"Okay everyone listen up. I know this is the last day of school but first before we leave we need to finish picking our partners for this year's summer pen pal project. When I draw a name stand if you want to be partner." Linus says as he starts drawing names from a bowl.
*Timeskip*
"There you are. We were looking for you." Alexis says as she and Linus find Charlie by a fence.
"Charlie Brown where have you been? It's the first day of summer. You should be down there having fun with everyone else." Linus says as he and Alexis are eating some cotton candy.
"I can't stop thinking about it guys. After all the humiliating disasters she witnessed this year. Why would she choose me? Was she feeling sorry for me? I don't want her to choose me just because she was sorry for me. I have more dignity than that." Charlie says confusedly.
"Maybe it's because you're actually a good person and more likable than you realize." Alexis says.
"But you know you'll never really know the answer unless-" Linus then gets cut off by Charlie.
"I just go up and talk to her. I should have listen to you all along." Charlie says as he runs off.
"I know someone else who could stand to listen to me." Linus says as Alexis looks at him.
"It won't happen. I'm gonna go home. Mom wanted my help with tidying up the backyard for our cook out with family next week." Alexis says.
*Timeskip*
"Alexis are you almost done!?" Alexis's mom shouts from inside the house.
"Nearly there mom! I just- oof!" Alexis says as she backs into someone while dragging some furniture.
"Alexis? What are you doing?" A voice asks revealing to be Charlie.
"Oh uh hey Charlie. Just trying to clean up the yard. Easy with four legs to push and pull stuff. Why are you here?" Alexis asks.
"Linus told me about you liking me." Charlie says as he blushes causing Alexis to blush.
"He did what? I asked him not to." Alexis says embarrassedly.
"Don't be mad at him. I asked because well I like you too. I just thought you were angry at me over the whole thing with the new girl." Charlie says shyly.
"Angry no. Jealous perhaps but not angry." Alexis says.
"So you do like me?" Charlie asks.
"Yeah. I just thought you didn't feel that way." Alexis says as she looks down.
"I do. I'm sorry it took me this long to speak up." Charlie says as Alexis smiles at him softly.
"It's alright. We know now. Right?" Alexis asks as she chuckles.
"Yeah! Hey uh would you want to come over later and watch a movie with me? Just the two of us?" Charlie asks as he smiles.
"Love to... but first I need to finish getting this yard straightened up." Alexis says as she starts pushing furniture
"I'll help you." Charlie says.
"You sure?" Alexis asks.
"Of course. It's my way of saying I care about you." Charlie says as he smiles.
"Good old Charlie Brown." Alexis says as she smiles happily.
