Legends of the Lasat

Five days flew by quickly and Hera was now healed back to full health, much to Errol's delight. They both had passionate sex for a short while to celebrate.

A few passed after that and now the Ghost crew were flying towards a planet named Nixus, directly to a base named Hub 218 because of a tip from a contact about a couple of refugees being held as prisoners.

They landed in one of the hangars and exited the ship, prepared whatever may come at them.

"Ezra, I'm proud of you for taking the lead on this rescue mission." Hera told the Padawan.

"You would've done the same thing." He replied.

"You said these people are wanted by the Empire. Do you know why?" Kanan asked Ezra.

"No, but I hear they're closing in. We better hurry." Ezra stated.

"So where'd you hear about these refugees anyway?" Zeb asked.

"Huh? Oh, you know, one of our, uh, contacts. Speaking of, Chopper, you better let him know we're here." Ezra said, oddly looking over to Errol, who narrowed his eyes in suspicion. Chopper then pulled out a light green transmitter out of one of his compartments.

"Hey, where'd you get that transmitter?" The 18 year old Sabine asked in confusion. Chopper muttered to Ezra, ignoring her.

"There's no answer! We better hurry." He told everyone.

They progressed further into the cargo hold and Errol got in front of everyone, peeking around a corner to see some Stormtroopers and an Imperial Officer, making him signal them to hide behind him.

"We might be too late." He whispered to them.

"Drag those refugees out of there." The Officer ordered a couple of the Troopers to open the large container in front of them.

"Move!" One of them ordered the refugees in the container. One of them had a staff as they exited. And then there was another exiting the container. They had their hands up, though Errol can see that they looked very familiar. They're Lasat!

"Guys, the refugees are Lasat!" He whispered to the crew, shocking them all, especially Zeb.

"Move!" One Trooper shoved his blaster on the male Lasat, who was taller than the female Lasat with the staff.

"Where are you taking us?" The male Lasat asked

"To a detention facility for a nice, long stay." The Officer bragged.

"Hmm. More likely a blaster squad." The Lasat said as he and the female Lasat were about to be escorted. That was when Zeb roared as he knocked a Trooper out cold and then another before getting shot at, though Kanan, Hera and Sabine handled the rest and then aimed their blasters at the Officer, who put his hands up, not seeing Errol come up behind him and punching him hard enough to be knocked out. Ezra stood next to him when a certain alien that Errol hates peeked out from behind them with a container full of money in his arm.

"Hello, hello!" Hondo called out, making Errol's eyes widen and turned around to glare angrily at him, as did everyone, excluding Ezra.

"You arrived just in time, as I knew you would." Hondo then said, patting Ezra's arm. Errol then rounded on Ezra.

"Bridger, your contact is this slippery liar? What are you thinking?!" He snapped at him.

"Y-You could've warned me the Empire was here." Ezra told Hondo, trying his best to ignore a now mad Errol.

"Ah, but I sold the Lasats to the Empire knowing the heroes would save the day. *chuckles* You being the heroes, of course." Hondo stated.

"Ezra, seriously, what are you thinking? Have you forgotten what Errol told us about him?" Hera reminded the teen.

"To be fair, he contacted me." Ezra tried to make it seem like it was something else.

"Yes, to be fair. Because I knew these two belonged with that one." Hondo said, pointing to the Lasat and to Zeb. The two Lasat looked at Zeb, surprised and glad.

"It is him, Captain Orrelios." The male said.

"*gasps* By the Ashla. The prophecy!" The female was elated, confusing everyone except for Zeb himself.

"Captain?" Ezra repeated, not knowing of his past that much.

"Yes. Captain Garazeb Orrelios of the Lasan High Honour Guard." The female then said, walking up to Zeb with the male, backing Zeb against a container and then they bowed to him, making Zeb groan in embarrassment.

"*laughs* A reunion! I was right again. How wonderful. Hondo could use a little help." Hondo said, kneeling to move the bodies of the Troopers and the Officer. Errol narrowed his eyes at him as he, Sabine and Kanan moved the bodies.

"I thought I was just about the last of us. How is this possible?" Zeb questioned.

"Do you remember me, Captain?" The male asked him, making Zeb take a good look at him, stroking his chin.

"You look familiar." He said.

"Gron. I served under you in the guard. This is Chava the Wise." He revealed his name and introduced the female.

"Oh, yeah, I know who she is." Zeb said, looking away from her. This was all shocking for his crew members as he hardly said anything from his past.

"I didn't know you were a captain." Ezra said.

"He didn't even say anything to us." Errol told him, looking at Hera.

"It was so long ago I… I forgot." Zeb confessed guiltily.

"We have not." Chava said.

"Well, we've gotta get you out of here." Ezra told her and Gron.

"Oh, wait, wait. Does this mean I am not getting my finder's fee?" Hondo questioned.

"You never were." Ezra told him.

"You deserve any kind of fee at all, you greedy bastard." Errol added with venom as they all escorted the Lasat out of the cargo hold.

The crew escorted through the hallways of the hub, heading back to their ship.

"So, tell us where you're headed." Ezra asked Chava.

"Our new world, Lira San. Prophesied in the ancient Lasat writings. It is a safe system where our people can begin anew." She detailed, making Zeb roll his eyes in disbelief.

"*groans* Look. The only safe system for us was Lasan and it was destroyed." He retorted.

"Lasan was not destroyed. It was transformed as part of the future destiny of our people." Gron corrected him, though Zeb still didn't believe in all of this.

"There's no future destiny. Everything is gone." He added, though Chava laughed at this.

"We are not gone. We carry the ways of Lasan within us and will until we reach our new home. Everything is happening as it was meant to." She said, all of them unaware that Hondo aided some Stormtroopers in locating them, and informed Kallus that they've found them and how Hondo is their informant.

"Ezra, my boy. It's your pal Hondo." They heard over the transmitter Chopper had. He handed it to Ezra as they all stopped at an intersection.

"What is it, Hondo?" He asked.

"Just so you know, there are, uh…. *sniffs* ….Stormtroopers on their way." Hondo revealed, surprising Ezra, but Errol knew fully well that Hondo told the Troopers so he grabbed the transmitter.

"More like you told them about us, snake!" He snarled right before blaster fire came in. Errol crushed the transmitter, ignoring Ezra, who complained, and joined Hera, Kanan and Sabine in firing back at the Troopers.

"They've got backup!" Kanan said as they moved forward and Sabine grabbed a blaster from a downed Trooper.

"So do we. Here!" Sabine pointed out, throwing the blaster to Gron, but they just hit him.

"Oh, no. We do not fight. It is no longer our way." He informed everyone before getting tackled out of the way of a blaster bolt by Zeb. Ezra provided cover fire for Chava, Slick and Chopper.

"What? You're Lasat. You're warriors. 'Course you fight!" Zeb was disappointed at this revelation. Errol and Hera took cover and fired at some Troopers down the hallway in front of them.

"This just keeps getting better." She commented.

"Thanks to Ezra naivety." Errol told her.

"Hey!" Ezra groaned, hearing that as the Stormtroopers closed in on them.

"We'll never get through now." Hera pointed out to Kanan.

"Well, we can't go back." Kanan replied as the Stormtroopers kept up on their barrage of blaster fire. In one of the hallways, Hondo sneaked up and closed up the hallways behind the crew and the refugees.

"What happened?" Ezra questioned.

"Don't know, don't care." Errol told him as he and Hera fired back at a few remaining Troopers as Sabine rolled out and fired at the last one, taking him down.

"Let's go!" Errol called out and they all ran for it back to the hangar, taking down more Stormtroopers and entering the Ghost.

Hera and Errol got in the pilot seats with Ezra and Kanan on the seats behind them and Chava and Gron were up in the cockpit as well as the couple lifted the ship off the ground as Zeb got on the Nose Gun and fired back at the Stormtroopers.

Eventually, they flew out of there, leaving the planet's atmosphere, but then an Imperial cruiser exited out of Hyperspace.

"Imperial cruiser." Errol pointed at it.

"I see it." His girlfriend nodded. They flew past it though and entered Hyperspace before anything else could happen.

"Errol, I know you don't trust Hondo, but can't you just move past what happened?" Ezra asked Errol as Gron and Chava left the bridge.

"Oh really, move past the fact that he captured and tortured my mom while she was pregnant with me? Move past the fact that he sells out anyone for even a credit? No, I cannot. And you can't trust him in the slightest. Your naivety could kill you sooner than later, Ezra." Errol explained coldly, revealing more of what Hondo did to his family. That ended the conversation and Ezra knew he wasn't going to win this conversation, especially since Kanan and Hera looked at him to say sorry.

"Alright. I'm sorry, Errol." He apologized. Then Chava, Gron, Zeb and Sabine entered.

"Okay, so where is this new world we're taking you?" Kanan asked the Lasat.

"We do not yet have the location of Lira San." Chava answered.

"We have maps if you need 'em." Hera told her.

"There is no Lira San, Hera. It's a myth, an old legend." Zeb muttered bitterly.

"The time has come to prepare the ritual that will guide us to our new home." Chava proclaimed, ignoring Zeb, who grew more frustrated at her. Ezra noticed this.

"Come on, I'll help you get set up." He told Gron and Chava, escorting them out of the bridge to the common room.

"*sighs* Better go make sure they don't drive that kid crazy." Zeb muttered before following them.

"This is going to be an interesting ride." Sabine noted as she sat on the free seat.

Eventually, Kanan left to the common room and some time after, Hera, Errol and Sabine heard chanting, which sounded like it was from Chava and Gron. Errol left for Hera to pilot and saw the two Lasat on the ground with Ezra, chanting over some drawings on the ground.

Zeb looked like he had enough and left with his bo-rifle, Errol followed him and saw him pacing back and forth in his quarters.

"Zeb… I know you may not believe in all of this, but what if this is a chance to help your people? Do you really want nothing to do with them?" He asked him.

"Chanting ain't gonna help save anybody." Zeb told him as he sat on his bed.

"What makes you so sure?" Errol asked, sitting next to him.

"As captain of the Honour Guard I was responsible for protecting the royal family and every single Lasat. Their safety was my duty." The Lasat explained, sounding grim.

"But you couldn't have stopped the Empire on your own." Errol tried to reason.

"I fought to the end. We held the palace. And then there was a bomb. And when I woke up, it was all just gone. We retreated. I was as good as dead… at least until Kanan found me. Huh. Karabast!" Zeb further explained.

"I can't imagine what that would be like. It all sounded like you lost everyone. But because you're alive, you now have to help your people again." Errol pointed out how he has a chance to make up for what happened.

"They called me Captain. I don't deserve to be called that. I failed my people that day." Zeb scolded himself.

"Don't fail them now, then." Errol stated and this time, Zeb sank in all that Errol told him and now he felt reinvigorated and so they went back to the common room where everyone gathered around.

"Mah-seeta, for-na-ka-tee-lala." Gron and Chava chanted.

"Eeee, ah, naa." Chava then finished.

"We are ready for your map." Gron told the crew. Errol nodded to Slick, who beeped before he projected a hologram of a star map.

"The path to Lira San will be revealed through the fates of the Three." Chava explained as she positioned her staff in front of Slick and the gem on her staff started glowing, which affected the map.

"The Child must save the Warrior and the Fool." She then said before looking at the map.

"The Child must show us the way." She then said, looking at Zeb, and he nudged Ezra, thinking that he's the Child.

"No. The child of Lasan." Chava revealed, meaning that the Child is actually Zeb.

"Wait, wait. I'm the Child? I really wanted to be the Warrior. *growls*" Zeb whined.

"You're kinda acting like a child." Ezra mocked. Errol smacked him in the arm.

"Don't, Ezra." He warned him. Zeb then stepped forward.

"Your bo-rifle, as the ancients used it." Gron told him. Zeb then moved part of it to form a particular shape and then he placed it in the map, when it formed a mass of electricity with bolts forming, touching various planets randomly until it showed a bunch of star systems.

"Those systems are beyond the Outer Rim, in Wild Space. Not on any map." Kanan pointed out.

"The Child must show us the way." Chava said. A bolt of electricity then started to touch a particular planet a lot.

"That's it. That's it. Lira San." Zeb said, shocked at this development.

Both Errol and Hera got back in the pilot seats with Sabine joining them in the cockpit.

"*sighs* How far is it to Lira San?" She asked the couple.

"Well, judging by this-" Hera was about to explain when the ship suddenly shook.

"What the hell?" Errol questioned with concern. One of the monitors beeped in red.

"Errol, power down the Hyperdrive. I'll ready the shields. Chopper!" Hera shouted. Chopper muttered as he entered and inserted into the mainframe.

"What's wrong?" Ezra asked as he and Kanan rushed in.

"Something seems to be in our path." Errol said as he powered the Hyperdrive down.

They exited Hyperspace and saw something that left them speechless.

"An imploded star cluster." Errol said, only having heard of them.

"This is the biggest one I've ever seen." Hera told them all as they got closer to it.

"Nice save." Kanan thanked her.

"If we get any closer, the gravity field will destroy us." Hera explained as Gron entered.

"What happened? Are we on course?" He asked.

"Sure are, but our course is blocked by the worst kind of space anomaly we could've encountered." Sabine answered him.

"This is what happens when we jump into uncharted space." Hera added as Chava and Zeb entered.

"Ah. This is the maze that was prophesied." She proclaimed.

"Wait, a maze? You never said anything about a maze. You prophecy types always pull something like this." Zeb snarled, being fed up with all of this. But then the alarm started beeping, getting everyone's attention.

"Ugh. Now what?" He asked right before the same Imperial cruiser from before exited Hyperspace behind them.

"Attention, Rebels. As much as I might like to watch you consumed by the maelstrom before you, I will offer you a chance to surrender, an opportunity for survival." Kallus warned them over their comms.

"How did he find us?" Zeb asked.

"I think I know how." Errol growled, looking at Ezra's arm and noticed a small beeping light that nearly blended with his jacket. He grabbed it and pulled it off to show that it was a tracker.

"Hello, my friends!" Hondo greeted them.

"Hondo, you put a tracker on Ezra, didn't you?" Errol asked.

"You are correct, young man." Hondo replied.

"Errol's right, I shouldn't have trusted you." Ezra told him as Errol smashed the tracker to pieces.

"You have one minute to prepare for boarding or to be destroyed." Kallus then warned again.

"I can't believe this. Kallus has got us." Zeb admitted the first sign of defeat.

"He plays his part, as Warrior." Chava said.

"Wait, he is the Warrior? And I got stuck being the Child?" Zeb questioned the prophecy even further.

"There are many warriors, fools and children, Captain. The child in you can't see how things are but how they can be. The fool denies his destiny but it is the warrior you are who will create one. You are never one of these. In time, you become all of them." Chava gave him the words needed to make him reconsider everything about himself and his role in this prophecy.

"Ezra, bring me my bo-rifle." He told the Padawan, who ran to go get it.

"What are you thinkin', buddy?" Kanan asked his friend as Ezra came back with the bo-rifle.

"You can do this, Zeb. I know it." He told him as he handed the item to him, igniting it.

"Just like the ancients used it." Zeb repeated as he walked up to the front of the cockpit.

"Your time is up, Rebels." Kallus reminded them through the comms and Zeb pressed his bo-rifle on the floor and then placed it above the console between Errol and Hera, jolts of electricity connecting with the console.

"What's going on?" Errol asked.

"I'm leading the way." Zeb told him.

"Zeb!" Hera shouted at him as the electricity from the bo-rifle consumed the console.

"Trust me, Hera." Zeb assured her, the ship heading straight to the cluster, a couple of TIE Fighters following after them.

Zeb then stabbed the console with the bo-rifle, causing the whole ship to be consumed by the electric energy. As they got closer to the cluster, the TIEs were destroyed. The cruiser then started firing at them, but the blaster bolts moved away as though there was some magnetic field surrounding the Ghost. Eventually, the cruiser stopped pursuing them, under Kallus' orders, thinking they'll be destroyed.

"I see it! The way through!" Zeb told everyone as he moved the bo-rifle a bit more.

"I don't know how, but the Hyperdrive is activating." Hera said as bolts of electricity touched the Hyperdrive controls and punched in coordinates. And as they were about to make contact with the star cluster, they entered Hyperspace. Unlike the normal stormy blue in Hyperspace, it was now multicoloured. It blinded everyone as Zeb held his strength to keep going.

Eventually, they made it out of Hyperspace in a star system surrounded with clouds.

Everyone was unconscious until they started to wake up, Slick bumping Ezra lightly for him to wake up as he was on the floor.

""What happened?" He asked, blinking himself awake. Errol woke up from Ezra's voice and looked at Zeb, who laid on the console.

"Hey, Zeb, wake up." He bumped him as Kanan, Ezra and Gron got him on his feet.

"You okay, bud?" Errol asked him.

"*sighs* I've had worse. I've never seen better." He told him, looking out the windshield in awe and wonder.

"We're home." He then said, looking at the sun and planets orbiting it.

"Lira San." Chava breathed out with a grin. Everyone smiled as well, having found the new home for the Lasat.

Zeb left on the Phantom with Gron and Chava to Lira San to check the place out. Both Ezra and Errol, along with Slick, were in the cockpit, looking out the windshield in silence. Kanan then joined them.

"Zeb has been down there a while. Are you sure he's coming back?" Ezra asked his Master.

"Pretty sure." Kanan replied.

"Yeah, there's no way he'd leave us." Errol backed him up. The trio then saw the Phantom approach, meaning Zeb is indeed back.

"You were right." Ezra said, Slick beeping how glad he is for Zeb to be back. Then Chopper, Sabine and Hera entered, Chopper beeping in a grumpy mood.

"Well, I'm sorry, Chopper. You're gonna have to put all of Zeb's stuff back in his room." Hera told her droid, who grumbled.

"Kinda sad, those two Lasat all alone on that planet." Sabine said.

"They're not alone." Zeb revealed as he walked up to the crew.

"There's others on that planet?" Errol asked, surprised to hear this.

"Yes. There are already Lasat down there. Lira San is where my people originally came from." He nodded. Slick beeped in confusion.

"Yeah, there's more like him on that planet." Errol chuckled. This made Chopper grumble again.

"Yes. We can go home now." Hera said.

"Yeah. How do we get home?" Ezra asked.

"Consider this system charted which means now that the Ghost has been here, we can always come back." Hera explained.

"And if we meet any other Lasat, I will show them the way." Zeb said, sounding and looking proud.

Once they made it back home to the fleet, Errol and Hera were in bed together, Errol only wearing pyjama bottoms and Hera, only wearing knickers and a boob tube top.

"That was one heck of a mission." Errol said as he stroked Hera's hand, which he held.

"Yeah. Not everyday do we learn that a whole race is still around, safe and sound from the Empire." She smiled, resting her head on Errol's shoulder.

"At least we can now relax until our next mission." He pointed out, kissing her on the forehead.

"Taking a break does sound nice. Goodnight, Errol." She said, sharing a kiss on the lips with her boyfriend.

"Goodnight, Hera." He said and then they dozed off into a peaceful sleep.

Does anyone agree that one of Ezra's worst traits is how trusting and naive he can be with Hondo after all that he's done?
