Chapter 32 is here guys and Happy New Year's. I hope everyone has enjoyed how well 2014 has gone and thanks everyone for the reviews for this story. I admit when it began I didn't think it would go this far or at least get many supporters. So thanks guys and thanks to my friend for his help on this story. Death
Coruscant
The Chancellor sits in his office speaking with Senator Organa and Amidala as they discuss over the current debate the Senate is dealing with while Anakin Skywalker who came in earlier stood nearby.
Word spread about what happened on Ryloth involving Vampira and how she was able to take control of the Clone army. This caused a panic in the Senate, fearing that the Separatist could use this monster to take control of their entire army. Many demanded the Clones to be tested and many asked what if they send Vampira to try taking control of their planet's governments. This raise issues of security and it brought out more fear within the Senate.
The Chancellor reassured them everything is fine and they are handling the situations. One senator however spoke out saying the only ones handling the situation are the Power Rangers. Soon more began to join in with the senator and felt they were the only ones protecting them from these monsters that have been appearing. It took almost five minutes before the Chancellor could regain order in the Senate, but by then he knew half of them were on the side of the Power Rangers.
"It seems no matter what we say the people have spoken," said Senator Organa.
Padme nods in agreement. "I've spoken to some of them after the meeting finished. Some are asking for more security for their planets and inspection of the Clone army."
"Something that we've already done," the Chancellor replied. "As for more security I'm afraid it would require more money to be spend, which we cannot afford. Many of our resources have been put into making more soldiers and equipment for them to use. Any more spending would create a backlash for the Republic."
"But the Republic has already suffered a backlash for not doing anything about these attacks," Senator Organa replied. "If this keeps up the Republic will end up losing more allies, and other systems might decide to join the Separatist."
"Chancellor, I know you've told us about them, but perhaps if you show support for the Power Rangers we might be able to calm everyone," Padme suggested.
"It might work," Senator Organa agreed with Padme's idea. "Many of the people support them for all the good they are doing and I heard how they are able to take on these monsters that have been appearing. If you support them instead of trying to arrest them then it might calm the Senate down."
The Chancellor hates to admit it, but he knew that they were right. The Power Rangers are his enemies, but right now he needs to get the people's support back on his side. If Damien can't get rid of them, then he might as well use them to give him more power. Once they have outlived their usefulness then he will deal with them himself.
He turns towards Anakin who has been quiet throughout the meeting. "Master Skywalker, do you believe we should give the Power Rangers a chance?"
Anakin turns towards Padme, who smiles at him. He lets out a sigh before he replies. "I believe they have shown no danger towards us and could do a lot of good. I also believe if we show we can trust them then they might reveal themselves to us and show their support towards us."
The Chancellor nods his head in agreement and turns his attention back to the senators. "Very well, I'll inform the Senate of what I plan to do. In the meantime I need you to go to Naboo, Senator Amidala. I heard from the queen that the Gungans are once again considering asking the government to remove the planet from the war."
Padme nods in response and gets up from her seat. "We will leave immediately."
"Master Skywalker," the Chancellor began getting Anakin's attention. "Perhaps you and your former Padawan can join the senator on her journey. Just a precaution."
"Of course," Anakin agreed and showed Padme out of the office. As soon as they left they begin speaking but in a low voice. "Do you really think doing this will get the Senate back on the Chancellor's side?"
"Maybe," Padme replied as they continued halfway out of the office before they stopped. "But I figure if we don't do something to calm everyone down we might lose many of them to the Separatist. As long as we don't try hunting down the Power Rangers."
Anakin nods in agreement with his wife. "I guess you're one of their supporters?"
"Yes," she replied. "I take it your still not convinced?"
"A little, but only because they saved Ahsoka," said Anakin as his expression changed. "You won't mind if I try bringing Ahsoka along for this mission, right?"
Padme shook her head. "I don't mind, but I was wondering if you don't mind me bringing Jake along too."
"Why?" Anakin asked.
"I know you don't like him spending time with Ahsoka. But since she knows about us, you know she likes Jake, and she is no longer your Padawan you might be okay with those two spending time together," said Padme.
"I just don't think it is a wise idea for her to form any attachments like us, especially how difficult it is to hide it from the Council," Anakin argued not wanting Ahsoka to go through what he is going through.
"They won't have to try hiding it alone," said Padme as they walk near part of where they are where there are no guards and cameras. "They'll have us. We'll be able to help them if they do end up wanting to be together. Just give it a chance and if nothing happens then that will be the end of it. What do you say?"
Anakin sees his wife giving him the look that he couldn't say no to. Despite his best efforts and training he hasn't found a way to get passed that look from her.
"All right, I'll give it a chance."
Padme moves up and kisses him on the lips. "Thank you and maybe while we're on Naboo we can have some time to ourselves."
Now that Anakin was happy to say yes to. "All right, but as long as it is only Jake that is coming right? I would hate for us to spend time together and in comes that godmother of yours."
Padme began to giggle. "Don't worry, she won't. So I'll see you tomorrow then."
"Of course, my lady," said Anakin as he kisses his wife goodbye before taking off.
Jedi Temple
Ahsoka is in her room putting her braid away in a box that Padme gave her to keep any special items she wants to safe keep. She takes one last look at it remembering her times as a Padawan before putting the box away. She still can't believe this day has finally happened. It feels almost yesterday that she was send to become Anakin's Padawan.
Now here she is two years later now as a Jedi Knight. No longer a student, but now an equal to her former master. She should be happy, and yet she feels sad. She figures it's because this means she will no longer work with Anakin all the time like they used to.
She knows there will be some missions when they'll be able to go on together, but it still wouldn't feel the same. She then noticed in her box the communicator that Zane gave her in case she ever decided on accepting his offer. Taking the communicator she stares at it thinking back of the story Barriss told her and how Zane wanted her to join the team. It was an offer she probably would have accepted year ago, but now she wasn't sure.
She has seen how Nathan did as the Green Ranger when he fought Torus and Vampira. With that kind of power she would be able to help the others defeat Damien and his forces. Still, it would mean she would have to also lie to those close to her about where she goes during trouble and lie about where she has been. She knows it is for their safety, but it wouldn't feel right doing it.
It doesn't mean she hasn't decided to give up on thinking about the offer. Having that kind of power to help her protect the people she cares about would come in handy when she needs it.
"Ahsoka?" she turns around and hears Barriss's voice behind her door. "Are you there? I need to talk to you." Ahsoka uses the Force to open the door and let her friend in. "Are you busy?"
Ahsoka shook her head. "Just putting my braid away."
She motions to her box, which Barriss recognized. She saw it before when Ahsoka told her that is where she is keeping her communicator, and how it is where she keeps some items that she holds dear.
"Is there something you need?"
Barriss snaps out of her thoughts and clears her throat. "I just came to tell you that I heard the Council are going to send you with Master Skywalker to Naboo to escort Senator Amidala."
"I heard," Ahsoka replied as she puts the box away. "My mas…Anakin told me about it. Wow that is the fifth time today I did that."
"Still thinking of him as your teacher huh?" Barriss asked getting a nod from Ahsoka. "I know what you are going through. After I became a Knight I did the same with Master Luminara."
"The only difference is she is not a Knight, while Anakin still is," Ahsoka pointed out, but understood what her friend is saying. "Still, I get it. Do you still hang out much?"
"Not as much as I wish we could like how you and Anakin hang out," Barriss replied with her expression changing to sadness. "I wish I knew what it is like to have the same kind of relationship you have with Anakin."
Ahsoka walks towards her friend and wraps her arm around her shoulder. "I'm sorry about that."
"It's okay, I have you and the others at least," Barriss replied smiling a little.
"Even Rick?" said Ahsoka giggling when she noticed her friend blush. "Come on, I've seen how you two have been bonding a lot."
Barriss cleared her throat. "You know it's against the code Ahsoka to even think of that. And anyways, shouldn't you be getting ready for your mission?"
Ahsoka points to a bag nearby. "Already packed."
As she picks up her bag she sees Barriss walking towards the box. "You should take the communicator. You know, just in case."
Ahsoka sighed as she walks towards her friend and puts the box away. "I'll be fine. It's not like Damien or the Separatist are going to attack us on Naboo, right?"
Barriss shrugs her shoulders. "I really don't know. With the Separatist we can predict their moves at times. With Damien, it is impossible. He isn't like the enemies we have faced in the past."
Ahsoka couldn't disagree with that. Damien has shown how far he'll send his monsters to get what he wants.
So she opens the box and grabs her communicator. "I'll keep it on hand, but I don't think I'll need it. Anyways, if we do run into a monster Jake can just go ranger, right?"
Barriss giggled a little by how Ahsoka called them morphing. "I suppose so. Just be careful and may the Force be with you."
Ahsoka nods her head. "Thanks and we'll be fine."
Endor
Alpha walk down the hall of the Command Center heading towards the control room to go over the results of the recovery of the Zords. So far all the Zords have recovered from the damages at the hands of Golem. He just needed to run them by with Zane to see if they are ready for another battle. The only problem is he couldn't find Zane at his room, so he hopes to find him at the control room.
"Alpha," turning around he spots Zane walking towards him. "Is there something you need?"
"Zane, where have you been?" Alpha asked.
"I went to see her," Zane replied with his expression changing to a sad one.
Alpha knew who Zane is talking about and figures that is where he was. "How is she?"
"So far things are looking good," said Zane as the two continued walking towards the control room. "It is just taking time for it to be a success."
"But once it works she'll be able to join us again, right?" Alpha asked.
Zane shook his head in response. "I don't want Damien to find out about her. It is better I keep her where she is until he is gone and the galaxy is safe. That reminds me, how are the Zords doing?"
"They are back to themselves again," Alpha replied as he hands Zane the holopad. "However, I do think we should try taking it easy on them until we are absolutely sure they can handle fighting stronger enemies."
Zane nods in agreement with his friend. "That may be the case. If Ahsoka doesn't accept our offer soon then I may need to get involved in the fighting."
"But Zane, if you do that then what will happen if you get hurt? If Damien finds out he could hurt the others," said Alpha worried for the safety of his friends.
"It is a risk we must take," said Zane as they stop in front of the door to the control room. "We must also try figuring out who Damien is working for. I know Count Dooku is a Sith, but I get the feeling whoever he is working for is the true threat we have to deal with."
"I understand. I'll get to work on the possible candidates," said Alpha as he heads inside to get to work.
As he does this Zane couldn't help but sense something is wrong. That something is going to happen. "Damien, what are you up to?"
Coruscant
The republic ship took off from the planet as it begins heading into orbit. Jake and Padme arrived before it took off as they get ready for their arrival to Naboo. Anakin and Ahsoka are on the bridge going over everything before they make the jump to hyperspace. Everything goes well even after all the inspections they go through, but it doesn't hurt for them to make sure nothing will go wrong.
"All systems are go," said Admiral Wullf Yularen as he approaches the two Jedi. "We are ready for the jump to lightspeed."
"Do it," said Anakin as the ship goes through hyperspace. "Looks like everything is going well."
"Hopefully when you say it nothing bad happens this time," said Ahsoka getting a smile out of Anakin.
"Very funny, snips," said Anakin as he turns towards Captain Rex as he enters the room. "Rex, are all the men ready?"
"All ready sir," Captain Rex replied. "Although sir, I am surprise we are taking the ship to escort Senator Amidala."
"After the attacks from Damien's forces we're not taking any risk when it comes to safety of our senators," Anakin replied as he turns towards his former apprentice. "Ahsoka, do you mind checking on them to make sure they're doing okay?"
Ahsoka nods in response. "You got it, Anakin."
As soon as she left the room Captain Rex began speaking again. "Feels like yesterday that the young Padawan we met years ago has finally become a Jedi Knight. She's grown so much since she joined the war and has become a great leader."
"Indeed," Admiral Yularen said in agreement. "That reminds me. Any words on her getting her own troops to command?"
"The Council hasn't figured that part out just yet," Anakin replied. "They decided she will continue to work with me until they make their decision. Why? You interested in working with her, admiral?"
"If you stop destroying our ships I just might," Admiral Yularen replied.
Anakin couldn't help but smile a little. "Well, at least I can count on you Rex to stand by my side."
"The kid is a good leader, but I wouldn't mind sticking by your side sir until this war is over," Captain Rex replied. "Although I think Fives and some of the men wouldn't mind joining her when she gets her own troops to lead."
"No surprise there," right on cue Anakin sees Fives entering the room and approach him with a cloak in his hand. "What do you have there?"
"We found this in the cargo hold sir," Fives replied handing the cloak over to Skywalker. "We looked around, but couldn't find who it belonged to."
Anakin takes a close look at the cloak wondering who it belonged to. He knows his is still in his room so it can't belong to him, and this was too small for it to be Ahsoka. Suddenly he feels something against his hand that doesn't feel like a part of the cloak. After pulling out what he is feeling he finds it is some sort of black scale.
"What is that?" Admiral Yularen asked.
"Some sort of scale," Captain Rex replied as he takes a look at it. "But what does it belong to?"
Anakin began to sense something is wrong and soon comes to a realization of what this is. "Admiral, put the ship on high alert. Lock down all the secure areas and contact the Council," he then turns towards Rex. "Contact all the men. Tell them to be on high alert and be on the lookout for anything that appears inhuman. If they spot it, then shoot it on sight without hesitation. And get some troops outside of Senator Amidala's room right now."
"Sir, what is going on?" Admiral Yularen asked confused on what Skywalker is doing.
"I think Damien send another one of his pets to attack us," Anakin throws the cloak down revealing more scales on it. "And I think whatever it is, it's now onboard the ship."
Admiral Yularen nods understanding the situation and begins going to work. Anakin turns towards Rex, who also takes off to contact the men.
"Ahsoka, can you hear me?" said Anakin as he begins contacting Ahsoka through his com-link.
"Anakin? What is going on?" Ahsoka asked replying through her own com-link.
"One of Damien's monsters in onboard the ship," Anakin replied as he makes his way out of the room. "Stay with Padme and Jake. Do not leave their sight and if you spot the monster, don't fight it."
After a moment of silence, Ahsoka replied. "Understand. Anakin, be careful."
"You too snips," said Anakin as he pulls out his lightsaber.
"Sir!" Captain Rex shouted getting the Jedi's attention. "The men reported shots being fired in the landing bay."
"Let's get going then," said Anakin as they head off to find the monster.
(A minute earlier)
Ahsoka makes her way towards Padme's room where she hopes to spend some time with Jake. After the kiss he gave her yesterday she has been feeling more confident that he likes her, just like she likes him. She still wasn't sure how she was going to tell him since she has never told another boy she likes him. Another reason why she is glad Anakin send her to keep an eye on Padme.
If anyone can help her it is her. As she turns the corner she sees Jake leaving Padme's room looking bored.
"Hey," she said getting his attention. "Is everything okay?"
Jake nods in response. "Yeah, Padme is just talking to the queen and I got bored. What about you?"
"Anakin send me to check on you guy," Ahsoka replied as Jake leans against the wall. "So, you ready to go check Naboo out without it turning into a fight?"
"I am, but I'm also hoping to spend time with you," said Jake smiling at her.
This caused Ahsoka to feel happy to know that Jake wants to spend time with her. Just before she can say anything she hears the ship's alarm going off meaning something is wrong.
"Ahsoka, can you hear me?" said Anakin contacting her through their com-link.
"Anakin? What is going on?" Ahsoka asked concerned about what is happening.
"One of Damien's monsters in onboard the ship," Anakin replied shocking Jake and Ahsoka. "Stay with Padme and Jake. Do not leave their sight and if you spot the monster, don't fight it."
Ahsoka turns towards Jake who takes out his morpher revealing he came prepared. "I need to go find it and stop it before it does anything," he whispered.
Ahsoka nods understanding what Jake has to do. He takes off while she replies to Anakin. "Understand. Anakin, be careful."
"You too, snips," Anakin replied before turning off his com-link.
Padme leaves the room and turns towards Ahsoka concerned. "What is going on?"
"Monster problems," Ahsoka replied as she has Padme get back in the room and closed it. "We'll need to stay here until they find it."
"What about Jake?" Padme asked concerned for the young boy's safety.
"He's okay," she replied lying. "He's with Anakin."
Padme sighed in relief, but it doesn't free her of how she feels. "We're still in hyperspace, aren't we?"
"Not for long," Ahsoka replied as she sits down next to Padme. "They'll check where we are and then exit out of hyperspace. After that backup will arrive and we'll find the monster before anyone gets hurt."
"I hope you are right," said Padme.
Meanwhile
Jake, now in his Red Ranger form holding his power sword, heads towards the hanger bay where he heard fires being shot. He contacted Zane what is going on and that he will try to hold the monster off until the others arrive to back him up. As he gets closer and closer to the room he sees a Clone soldier being tossed through the door. Jake runs to check on him and sees the soldier is dead.
Jake tightens his grip around the handle of his sword and walks into the room where he noticed the destruction inside. The gunships are all destroyed, some of them on fire. The Starfighters are also destroyed with bodies of Clones lying around, some of them covered in blood. Jake keeps his guard up as he looks around for the monster and if there are any survivors.
A hissing noise echoed around the room getting Jake on edge as he looks around for the source of the noise. A tail passes by Jake's head, which almost grabs him if he didn't see it off the reflection off one of the visors of the Clones. He swings his sword and grazes the tail, which retracts. Following the tail he finds where it belongs to.
Standing across from him over the pile of dead bodies of the Clones, is a humanoid snake woman. She hisses at him while in one hand is the head of a Clone soldier.
"You must be one of Damien's monsters?" Jake asked while keeping his guard up.
The snake woman begins to laugh while hissing. "Monster is such a harsh word. I prefer it if you called me, Kobura."
"I prefer monster," Jake replied. "Especially since you did kill all these men."
Kobura looks around at the dead bodies, but doesn't seem to care. "They were fools to think they could kill me, but then again you Power Rangers are just as big of a fools thinking you can stop our master."
"So far we've done a good job defeating his pets, like you," said Jake as he begins moving around trying to find a way to attack the creature, while avoiding that tail of hers.
"The only thing you have done is give my master time to gain more power, which he will unleash on this galaxy when the time comes," said Kobura as she uses her tail to pierce through the chest of one of the dead Clones and lift it. "But please, continue underestimating me, Red Ranger. I will enjoy wrapping my coils around you and squeeze you until you break."
"I would like to see try," said Jake as he gets ready to fight. "Now drop the head and body."
"If you insist," said Kobura as she tosses the body at Jake.
He dodges it, but gets hit with the head staggering him a little. When he turned around though he gets hit with the tail, which is swung at him sending him towards one of the destroyed gunships.
"Oh wow, that hurt," said Jake, but soon his reflexes kicked in as he begins dodging Vampira's tail, which is thrust at him trying to pierce through him.
"Hold still!" she shouted trying to stab him.
Jake stops rolling around and catches the tip of the tail with both hands keeping her from piercing him. She lifts him up and begins slamming him against the destroyed vehicles around them, before tossing him across the floor. Charging at him she extends her claws to slash him, but Jake grabs his sword and swings his sword cutting through the claws. Kobura lets out a painful scream, which increased when Jake slashes her across the back.
He jumps up and delivers a side kick to the head knocking her to the ground. He brings his knee down on her gut and goes to end this fight, but is then blasted off of her by Captain Rex and several Clones.
"Hold your fire!" Anakin ordered as he comes into the room with his men. He sees the Red Ranger appear from the ground holding where he got shot. "Drop your weapon, now!"
"Are you kidding me?!" Jake shouted upset with what Anakin did. "I had her!"
"Had who?" Anakin asked.
Before Jake could answer, Kobura swings her tail hitting Jake and sending him flying into the debris of destroyed Starfighters. They then see Kobura appeared letting out a loud hissing roar at them.
"Open fire!" Anakin ordered as his men blasted the creature, but sees their attacks have no effect on her. "Fall back!"
His men tried to get back, but the snake monster charges at them killing off each Clone before slamming her tail against Rex sending him towards the wall and knocking him out. Anakin activates his lightsaber and slices through the tail, causing her to scream. She quickly grabs him by the neck and begins slamming him to the ground with one hand. She continues this causing Anakin to drop his weapon and gets tossed into the piles of bodies of the Clones.
Anakin tried to recover from the attack, but Kobura tackles him down and pins him to the ground. He struggles to break free, but he finds her grip to be too strong. He then noticed she is re-growing her lost tail, while the old one disintegrated. She begins to giggle when she noticed his surprised expression as she leans down licking where he got cut.
"Hmm your blood tastes good like Vampira said," she replied, but in a seductive tone. "You have done terrible things, Skywalker. It's no wonder my mater is interested in you."
Anakin stare at the snake creature confused by what she meant. "What do you mean, he is interested in me?"
"You'll find out in time," she said as her tail begins moving up. "But for now, I need you to die."
Before she can attack him, Jake appears with his sword in one hand and the Dragon Dagger in the other. He swings his sword to cut her tail in half, and used the dagger to slash her arm causing her to lose her grip. Anakin sees his chance and punches the other arm of Kobura away, allowing him to use his robotic right hand to punch her in the face breaking a tooth. He then kicks her with both feet knocking her back.
Jake uses both weapons to slash her across the chest, and then ducks to allow Anakin to use the Force to sending her towards the wall. Jake then uses his two weapons charging them up, then fires causing part of the wall to fall and crush her.
Once they are sure she is down, Jake helps Anakin up. "You okay?"
Anakin for a moment didn't respond, but for some reason the Red Ranger seems familiar to him. He doesn't know why, but he could sense he can be trusted.
"Yeah, how did you get here?"
"I would love to explain that, but right now we need to help your friend," said Jake pointing at Captain Rex who is still unconscious.
Anakin nods in agreement and goes to check on him. "He's out cold. I need to get him to a medic," he then looks around and sees the destruction that has been left behind. "Did she do this?"
Jake nods in response. "Damien's monsters have no remorse for what they do, and show little mercy towards their victims. That is why he uses them to send fear towards his enemies."
"Do you know why he is interested in me?" Anakin asked recalling what Kobura said to him earlier.
Jake shrugs his shoulders. "Whatever it is, it can't be good." They feel the ship rumble a little, but that is to indicate they got out of hyperspace. "We better finish up Kobura, before she causes anymore problems."
"Your problems have just begun," said Kobura as she bursts through the debris that was on top of her. "Especially the little gift I left onboard this ship."
"What gift?" Anakin asked.
Kobura reveals a controller in her hand with a red button in the middle. "Just some bombs I left on this ship. Once activated it will damage your ship to the point, that it will give you all five to seven minute before this whole ship goes boom!"
"Don't do it!" Jake shouted trying to stop her.
"Too late!" she activates the button and they feel a loud explosion erupt onboard the ship. "Now, let us truly end this fight."
Jake knew they didn't have much time before the ship blows up. "Skywalker, get everyone off this ship. Now!"
"What about you?" Anakin asked.
Jake turns towards Vampira with both weapons in his hand. "I'll deal with her, now please go."
Anakin didn't want to leave, wanting some payback against the monster. However, he knew he had to get everyone including Padme and Ahsoka off the ship.
"Good luck," said Anakin as he helps Rex out of the room.
"Oh no you don't," Kobura tries to stop Skywalker, but is stopped by the Red Ranger. "Out of my way, boy."
"Not a chance," said Jake refusing to back away. "I won't let you hurt any more of my friends. If you want them, you'll have to go through me."
Kobura begins to laugh. "You can't stop me, boy. Without your friends, you can't stop me."
"Wanna bet?" Jake asked as his morpher began to glow green. "Dragonzord Power!"
The gold Dragon Armor of his father appeared over his chest as Jake feels his strength increased. "Now, let's end this fight!"
Kobura hissed in annoyance. "This might actually take more time. Fortunately for me, I always bring a backup plan."
Meanwhile
"Fives, what is going on?" Ahsoka asked leaving the room when she heard an explosion.
"I don't know," Fives replied. "I haven't heard from General Skywalker since he said they found what was attacking the ship."
"Are they okay? Is Jake still with him?" Padme asked concerned for the young man's safety.
"I thought he was with you," said Fives getting a confused expression from Padme, who now turns towards Ahsoka.
"Ahsoka, where is Jake?" she asked.
"He is safe," Ahsoka replied hating that she is lying to her friend, but couldn't tell her the truth with the Clones nearby.
"What do you mean he is safe? Where is he?" Padme asked again getting annoyed.
"He is um…look out!" Ahsoka tackles Padme down as Damien's robots suddenly appeared and opened fire at the Clones. Ahsoka activates her lightsaber and begins deflecting the blasters. "Fives, get Senator Amidala to safety!"
"Yes sir!" Fives replied as he helps Padme up and covers her as they begin to retreat leaving Ahsoka alone.
Anakin appeared behind the robots and charges in at them. He begins slicing through them, getting most of their attention. This allowed Ahsoka to charge at the ones that had their backs turned and begins to slice through them as well. The two Knights finish off the remaining robots and deactivate their weapons.
"Anakin, what is going on?" Ahsoka asked.
"Some sort of monster called Kobura planted some bombs damaging the ship," Anakin replied as they feel the ship shake a little. "In a few minutes it will explode. We need to get everyone off this ship."
"Wait, if you're here then where is Kobura?" Ahsoka asked.
"The Red Ranger is dealing with her," Anakin replied as they hear more blaster fire echoing behind them. "Looks like more of Damien's forces are here. We need to get Padme off this ship."
"And what about the Red Ranger?" she asked worried for Jake's safety.
"He'll be fine. He is a lot tougher than he looks," said Anakin as he takes off to find Padme.
Ahsoka looks back at where Jake is fighting and sighed. "Jake, be careful."
Hanger Bay
Jake continued his fight with Kobura dodging her attacks and using his two weapons to weaken her. Kobura though is proving to be a tough opponent. Her tail was easy to cut through, but the rest of her body is strong as armor keeping him from getting his attacks through. Even with both weapons he can't lay any serious damages to her.
"Give it up, Red Ranger!" Kobura shouted as she slithers up one of the gunships. "By the time you find any way to pierce through me your time will be up. Even if we had all the time in the world, you won't be able to kill me."
"Not alone at least!" Kobura turns around and is shot off the gunship by Rachel, who used her bow and arrow. "Did you miss me?"
"Did I ever," said Jake happy to see his sister. "Where are the others?"
Rachel runs towards her brother and tells him in a low voice. "Barriss and Lux are in a meeting, and Rick is helping the Clones fight off the robots. So it is just you and me, fighting this ugly snake witch together."
Jake couldn't help but smile. "All right, let's take her down."
"We'll see about that!" Kobura shouted as she lifts the gun ship and tosses it at the Power Rangers. "I'll deal with you first, witch!"
Kobura slithers towards Rachel, who opens fire, but she missed. Kobura wraps herself around Rachel and begins to crush her. Jake comes to her aid, but Kobura spits a yellow vile at him hitting his face. It didn't go through, but he couldn't see through the yellow haze.
"Looks like your friend won't get to watch me break you in half," said Kobura laughing at the Power Rangers as she moves her face towards the Pink Ranger. "Any last word before I devour you?"
"Yeah…Dam…you!" She delivers a head-butt hitting Kobura in the face breaking two of her teeth.
Jake hears the bashing sound and after recalling his training he figures where Kobura is at. He charges his weapons and charges at her. Luckily Kobura loosened her grip on Rachel allowing her to break free as she pulls out her blaster and fires hitting the monster in the face. Jake jumps up just as Kobura begins staggering towards him.
He brings both weapons down and delivers a heavy damage weakening her. Kobura falls to the ground screaming in pain, but did not get destroyed. Jake goes to end the fight, when Kobura pulls out the electric whip she took earlier and lashes it at a nearby canister. It blows up sending the two Power Rangers off their feet towards the ground.
They begin to recover from the force of the explosion, only to see Kobura is gone. "Damn it, she's gone."
"And we need to go before this place blows up," said Rachel as she helps her brother up.
"What about the others?" Jake asked worried for their safety.
"They're okay," said Rick as he enters the room and is surprised to see the carnage. "Whoa, what happened in here?"
"Don't worry about it," said Rachel wanting them to focus on the task at hand. "Where are Skywalker, Padme, and Ahsoka?"
"They got to the escape pods," said Rick. "But that is not the problem right now."
"What is?" Jake asked as they hear loud footsteps coming their way.
"I brought some friends," said Rick as on cue an army of robots appeared and opened fire.
"Not cool, Rick!" Rachel shouted as they took cover. "We don't have time to deal with them."
"That is why we need to go, now!" said Rick as they feel the ship begin to shake even harder.
"He's right," said Jake as he turns towards the control panel for the shield rays. "Rick, open the doors, while Rachel take out the ray shields, and then we'll get Alpha to get us out of here."
Rick and Rachel nod their heads understanding Jake's plan. He begins contacting Alpha while Rick runs towards the controllers and begins opening the doors. After grabbing hold of something solid, Rachel takes out her blaster and fire at the control panel shutting down the ray shields causing everything to get sucked out including the robots. Luckily for the Power Rangers they got transported out just before getting sucked out themselves.
Meanwhile
Anakin and Ahsoka helped get everyone to the escape pods, while holding off the robots. They saw fewer robots to deal with after the Blue Ranger appeared to lure many of the robots away. This made Ahsoka and Anakin's job easier as they help the remaining soldiers in the escape pods. All except for Admiral Yularen who is still on the bridge checking to see if there are any troops left that haven't gotten to the escape pods.
"Ahsoka, stay here with Padme until I get back. Rex, come with me," Anakin ordered as he takes off to find the admiral with Rex.
Ahsoka turns towards Padme who begins approaching her. "Ahsoka, where is Jake. I know you are hiding something from me and I want to know what it is."
Ahsoka knew she couldn't lie to Padme any longer, especially since she is worried for Jake's safety. "Okay, but you have to promise me you won't tell anyone. Not even to Anakin, at least until I am sure he will be okay with it."
"What are you talking about? What aren't you telling me?" Padme asked.
"Just please promise me and I'll tell you," Ahsoka pleaded wanting to tell Padme, but needs to be sure she won't tell anyone.
Padme sighed in annoyance and agrees. "Fine, I promise I won't tell anyone or even Anakin. Just tell me already."
"Okay," Ahsoka breathed in and then out. "Didn't you notice that during that fight on Naboo when the Power Rangers appeared to help, that we didn't know where Jake and the others were?"
"They were with Nathan and Barriss," Padme replied wondering why Ahsoka brought it up.
"Yeah and how the Red Ranger suddenly appeared as soon as Jake disappeared?" Ahsoka kept hinting what she is trying to say without actually saying it in case Anakin comes back to overhear them.
After a minute Padme begins to realize where she was going with this. "Wait, you mean Jake and the others are?"
Ahsoka nods in response as Padme sits down inside the escape pod shocked by all of this. "I can't believe it. I wonder if Alexis knows about this."
"Knows about what?" Anakin asked as he comes back with the admiral.
"About the attack going on right now on the ship," said Ahsoka while turning towards Padme. "And hoping she won't get mad even after putting her son onboard an escape pod, right?"
Padme clears her throat and agrees with Ahsoka. "Yep, I was just worried that Alexis might not want Jake to go on another trip with us if this happens again."
"Hopefully it won't after Master Mundi arrive with backup," said Anakin as he helps the admiral onboard the ship. "Now let's get out of here. Is everyone ready?"
"Not me," suddenly a tail wraps around Anakin's waist and is pulled away from the escape pod towards the wall. Ahsoka looks up and sees a large humanoid snake woman appeared from the ceiling as she stands between Anakin and the escape pods. "Leaving so soon? We haven't finished playing our game."
"Anakin!" Ahsoka activates her lightsabers and goes to help, but is spat in the face by a yellow substance that hits her eyes. Ahsoka begins to scream in pain as the attack blinded her.
"Ahsoka!" Anakin used the Force to send Kobura to the wall as he tries to get to Ahsoka, but is then tackled by the snake. "Out of my way!"
He tries using the Force, but Kobura kept a tight grip. Captain Rex opened fire, helping Anakin break free of her grip. He then tossed a grenade at her as Anakin takes cover. The explosion knocked her back, but it didn't kill her.
Anakin helps Ahsoka towards the escape pod, while Rex grabs her lightsabers. Padme pulls out a canteen and begins pouring the water on Ahsoka's eyes
"Open your eyes, Snips," said Anakin trying to help wash off the substance from Ahsoka's eyes.
"It hurts!" Ahsoka shouted as she struggles to open her eyes, but each time they burned her.
"I know it does, but you have to try," said Padme as she sees Ahsoka slowly open her eyes allowing her to wash the substance away. "Ani, we need to go. Now."
Anakin was about to agree with her, but then saw Kobura grabs him and throws him across the floor. She then turns towards Padme and the others as she is about to attack them.
"No!" Anakin uses the Force to keep Kobura from attacking them, but is barely keeping her back. "Rex! Get them out of here, now!"
"Ani, no!" Padme shouted, as she tries to stop Anakin, but the admiral kept her back.
"You have to get out. There is no time!" Anakin shouted as he uses taps more into the Force to pull Kobura away. "Do it!"
"Master!" Ahsoka shouted as she tries to get up, but was too hurt to move.
Anakin turns towards Padme who looks like she is ready to cry. "I love you." He uses the Force to slam Kobura away towards him as Rex presses the button to eject the pod.
"Anakin!" Ahsoka and Padme shouted as the escape pod leaves the ship just seconds before it exploded.
Ahsoka began to try using the Force to sense for Anakin. To see if he is alive, but after a minute of searching she couldn't sense anything but darkness.
"He can't be gone," she whispered. "We have to go back. Maybe he could be…he has to be…he can't be…"
Padme stops Ahsoka and brings her close for a hug. It is then that both women realized that the man they both cared about is now gone. Ahsoka begins breaking down in tears, while Padme tries her best to hold back her own. Captain Rex and Admiral Yularen lowered their heads in respect for their loss, while the women comfort one another as Ki-Adi-Mundi's ships arrived.
"This is General Mundi. Does anybody read me?"
Admiral Yularen goes to the controls and replies. "This is Admiral Yularen, we're here General Mundi."
"Admiral, is everyone okay?" Master Mundi asked.
The admiral turns towards the women and then replied. "No sir. There's something you should know."
Is Anakin dead? Did we just kill off Anakin? Well it is more like did I kill him off, but I guess you could count my friend since we did agree on this idea. But is he really gone?
Is Anakin gone? Why did Damien send Kobura to kill him if they have plans for him? Did we do something that you guys weren't expecting? And why did we go with this direction?
All good things will be explained in time, but for now yep we are ending it like this. Sorry guys, not the best way to begin 2015 huh? But don't worry you'll find out what happens next time with the next arc chapters that we have set up. What is going to happen?
