The Antilles Extraction
After the whole ordeal with Maul and the Holocrons, Errol immediately met up with his parents and told them about what Bendu told him and of the visions he saw, shocking them both at the news that Obi-Wan might actually still be alive. Errol also had been deep in thought of his new development on his feelings for Hera. He had to talk with his family and Cham Syndulla about marriage.
A couple of weeks passed with nothing significant happening. Errol chatted with some of the Rebels at Chopper Base when he saw the Ghost crew all gathered around the holotable with Sato.
"I gotta go." He told the Rebels he chatted with, they nodded in understanding and he made his way to the holotable.
"What's going on?" He asked everyone.
"*sighs* The supply run to Teralov failed. And we lost the entire escort of A-Wings, meaning six pilots and the transport's whole crew." Hera told him.
"*sighs* The Empire at this rate will wipe out all pilots in the Rebellion sooner than we could push back at them." Errol groaned in frustration.
"Fortunately, I have been working on a solution with the help of Fulcrum." Sat explained.
"But Dash and Ahsoka are already here with us." Ezra said, confused.
"It's a code name for secret informants. My parents came up with the whole thing. There are plenty of other Fulcrum agents out there, which include my parents." Errol said before the Fulcrum symbol appeared on the holotable.
"I have information that may help you replace your stable of pilots. There are Imperial cadets at the Skystrike Academy who wish to defect to the Rebels. I do not know their names, though another Fulcrum Agent told me that one is named Wedge Antilles. And they all require some assistance to escape. I suggest you move quickly, before the Empire discovers their intentions. Fulcrum out." The heavily altered and warbled voice explained before cutting off.
Errol saw a flash of blue, white and orange in the corner of his eyes. As everyone came up with a plan, he ignored them as he looked over to the right and saw both his parents and grandmother in deep discussion, Alaara having a concerned look on her face. Ahsoka noticed him and waved him over, wanting to talk with him.
"Hey, guys. My family wants to talk with me, can you do this mission without me?" Errol told everyone. They agreed and allowed him, Hera giving him a kiss on the cheek as he left them and walked over to his family.
"What's going on?" He asked them.
"Your grandmother has just received an urgent distress call from a medical frigate under a Rebel crew." His 34 year old mom explained.
"What happened?" Errol then asked with concern.
"They were attacked by a group of pirates and are in need of aid. We're gonna go help them." She elaborated.
"Why us in particular?" He asked, not seeing how different this is compared to any other mission. Maul, Vader and Inquisitors aren't involved.
"Because the frigate's captain is a dear friend of mine, Zeena. I need to make sure she's alright." Alaara answered. Errol now understood why she looked concerned.
"Alright. I don't mind helping them." He said, having no reservations. He turned to go get ready when his 35 year old dad grabbed hold of his shoulder to stop him.
"You should know that your grandmother is coming with us." Dash informed him. Errol's eyebrows furrowed with hesitance.
"Are you sure? I know she's good, but-"
"Did you forget that I was trained by Rex and the clones? I may be older but I'm no slouch, so I'm going." The 54 year old Togruta replied, with a look that said 'do you really want to call a woman old?'. Seeing that she won't back down and that there isn't room for debate, Errol accepted her joining the mission.
"Alright, then. Let me get ready and I'll inform the others I'll be busy." He said before jogging off while his parents and grandmother went to find a ship they could use.
The family were in Hyperspace, flying a U-Wing that was recently acquired by the Rebellion, heading to where the frigate was attacked and with both Dash and Ahsoka acting as the pilots, Errol and Alaara sat next to each other.
"How long have you known this Zeena?" He asked her, wanting to talk about something before they reach their destination.
"Since I've joined the Rebellion with Rex. We both bonded over having been saved by slavers. She's also a mother, fighting for her children. You'd like her." She explained. Errol remembered his parents telling him the story of when they saved her during the Clone Wars.
"We're just about here." Dash informed them. The two got up and walked up behind the couple to look out the windshield as they exited Hyperspace to see a Nebulon-B Frigate, which was connected with a Darius G-Class Freighter. It's clear what happened.
"The pirates must've boarded already." Ahsoka said.
"We must hurry." Alaara replied and then they flew over to the side of the frigate and attached onto the airlock. The four then cautiously made their way into the frigate and split up, searching down the corridors, rooms and everywhere else for any sign of the Rebels or the pirates and yet nothing. It was as though they just mysteriously disappeared.
Something strange has happened.
Everyone met up on the bridge.
"Anything?" Errol asked his parents and grandmother.
"Nothing. I don't get it." Dash said, placing his hands on his hips, confused.
"Well, let's look at the console and what it has to say." Ahsoka said and they all walked up to the console. Errol looked through the info and monitors and there was a piece of info that worried him.
"It seems that the fuel's depleted. Like, fully depleted." He informed everyone, making them all the more confused.
"What the hell's going on?" Alaara asked and then abruptly the ship shook a bit and the answer as to why came from them seeing the freighter detaching from the frigate and even the U-Wing they flew in was detached.
"What?!" Everyone shouted in shock. That was when an incoming transmission came in and once it was on, all four were furious to see that they saw none other than Hondo. And next to him was a female Rodian with jade skin and a red mohawk wearing a blue Rebel jumpsuit.
"Hello, there. Nice little reunion." Hondo greeted as though nothing was going on.
"Zeena!" Alaara called out, recognising the Rodian. Zeena didn't reply as she was held at gunpoint by Hondo and was cuffed behind her back.
"What are you doing, Hondo?" Dash asked with cold fury, getting sick and tired of dealing with this thorn in his and his family's side.
"Oh, simple really. I'm taking the fuel for my own and with its crew, well… I'm going to use them to barter with your Rebellion, or with the Empire, depending on who'd pay more." The pirate explained, surprisingly serious compared to all the other times they've interacted, like when he was in the Clone Wars.
"Damn you, scum." Errol cursed.
"How could you have captured the crew? Last we checked, you didn't have pirates." Ahsoka pointed out. Hondo chuckled.
"I happened to hire some with a promise to split the pay. They are very helpful." He replied.
"Why would you even wait for us before leaving?" Errol asked, pointing a finger at him.
"I needed the ship to convince my associates to participate in this endeavour. And you should know that I have left you some food and power so that you can wait for your Rebel friends to pick you up and you can inform them of my offer." Hondo explained part of his overall plan, making the family all narrow their eyes.
"Why need us to tell the Rebels instead of doing it yourself?" Alaara asked.
"Well… I want to keep my location a secret and prevent you from rescuing the crew until a deal can be made. I bid you goodbye." He rationalised before he cut the feed.
"That bugger is much smarter than I remembered." Dash noted as he leaned against the wall and slid down onto the floor. Errol watched the freighter and U-Wing fly off, the U-Wing entering the open hangar of the freighter and then Errol realised something and he rushed out of the bridge. The others, confused, followed after him.
"Errol, where are you going?" Ahsoka asked as they ran down the corridors.
"The escape pods! If we can make it onto Hondo's ship before he jumps, we can free the crew, take the U-Wing back, return to the frigate and beat the life out of Hondo!" He explained. That sounded like a solid plan.
They made it where the escape pods were and found that they're still there. Each of them could house two people and so both Ahsoka and Dash entered one and both Errol and Alaara entered another.
They launch out into space and they make their way towards the freighter. The four noticed that Hondo's ship was about to enter Hyperspace and fly faster, maneuvering to the ship's open hangar and practically crash into some crates as the ship entered Hyperspace.
The family then exited the escape pods and saw the U-Wing. Looking around, no one came and checked out the sounds of them crashing.
"Looks like we got onboard without being detected." Dash smirked.
"Alright. We'll have to do this quickly. Let's split up and see if we can find the crew." Errol said.
"Okay, then. Errol, you go with your grandmother. Me and your mom will stick together." Dash said. They all nod and split up.
Both grandson and grandmother make their way through some dimly lit corridors and when they turn a corner, they find themselves facing two pirates that seem to be chilling. They see the two family members and point their blasters at them, however, Errol and Alaara charge at them and incapacitate them easily. Errol then spots a sign giving directions to the cargo bay.
"Let's check that out." He pointed to the sign. Alaar silently agreed and they followed the directions and found the door to the cargo bay open. They take a peek and see the Rebel crew on their knees and cuffed in the middle of the cargo bay, surrounded by some more pirates.
Quietly, the two sneaked up to some crates for cover. Errol looks out and sees that there are seven of these pirates, three of which are moving across the room, away from the pirates and Rebels, out of their sight. Alaar also analysed the area and saw the three walking away.
"Alright. I'll cut those three off. You handle the other four." She instructed, quietly. Errol nodded and she sneaked her way towards the three without being spotted.
Errol looked back at the four pirates and felt he had to take out two of them one at a time first and then handle the other two at the same time.
With this plan, noticing how he's in the shadows, Errol tapped on the metal floor with his glove that had Beskar on it. The sound attracts the attention of the pirate closest to he then walks over towards Errol and once he was in the shadows, Errol grabbed hold of the pirate and knocked him out by striking a nerve point.
Now that he's taken care of the first one, the other pirate that was close to the first one realised he was missing and headed towards Errol, cautious. Once he was close enough, he caught a glimpse of his fellow pirate's unconscious body and before he could inform the other pirates Errol, tightly wrapped his arm around his neck, blacking him out.
Errol then silently charged towards the remaining pirates, Force Pushing one into a pile of crates, hard. He then tackled the other to the ground and with one swift punch, Errol knocked him out. The Rebel crew watched in shocked silence as they've hardly seen Jedi in combat.
He then ran to go check on his grandmother to see how she did and he was surprised to see her standing over the three pirates, all battered up and knocked up. Alaara noticed his expression and smirked.
"I told you I could fight." She pointed out with a smug tone. Errol shook his head with a smirk.
The two walked over to the Rebels and released them from their cuffs. Alaara looked at all of them and saw that Zeena wasn't with them.
"Do any of you know where Zeena is?" She asked them all.
"She's up on the bridge with Hondo." A male Duros informed them as the Rebels grabbed the blasters from the pirates.
"Mom, dad. We found the Rebels. Meet us up at the bridge and we can give Hondo what he deserves." Errol informed his parents through the comlink.
"Got it. Time to kick his ass." Dash replied.
"Come on." Alaara told the Rebel crew and they all made their way through the corridors until they met up with Dash and Ahsoka at the door leading into the bridge.
"You ready?" Dash asked everyone as he had a blaster in his hand. Everyone nodded and then he used the Force to rip their door open and they all barged in to see Hondo, Zeena and some other pirates look towards them and the family and Rebels managed to take down all the pirates with ease and they all aimed their blasters at Hondo, who chuckled nervously and put his hands up.
"You know, I was never going to sell you to the Empire. Couldn't we work something out?" He tried to bluff his way out of this.
The family, of course, didn't fall for it and Errol gestured to his grandmother and she stepped right up to Hondo and threw the first punch on his nose.
The family then all took turns beating up the pirate, Ahsoka especially kicked him right in the nuts as revenge for what he did to her. By the end of the beat up, Hondo laid on the floor, whimpering and covered in bruises, cuts and blood stained his clothes and skin.
After the family felt satisfied with their beating, they turned the ship around back to the medical frigate and as this occured, Alaara reunites with her dear friend.
By the time they made it back to the frigate, the crew got back aboard and their ship got refueled. And with the pirates, they were all tied up and on the floor of their cargo bay.
"What do we do with them?" Ahsoka asked her family. Errol stared at Hondo with an emotionless expression, having already come up with an idea.
"Do to them what they were going to do to us. No fuel and only food and power. They can wait for someone to pick them up." He argued.
"That seems fitting." Dash said as he, his wife and mother in law chuckled. They all then left the pirates and got aboard the U-Wing, flew out of the freighter's hangar and then escorted Zeena's frigate back to Atollon.
Everyone made it back to Chopper Base by dusk on Atollon and when they all landed, Hera greeted the family.
"I see you've been busy." Hera commented, greeting Errol with a kiss.
"To say the least. I'll tell you what happened later." He told her and then they saw a Corvette land and Kanan, Sabine, Ezra, Chopper and a couple of people with TIE Fighter pilot uniforms on.
They, Errol's family, Slick, Zeb and Sato walked up to them.
"Commander Sato, allow me to present Lieutenants Wedge Antilles and… Hobbie, formerly of the Galactic Empire." Sabine introduced the new pilots.
"Commander, we heard you're looking for some good pilots." Wedge spoke.
"Indeed, we are. Welcome to the Rebellion." Sato replied, saluting and then Wedge, Sabine and Hobbie saluted back. After the greeting, Alaara pulled Errol aside and led him to meet her Rodian friend.
"Zeena, this is my grandson, Errol Flynn. Errol, well, this is Zeena." Alaara greeted them both to each other. Zeena and Errol shook hands.
"Hello." Errol said, slightly nervous.
"Hello to you too. I'm delighted to finally meet you. You seem so much like your grandmother." Zeena greeted him, being such a lovely person.
"Well, I guess it runs in the family." Errol commented and that made the Rodian chuckle.
After settling in and properly greeting the new pilots, Errol asked his parents and grandmother to meet with him privately.
"What is it, son?" Dash asked him as they stepped behind some crates piled up.
"Well… I have something to tell you. It's about me and Hera." He told them all.
"Is something wrong?" Alaara asked.
"No! Things are fine between us. It's just… I've started to develop a certain thought, and I feel you should know. I want to propose to Hera." He revealed to them. Initially, all three adults were silent, looking at him blankly until both Ahsoka and Alaara hugged him tightly and Dash patted his son's shoulder.
"My son's growing up." Ahsoka whispered, shedding a tear of happiness, looking at her wedding ring, which had a purple gem on it, representing Dash's lightsaber.
"We'll help in any way we can, sport." Dash promised as he too looked at his wedding finger, which had a green gem, representing Ahsoka's original lightsabers.
"I'll have a granddaughter." Alaara muttered,
Hearing their words made Errol feel better. He had their approval.
