The Legend of Zelda: Goddess of Courage
Her green hair flew behind her as she ran. She had no idea how a mortal got to the Goddess Land, but she had to get away. There was something about this mortal that seem strange to her. She was able to make it to the door and ran outside, but was stop by a whole hoard of monsters. She could tell they had been waiting for her.
"Farore, my little goddess. Do you really think you can get away?" A voice said behind her.
Farore turns around to see that a man was using the shadows to hide himself in. Next to him were two crystals that held her sisters Din and Nayru. The man somehow caught Din and Nayru and was trying to get her.
"You will not have the power of the Goddess. I will make sure of it." Farore said.
Farore was the Goddess of Courage and she was standing her ground like her chosen. In fact, that gives her an idea.
'Oh Goddess Hylia. Dear mother of our world. Please forgive me for breaking one of the secret rules. But I need his help...' Farore thought as she prays.
The man stood there thinking she had given up and order his monster to capture her. Before they got close, Farore was cover in green light and flew away from her home and towards the land of Hyrule.
'An evil had fallen not only to Hyrule but the Goddess World as well. There is only one person who can save it. My chosen...Link!'
A green light shines through the sky, passing over a lonely house. Inside was a young man, no older than 20. He was sleeping until the light shine over his house, and his left hand suddenly glow. It was enough to wake him up. He yawns and looks out the window. It was still dark. He notices his hand glowing and saw the marking on it. He was told it was a birthmark he was born with, and it took the shape of the mystic treasure known as the Triforce.
The glow died down, but the right triangle remains glow for a few more seconds. Passing it off as him being too tired, he fell back asleep. Not knowing what tomorrow will bring.
Elsewhere...
Farore groans as she opens her eyes. She rubs her head and looks around. She was in Hyrule, but it was still dark. She closes her eyes and started to sense her chosen. She could feel him not too far from her location. She stood up and was about to head for him, only to remember she was in her goddess form. Knowing that she could bring a lot of questions she didn't want to answer, she took up a moral form.
Her clothes change to a green dress that had blue petals on it, along with triangles that were upright and upside down. She even had a blue top covering her chest and blue wist bands that look a flower. Finally, her long hair started to roll up into two green bubs with a golden strap to keep them in place. She also had brown pants and boots. She looks over herself and nods.
"Now, to find my chosen and ask for his help. Hang on, Nayru and Din. I'm coming to save you!" She said before running towards her chosen home.
The next morning...
The young man woke up that clean his face. He thought today was going to be like any other day. He walks out the door, wearing an old shirt and pants. He turns to his monster scarecrow and picks up his wooden sword. It was getting close to the Knight Ceremony, and he was ready to become a knight. Once he did, everyone will know the name Link.
Link picks up his wooden sword, and started his practice. He started with his swings, then move to his jump attack. He also circles the scarecrow, making sure to remember his dodging skills. After a bit more practice, he went to his morning chores. He sweeps the dirt out of his house, and got some fresh water from a nearby stream. Link was about to use some of the water for his cooking when he heard someone crying out for help.
He ran outside and saw a young woman surround by Wolfos. He grabs his wooden sword and rushes out to help her.
Farore knew she was in trouble. Because she was in a mortal body, most of her powers are gone. She has to change back in order to fight off the Wolfos. Plus, she has no weapons in her mortal form. The Wolfos surround her, thinking they found a tasty meal. Farore stares down at the beasts, not a single ounce of fear on her face. She wasn't call the Goddess of Courage for nothing. Just when it seems she was going to change back into her Goddess form, one of them suddenly fell to the ground, disappearing into black smoke. Farore looks up, and was surprised to see her chosen. The Wolfos turn to Link and growls.
He didn't flatter. Link held up his sword, staring down at the beasts. Farore could sense that he had lots of courage in him. The one thing all the others had.
One Wolfos jump at Link, who dodge and butts the back of its head with the end of the wooden sword. Another Wolfo try to rush at him, but Link jump over it, striking down another one. A third Wolfo tries to swipe him, but he ducks under it. Using his weight, Link pushes the Wolfo back before blocking another one's claw with his sword.
Farore could tell he was holding his own, but there were too many Wolfos for him to fight off. She spotted one of the Wolfos sneaking behind Link and acted. She rushes up to him and pushes him out of the Wolfo's path. She found herself laying on top of him and looked into his blue eyes. She was surprised at how handsome he was. She quickly shook hear and got off him.
"Sorry! But they're still here!" She said as Link stood up.
Farore could tell his wooden sword was old, and it wasn't going to last must longer. As Link stood in front of her, Farore closes her eyes and summon another sword. Link notices the light and looks to see the young woman holding a new sword. The blade shines as the sunlight reflects off it while it sat on a green handle. There was some gold in the center, making a symbol he heard of.
"Use this!" Farore said, giving him the sword.
Link takes the sword and felt some kind of power coming from it. He then faces the Wolfos, holding up his new sword. Some of the Wolfos back away, but one rushes at him. Link swings the sword, and the Wolfo fell back, turning into black smoke. The other started to back away as Link held up the sword, daring them to attack him.
The Wolfos decide it was not worth it and turn tail. Link sighs and faces Farore. He lowers his hand to her, and spoke.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
"Yes, thank you." She said, taking his hand.
Link helps her up, and looks over her. She seems to be his age and not hurt. However, he wonders why she didn't use the sword she gave him earlier. He goes to give it back, but Farore pushes the sword back to him.
"Please, keep it. Consider it a gift for helping me." She said.
Link looks confuse before Farore hands him a scabbard to put the sword in. Link took it, and notices Ancient Hylian text on it. He knew some of it, but the text was a little hard to make out.
"It says, Farore's Blade," Farore told him.
Link looks at her, surprised. And Farore quickly came up with a cover story.
"My family studies Ancient Hylian text. I come from a long line of people that studies the language of old. Even help me to read people too." She said.
Link looks at the blade, knowing that name Farore was the name of the Goddess of Courage. He looks at her and Farore could read his face.
"I'm named after the Goddess herself. I'm Farore." She said, bowing a little.
"Link." He said, putting the sword in the Scabbard.
"Nice to meet you, Link." Farore smiles.
Link nods, and started to head back to his house, with Farore following him.
Step one was done. Now she has to find a way to get him to help her save her family without telling him who she really was.
And that is only the start of this story. I actually thought of this idea years ago, and I have been trying to write this for a long time. I had a different plot when I started this, but I decided to start over. However, this is one of my Zelda Stories. There are two more I'm going to write and they are all connected. And the man that attacked the Goddess Realm is not the King of Evil. But I will have him appear in the combined story after I'm done with all three stories. Keep an eye out for The Legend of Zelda: Goddess of Wisdom and Goddess of Power.
And before anyone tells me, I'm fully aware that there are two different versions of Farore, Nayru, and Din. There are their Goddesses forms that first appear in Ocarina of Time and their Oracle forms from the Oracle games on the Gameboy. I'm combining the two with all three of them. And one last thing. When I do Goddess of Power, Din will not be teaming up with Ganondorf. I have a new character in mind for her.
