Heading to Naboo
Coruscant
Ahsoka heads down to Dex's diner where she was meeting Jake. She goes inside and sits down in the usual booth they eat at. Ever since they met they have been spending a lot of time together. She didn't mind.
It was actually nice spending time with someone who wasn't a Jedi. Jake is funny, finds ways to cheer her up if she is feeling down, and if she has a problem she can talk to him about it. She couldn't talk to her master about them since he is always busy. She would talk to Barriss about any problems she has, but she is busy doing something else as well.
Other than Barriss, Anakin, Lux, Padme, and Obi Wan she didn't really have a lot of friends. When she met Jake and the others he began to bond with them. She needed it, especially after all the missions she has gone through, including the death of Steela. She has never forgotten that day and the look on Steela's face when she failed to save her.
Ever since that day she has felt guilty. When she talked to Saw, Steela's brother she could sense he was mad at her. He told her he wasn't, but she knew different. Lux wasn't mad and he didn't blame her, but she still felt guilty for not saving their friend.
Jake helped her get through that and he was able to help her forgive herself. She owes him a lot and is glad he's her friend.
"Ahsoka," she looks over and sees Jake approaching her. "Sorry I'm late. I had to wait until dad got home."
Ahsoka shook her head. "It's okay, thanks for inviting me."
"No problem," Jake sits down and the waiter comes by to take their orders. Once it got what they want, it left and the teenagers began talking. "So, where's your master anyway?"
"He went to go see Senator Amidala," Ahsoka responds recalling what her master told her. "I've never paid attention to it, but I've noticed he has been spending a lot of time with Padme."
Jake lets out a small snicker. "Maybe their married."
The two teenagers let out a small laughter at the thought of Anakin and Padme married. They soon calmed down and thought about that for a moment.
Ahsoka though shook off the idea. "I don't think they're really married. He wouldn't break the rules."
"Didn't you tell me he did break the rules a lot?" Jake asked reminding Ahsoka of what she told him. How many times the two Jedi broke the rules during their missions.
"He bent the rules," Ahsoka corrected. "Not break them, there's a difference."
Although he did break the rules at times and disobeyed the council. He would lecture her when she does that, but when he does it then its okay.
"Isn't that still bad?" Jake asked who didn't see a difference.
"It depends," said Ahsoka as the droid comes by and drops off their drinks. "If you do it to save lives or protect someone, then it's okay."
"Cool," said Jake as the droid comes by with their food. "By the way, have you told your master the truth?"
Ahsoka shook her head. "Fives doesn't remember what happened. So, as long as he doesn't remember then I don't have to tell them the truth."
Ahsoka told Jake about what happened on Hoth and about the giant Wampa. She doesn't remember what happened after she passed out. She didn't tell her master, because she was afraid her master and the council wouldn't believe her. Who would?
Jake did though since he was there. He didn't tell her that he and his friends are the Power Rangers. He didn't tell her that they saved her and killed the Wampa. They couldn't tell her without putting her life at risk, especially if Damien finds out.
"So, they aren't asking you anymore about what happened?" Jake asked.
Ahsoka nods her head. "For now, but my master still asks me from time to time what I remember."
"Well, maybe he'll let this go if you ask him if he's married with Senator Amidala," said Jake getting a small giggle out of Ahsoka.
"I seriously doubt their married," she noticed Jake puts his drink down and stare at her. "What?"
"How about a bet," Jake moves his plate away. "If Anakin is married to Senator Amidala or is at least dating her, then you will lend me your lightsaber."
Ahsoka thought about this bet and a small smile appears across her face. "Okay, but if they're not married or dating then you have to buy me dinner for the next six weeks."
Jake thinks about this knowing either way he wins. "Deal." The two shake on it. "I'm so going to win."
"We'll see Jacob," said Ahsoka who is confident she'll win.
Padme's apartment
It's nighttime and Padme is getting ready for bed. After coming back from dinner with Alexis and her family, she comes back to find her husband is waiting for her. He told her he is going to spend the night with her. She didn't mind and is glad he is staying.
The two haven't had a chance to spend the night together, because of the missions Anakin has gone on. Even when he didn't have missions, Padme was too busy working. So, the two finally had the chance to spend the night together and will be able to bond when they go to Naboo. They'll be able to stay on the planet for a few days to relax and they'll use that time to spend together.
"Alexis told me she might consider letting the kids stay in Coruscant," said Padme as she talks to her husband while brushing her hair. "I guess since the kids didn't want to leave she felt bad and decided to let them stay. Personally though I think it's because they want to spend more time with Ahsoka."
"She told me she likes spending time with them," said Anakin as he comes into the bedroom. "I'm still not sure about her spending time with that Jake kid."
"Why not?" Padme asked finishing brushing her hair. "They aren't doing anything bad. So, what's the problem?"
"I just don't like them spending time alone, okay?" Anakin replied who felt uncomfortable about his Padawan and Jake together.
Anakin has had a problem with it for a while now. He feels Ahsoka should be focused on her training, instead of hanging out with the boy. Padme however didn't see it as a problem. She thinks it's good for Ahsoka to have a friend besides Lux and she saw how Jake cares for his friend.
"I wouldn't worry about it Anakin," said Padme as she sits down on the bed next to her husband. "Jake is a good kid and he wouldn't do anything to harm Ahsoka."
Anakin lets out a small sigh and lies back on the bed. Padme noticed him rubbing his left leg. It's the same leg where he got stabbed by the woman that attacked him and the clones a month ago. She thought it was Ventress, until Anakin explained it wasn't her and wasn't sure what this woman was.
"Are you still thinking about what that woman said?" Padme asked.
Anakin nods his head recalling what the woman, Vampira said. "She told me they would keep in touch. I don't think she's working alone."
"Did you tell the council about this?" Padme asked.
Anakin gets up and walks towards the window. "They couldn't find anything and they assumed she's working for the Separatist."
Padme gets up and walks towards Anakin. "What do you think?"
Anakin shrugs his shoulder. "I don't know. I doubt Dooku would have her just stab me and let me go. She was powerful and was not like anyone I have encountered before. I'm sure even Dooku would have any control over her."
Padme was now getting worried. She is scared that this woman might try hurting Anakin again or worst. "What do you think she wants with you?"
Anakin faced his wife and grabs her hands. "I don't know, but I promise you I won't let her hurt you or anyone again."
Padme wraps her arms around her husband and pulls him close for a hug. "Just be careful, okay?"
Anakin returns the hug and kisses her on the head. "I promise."
Naboo
The next day, Alexis and her family boarded their transport ship and head towards Naboo. Padme joined them as well along with Ahsoka, Barriss, and Lux who was invited to join them. Anakin and Obi Wan would arrive with the chancellor, Master Windu, and Yoda.
The ship soon arrives to the city of Theeds and lands at the plaza, where the Queen of Naboo waited for them. Padme comes down first from the ramp and approaches the queen.
"Hello, Queen Neeyutnee," said Padme as she greets and bows her head to the queen.
"It's good to see you too Senator Amidala. It's good to see you again." Alexis and her family come down the ramp, where they are greeted by the queen. "You must be Senator Nite. It's an honor to meet you."
Alexis bows her head to the queen. "It's an honor to meet you too and thank you for welcoming us here."
"You're welcome," says the queen as she turned to the rest of the family. "And this must be your family."
Alexis introduces her family to the queen. "This is my husband Nathan, our twins Jake and Rachel"
Nathan then introduces the others. "And these are their friends Richard Stockwell, Ahsoka Tano, Barriss Offee, and Lux Bonteri."
"Welcome and we're glad to have you all here," the queen then turn towards Padme. "Come, we have much to prepare for before the festival begins."
"Hey mom," Jake called towards his mother. "Can we go explore?"
Alexis turns towards the queen who nods her head. "Sure, just make sure to be back before the festival begins."
"We will," Jake takes off with his sister, Rick, and Lux.
Ahsoka and Barriss were going to go, but they had orders to stay with the senators. Padme noticed this and didn't want them to miss the fun.
"Ahsoka, you and Barriss can go with them. We'll be fine."
"Are you sure senator?" Barriss asked.
Padme nods her head. "Go on."
"Thank you," Ahsoka then turns towards Barriss. "Come on. Let's go before we lose them."
Barriss nods in agreement and takes off with Ahsoka to go find their friends.
Meanwhile
Outside the city near the swamp a dark portal appears scaring off the animals. Out of the portal came the monster Kappa along with Vampira and several robot soldiers.
Vampira noticed the sun was up and hid in the shadows. "Damn, we'll have to wait until the sun goes down before we make our move."
"Awww, can't I kill some of these humans?" Kappa asked.
Vampira gives him a red angry glare causing him to whimper in fear. "Be patient, once the sun goes down we'll make our move."
"Why didn't the master come with us?" Kappa asked.
"He will, once we find who he is looking for," Vampira responds as she grabs a nearby animal and bites its head off.
They then hear some voices nearby. Looking from the shadow Vampira spots some strange looking alien people. She doesn't know what they are, but the way they talked was annoying. Then, an idea popped into her head when she saw a crate nearby.
"Kappa, kill them."
Kappa sees the aliens and opens his mouth to reveal his sharp teeth. "With pleasure."
Hyperspace
Anakin is on the bridge with Obi Wan going over the security details for the festival. They wanted to make sure nothing bad will happen. After that whole incident with Obi Wan going undercover, faking his death, disguised as a bounty hunter, and trying to thwart a kidnapping attempt on the chancellor the Jedi wanted to make sure it doesn't happen again.
"Okay, so we brought more troops and the security detail has been improved right?" Anakin asked towards Rex.
Rex nods his head. "Yes sir, we've even made sure to scan everyone to make sure they don't get passed us."
"Make sure no one gets in without being scanned first," said Anakin.
"Yes sir," Rex takes off to give the orders to the men.
Obi Wan noticed his friend's concern and tries to help him. "Anakin, you need to relax. Everything is going to be fine."
"You don't know that," Anakin responds who was focused on the security detail.
"You're right I don't, but then again no one does," said Obi Wan as he placed his hand on his friend's shoulder. "No one can predict what will happen. All we can do is hope things don't go bad."
Anakin lets out a small sigh and nods his head. "I know, I just don't want another attack to happen without us doing more to prevent it."
"I know," said Obi Wan agreeing with his friend. "For now though go clear your mind and I'll handle the rest of the detail, okay?"
"All right," Anakin agrees. "I guess taking a walk could help clear my thoughts a little."
As Anakin leaves, Rex walks up to Obi Wan. "Is General Skywalker okay?"
Obi Wan nods his head. "He'll be fine. He just has a lot on his mind."
Naboo
Jake, Rachel, Rick, and Lux are by an open field relaxing after spending the day exploring the city. Ahsoka and Barriss are nearby watching the group. While they watch, Ahsoka noticed something different about her friend. Something she has never sensed from her friend before.
"Hey Barriss, can I ask you something?"
Barriss looks over to her friend and nods her head. "Sure, is everything okay?"
Ahsoka shook her head. "Everything is fine. I was just noticed you seem more relaxed, calm, and well…happy."
Barriss should have guessed her friend would notice. She made sure no one in the temple would notice it since she was concern they would start asking questions.
"Well, I have been spending time away from the war and have been able to relax," Barriss responds as she explains why she feels how she does. "The war pushes us and takes us down a path that is not the Jedi way. I take it you've felt that way?"
"Yes," Ahsoka knew that feeling and has been pushed down a path that she feels is not the Jedi way. "Jake helped me out though. He is there for me to talk to and gives me some advice."
"And it helped?" Barriss gets her answer when Ahsoka nods her head. "Good, I'm glad you're doing okay."
"You too," Ahsoka then noticed the others walking towards them. "What's wrong?"
"We need to head back," Rachel responds as she shows her friends the time. "We need to get dressed and get ready for the festival."
"All right, let's get going then," said Ahsoka as the group begins walking back to the palace.
Palace
"So, you think I should take it easy on the kids?" Nathan asked as he talks to his wife who is the bathroom.
"Just don't push them too far," Alexis responds as she finishes fixing her hair. "I want them to be able to walk around and go out instead of lying on the couch all day."
Nathan knew his wife was right. He has been pushing them a little too far. Of course, he only did that in order to help them be ready for the next attack by Damien. He won't always be there to help them, but once their properly trained he'll know they will be ready to handle anything without him.
"I promise to not train them too much," said Nathan giving his word to his wife.
"Thank you," Alexis comes out of the bathroom wearing her long blue dress and has her hair fixed. "You ready to go?"
Nathan walks over and kisses his wife on the lips. She returns the kiss and they continue making out for a minute before stopping.
"What was that for?" Alexis asked.
Nathan shrugs his shoulders. "I just felt like kissing my wife."
Alexis smiles back and goes to kiss her husband again, when Padme enters the room. "Oh, sorry, I just came to check if you guys were ready."
Alexis lets out a small sigh and knows the moment has been ruined. "Yeah, we're ready. Has the kids come back?"
Padme nods her head. "They came back a few minutes ago and are getting dressed."
"That's good," said Nathan as he grabs his coat. "So, are we ready to go then?"
"Almost," they look over and see Obi Wan entering the room. "Hello Nathan, hello Alexis it's been a long time."
"Hello Obi Wan," Alexis walk up to the Jedi Master and gives him a hug. "It's been too long. How are you?"
Obi Wan returns the hug and greets the older woman. "I'm fine and it's good to see you too."
Alexis break the hug just as Nathan approaches the Jedi Master and shakes his hand. "I like the beard Kenobi. I bet Qui-Gon would have liked it too."
Obi Wan nods in agreement and lets out a small sigh. "I would like to believe he also likes how far I have come since that day and how I kept my promise on training Anakin."
Alexis nods in agreement and pats her hand on the back. "He would have been proud of you and for all the good you have done."
"And making sure Anakin received his training," said Padme recalling Qui-Gon wanting to train Anakin, despite the council saying he was too old to be trained. "He has come a long way."
"Yes he has," said Obi Wan agreeing with Padme. "And now he's a teacher with a student of his own. A student who has come a long way and will be a great Jedi one day."
Alexis lets out a disappointed sigh. "I wish she would be my son's girlfriend." Everyone looked at her confused by her statement. "She's nice, she's pretty, he likes her, and he likes spending time with her than at home.
Obi Wan clears his throat. "Yes well, you know they can't be together."
"Yeah, yeah you and your Jedi Order's dumb rule," said Alexis who lets out a loud groan. "My mood is now dead and I don't want to go to the festival."
"Padme," began Nathan as he gives his wife to their Goddaughter. "Do you mind taking Alexis downstairs?"
Padme nods her head. "Come on Alexis."
Once the women left, Nathan talks to Kenobi. "Sorry about that. I get the rules you guys have. Still, I bet many of you wish you could love. I know you and Qui-Gon were one of them."
Obi Wan nods in agreement. "He told me he once fell in love and how losing her almost lead him down the dark path. That is why I never made any move with Satine out of fear I might almost fall like my master."
"You didn't, even when he was killed," said Nathan.
Obi Wan remembers that moment. How he watched his master fight alone against Darth Maul. How he couldn't do anything, but watch him fight the Sith alone and die. He thought he avenged his death by killing Maul. How wrong he was.
"Do you think if he was still alive, things would have changed?" Obi Wan asked.
Nathan was unsure himself either. "The past is in the past. All we can do is try moving on and hope to make things for the better."
"I hope you're right," said Obi Wan till he noticed the time. "We should get going. We don't want to be late."
Outside the city
Several Gungans were making their way into the city, while the guards checked to make sure they weren't bringing anything illegal inside. As they finish up with the last few Gungans they noticed a speeder with a crate in the back. They noticed the driver is wearing a dark cloak that covered the face. They stopped the speeder and approached the driver.
"Let's see some identification."
The driver didn't remove the hood, but when the driver spoke they identify it to be a woman. "Of course, would you like to inspect the back?"
The guards nod their heads. "Open it."
The woman opens the crate as the guards go to check the back. They look inside and before they can say anything, two clawed hands rammed through their chests. The guards coughed up blood before the hands pulled out of their chests. They fall to the ground and die.
The woman licks the blood and closed the crate. "Good, but I wonder how the people inside will taste like."
It looks like someone is going to crash the party and cause problems. Will the Power Rangers be ready for whoever comes their way? Will the Jedi find out about them? And what will happen when Damien arrives? Find out next time to see what happens next.
