Chapter 24 is here and I am still surprised how well this story is going. I enjoy reading your reviews and the comments I get from them. I came up with this idea for the story months ago, but I didn't think it would be good.
Thanks to my friend who remains anonymous I was able to make this. I also have to thank you guys for the support and reviews you have left for the story. I appreciate it guys and I hope you all like what we have in store for this chapter. We are going to do another three-part arc after this chapter so I hope you all like what happens.
All right let's go with the disclaimer. I don't own anything of Star Wars just my OCs. My friend made Rick who I am glad to have in the story. Time to get started enjoy the chapter everyone.
Rest & Relaxation part II
Senate Building
Rachel and Lux are in his office trying to finish up the speech he is planning to give to the senate. He was asked by several senators to help keep the chancellor from setting up Republic bases on un-inhabitant planets.
Some of the planets the chancellor wants to build military bases on are homes to endangered animals and colonies that want to stay away from the war. Building these bases will cause harm to the wildlife and the people living there.
So, Lux has been asked to help stop this and would be one of the senators to give his speech. He was nervous. He never gave a speech before and was afraid he will screw up. Hard to imagine him being nervous, especially after all he has gone through as a Power Ranger.
"Lux, you need to relax," said Rachel as sits on his chair while typing out his speech. "It's just a dumb speech. You have probably given plenty before, right?"
Lux stayed silent for a minute before he replies. "I gave a speech in front of a small crowd before, but never in front of so many people like the senate."
Rachel now understands his concern and can see why he's nervous. "Well, when my mom gives speeches she always practices alone in a room and imagines the reaction they might give her."
"Is that all?" Lux asked.
Rachel knew there was more. "When that doesn't work she asks us to hear her speech. If we said no, she threatens to ground us."
Lux lets out a small laugh. "Wow and if you guys don't like her speech, does she ground you?"
"Nope," Rachel replied. "We always love her speeches and how she scares Rick when he pretends to be a senator that argues against her. One time her reply scared him so badly he almost wet his pants."
Lux lets out a much louder laugh imagining Rick being scared of Alexis. She is a scary woman, probably scarier than any bad guy they have fought in the past.
"But, she then apologizes, gives him a hug, and makes him some food," said Rachel who admires her mom. "She can be tough and scary at times, but she can be nice and kind to others. She's the best."
Lux nods silently and begins to think about his mother. It brought back some good memories about him spending time with her. It also brought back some sad memories when he was told she was dead. It was the worst feeling of his life.
He lost his father and then his mother. He felt all alone. All his family is gone and didn't have no place to go. If it wasn't for Ahsoka his life would have ended as well.
"Hey," he turns towards Rachel who is speaking to him. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," said Lux. "I was just thinking about my mom and how much I miss her."
Rachel felt guilty now. Here she is talking about her mom to a guy who lost his mom. She feels awful and decides to try cheering him up. While he is distracted with his thoughts she walks up to him and gives him a hug.
"I'm sorry Lux. I shouldn't have brought this up."
Lux shook his head. "It's okay. I do miss my mom, but when I'm with you guys I don't feel alone."
Rachel smiles happily for Lux and breaks the hug. "I bet she is proud of you and how you have saved so many people."
Lux nods his head. "Maybe she is."
Jedi Temple
Aayla Secura walks down the temple after finishing talking to her former mentor, Quinlan Vos. She missed spending time with him and is happy to have finally caught up since the last time they spoke.
The war has been keeping many Jedi in the Order busy and many of them never come back. Aayla begins thinking back about what happened on her mission with Skywalker and his Padawan years ago.
She remembers her discussing with the Tee Watt Kaa, from the Lurmen village and his views about the Jedi. She knew there are people who had strong opinions about the Order, but Tee Watt's view made more sense. She understands why he didn't want his people involved in the war and how he fought to keep them out of it. It didn't last long thanks to their arrival that caused the Separatist to try killing the villagers.
She wonders if Tee Watt left the planet and found a new place to settle. She hopes he did and that they are away from the war.
"Aayla," she turns around and sees Shaak Ti approaching her. "How are you?"
"I'm fine," Aayla replied as she greets her friend. "How goes things on Kamino?"
Shaak Ti lets out a small sigh. "It's okay, although I wish I was out in the war helping everyone."
A small smile appears across Aayla's face. "If you want we can switch. I could use some time away from the war."
Shaak Ti knew what her friend meant. The two of them have seen what has happened in the war and how many of their friends have died. They have been through so much, especially surviving their encounter with General Grievous. Along with Ki-Adi-Mundi they were the only three to have survived their encounter against the cyborg general.
"By the way is it true that the Separatist have gained a new ally?" Aayla asked.
Shaak Ti forgot that Aayla is not a master yet and is still a Jedi Knight. So she doesn't know what happened on Geonosis or about the new threat.
"Whoever is working with Dooku has two monsters that proved to be more of a threat than General Grievous," explained Shaak Ti as she continues. "We don't know who it is, but the council believes this Green Ranger might know and we have to find him to figure this out."
"Do you think he's a threat?" Aayla asked.
Shaak Ti shook her head. "I don't think so and I think half of the council thinks the same. However, if he does know anything we need to know."
"So now we have to deal with more enemies," Aayla lets out a small groan. "It seems that this war will have no end."
"Do not give up," said Shaak Ti as she tries to cheer her friend up. "We must continue to have faith and hope that this war will end, soon."
"I hope so," said Aayla hoping the war ended already. "By the way, how is Luminara after her encounter with this Vampira woman?"
"She said she's doing fine," Shaak Ti replied. "However, she said if we do ever encounter this woman to be on our guard. The way things are looking, we may have to."
Market
Rick and Barriss are in the upper part of Coruscant looking for some clothes to buy. So far they found some clothes, but none that Barriss was interested in.
Some of them revealed her stomach and her arms a lot like when Ahsoka wore her old outfit when she joined the war. Barriss told Rick about that and he was surprised that Ahsoka would wear something like a tube top.
She was surprised as well. She even asked Ahsoka why she would wear revealing outfits. Ahsoka explained she felt comfortable wearing those outfits. She never thought of them as too revealing. So she wore them and for a while no one complained.
That was until she noticed a lot of men eyeing her during a mission. She decided then to wear a different and less revealing outfit. The one she wears now and that is something Barriss wanted. She wanted clothes that didn't reveal much, but would be comfortable.
"You done in there?" Rick asked outside the changing room where Barriss is trying on one of the outfits he suggested. "I'm getting bored."
"Rick," Barriss began. "Are you sure you don't have an outfit that is well…revealing?"
"Oh come on Barriss just come out and let's see it," said Rick.
Barriss comes out of the room and surprises Rick. On her arms she has one a black with a red line sleeve, black pants with red lines on the sides, and a black tube top. But that isn't what caught Rick's attention. It's the fact that her hood is done and reveals her short black hair.
Rick has met many girls before on Almora, but never that were as beautiful as Barriss. He knew she was pretty and looks better without her hood. But, he didn't expect her to look beautiful and would leave him speechless. Barriss noticed this and can feel her cheeks brightening up.
However, she recovered and cleared her throat. "How do I look?"
Rick snaps out of it too and responds. "You look amazing."
Barriss smiles and does her best to keep her composure. "Thank you, I still feel this outfit is a little revealing."
"Yeah sorry about that," said Rick as he approaches her. "Still, from what you told me about these undercover missions, it seems like this is something that won't say you're a Jedi."
"Really?" asked Barriss as she looks in the mirror. "It doesn't look so bad. I still don't like wearing a tube top."
Rick got an idea and leaves for a moment. He comes back with a black vest and hands it to her. "This should work."
Barriss puts the vest on and sees it fits her well. She never minds the way she looks, especially since she's a Jedi. However, ever since she met the others she began to loosen up. Now, she doesn't mind wearing different outfits.
As long as she is comfortable wearing them. "I love it, thank you."
"No problem," Rick then notices some outfits nearby. "Hey, if you want we can buy some more clothes."
"Oh I'll just need one for going undercover," said Barriss.
"And what if you want to wear one that isn't for undercover work?" Rick asked.
Barriss turns around and knew what Rick meant. "You mean, wear casual clothing? I don't know, I mean I can see myself wearing this for undercover missions. But, wearing other normal clothes around the temple might cause some problems."
Rick understands and knew Barriss is right. "That's fine, by the way you look better without the hood. You look like an angel."
Barriss gasps silently and can feel her cheeks burning. She has never been called that way before. For some reason it felt good. But again, she needs to regain her composure and remember that she's a Jedi.
So she decides to change the subject. "Rick, how did you end up living with Jake and Rachel?"
Rick knew eventually Barriss or Lux would ask him that question. So he decides to tell her. "My father used to be in charge of the Almora guards. They are considered the law enforcement of our planet and he was the best. He made sure the city was safe, was good friends with Jake and Rachel's parents, and he taught me how to fight."
"Wow, that is amazing," said Barriss impressed with Rick's father. "So, what happened to him?"
Rick lets out a sad sigh and sits down in a nearby chair. "He passed away a year ago after saving orphan children from a group of pirates that wanted to sell them for slavery. He killed them, but it cost him his life."
Barriss felt bad for bringing this up. She sits down next to Rick and tries to comfort him. "I'm sorry, what about your mother?"
"She passed away when I was born," Rick explained as he lets out another sigh. "The good thing is Nathan and Alexis adopted me. Otherwise I would have ended up being an orphan."
"And you're happy to be with them?" Barriss asked.
Rick nods his head. "Alexis is cool, she is smart, and knows how to cheer us up if we get sad. Nathan would play sports with us, taught us how to drive, and taught us never to fight someone unless you have to."
"That is good advice," said Barriss. "We are taught the same way by the Order at a young age so we don't rush off into a fight or look to cause problems."
"Do you remember anything about your parents?" asked Rick.
Barriss shook her head sadly. "I did when I was little, but I was taught not to form feelings or look for them. Sometimes though, I do wonder if they miss me and if they still remember me."
Rick's expression changed and looks mad. "That is why Almora doesn't like the Jedi. I mean no offense but taking children away from a young age and forcing this life on them is horrible. You guys claim to be peace keepers and yet you're off fighting in a war, even sending children into battle. That is not only dumb, but can cause a lot of psychological damage."
Normally Barriss would defend the Jedi Order, but she nods in agreement with Rick. "Thank you."
Rick faces Barriss confused by what she meant. "For what?"
"Before, I was affected by this war and I was afraid I was going to lose my way as well like Krell," admits Barriss as she confesses her feelings with her friend. "But, when I met you guys and during our time together those feelings began to go away. I feel less stress, I don't feel scared about what I will do, and I feel like I'm finally doing what I wanted to do. That's help protect the innocent and fight without fear of losing myself."
Rick smiles happily for his friend. "You're welcome and maybe that might be enough for a kiss?"
Barriss rolls her eyes and uses the Force to knock Rick off his seat. "Nice try Rick, but that is not going to happen. I may be a Power Ranger, but that doesn't mean I'll give you a kiss."
Rick sighs in disappointment. "You can't hurt a guy for trying."
Barriss helps him up. "Now, do you mind picking out some more outfits for me to try on?"
"You got it," said Rick as he takes off to get more clothes for Barriss.
Barriss heads to the back and begins changing out of her clothes. She looks in the mirror and smiles. "One day Rick, you might get that kiss."
Senate Building
Alexis is standing by the door with Anakin and Padme across the room still surprised by what just happened. A minute ago they were kissing and didn't have a care in the world. Then they got caught kissing by the last person Anakin wanted to see catch them. Now, he wonders what she has to say and what is going to happen.
Alexis locks the door and walks towards the couch. "Padme, didn't I tell you not to make out with your husband while you're at work?"
Padme nods her head. "We just got caught in the moment."
"Wait what?" Anakin is confused by what is going on. "She knows? Did you tell her?"
Before Padme can say a word Alexis steps in. "I figured it out all on my own Annie."
Anakin faced Alexis upset. "How?"
"Kind of obvious Skyguy," said Alexis while snickering when she called Anakin by the nickname Ahsoka calls him by.
Padme steps in before this turns into a fight. "She confronted me about this a month ago. She explained how obvious it was. You and I always greeting in a manner that makes it seem like we're together, you're always coming to my rescue, and you keep glancing towards me when I'm talking to another man."
Anakin smacks his head with his left hand for making it so obvious. He couldn't believe that he let himself get careless and for getting caught.
Padme leans forward and kisses him on the cheek. "Don't worry, she promised not to tell."
Anakin looks surprised and faces Alexis. "Why?"
"She's my Goddaughter," explained Alexis. "What kind of Godmother would I be if I told on her about you guys being married?"
Anakin feels less stressed and begins to relax. "Thank you Alexis, I'm sorry for how I reacted"
"Its fine," said Alexis waving her hand. "Just a little friendly advice though. You break her heart and I will break your other hand."
Anakin can see the seriousness in Alexis's eyes and knew she wasn't kidding. "I got it."
Alexis's expression changed to her smiling. "This is great. Now we can all hang out together as couples. Oh, if you two aren't busy how about we hang out at my place and have dinner."
Padme nods her head to the idea. "We never hang out with other couples since we have to hide our secret. Now we can go out as a couple and have some fun."
Anakin on the other hand was unsure about the idea. "I was actually hoping Padme we could spend some time together."
"Ani please? It will be a lot of fun," pleaded Padme.
Anakin lets out a small sigh and knew he couldn't say no. "All right, but just for an hour okay?"
"Fine," said Alexis as she pulls out her communicator. "I'll give Nathan a call and set everything up. Oh two things Skywalker. One, leave my son alone and let him hang out with Ahsoka. He doesn't have many friends and he likes her a lot."
Anakin turns towards Padme who whistles innocently. "Fine, what's the second thing?"
Alexis opens the door. "Lock the door next time you want to kiss Padme and close the windows. You never know who might be watching."
Once she leaves the room Anakin uses the Force to close the door and lock it. "I don't like her."
"Ani be nice," said Padme. "She's family and I don't want you two to get into a fight, okay?"
Anakin lets out another sigh. "Okay, but if she tries anything."
Padme lifts her hand. "Don't worry, she won't and trust me if she did I wouldn't recommend fighting her."
Anakin raised an eyebrow. "Why?"
"Trust me, you don't want to know," said Padme as she sits back in her seat and continues working.
Nite's Apartment
Jake and Ahsoka leave the kitchen covered in dough and flour. Earlier the two were talking and got hungry. Their conversation ended with Ahsoka telling Jake she never learned how to cook. The Jedi Order never taught her how to cook since they never saw it to be necessary for their students to learn.
So Jake tried to teach her how to cook and things didn't go well. Five minutes into the teachings they managed to get covered in dough, flour, and they almost burned the kitchen down. Good thing for them is they had a fire extinguisher nearby and they were able to stop the fire. The bad thing is Jake is going to have to explain to his parents what happened and get the kitchen fixed up.
"I'm sorry Jake," said Ahsoka as the kids sit down on the couch. "I'll take the blame when you tell your parents what happened.
"Its fine Ahsoka," said Jake reassuring his friend everything is okay. "It's not the first time the kitchen got caught on fire. At least we didn't make anything that moved or blow the kitchen up."
Ahsoka looks surprised by what her friend said and began to giggle. "Let me guess your sister and Rick?"
Jake shook his head. "It was my sister and me. To be honest we were five and we wanted to make a cake for our parent's anniversary. Let's just say we were banned from the kitchen for a year. We weren't even allowed to go near the fridge."
"Wow," responds Ahsoka. "Is there anything you guys didn't blow up?"
"Our beds," said Jake until he remembered something. "Well, except for Rick but that was when he was 13 and he wanted to make his bed fly."
Ahsoka began laughing. "How mad were your parents?"
"My mom was mad," explained Jake. "My dad, he thought it was cool, until my mom glared at him and he agreed with her."
Jake gets up and walks towards the bathroom. Ahsoka in the meantime got up and walks towards a nearby table. There she sees pictures of Jake and his family. From the time the kids were small to right now.
She was happy for Jake and at the same time a little envious. She wished she knew her parents and wondered what it's like to be loved by a family. Jake's family cares about her, but she still wished she had a family like Jake's. Jake comes back and hands her a wet towel to clean herself up.
"So, Ahsoka you were telling me that you met a guy called the Green Ranger?" asked Jake as he sits back on the couch. "That must have been cool."
Ahsoka nods her head as she sits back down next to him. "It was, he saved me from being controlled and the way he fought Torus. He was amazing and I wish I could have known who he was."
"He didn't tell you his name?" asked Jake curious to know if his dad left any clue on his identity.
"No," Ahsoka then remembers something. "I did feel like I met him before, but I can't put my finger on it."
Jake wasn't concern if Ahsoka knew the truth. In fact he hopes she does. He is getting tired of lying to her and wants her to know the truth. He knows why she can't know, but he doesn't want to continue lying to her.
"I'll figure it out eventually," said Ahsoka as she lets out a small sigh. "I just wish the council wouldn't try to arrest him just to find out. He saved me, doesn't that show whose side he is on?"
Jake nods in agreement, while recalling what his dad told them days ago.
(Flashback)
Two days ago on Endor the Rangers return to the command center and explain what happened. Nathan told them Ahsoka saw the Green Ranger, but she doesn't know about his real identity, and about the Power Rangers. She knows the name, but not anything else. For them that's a good thing since Zane doesn't want anyone to find out about them.
"I don't like this," said Jake who was tired of lying to his friend. "We should tell her the truth. We can trust her with our secret."
"I know she can, but we still shouldn't," said Zane as he explains why. "If Damien found out he would use her to get to us. He might even kill her. That is something we can't risk. Not again."
"What do you mean again?" asked Rachel.
Nathan steps forward just before Zane was about to explain. "You kids deserve to know the truth and hopefully this will have you understand why Ahsoka can't know."
"What is it?" asked Barriss wondering what more secrets is being kept from them.
Nathan begins explaining. "Long ago when your mother and I were the Power Rangers we had a friend who knew our secret. He was a good friend and we trusted him. Someone found out that he knew our identity and they used him to find out. He refused to tell them and when we went to rescue him, he was killed."
The kids look on shock at the story Nathan just told them. Someone close to Nathan and the other Rangers died because he knew their secret. If they told Ahsoka there is a chance she could get killed too. That's something they can't risk.
"Listen," began Zane as he continues for Nathan. "We will tell her in time. I have something in the works where once it's finished, then we can tell your friend the truth. But until then, keep this to yourselves and don't tell anyone."
(Flashback over)
"I still wonder who his friends are and if they can help us find who Torus is working for," said Ahsoka snapping Jake out of his thoughts. "Do you think your parents might know who the Power Rangers are?"
Jake shrugs his shoulders. "Maybe, I guess we'll have to wait to see if our paths will cross with them."
"I guess you're right," Ahsoka's stomach begins growling causing the Jedi Padawan to laugh nervously. "Sorry about that."
Jake simply smiles and pulls out his communicator. "Want to order in?"
Ahsoka nods her head. "Sounds like a plan."
Ryloth
Several Separatist ships began entering the planet surface with thousands of Twi'leks running from their homes to find safety. A dark ship begins landing near one of these towns and the landing platform begins to open. Out from the ship a cloaked figure walks down and looks around at the town. Several droids began rounding up the citizens, while they shot those that resisted.
"Take the women to the palace and get the men rounded up," said the cloaked woman towards one of the droids.
She walks from the shadow of the ship into the sun looking around. She pulls her glove off and moves it to the sun as she watches it burn her skin. She lets out a small sneer before putting the glove off. She needs to take care of the sun before she can move her plan into action.
"Ma'am," one of the droids approached her with a report. "The machine is set up and should work in a few minutes."
"Good," said the woman as she pulls out a vial with an armor looking clay monster inside. "Once it starts working darkness will cover this planet and the games will begin."
Uh oh, this is not good. I don't think I need to ask you who the woman is, since you probably already know. Nice bonding moments with everyone huh? Will it be enough to help rescue Ryloth? Will the Power Rangers arrive to save them or will it be too late?
