Here we go with chapter eight (chapter 85) of season two. I want to thank everyone for the support and reviews. I am enjoying reading the reviews you all have given and glad I didn't get a lot of heat for the origin story. I don't know why, I just felt like I was going to get someone mad at me for what I wrote.
There are a lot of crazies out there. Anyways, again thank you everyone for the support. Also, a big thank you to my friend who remains anonymous. Thank you, my friend, for the full support you have given me, for the ideas, and I have enjoyed working them in as much as I can into the story. I love the Cerberus Ranger you came up with and I'm looking forward to bringing it back for the future.
Not going to say when since I'm not going to spoil it for you all. Anyways, last time we saw the Rangers meet Zane's sister and learned the origin of the Power Rangers. They now have a chance to gain this new power, but will they succeed? And will they get the new power in time?
Tune in today to find out. Also, hope everyone is staying safe wherever you are at. Be careful everyone and please follow the guidelines wherever you are at. Now, time for the disclaimer.
I don't own anything from Star Wars or the Power Rangers. I just own my OCs, while Tiberous was made by my friend. Enjoy the chapter everyone and hope you like this.
Knights Quest: Part Four
Almora
King Ronin is seen in his war room going over all the plans for the city and planetary defenses. After what happened on Christophsis, the king didn't want to take any chance that General Arachnia won't send her monster after his people. He had assembled his generals and advisors to go over their plan. He also had Alexis in the room through hologram since he wanted her to know what is going on.
So far, his generals have advised the king how they have better their defenses around the cities, towns, and small villages around the planet. They also have set up defenses for their colonies off-world. The only problem is they need more soldiers. They lost troops during their fight against Damien's forces, not to mention they have their troops in combat against the Separatist.
So, they decided to bring in the new recruits and prepare them. Not for going to the fighting against the Separatist, but to protect their home in case of a fight. This seem to sit well for some of the generals, but Alexis wasn't a fan of the new recruits being used like this. She even suggested they begin initiating the new sentinel program to start using cybernetic machines to better protect the city.
The king agreed, but first wanted to see them used for law enforcement before they use them for anything else. "All right, if nothing else then that will be it for now," said the king as he has his generals and advisors leave the room before he turns to Alexis. "How are the kids holding up?"
Alexis sighed as she crossed her arms. "From what Nathan told me, they could be worse. They really felt like they let the galaxy down. I know the feeling."
"We all feel that way sometimes whenever something happens, and we feel like we failed everyone down. Take it from someone who failed to keep his son and people safe," said Ronin knowing he failed to keep his people safe and his son from dying.
"It wasn't your fault, dad. You did the best you could, and everyone knows it," said Alexis who wanted to cheer her father up. "I just wish your retirement came under better times."
"I kind of figured something would come around to ruin it," said Ronin who didn't seem too disappointed. "I just hope we can solve all of this before things get worse. I want to make sure when I retire it happens when things have calmed down so you won't worry too much about everything."
Alexis is hoping for the same thing, especially how it will make things less difficult for Rachel too when she takes over. "So, when this is all over, what do you plan to do after you retire?"
The king sighed softly and closed his eyes while imagining what he is going to do. "Finally finish writing that book I have been working on. A complete history of our family. From the first ruler of our people to now. And maybe even finally go fishing."
Alexis rolled her eyes knowing her father has been working on his book since before they were born. Even after birth he hasn't even come close to finishing it. He spent more time taking them out fishing than actually writing his book. Although she did enjoy fishing, especially with the kids.
"Maybe one day when this is all over, we can all go out fishing again," said Alexis who didn't mind the idea of the whole family going out. "Maybe, you can even teach Numa the secret of how to catch a big fish."
Ronin begins chuckling softly. "That does sound like a good idea. Hopefully she won't freak out when she gets the fish in her hand like Rachel did."
Alexis began laughing with her father recalling how Rachel caught her own fish when her grandfather. However, when she touched the fish she freaked out and it slipped out of her hand. But then again, she was 8 years old when it happened. So, she didn't expect the fish to be alive and feel weird.
"Let's hope so," Alexis then sees one of the guards enter the room and approach the king with a message. "What is it?"
"I don't know," said King Ronin as he took the message and begins reading it, causing his eyes to narrow. "It seems one of our informers has reported the next attack by General Arachnia and her monster. I better inform the Republic about this. I'll also need to contact the generals and…" the king then stopped and turned to his daughter. "On second thought. How about you go inform them?"
"M-me?" Alexis asked surprised her father is tasking her with this.
King Ronin nods in response as he hands the message to his daughter. "I believe this is a good chance to see how you do with a crisis like this. The attack is going to be on a small colony planet. We have some forces there, but its up to you to decide what we will do."
Alexis looks at the information, while a little nervous her father is already putting her to the test. But she knew she had to do her part and help keep the peace until the others are ready.
Alexis examines the message and begins forming out a plan of what they need to do.
"I think the first thing we need to do is coordinate with the Republic forces. We'll send a fleet to help them out with the evacuations and set up some protection in the city where the colony is at."
The king smiles and nods agreeing with his daughter's plan. "Then let the generals know the plan and do what you must. I'll go inform the Republic and see if they have any ships nearby to assist us."
Alexis nods in agreement. "Right. Let's do this then and get the people to safety."
Gaia
The sun is beginning to set as the people are beginning to get the ritual ready before the Power Rangers take off for their trial. The Rangers are taken to a private room where they are given their uniform to wear for the trial. They are told the trial will be incredibly dangerous and they will need to wear special uniforms that the past Rangers all wore. It turns out the Zeo Crystals didn't give them the suits that the Power Rangers use now until much later on.
That took some time, but until that happened the Rangers all wore these metal armor. Gabriella explained that long ago on the planet Earth, there was a time period where they had their own knights. They wore metal armor, helmets, and used old weapons to fight. It seems that the original Power Rangers used these very same armor and weapons before their Power Suits were created.
The Rangers weren't too thrilled about wearing these uniforms, but Gabriella explained not to let the armor fool them. The armor may appear to slow their mobility, but it will feel light to them. It protects their body from lethal attacks, allows them to move fast, and when merged with their Power Coins it can give them their super strength. However, they won't be able to transform.
So, they will need the uniform in order to complete the trial. As for weapons, Gabriella will be providing their weapons for them once they are ready.
Kimberly walks over to Gabriella with a large case and had it set down in front the other. "Are you sure about this? Maybe you should send me to go back to their world and help them defeat Arachnia's monster."
Gabriella sighed softly and shook her head. "I know your worried about them. I'm worried about them too, but we both know this is their choice. They made up their mind before they even came here about going through with this. They know the risk."
"And what if they fail? What if they fail like what happened to those who took the trial?" Kimberly asked.
Gabriella understands Kimberly's concern and doesn't want anything to happen to them. "This time it's different. It's different because…because Zane believes in them. Just like he believed in you. As did Aurora."
Kimberly looks away and didn't say anything. Gabriella knows that Kimberly hasn't told the Power Rangers the truth about her past. She understands why though. She knows she's too ashamed to tell them the truth.
"You know even if they find out they won't think less of you. No one here on Gaia does," said Gabriella as she tries to help her feel better.
"You should," said Kimberly as she looks out into the distance. "You know what he made me do. How many people I hurt and how I was powerless to stop it."
"And yet you redeemed yourself when you helped the others. When you fought alongside with us, when you saved Serenity, and you saved my life," said Gabriella as she placed her hand on her friend's shoulder. "You earned that second chance, you earned the trust of the people, and now I am asking you to trust me."
Kimberly turns to the other and smiles a little. "I still think I should go with them. They have no idea what is out there."
"Neither do you," said Gabriella as she sighed softly. "But we just have to trust that Zane made the right decision, and I believe he has. If the Rangers can do this then they will gain a power like no past Ranger has ever had. Their power will even surpass Zane's if they can control it."
"I hope so. If what your mother saw is true…" Kimberly is cut off with Gabriella moving her hand up.
"I know…I know," said Gabriella as she moves had hand down before seeing the Rangers coming out. "Here they come."
The Power Rangers all appeared from their rooms and walk over to the two women. All while the guards stood in attention and crossed their arms over their chest. The Rangers each wore the metal armor, which despite how heavy it looks was actually light. The Rangers didn't even feel a thing.
"I trust the uniforms fit well?" Gabriella asked.
Rachel clears her throat and adjusts around his neck. "It actually fits pretty well. A little too well. Were the original Rangers the same size as us?"
"Yeah, I find this very surprising," said Rick as she turns the others. "And can I say, Barriss? That uniform fits you well."
Barriss blushed a little from the compliment. "You really think so? I'm not sure wearing a suit of armor like this is my style."
"Don't be modest, Barriss. I believe it suits you well, especially since you are a Jedi Knight," said Gabriella as she turns to Rachel. "To answer your earlier question, the uniforms adjust to any size and age. Although, the people of Gaia age slowly so the Rangers who wore the uniform were over 120 years old, which technically was around the same age as many of you."
"That makes sense," said Lux as he took notice of how the uniform could stretch when he tried his on. "I am surprised the metal armor doesn't weigh a lot and yet it feels tough."
Jakes nods in agreement as he taps on the metal. "It reminds me of the uniform the royal guards use on Almora."
"I don't know much about the material your people use, but the armor was made with the combination of the Zeo Crystal energy and the rare metal here on Gaia," Gabriella lifts up the material used to make the armor. "The name for this material was lost during the fighting, but I did give it a new name. Aianhāto."
The Rangers smiled and all liked the name. Kimberly likes it as well and knew this armor will give the Rangers protection. But the armor can only protect them as much as it can. Any exposed area that the armor can't protect will leave them vulnerable. A good example, their faces.
"Now then, it is time we begin," Gabriella as she explains the trial of the Rangers. "You must walk through the Shi no janguru or as it is known as the jungle of death. If you follow the light from your Power Coins you should be able to reach the temple before sunrise. But be on your guard. The jungle has turned any surviving creatures in it into feral monsters that will try to kill you."
"Doesn't seem any different than what we've gotten through before," said Lux who didn't think this will be any different.
"And the good thing we'll be together," said Rachel knowing as long as they stick together, they should be okay.
"I hope your teamwork is strong, because the darkness will put it to the test," Gabriella moves on to the next part of the trial. "According to my mother, whoever makes it to the mountain will face off against the darkness itself. It will try to corrupt you and turn you to the dark side. If it is successful it will escape from its seal, then destroy all of life."
The five Rangers all stood silently knowing that this is now completely different from what they have gone through before.
"So, if we fail, we don't get a second chance and we end up turning evil or we die," said Rick as he took a deep breath and sighed. "Cool."
Barriss knew they can't allow that to happen. "If that happens then we must do all we can to keep the darkness from escaping."
"Then let's complete the trial and make sure that doesn't happen," said Jake knowing this is their only chance, so they have to make it count.
Gabriella nods in agreement before she reveals the final part of the trial. "Should you succeed in defeating the darkness, five small podiums will appear. You will place your Power Coins in them and if it all works well…then the Power Rangers will be freed, and the power will be pass on to you."
"So, basically, we go in, stop the darkness, free the Rangers, and gain the power. Sounds easy enough," said Rachel knowing full well nothing they do is easy.
"I guess since we can't morph, we can't use our weapons. I assume you have some we can borrow?" Jake asked.
"I do. But first, please, take a knee and we shall present you your weapons," said Gabriella as she turns to Kimberly who nods as she begins opening the box behind them. "Before I present your weapons, I used my magic to see what you Rangers have gone through. Both the good and the bad, so I can get an idea of who you all are. So, I know why you were chosen and why my brother has so much trust in you."
The Rangers begin to get on one-knee and look to see the weapons presented to them. Gabriella goes to Lux first and presents him with an axe. It appeared like a normal ax with the handle made of wood. With the blade on one side, while on the other side it looks like a hammer.
"Lux Bonteri, you are the best of both your mother and father. Despite the sides they chose in the war, they still had a sense of honor. They wanted to help protect their people and bring peace. They did not waiver and did not give in to the temptation of evil…" Gabriella hands Lux the weapon. "And neither have you. You have kept your honor and I trust you will not let it waiver."
Lux happily took the weapon and gives a small bow to Gabriella.
Kimberly took out what appears to be a long wooden bow and a pouch that has the arrows. She then stood in front of Rachel as she looked a little nervous, which made the former Pink Ranger smiled.
"Rachel Nite, you remind me much of myself when I was young. I was someone who used to believe anything is possible, even in the most difficult of times. I can tell you are the same. You are someone who has faith, even in the most difficult of times and you find a way to overcome it, but not alone," Kimberly then presents the weapons to Rachel. "Please never lose faith in yourself or in others too. Trust in yourself and always believe any challenge can be overcome. As long as you never give up."
Rachel happily took the weapons and gives a small bow to Kimberly, while smiling happily.
Gabriella turns to Rick as she took out a small staff. Rick didn't seem to think much of it, until it extended revealing two sharp blades at both sides.
"Richard Stockwell, you are like your father. A man who believe in doing what is right and fair. He believed everyone deserves a second chance. And that any criminal regardless of what others believe deserves their chance to defend themselves in front of their peers," Gabriella then presented the weapon to Rick before she continued. "You too believe in this same sense of justice. I hope you continue doing what you feel is right and never forget who you are…or lose your sense of humor. Even in the darkest times."
Rick felt happy that Gabriella compared him to his father. He felt a sense of pride for it and happily took the weapon.
Kimberly soon goes to Barriss and presents her with two short swords. Half the size of a regular sword, with a handle that will allow the user a proper grip of their weapon. Kimberly then took notice of Barriss' expression looking conflicted. She recognized this look and remembers what Gabriella told her earlier about Barriss.
"Barriss Offee, Jedi Knight, for a long time you always believed that the Jedi believed in their code and their belief. But over time, you began to lose faith in them. You have lost those you cared about and you are worried of the path you were heading. I know this feeling all too well," said Kimberly as she helps lift Barriss' chin and smiles at her. "But then you met your friends here and you began to trust in them. They in turn gave you their trust and you earned it. Don't ever forget you are not alone in this fight, Barriss. Trust and believe in yourself, no matter what."
Barriss felt her confidence blooming again after what Kimberly told her. After hearing all the good things about her friends, she was worried with what Gabriella saw in her. How she almost gave up on the Jedi and what they believed in. How she felt herself slipping into the darkness…until her friends came to her.
She happily took the weapons and gives a small bow to Kimberly. "T-thank you," she whispered softly towards the older former Ranger.
Gabriella turns finally to Jake and before she presents the weapon begins describing Jake. "Jacob Nite, you remind me so much of the original Red Ranger. He was a kind man who risked his life to save the people and his friends. Even when one of them turned evil, he still risked everything to bring him back. He was a great leader that inspired others and would charge into battle with so much courage."
Jake hears Gabriella describe the original Red Ranger and began feeling like he could never measure to someone as great as Jason.
Gabriella placed her left hand on his left shoulder and smiles. "And I'm proud to see the same traits he has with you. You are a kind, trusting, brave, and you are willing to risk your life to protect everyone. You've even shown kindness to your enemies, who in turn did the same for you."
Jake looks up at Gabriella when she mentioned his own traits and how they are a lot like Jason's. She even brought up his kindness to his enemies, like the Warrior. A man who was cursed to work for Damien and fought Jake to be freed from serving the monster. Jake gave him his freedom and gave him his honor back.
"There may be times when you doubt yourself as a leader, but I know you will help keep your team together and help them whenever they need it…" she then presents Jake with a sword. "And they will in turn help you whenever you need it."
The blade being 28 inches long, the hilt in a cross shape, and symbols on the sword begin to glow. In fact, the other weapons the Rangers also had symbols and they begin to glow as well. In the form of their colored suits. Jake is soon given the sword and held it in his hands.
Gabriella as she taps her staff on the ground as the balcony ledge begins to crumble away revealing a long staircase that leads down below to the jungle. A path was soon made that leads towards the jungle of death. With torches to light their way. "Remember to always look out for one another, trust each other, and never give up hope."
The Rangers all stood up and put their weapons away. Lux puts his axe in a holster wrapped around his back. Rachel puts on her pouch behind her back with her arrows inside and carries her bow in her hand. Rick puts away his staff retracting it, so it was small enough to place in his holster on his belt.
Barriss puts her blades away in their sheath, which are attached to her belt. She still has her lightsaber but decided for this trial she won't use it. Jake puts his sword away in his sheath and soon all five Rangers put on their helmets. The magic of the uniform soon activates as it begins drawing power from the Power Coins.
"Good luck to you Rangers and may the power protect you all…always," said Gabriella as she along with Kimberly, the guards, and the people all give the Rangers a small bow.
The Rangers return the bow with their own and nod. "Thank you all for everything and we promise we will complete the trial. And then save our universe," said Jake as the Rangers soon begin making their way down head towards the jungle.
The Rangers don't know exactly what they will expect when they arrive, but they know they will go through it together. So, they can free the original Power Rangers, but also save their home from Arachnia.
Dathomir
Out in the Outer Rim in the Dathomir system, there exists the planet of Dathomir. It is a remote neutral planet in the Quelli sector and home. It is home of the Nightsisters and the Nightbrothers, which are Dathomirian Zabrak. They live in a village far on the other side of the planet.
The planet itself is overrun with vegetation, forest, and swamplands. The planet is also home to Rancor. Obi-Wan warned Ahsoka that the Dark Side of the Force has a strong presence on the planet. So, she is to be careful and watch out for anything that might come their way.
Six Republic ships emerged from hyperspace and begin heading towards the planet. They soon begin heading to the surface of the planet before 30 gunships begin flying out of the fleet. They head towards the home of the Nightsisters. They soon spot the temple and begin flying down to the ground.
The Clone soldiers all emerged from the ship and begin getting into position. They brought two AT-TE Walkers and a few AT-RT drivers. Ahsoka and Obi-Wan soon emerged as they begin following their men. They made sure their Clones stay together and don't spread out.
As they walked through the forest, they begin to find remnants of a battle that took place here. They found what appears to be Separatist Battle Droids and vehicles, scattered around the ground. Along with the dead bodies of the Nightsisters. The Clones checked the bodies and found they have been dead for some time.
They also checked the droids to find them all deactivated and abandoned. Obi-Wan ordered Cody and the others to take as much of the droids with them to see if they can get any data from them. The rest made their way towards the temple, where the Jedi both ordered their men to stop when they sensed something. Something dark and sinister.
"Rex, stay out here and keep an eye on things. We're going in alone," said Ahsoka who didn't want to risk the other men getting attacked.
"You sure, general?" Captain Rex asked.
Ahsoka nods in response. "Just stay on your guard and remember what we told you."
Obi-Wan and Ahsoka soon head inside the temple, while Captain Rex orders his squad to stay close. All while Commander Cody does the same thing.
"You really think they'll find something?" Commander Cody asked.
"Probably not," said Captain Rex as he looks down at the dead bodies. "From the looks of things. I doubt anything else is living here. I also doubt these Nightbrothers will know anything either, especially from what the report tells us."
Commander Cody nods in agreement. "Still, you would think if they got word of what happened here, they'd come try to take over the temple. Probably something worth in there for them to steal."
"Maybe," said Captain Rex as he looks up thinking he saw something, but figured it was nothing. "Or maybe they know something we don't."
Meanwhile, inside the temple, Ahsoka and Obi-Wan looked around to find the place abandoned. There doesn't appear to be anyone around. Not for a long time. Obi-Wan remembered the details of this place when he was here last time but knew a temple this big there must be more rooms around.
"Can you feel it, master?" Ahsoka asked as she felt a cold chill running up her spine.
"I do…the Dark Side of the Force is strong here," said Obi-Wan who isn't surprised that even with the death of the Nightsisters this place is still strong with the Dark Side. "We'll need to be careful not to fall under its influence."
Ahsoka nods in agreement. "Do you think we should…you know?"
Obi-Wan nods in response. "Only if we have to."
"Don't bother," the two Jedi turn around to see Nathan walking towards them in his Green Ranger form. "I came here half an hour before you guys did. I found nothing."
"You went in without backup? Seriously?" Ahsoka asked a little upset that Nathan who always tells them to not do anything reckless would do it himself.
"I got bored when I got here and I could have sworn I saw something inside," Nathan explained why he went inside. "But after half an hour of looking, I found nothing."
Obi-Wan sighed softly before he walks towards a nearby table which he recognized. "Did you search every bit of this place? Even in here?"
Nathan nods as he follows Obi-Wan. "It was one of the first places I went to when I noticed the crystal ball at the table. I figured it might be like the Viewing Globe back with Zane."
Ahsoka follows them and sees the crystal ball they are referring to. She walks over to it and examines it without touching it. "I don't know if taking it with us will do us any good. Since I have a feeling it can only be used by the same magic as Mother Talzin."
Obi-Wan nods in agreement knowing from what he saw Mother Talzin do when she used it with her magic. "I suggest we don't bring anything we find in here back with us. We still don't know anything about the magic of the Nightsisters. We also don't know if any are still alive and are just in hiding."
Nathan sighed in annoyance. "Great, so the witch and Astronema are probably not even here. Where do we look for them then?"
Suddenly a figure appeared leaping up from nearby and pulls a knife close to Nathan's neck. "Do not move, if you value the life of your friend."
Ahsoka and Obi-Wan see the figure before they both crossed their arms. "Young lady, I think you made a big mistake on who you chose as a hostage," said Obi-Wan.
"A pretty big mistake," said Nathan as he quickly grabs the arm of the girl and throws her over on the table.
Ahsoka and Obi-Wan quickly activate their lightsabers then move them close to the girl's neck. Three more appeared, but Nathan took out his Dragon Dagger and got ready to fight them. Obi-Wan though didn't want to turn this into a fight since they still need some information. He motions for Nathan and Ahsoka to stop as he deactivates his weapon.
"We mean you no harm. You just startled us," said Obi-Wan as he tries to defuse the situation down. "We were also surprise to see there are some Nightsisters still alive."
The girl has a scarf covering her mouth and a hood covering her head. But her brown eyes can be seen staring at Kenobi and his friends.
"You claim you didn't come here to harm us and yet you brought an army with you," said the Nightsister girl with a stern tone. "Just like your friend with the four arms and the same weapons as yours, Jedi. You came here to finish us off. To kill me and my sisters."
"You mean, General Grievous?" Ahsoka deactivates her weapons now to show they aren't the enemy. "He isn't a Jedi. He works for a Sith Lord named Count Dooku. We only came here because we're looking for someone."
"Mother Talzin," the Nightsister girl moves back and kept her guard up. "I know you came looking for her. You want to kill her just like you want to kill us. Jedi, Sith, there is no difference. You are all the same."
Nathan puts away his weapon and turns to the Nightsister girl. "Not me. I am no Jedi or a Sith."
The Nightsister girl turns to Nathan and recognize him. "No, you are not. You are one of the Power Rangers. My people met your kind long ago. I thought it was all just a story."
"I assure you it isn't," said Nathan as he walks over and stood halfway from the girl, while putting his weapon on the table to show he isn't here to harm here. "I know you believe we came here to fight you, but I promise you we are not. We are only here seeking Mother Talzin and a woman he is with, Astronema."
The Nightsister girl looks over at her sisters who look ready to attack, but motions for them to stop. She didn't know if this was a trick, but she didn't want to risk more of her sisters being killed.
Nathan took notice of the sisters preparing to attack, but then saw the other stopping them. It looks like they can still negotiate, which is what he wants.
"Mother Talzin used to work for someone named, Damien. Astronema was his wife and she was with Mother Talzin before Damien was killed. We were hoping that Mother Talzin will be able to help us find the one who killed him. So, we can stop her," Nathan explained while not letting her know that Damien and his allies were their enemies.
The Nightsister girl moves off the table when she finished hearing what the other told her and wasn't sure if his reason for being here is the truth or a lie.
"It doesn't matter why you came. Mother Talzin isn't here," the Nightsister girl replied. "We haven't seen her since our home was attacked. We would hear her voice echo in the darkness here and there from time to time. But she never appeared before us. If what you say is true, then I don't understand why she wouldn't show herself before us, her children."
Obi-Wan could tell this girl spoke the truth. True, the Nightsisters were good at deceiving, but he could still sense if they were being untruthful about something.
"Perhaps she has kept herself hidden in case Count Dooku comes back here to try finding her and all of you," said Ahsoka figuring that must be the reason why Mother Talzin hasn't shown herself. "Did anyone else come here before us?"
The Nightsister girl nods in response as she reveals a small broken probe droid. "Five of these things came here three months ago. They were looking for something…or someone. They found nothing and all left. All except this one when it got damaged and was left behind."
Obi-Wan walks over to the droid and recognized it. "This looks like one of the droids that Arachnia used to broadcast the fight to the galaxy. It looks like she was looking for Mother Talzin and Astronema."
"But if she couldn't find them then they really must not be here," said Ahsoka realizing they have wasted their time.
Nathan was disappointed they couldn't find the two witches, but at least no one has to die. He turns to the Nightsister girl and gives a small bow. "Thank you for your time. We'll be leaving now."
Ahsoka and Obi-Wan agreed as they begin leaving. This left the Nightsister girl confused as she walks around the table to see the strangers leaving.
"Y-you are not going to attack us?" the Nightsister girl asked as she sounds confused.
Obi-Wan turns to the girl and replied to her question. "Why would we do that? You haven't done anything wrong and you made it clear that Mother Talzin isn't here. So, we have no reason to stay here and keep searching if even Arachnia couldn't find them. Unless of course you know any other place where they could be hiding?"
The Nightsister girl shook her head in response knowing Mother Talzin kept many secrets from them, which is why since she disappeared, they have been discovering many of these secrets on their own.
"Then we're on our way. Thank you for your hospitality," said Nathan as he follows the Jedi out of the temple.
"So, what now?" Ahsoka whispered to Master Kenobi. "Should we ask Anakin again?"
Obi-Wan shook his head in response. "I doubt Anakin would know any more than the girl did. Besides, I suspected Mother Talzin wouldn't be here."
"You did? Then why come here then at all?" Ahsoka asked confused on why they should have anyways.
"Just to be sure," said Nathan figuring that's what Obi-Wan was going to say.
Obi-Wan nods in response before he begins receiving word from Cody about a transmission they are getting from an anonymous tip. They have been informed where Arachnia is going to attack next.
"Let's get back to the ship," said Obi-Wan as they took off to find out where Arachnia is going to make her move.
Once they left the temple, the Nigthsister girls looked on surprised that they weren't attacked like they thought they were. But they were relieved that none of their own will die. As they head back deep into their fortress, a green mist appeared and begins going towards the crystal ball. Soon a pale hand appeared and grabs the ball before it disappeared into the shadows.
Gaia
The Power Rangers make their way down the steps and followed the path that Gabriella made for them to follow. This made it easy for them to get to their destination instead of having to cut through the jungle. Disturbing the wildlife in the process. However, as they got closer to the darker part of the jungle, they couldn't help but notice fewer animal noises in the air.
"I remember mom telling us as a kid that animals can sense evil in the air. Must be because of how close we are getting to the jungle of death," said Rachel as she inspects her bow.
"If that's true then we'll need to be on our guard," said Lux as he turns to the torches. "I wonder if it would be okay for us to bring some of these torches along."
"Probably not since we really don't need them since our coins will light our way," said Rick as he examined his weapon. "Also, hard to believe these weapons are like the ones we use when we morph."
"I don't think it's that weird at all," said Jake as he pulls his sword up from its sheath to examine it. "It makes sense that the weapons we used is exactly like the ones the Rangers used. It's the armor that I wasn't expecting."
"The armor is different, but I actually don't mind it. From what Gabriella told us about the knights of Earth, I think it makes sense why the armor the old Rangers used look like this," said Barriss who has to admit the armor was a good look for them. "It made the Rangers appear as knights for their world."
"Ranger Knights…oooooh I like that," said Rick who begins talking with a different voice. "Evil beware, the Ranger Knights are here to save the day!"
"How about Star Knights?" Lux suggested as the others looked at him confused. "I mean, it would make sense. We're knights traveling through the stars saving the day."
Before the others can say anything, they feel a cold gust of wind blowing past them. It caused the torches to go out as the Rangers see they have arrived. Before them stood the jungle of death. Large rotten trees with dead leaves on the ground, a heavy mist blinding their way, and complete silence. They could feel the darkness covering this land and knew this is not a safe place to be.
Rick steps forward when he noticed something on the ground before them. He carefully took out his staff and begins moving the leaves to reveal a skeleton on the ground. The Rangers back away and noticed more skeletons buried under the dead leaves. The Ranges all look at each other knowing how serious things just got.
"So…Star Knights…we still doing this?" Rick asked.
Jake took a deep breath remembering what they were told. Once they cross the path and accept the trial there will be no going back. Jake took his sword out and begins stepping forward into the jungle of death. He looks around and sees everything looks cleared.
It isn't long before Rachel steps forward and joins her brother into the jungle. Lux was next, followed by Barriss, and finally Rick soon entered. Once they step into the jungle, they see the thick mist soon covering their way back the way they came. Rick uses his staff to try poking through the mist and feels what appears to be a barrier blocking their exit.
Jake knows they are now trapped here and there is only one way out. "Okay guys. Remember, let's stick together, watch each other's back, and keep moving forward."
The others nod in agreement and see their weapons beginning to glow. They see the ground in front of them forming a long white path that appears to lead them to the mountain. This is good since this means they'll be able to find their way to the mountain through this fog. The Rangers stay close and begin walking along the path hoping to find their destination.
Jake knew once they made it into the forest they might run into some trouble. So, he left it up to Rick to figure out how they are going to do this. Rick suggested Barriss and Jake take the lead. Rachel stays in the middle of the group, while Lux and Rick cover their rear.
Barriss agreed with this plan, while using the Force to try sensing for any danger. Unfortunately, danger appeared to be everywhere. She can sense the darkness all around them, so she couldn't get a good lock of what might attack them. Jake though kept her calm and focused on just keeping an eye out while they followed the path.
"Keep an eye out and if anything moves then speak up," Jake whispered to the others. "Don't want any surprises."
"In this place? That's very likely," Lux whispered as he kept his axe in hand.
As they walked, Rachel sees something running back. She motions for the others to stop as they got in defensive position. Jake and Barriss drew their swords, while Rick and Lux drew their weapon close. With Rachel taking out an arrow and looking around for what she saw.
"What did you see?" Barriss whispered towards Rachel.
"Something dark, big, and fast," Rachel whispered back as she looks around and sees the figure running by again. "Did you see that?" she asked her brother and Barriss.
Both nod in response until they saw something else running by in the corner of their eye. Soon, Rick and Lux notice this as well, but they see more than one figure running by.
"It's a pack," Rick whispered. "It's like the wolves back home. They surround their prey and begin moving around looking for an opening. Most likely seven….no ten of them."
"I can't hear them moving around. How?" Barriss asked knowing with so many dead leaves around they should be able to hear some movement.
Jake knew Barriss is right, but they could still use this to their advantage. "Barriss, get ready to use the Force. Pick up the leaves everywhere and we'll see where they are moving."
Barriss understood the plan and begins using the Force to lift the leaves off the ground. Slowly as she begins making the leaves surrounding them being lifted up until they are in the air.
"Rachel, prepare to fire when you see them make their move," Jake whispered.
Rachel sees what her brother is doing and nods as she aims her bow. All while whispering a prayer to help her be accurate and not miss. The Rangers all kept their guard up waiting for whatever is surrounding them to make their move. It soon got quiet as the Rangers slowed their breathing.
Suddenly something moved within the leaves nearby and Rachel fired her arrow hitting the creature as it falls to the ground. Soon another charged at them, but Rachel fired her arrow hitting it as well. Two more soon came at them as they charged at Rachel. But Rick and Lux got in the way as they used their weapons to stab at the creatures.
Two more came from behind Rachel and attacked. But Jake and Barriss used their swords to kill the creatures. One got through them and tackles Rachel to the ground. It tries to bite her, but she plunges her arrow to the side of its head killing it.
The last three soon charged at Rachel, but Barriss uses the Force to send them flying towards the trees. The creatures whimpered, but soon begin roaring as they begin merging together. They soon grew to form a large wolf-like monster with glowing green eyes. It snarled at the Rangers and charges at them.
Rachel took out her arrow and fires it, but it kept on charging at them. Jake tackles his sister out of the way of the charging wolf creature and saves her. The wolf creature charges at them again, but Lux and Barriss take their weapons then slashed at the legs of the wolf creature. This caused it to jump into the air as Rick slides in and thrusts his spear into the heart of the creature.
The Rangers all regrouped and see the wolf creature is dead. It soon begins to dissolve into the ground along with the other dead wolves. Once they were gone, Rick grabs his weapon and Rachel grabs the arrows she used to reuse them. The Rangers look around and sighed in relief.
"So, that was fun," said Rick as he tries to cut the tension. "This must have been the one of creatures that Gabriella mentioned to look out for."
"These creatures must have been possessed by the darkness here since it covered this land," said Barriss as she placed her hand on the ground. "They were in so much pain."
Rachel kneels down next to her friend and placed her arm around her shoulder. "At least they are in peace now."
Barriss nods in agreement knowing now they are free. She just hopes they can do the same for the rest of the creatures of this land.
"I suggest we keep moving," said Lux knowing they can't stay for long. "We can't stay here all night fighting these creatures."
Jake knew Lux is right. "Then let's get going and hope we won't run into any more trouble until we get to the mountain."
The Rangers all soon begin taking off with their Power Coins leading them towards the mountain. All while wondering if this is one of the many dangers in the jungle then what kind of danger will they encounter when they reach the mountain?
Unknown Location
Dr. Vindi is seen working around the clock to help his creature recover from the attack at the hands of the Power Rangers. He had hope to wait for three days to help it recover, but thanks to the complaints from Arachnia and Darth Sidious, he is forced to push the recover to two days. This means he'll need to cut some corners to make sure it is ready for combat.
Dr. Vindi didn't like this, but he knew he had little choice. However, he did begin making sure his monster will prevent the Power Rangers from forming this Ultrazord. If his creation can do this then the Power Rangers will be destroyed. Once they are out of the way then he will succeed.
He looks over to see his monster recovering more and more. To the point he knows it won't be long before it is ready.
"Dr. Vindi," the doctor looks up to see Arachnia entering the room from the ceiling. "Is he almost ready? You know the old man will want Abomination ready to attack."
"Patience!" Dr. Vindi replied as he continued working on his creation. "My Abomination is nearly healed up. Once it finishes healing, I will begin conducting some tests before I send it out to fight."
"No," Arachnia replied as she steps forward. "I will not give the Power Rangers anymore time to get healed up. I don't want to risk Zane finding a way to give them more power. So, once it is ready then we will send it to destroy a civilization. This will lure the Power Rangers out, especially when we have the galaxy watch."
"And if they find a way to wound my creation?" Dr. Vindi asked a little upset with Arachnia.
"Then have it destroy them until it draws its last breath," said Arachnia as she turns away from the doctor. "Remember, it was created to destroy the Power Rangers. Whether it lives or dies is irrelevant to me. Just as long as it does its job. Understand?"
Dr. Vindi indeed understood and didn't like that his creation will most likely be sacrificed to achieve the goal of Arachnia. However, she has a point. If the Power Rangers do find a way to wound it then they have to make sure they will not survive. So, despite how much he hates this, he knows what must be done.
"Very well. I shall have it ready by tomorrow," said Dr. Vindi knowing he will need to accelerate its healing process. "Is there a specific planet in mind?"
Arachnia nods in response. "I thought about destroying the city of Theeds of Naboo, but I decided the old man would most likely be against that. So, send it to Kiros."
That's the end of the chapter and it looks like our knights are on their way to get the power they need. Good thing they have some new weapons…old weapons to help them on their journey. Think it will be enough? It also looks like there are some Nightsisters still alive.
I wonder if anyone can figure out who one of them is. I'll give you a hint…she showed up in a Star Wars game. That's all I can give. Still, it looks like Mother Talzin still exists around there.
Not good though on where Palpatine wants his monster to show up. Think the Rangers will make it in time? Will they succeed in saving the people? Or will they be too late?
Tune in next time to find out and thanks for the support guys and I appreciate the reviews. Please be patient for the next chapter and if you all liked this then please leave some reviews. Just no flame reviews please. Take care everyone, be safe, and see you all next time.
