Chapter One: Ian And Barley
"Corey we're kinda backed up in here." Alexis says as she is in the kitchen of the Manticore Tavern cooking with Corey.
"Just keep cooking. I'll take the plates out." Corey says as she leaves the room.
"Corey I-" Alexis then stops talking as she sees Corey talking to two boys and hears them talking about wanting to find a gem to help their father.
"Who are those boys? They're certainly persistent." Alexis thinks as she sees the boys trying to convince Corey to give them a map only to anger her.
"I'm living a lie! What have I become?" Corey asks as she begins breath fire and setting things ablaze.
"This isn't good." Alexis says in worry.
"Everybody out! This tavern is closed for remodeling." Corey shouts as everyone runs out of the burning building before Alexis follows the two boys to a vehicle.
"Hey are you guys okay?" Alexis asks in worry.
"Whoa! Who are you?" A boy holding a staff asks.
"Relax. I'm not a threat. I heard your conversation with Corey." Alexis says.
"Sorry we kinda resulted in the place being set on fire." The boy says.
"It's okay. Corey will settle down eventually. I'm sorry about your dad and the map. I don't know how far this can get you but maybe it can help. I saw it on the floor as I was getting out of the building." Alexis says as she hands the boys a map.
"This is amazing. The puzzle is solved! Thank you." The boy holding the staff says.
"You're welcome." Alexis says kindly.
"Wait. Raven's Point? We don't know where that even is." The other boy says.
"I do. I live near there. I can take you if you want." Alexis says.
"That would be amazing." The boy holding a staff says.
"Who are you anyway?" The other boy asks.
"Alexis." Alexis says kindly.
"I'm Barley and this is my brother Ian. That's our dad... well half of him." The other boy says as Alexis notices the pair of legs in the back seat.
"Nice to meet you." Alexis says.
"Hop in. Just tell me what way to go." Barley says kindly.
"No problem." Alexis says as she gets in the vehicle.
