- I don't seen a ton of Brick x Bubbles, thought I'd give it a try!-

(Summary)

Bubbles Anna Smith was a normal high school girl. She had a simple life without much going on, except for the occasional pop quiz and normal high school drama. Until one day her simplicity turned completely upside down after she develops a crush on the most unconventional type of guy at her school who has a knack for saving her from unusual situations. Will he feel the same? Or is she chasing someone who has no idea she's even interested?

(story)

"Crap I'm gonna be late!" A blond teen girl dashed around her house. Her cat decided that he was going to make a huge mess by knocking down the box of cereal on the counter. "I'll deal with you when I get home mister!" She huffed at her orange tabby, as he purred while lounging on the arm chair in the living room. Now she had only 10 minutes to get out the door and get to school before the warning bell rung. Today just wasn't her day. She put on her sweater, it almost dwarfed her slim, short figure.

She grabbed her book bag and her purse, grabbing out her keys from the side pocket of her purse. She dashed out the the door to her car, tossing her stuff into the front seat and getting in the car. She did up her seatbelt and started the car, backing it out and almost speeding to school.

Her car's Bluetooth was ringing and she answered it. Her friend's familiar voice came through. "Bubbles! Where are you?! You're gonna be late!" Bubbles sighed heavily, seeing the building in the distance.

She heard her other friend Buttercup in the background, "She'll be fine!" Buttercup wasn't a worrier.

"Blossom! I'm almost there! I think I'll make it!" Bubbles said and Blossom sighed to calm herself. Bubbles was used to Blossom worrying, she was like a mother hen.

"Oh thank heavens! I'll see you in a few minutes!" Blossom said before hanging up.

She parked in the school parking lot and got out quickly. She had 3 minutes before the warning bell and she quickly grabbed her stuff and dashed inside the large building. What she didn't notice was that her school's bully was going to be targeting her today of all people.

She had barely any time to react before it happened. The bully was a girl, a rich girl named Princess. She had a loud, obnoxious personality and a constant habit of picking on the blond and her friends. Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup hated her. Because Bubbles was so sweet and shy, the auburn haired bully took great delight in messing with her. It happened once a week, and she'd pick random times to do it.

Bubbles spotted Blossom and Buttercup down the main hallway because of her friends hair styles. Blossom was a natural redhead with the longest hair in the school. Buttercup hair was charcoal black, with green streaks. They were standing by all three girls first class. Unfortunately for Bubbles, Princess was in the same hallway.

"Hey Bubbles!" Princess shouts with a smirk. Out of habit, Bubbles looked at her. Princess tripped the poor girl while shouting, "Whoops!" Smirking even more as Bubbles tumbles forward. Bubbles shields her face, expecting to fall on to the linoleum floor.

To her surprise, she fell into something, but it felt like it caught her. She realized that someone broke her fall. The person was very strong and sturdy, barely moving as Bubbles collided into them. She blushed and looked up at who caught her, it was someone she definitely knew. The air left her body, because she'd never really got a chance to look at this person up close before.

She knew his appearance very well, he was the only person she's ever seen with those almost intoxicating red eyes. Brick Mursten, he was the quiet and antisocial type. He wasn't known for his personality, but he was known for his unique eyes and his unique talent for street art found around the city. Brick only spoke to 2 people in the school regularly, only speaking to others if he had to. Bubbles has never interacted with him. To her surprise he actually spoke to her.

"Are you okay?" Brick asked, Bubbles blushed even more. Brick's voice was a smooth baritone, he wasn't loud, but his voice was clear and calm.

"Ye-yes I am... Th-thank you..." Bubbles, now up close, realized he was actually really attractive... How did she not notice that before ? Brick helps her stand up properly and sends a monotonous look towards Princess.

"Why the fuck did you trip her idiot?" Brick asked his voice even more monotone than him, he raised a brow, crossing his arms.

"I didn't trip her... Get your facts straight dumbass..." Princess cackles and then jumps when a loud slam sounds from the locker beside her head. Brick's hand was the cause of the sound, he loudly slammed his palm into the locker.

"Are you calling me a liar sweetheart?..." Brick's tone was still monotone, but his stance was a telltale sign that he wasn't amused. Brick was very tall, towering above Princess. He was hunched over in a intimidating way, he made everyone around go silent as they witnessed this. Princess's eyes widened and words were unable to leave her mouth.

"What's the matter? Got nothing to say now?... Did I scare you?..." Brick lets a tiny smirk show. Everyone else was shocked, nobody has ever done that to Princess before. Everyone just usually let her parade around like she owns the place. Brick looked like he wasn't one of those people.

"I'm not an idiot... I know who you think you are... Next time watch who it is you're messing with... Because next time I won't be aiming for the locker..." Brick gets in her face, his red eyes piercing through her.

"Leave her alone..." That was his last warning as he then turned to Bubbles, his eyes were now gentle and kinda playful.

"Let me walk you to class so hopefully you won't tumble into anyone else..." Brick says to her, almost like he was teasing her, and Bubbles blushed, but nods.

She locked eyes with her friends, Blossom's almost pink eyes widened with shock while Buttercup's lime green eyes twinkled with amusement. Bubbles looked at Brick again as he walked beside her. "Thanks..." Bubbles said with a still blush on her face.

"Don't mention it..." Brick shrugs, he was quiet again.

"I've never seen someone stand up to Princess before..." Bubbles smiles at him.

"People should start..." Brick says in that same monotone voice from before.

"You really didn't need to walk with me..." Bubbles looked at him again shyly.

"But whoever said that I couldn't?" Brick asked, teasing again.

"I guess you're right..." Bubbles blushed even more. He was very different from everyone else. She fully analyzed his appearance. A leather jacket, faded blue jeans and short and messy copper red hair to go with his eyes.

He had this "I don't give a shit appearance". Bubbles was different. Bubbles had on a large fluffy baby blue sweater and a flowing black skirt that ended at her knees. Bubbles looked more innocent and shy.

When Bubbles stopped at her class and let him know that this was it, he didn't talk. Brick just stares into her eyes, she felt her heart hammering in her chest, he simply pokes her nose before walking off in a different direction. The warning bell snapped the entire hallway out of their trance and everyone heads to class. Bubbles walked up to her friends, still watching him leave.

"That guy is really fuckin weird..." Buttercup said as the three all now watch him walk away.

"I kinda like him..." Bubbles says, her baby blue eyes couldn't leave him until he disappeared.

"He's strange yes, but he stood up for Bubbles... So he's alright in my book! Now come on guys!" Blossom nods before dragging both girls into their classroom.
