Chapter 62 is here guys and I hope everyone is ready for the new chapter. I also hope you are all ready for what will happen with the aftermath of the Citadel arc. Yeah, Anakin is alive. I bet everyone saw that coming though.

Also, I brought in a new Power Ranger or rather one you all remembered. Zane being revealed as the Gold Zeo Ranger. Honestly, I was going with that idea anyways, especially how awesome the Gold Zeo Ranger is. And that theme song…it gets me hyped up each time I hear it.

But, now with Zane helping the Rangers what will happen next? Will Zane be ready to help the Rangers again should Damien strike again? Will Damien join in the fighting next time he appears? Or does he have something else up his sleeve?

The Cerberus Knight Part IX

Coruscant

A week has passed since the Jedi rescued the Younglings from the Citadel. A week since they last saw the Cerberus Ranger who disappeared. A week since the Citadel was destroyed. And a week since the Jedi found Anakin Skywalker alive.

This shocked the Jedi who couldn't believe he was alive. They all thought he had died two weeks ago. They searched the wreckage of the ship he was on, but found no remains. They assumed the worse and declared him dead.

They ran several tests to be sure it is him and all the tests confirmed it is Anakin. Once they got the result the Council began trying to figure out how Anakin was still alive. They interrogated Slick and found out that he was aware of a Jedi that was locked up in the facility two weeks ago. However, he claimed he didn't know it was Skywalker.

All he knows is Vampira brought the Jedi to the prison and was told not to say a word or to go near the prisoner. That the prisoner would be interrogated by Damien for information. That was all he knew though. The Jedi believed him since he made it clear once he got paid his money he wouldn't ask any questions.

The Jedi decided to have some more tests be performed on Anakin to find out his condition. To find out what happened to him and how long it will take for him to recover.

Master Yoda, Kenobi, Windu, Shaak Ti, Plo Koon, and Luminara are seen in the medical room where they are observing the medical droids place Anakin in a bacta tank. To Obi Wan his former apprentice looks different. He could see some visible scars, bruises, and cuts all over his body. It also appears his hair has grown while having grown some facial hair and his robotic right arm is missing.

The Jedi see medical droids going to the room they are in to give the Jedi the results. "We have found Master Skywalker has suffered multiple bruises, burn marks, a few broken bones, and fresh cuts."

"How long do you think he's been tortured?" Master Luminara asked.

"Hard to tell, but some of these injuries appear recent with some still healing," the medical droid replied as it goes over more of their results. "Fortunately these aren't life-threatening injuries."

"So, physically he will be all right. What about mentally?" Master Windu asked knowing that is where they are concerned about.

"I do not know," the medical droid replied as he shows a hologram of their test scan they performed on Anakin's brain. "We've been unable to find anything wrong with his brain. It was strange since if he was tortured for so long we would find something to indicate any sort of stress or exhaustion. But it appears his brain appears okay."

"That is strange," said Master Plo who is surprised to hear about this. "We know if someone is tortured, including with drugs it takes a great toll on the mind. On the outside we can see what he went through, but on the inside…until he awakens we have to assume they did something to him."

Master Shaak Ti nods in agreement. "If this is true then we should have some of the Temple Guards keep an eye on him. To make sure nothing happens."

Obi Wan wanted to disagree with his fellow Council members, but he couldn't help but agree with them. He knew Anakin was a strong, but he isn't sure what torture would do to someone who has a troubled past.

"I assume we'll continue keeping this from the Republic?" Obi Wan asked.

He recalls a week ago when the Jedi found out Anakin was alive that they would keep it a secret. Reason why they did this is because they wanted to find out what happened to Anakin before they inform the rest of the Republic what happened. They also made sure Rex and Cody would not say anything about what happened either. Including Ahsoka and the Younglings.

"Hmm for now. Wait we must until Skywalker awakens," said Master Yoda as the Jedi all nod in agreement before they begin to leave. "Master Kenobi, a word with you I wish to have," said the elder Jedi.

"Of course," said Obi Wan as he waits for the rest of the Jedi to leave before he speaks with Master Yoda. "I assume this has something to do with Ahsoka?"

Master Yoda nods in response. "Attempt to see Skywalker she has. Spoke we did on wanting to see him. Concerned she is for him."

"I am concerned about him too," said Obi Wan who understands Ahsoka's persistence. "I also know she wants to find out what happened to him like the rest of us. However, she knows she can't tell anyone about this…except for the other Power Rangers of course."

Master Yoda knew Ahsoka would tell the Rangers. He didn't mind though since he knew they can all keep this secret.

"Understand I do as well. However, important this is for us to keep this secret," said Master Yoda. "Concerned I am on what Damien did to young Skywalker. Need time we do in order for the truth to come out."

Obi Wan understood and nods in response. "Very well. I will make sure she doesn't say anything to anyone else. However…" he then turns to Anakin in the Bacta tank. "If he doesn't wake up soon then what do we do?"

Master Yoda turns to where Anakin is at and sighed. "Unsure I am. Wait is all we can do for now."

Obi Wan normally was the patient type, but with everything that has happened. "Do you think we should speak to Zane to see if he has anything that can help us with Anakin?"

Master Yoda turns to Obi Wan and nods in response. "Has something Zane does. Will sent for someone to bring it to us he will."

Obi Wan is glad to hear that. "I'll go wait at the entrance then for whoever he sends," as Obi Wan was about to leave he stops by the door and turns to the elder Jedi. "Master Yoda, I know you have history with Zane and I also know there were past Rangers before the others took the power. I was wondering…did you ask anyone from the Jedi join Zane?"

Master Yoda closed his eyes for a moment before he begins smiling as he turns to Obi Wan. "Ask them I did and two of them joined Zane they did. One of them was Master Tahl."

Obi Wan remembers Master Tahl and how close she was to his master, Qui-Gon Jinn. He spoke highly of her and it seemed the two were close. However, she was killed 20 years ago and he could tell it left a mark in his former master. Looking back at it he understands why his master felt that way because…he loved her.

Obi Wan was about to ask who the other Jedi was that was chosen, but he knew right away who it was. "And the other was Master Qui-Gon, wasn't it?"

Master Yoda nods in response. "This was before his apprentice you became. Skilled he was as a Power Ranger. Used what he learned to help his friends and protect the innocent he did. Reckless he could be though during missions. But never forgot the responsibility he had with the power he possessed."

Obi Wan was glad to hear that. He knew his master always hid some secrets from his past from him. But he didn't think one of them was being a former Power Ranger. He supposed though it made sense he would be one of them, especially with how he was probably one of the few that would be okay with breaking the rules.

"Wait. Seventh you said?" Obi Wan begins recalling the powers the Rangers right now possessed and seems confused. "Was he the White Ranger then?"

Master Yoda shook his head in response. "The power he possessed was another. One Zane has yet given to another."

"Why is that?" Obi Wan asked.

"Hmm choose the Power Coin must," Master Yoda replied. "Choose someone worthy, honourably, and good it will. Perhaps one day it will choose again. For now, all we can do is wait. Wait to see who will take the power and take the place of Master Qui-Gon."

Obi Wan looks down and begins wondering something. Something that he remembers seeing when he helped the Green Ranger during the fight on Almora. He remembers Ahsoka telling him the same thing happened to her when she helped the Green Ranger against Vampira. Soon after she became the White Ranger.

He wonders if that means what he thinks it does before turning to Master Yoda. "Thank you for telling me all of this. I'll go wait at the temple entrance for whoever Zane sends."

As Obi Wan leaves Master Yoda begins closing his eyes. He could tell what Obi Wan is thinking. He didn't need to say anything to know this. He can only hope if things turn out the same way it did years ago for Qui-Gon then maybe…just maybe he can do it.

"Perhaps he is the one to take on the power, Qui-Gon. Only time will tell," said Master Yoda knowing there is not much he can do about this right now. He turns his attention to Skwalker and sighed. "Hope we also can to find out what Damien did to you, young Skywalker. And find out what his plans are soon."

Meanwhile

Ahsoka is in her room with Barriss pacing back and forth. All while Barriss is meditating on the floor. Earlier Barriss arrived to try getting Ahsoka to relax. Ever since they found out Anakin is alive she hasn't been able to calm down.

She's been trying to speak with the Council about Anakin for days with little success. They told her they need time to find out what happened to him. How he is alive and what Damien might have done to him. Until then she wasn't allowed to see him or tell anyone about Anakin being alive.

Hence the reason why she wasn't allowed to go on any missions for a while. The Younglings were also told to keep quiet about this. Since they wanted to figure out what is happening before they let the Senate know. Something Ahsoka wasn't happy with since she wasn't allowed to tell Padme either.

"Ahsoka, you need to relax," said Barriss as she tries again for the tenth time to get her friend to stop pacing around. "Letting yourself get stressed like this isn't going to help. You need to calm down and relax."

"Kind of hard to do that when we just found out Anakin is alive. This whole time and we didn't even know," Ahsoka replied clearly unable to relax right now. "I don't like that they are keeping me from seeing him and that they won't let me tell anyone about this. Hell, I can't even talk to Padme about this. I can't tell her that her husband is alive, that the father of her child is alive, and that she isn't alone anymore. I…I…" she sits down on her bed and sighed. "There is just so many questions going through my head that I can't think straight."

Barriss opened her eyes and turns to her friend knowing why she feels this way. She knows Ahsoka has every reason to be upset about this. She wants to see her former master. Someone she sees as her friend.

She grieved for his death. She thought it was her fault for what happened. Now that he is alive she can't even see him. She can understand the frustration, but she knows there is a reason for this.

"We both know the Council doesn't want anyone to find out yet is because we don't know what he went through," said Barriss as she looks away and looks down at the floor. "We don't know what his mind is at when he wakes up and if Damien did something to make him dangerous. While I agree Padme should know about this, I think it is best we wait until he wakes up. To see if it safe for her to see him."

Ahsoka sighed knowing a part of her feels her friend is right. The other part believed when Anakin wakes up he'll be the same Anakin she always knew. However, it's foolish for her to believe that. She knew better than to believe whatever he would be the same.

Not if Damien tortured him. If he did then there is no telling what state his mind will be in. He could be traumatized and needs time to heal. Or he could turned like he did on Mortis.

All she can do is wait. Wait until the Council finishes their investigation and hope the conclusion won't be as bad as they think it will be.

"I know. I just wish…I just wish I could see him," Ahsoka lets out a small sigh. "I still remember how we found him. I barely recognized him. I just wish I knew what they did to him. And why they had him?

Barriss turns to her friend once more and placed her hand on her shoulder. "I don't know. All we can do is wait and see how things will go…would you like to see Jake and the others?"

Ever since they came back Ahsoka hasn't seen the others. She had too much on her mind and wanted to be here till Anakin wakes up. A part of her does want to go to see if that will help clear her thoughts. However, the other part of her felt she should wait.

"Maybe later," she replied to her friend. "I think I'll go see Master Kenobi and see if he can tell me if any changes have been made."

Barriss sighed figuring she would say no, but she wanted to try at least. "All right. I'll be back then. Just promise me you won't do anything crazy. Like sneak in where Anakin is kept to see him."

"Barriss, come on. Like I would do that," Ahsoka lied knowing that was something she was planning to do…until Master Kenobi warned her not to ty it because of the level of security they have around Anakin. "I'll be fine. Just…just tell the others I'm okay and I'll see them when Anakin wakes up?"

Barriss nods in response. "I will."

Endor

Jake is seen with Rick, Rachel, and Lux as they are watching through the Viewing Globe. Their Zords have been fixed and are now roaming around. Getting on their feet to get ready for any upcoming fights they might encounter. The Rangers are just glad their Zords are all right and are recovering well.

Of course the focus of the Rangers have been more on what happened a week ago. Well, two things really. One is Zane revealing to be able to morph like the other Rangers. Becoming the Gold Zeo Ranger and help them defeat the Cerberus Ranger.

Zane explained that long ago before he met Damien and before his father's death he went to a planet to explore. On this planet he discovered a powerful Zeo crystal, which he wanted to use to make his own morpher. Well, it worked and he was able to become the Gold Zeo Ranger. Until, he discovered he was unable to control its power.

The power from the Zeo crystal he extracted from was too much for his body to handle. So, he reduced its power in half in order to control it better. He gave the power to his friend Trey, lord of Triforia. Trey needed to use the power to help his people, which Zane allowed, but on the condition he doesn't reveal where he got the power from.

Once Trey returned he gave Zane his power back, which he used during the final battle against Dark Spectre. After his father's sacrifice Zane began training to control his power. Slowly using more of it until his body could handle the full power. Something Zane needed to do during his fight against Damien.

"I just wish I could have been there to see him use that power in action. I bet it was awesome," said Rick as he is seen leaning against the control panel.

Jake nods in response as he is seen sitting down on a chair. "Oh it was and it was awesome to see his Zord too. Pyramidis, man it took down all three of Damien's monsters with one attack."

"That does sound pretty cool," said Lux who is seen giving Rachel some tea. "It's a shame Zane won't be able to use his powers again for a few days."

"Yeah, it sucks. I really wanted to see him with the Gold Zeo suit on," said Rachel as she recalls what Zane told them after the Rangers found out about his power.

He explained that he didn't use the Gold Zeo power before is because he hadn't used it since his fight with Damien thousands of years ago. Due to this his body was once more unable to handle the full-power of the Gold Zeo power. So, once the Cerberus Ranger appeared he began to use its powers again and slowly get used to it.

However, he exerted a lot of power during his fight against the Cerberus Ranger and the Harpies. So, he'll need time to rest up. However, he should be able to use its full-power should Damien show up. That's if they can figure out what he is planning.

"We'll see it soon I'm sure. Right now we should be focus on what Damien is up to and if it involves Anakin," said Jake as he turns to the others. "We know Anakin was alive after we assumed he was dead. We don't know what Damien did to him or got out of him. But whatever it is it can't be good. We need to find out what it is before it's too late."

"Well, we can throw out any personal secrets as part of Damien's objective," said Rick as he goes into detective mode as he got up from his seat and begins pacing around the room. "I aalso don't think he's interested in learning about the Jedi way. Unless maybe he wants to learn about the military force of the Republic and the strength of the Jedi before unleashes his army. An army large enough to take over Coruscant."

"You mean, an invasion?" Lux asked figuring that's where Rick is going with this. "Makes sense. Without the Republic the war ends and if he kills off Dooku he can take control of the Separatist."

"For him to do that he'll need to learn about the defense of the Republic," said Rachel as she thinks of other things Damien might want from Anakin. "If he can find a way to sabotage the military forces then it won't take long for him to take over."

"Exactly," Rick points to Rachel before he continues. "Anakin has many secrets deep in his mind and I bet he wants to see how to incapacitate a Jedi, especially one as strong as Anakin. I bet he'll want to try finding a way to do that when he goes after the temple. Maybe even blow the whole place up until there is nothing left!"

Jake walks over and placed his hand on his friend's shoulder. "Oooooor, he might try attacking the temple himself while his army attacks the rest of the city and the Clone army. I don't think blowing up the temple is his goal."

"He's right," said Zane as he walks into the room using his cane as a supporter. "Zane is a monster, but a monster with standards. He wouldn't destroy the Jedi temple. Not unless he wants to preserve the secrets and culture it has inside."

"Seriously? The guy destroys homes of innocent people and doesn't care who he harms. Yet he cares about the artwork, statues, and libraries? You're joking?" Rachel asked.

Zane sat down on a nearby chair and chuckles softly. "Oh I wish. When we were growing up on Eltar he always enjoyed reading books, leaning about past events, and even wanting to go exploring to uncover ancient artefacts," it almost made him smile thinking back of all the times they almost got killed to get some trinkets that he was after. "So, as far as attacking the temple it does sound something he would do, but destroying the temple isn't his true goal."

"Then what is?" Jake asked wondering what Damien could do.

Zane looks through the Viewing Globe as it shows the city of Coruscant as he thinks of what Damien could be planning. "How about leaving an entire government and its allies in ruins? To the point there will be chaos, fighting, and fear?"

The Rangers look at each other looking concerned. Damien's attacks on Coruscant and other worlds has spread across the galaxy. This caused fear to spread across the galaxy and caused tension in the Senate. If Damien launched a large invasion and leaves the Republic weakened then it won't take long for other worlds to join the Separatist out of fear.

"What do we do then?" Rachel asked wondering if there is anything they can do to stop this.

Zane nods in response as he smiles at his Rangers. "We give them hope. If Damien does attack Coruscant we will help protect the people, we will fight for them, and we will stop Damien. That's what we can do. It may not seem like much, but it is the best we can do."

The Rangers all look at each other and all nod in response before turning to Zane. "Then that's what we'll do," said Jake as he speaks up for the others.

"Good," Zane goes over to Jake and pulls out a device. "Here. I want you to give this to Barriss. I want her to have the Council scan Skywalker with this. I want to be sure Damien didn't leave anything in him we should worry about."

Jake understood and puts the device away. "I'll go right now. Anyone want to come with me?"

Rachel shook her head in response. "Mom needs me to go over a speech with her. Lux is tagging along too mostly to give a second opinion."

Lux shrugs his shoulders. "Honestly I'm not needed at all. All her speeches are good. I just enjoy hearing them."

"I'll go," Rick volunteered. "I want to check up on Barriss and see if she's doing good."

Jake nods in response. "All right. Let's get going then and check on the others."

Rhen Var

Damien is seen walking back and forth in front of his throne while he listens to what Palpatine or rather right now Darth Sidious is telling him. Word travelled fast about the sudden emergence of an eight Power Ranger. The Gold Zeo Ranger that not only defeated the Cerberus Ranger, but also helped destroy the Citadel prison. Something that didn't go over well with Sidious.

Things were just going well for them. Spreading more fear across the galaxy, the Cerberus Ranger causing people to lose hope in the Power Rangers, and Damien having his forces lose to Sidious in order to make him more popular with the people. To look up to him and give up on the Power Rangers. Just like he did with the Jedi.

However, with the arrival of the Gold Zeo Ranger the people have begun to believe in the Power Rangers again. Believing now that the Cerberus Ranger isn't as invincible as they thought he was. If he can bleed then he can be killed. That's what Sidious believes and now so do the people.

"How many Rangers does Zane have in his possession?" Darth Sidious asked as he spoke to Damien in hologram form.

"Hmm hard to tell. It all depends on who wishes to join him," Damien replied as he took a bite of an apple he got from one of his robots. "In total there were 21 groups of Power Rangers that existed back where I came from. Each of them raging from one through six or even one through five members. However, I doubt he would recruit just any ordinary person to become a Power Ranger. No, believe he only has eight right now, including himself."

"Why did you not tell me this before?!" Darth Sidious asked angrily. "Why didn't you also tell me Zane could use one of these powers? What else are you hiding from me?!"

Damien took a bite of his fruit before turning to the old man. "Relax. I didn't tell you about Zane because I figured we would eventually meet for the end game. Him showing up was a little unexpected. However, I assure you I have no more secrets hidden from you. We are partners after all."

Darth Sidious calms himself down as he found what Damien is doing to be suspicious. "Is that so? So, tell me this. Why didn't you kill Zane when you had the chance? I was told you were there and instead of fighting him you ran away."

Damien stops himself from taking a bite of his fruit and sighed. "Zane and I have some unfinished business. I want to fight him when he's at 100%. Not after a fight and not while my knight was injured. I will fight him when the time comes. Until then, he got a pass from me."

"Hmm in other words you ran away and allowed him to live," said Darth Sidious who was not pleased by this answer. "I am not pleased with this at all, Damien. Because of your failure at the Citadel the Power Rangers have given the galaxy hope again. Something I am trying to extinguish before I set my plan into motion. I suggest you eliminate the Power Rangers and Zane soon…"

Damien grips his apple tightly before turning to Sidious clearly looking pissed. "Or else what?" he interrupted the Sith Lord. "You forget who you are speaking to, old man. I am not any of your servants or the Jedi. I am the last person you want to make an enemy out of. So, I suggest you adjust your tone when you speak to me or else you will deal with me."

Darth Sidious though kept his cool much better than Damien and began to smile. "You are in no position to threaten me, Damien. Remember, I know exactly where you are and I can inform the Power Rangers of your location. I can even send Republic forces or even Separatist forces to help in the fight. So, I suggest you watch your tone when you speak to me."

Damien crushes his apple into pieces before his eyes begin glowing red. Damien will not allow someone like Sidious to speak to him like this. He should just destroy him now and be done with it. However, there was something about what he said that caught his attention. Something that made him wonder what the old man is up to.

"Be careful old man. I would hate for the Jedi and the Power Rangers to find out your secret. Maybe even let it slip about…Order 66?" Damien replied as he approached the hologram and stands in front of the Sith Lord. "Now then, if you don't mind I have work to do. I'll take care of the Power Rangers as promised. Provided you keep your end of the deal as well. Otherwise this partnership will end…very badly."

Damien turns off his transmission and lets out a small sigh as he begins cleaning up his hand. "It seems this partnership is nearing its end," Damien looks over to see Mother Talzin entering the room. "We both know it won't be long before he betrays you. I suggest taking him out now before it is too late."

Damien though walks over to the balcony thinking back what just happened. "Hmm no," he replied. "Killing him would be too easy. I prefer finding other ways to make those who will try to betray me suffer. However, I may need to accelerate my plans. So I can figure out what he is up to."

"What do you mean?" Mother Talzin asked curious on why Damien is hesitating to go after Sidious.

"When I first met the old man I could sense fear flowing through him. He could sense how powerful I am and he knew he couldn't defeat me," said Damien recalling his first meeting with Palpatine. "Yet now he seems more…confident. He knows how powerful I am and he spoke to me feeling he could defeat me. If he is up to something then perhaps now is the time to find out what it is. Mother Talzin, how are my generals?"

"Recovering," Mother Talzin replied. "I'm afraid I drained much of their power freeing your queen from her prison."

"Hmm it doesn't matter they would have done it anyways," said Damien knowing his servants would do anything for their master and their mistress. "That reminds me. How is my queen?"

"She is still recovering. It seems when we found her she was in a weakened state," Mother Talzin explained recalling how they found the queen.

She was found sealed inside a cryotube where she appeared to have suffered some injuries. Damien figured it must have been during the final battle against Zane. He knew his queen fought alongside with him against the Power Rangers. If she is injured then it must have been during the fighting.

"How long will it take for her to recover?" Damien asked wanting his queen by his side when he goes through with his plan.

"A few weeks. I am using my magic to help her recover, but it will take time," Mother Talzin replied. "However, I can try giving her some of my magic to see if that will help one of your generals if you need them for what you have planned?"

Damien knew he will need one of his generals for the next phase of his plan. He couldn't risk Vampira though since Sidious knows her weakness. So, why not send Torus instead? Hmm maybe, but he knows he'll need another to help Torus and to test out his invention.

"Yes. Do it and while we're at it begin preparations for my knight to awaken," said Damien as he goes to awaken his last monster. "That reminds me."

Damien moves his hand out and a portal opens releasing the Warrior from it. The Warrior falls to the ground with much of his body burned and smoke rising from his body. The Warrior struggled to get up as he sees Damien approaching him. Damien kneels down and grabs the head of his monster.

"I know you tried to betray me, Warrior. It's a shame the Hunter isn't here so I can punish him too," said Damien recalling what his Cerberus Knight told him his two monsters did.

"T-then w-why keep me a-alive? Why n-not kill me a-and get it o-over with?" said the Warrior as he felt pain surging through his body from where he was kept.

Damien begins laughing as he grabs his Warrior by the neck and begins lifting him. "Because forcing you to do my bidding and go against your code of honour is better than killing you. Now, you will follow my orders and if you disobey well…you know where you will go."

Damien drops the Warrior on the ground as he took the monster statue in his hand. The Warrior slowly got up as Mother Talzin begins using her magic to heal the Warrior.

The Warrior looks over and sees what his master has in his hand. "You are letting her out? I thought you planned never to use her again after what she did?"

"True, but I made sure to have Vampira punish her in case she ever tries betraying me again," said Damien as he looks at his monster statue to show it appears to be some sort of robot with spider limbs. "Besides, I'm going to need my old general again to lead my army to test their skills. Think of this as the preview to the main event. Now, Mother Talzin go wake my knight and remember to give him his orders. The show is about to begin."

Uh oh it looks like there is trouble in paradise between the bad guys huh? Not good for anyone if they end up fighting and bring the whole galaxy down with them. Still, it seems Damien has a plan to figure out what Sidious is up to. What could the old man be planning?
