Touka

Since leaving the office and settling in their rooms...

They have a lot to think about.

For Gokudera, he was a Neophyte Mafioso and known Freelancer as a Saboteur known as Smoking Bomb. He was called by Reborn to Namimori, but when he got there, he learned that she died as soon as his plane landed in Japan. She was killed. That must be one hell of an assassin to get past Reborn, world's greatest hitman. That was why, it's a shock, but he dare NOT voice that out. He values his life, thanks.

He got her profile that she was no-good and useless, but he didn't know she was a bully victim and as a result; only finding that out TODAY, afraid of people. Reborn left THAT out. Bully victims tended to be meek, jumpy and afraid of people. He must have come onto her too strong and let his guard down. Besides, it seems Touka is better off in this world.

The Mafia don't take well to women better than them. Its a sexist world. Mafia Women are expected to be talented at espionage by using their bodies. That, or if daughters of high-ranking men, basically sold in the form of marriage arrangents for their father or organization's benefit. His older half-sister was an exception as she was living poison herself, who'd want to marry her? Thus got higher up that mafia women her age and older did. And Touka's to be a Mafia Donna with a personality like that? CEDEF Advisor sure is cruel but she may be a future puppet which was worse with him being Decimo in the shadows, while she was front face. Sooo yes, dying and reincarnating no doubt put a spanner in the works. He'll have to ask her tomorrow on stuff he didn't know about.

There's something they were tight-lipped about, about her death. He was just er, promptly fired from his new job. Well what can he do? Then a week after he arrived while pondering what to do, he got isekai'd here with the others at night, vanishing at the exact same time.

Now he must build a new future for himself here.

What can he do?

If she managed to build a life for herself here, so can he...right?

She also managed to recover from her days as a bully victim if she was no longer afraid of people. But as Yamamoto lampshaded it, she ignored him because he was a classmate. One of her enemies in her mind. Can't blame her for thinking that way...

She was shot in the head and reincarnated here after hearing a voice...huh?

He'll have to ask Rimuru in class tomorrow.

Hibari was looking out his bedroom window.

He was doing a before and after in his head.

The girl he rescues to the current her of today.

He has to admit, she was cute before even if he sees her dirty with torn clothes and injuries from bullying, but here, she was a beauty and a lot more confident, and a lot happier in seeing him. She still regards him highly as her savior.

Hmmm. Since she's a carnivore now, she can repay him with her skills. By showing her fangs of course! It seems this world did her better.

And she serves a Slime who was an adult reincarnate thus she respects him. That naming system...that means that small carnivore is more powerful than anyone in this town? Interesting! However, as much as he wants to fight Rimuru, he has to get through his subordinates first who are extremely loyal to him. Heck, Touka is loyal to the man, being the first to do the right thing for her AND her therapist with support from the other monsters.

They will have to let him challenge small carnivore.

Ryohei was in...extreme denial as he turned on his bed a lot, clearly disturbed.

What Yamamoto told him was anti-thesis to what he knows of his sister.

It can't be real.

It...can't be.

But...its there.

And it happened. Sawada would surely know. This was extremely hard for him to accept and swallow.

But he has to do the manly thing tomorrow after class.

At her house by the farms...

Touka was in deep thought with a blank look in her eyes.

It was good to see Hibari, but Yamamoto? Not so much.

They all ended up here as Heroes to boot but not THAT kind of Hero. While any monster can become a Demon Lord if they worked hard enough, humans have it harder to reach Sainthood, its the World choosing who should be a Hero. No presumptuous human kingdom can to balance things out. Thus so-called Heroes these days, are those who proclaim themselves a Hero, or be recognized by the masses as a Hero. To have that kinda fame, you gotta be more than an A-Rank Adventurer with wholesome reputation.

The humans made the word Hero a Farce, when according to Rimuru's Great Sage Skill, a Hero is a human blessed by a Greater Light Spirit, obtaining the Hero's Egg from them. If they hatch it, they evolve and gain the power of Heroes...the counterpart to Demon Lords.

There's no way those guys are Heroes. Falmuth is grasping at straws!

However, her Hyper Intuition is nagging at her.

Hibari-senpai, Yamamoto, and those kids she saw...they are connected to her through Fate and to her flames. The mere idea shudders her now that she knows the full nature of her flames she was really glad she tossed out Sky Attraction and Charisma now. Had she kept those with her, the idea made her shiver.

She has no need for subordinates. She is content where she is now.

Besides, if she wanted friends, she'd rather make the effort, not er, through one-way subtle manipulation.

At Earth?

Chaos ensued!

If Ryohei disappeared in front of his family, Yamamoto disappeared in front of his dad AND their customers when he was helping out, freaking out a lot of people with CCTV Footage to boot, Yamamoto-papa went hysterical. Good thing there's CCTV in his shop, or police would never believe them. Police are scratching their heads, especially as not long after, the town got wind about the Sasagawas and their son.

Nobody has any idea Hibari vanished, but his family servants DID report he hasn't come home in days...Fon had come to check on his grand-nephew and tried finding him, trying to deny Aria's words of what happened to him. He was in sheer denial until he was forced to swallow it.

Nobody knows Gokudera disappeared ala Isekai. For Freeters like him, it's go big or go die. Agents risk lives for the job so its perfectly normal if he vanishes at one point.

While she does have a roof over her head, food and education, Nagi's parents prefer career and their social repute than a daughter they can't connect with thus hardly cares if she never came home. Was it a wonder Nagi herself is fine with going to whoever gave a damn?

Mukuro disappeared in front of his two subordinates, Ken and Chikusa to their horror in Italy, that they really have to lay low and survive until he comes back.
(He never did and without him, they can't do their revenge or its instant Vindice for them as its him who makes escapes possible)

Time in both worlds passed differently.

If in Earth they were gone for a week...they were in the other world way longer than that.

Next morning...

Touka dressed up and fed magicules to the grain farms, before having breakfast at the school cafeteria...ending up joined by Rimuru and the others.

'Rimuru-sama ohayo.' Touka greeted. 'So its their first day in your class?'

'Aa.' Rimuru grinned. 'They'll have breakfast here from now on as well at 7 am so waking early is a must for them now. Lunch will be here too so dinner will be at the hotel. I know the curriculum you taught your kids, so we'll be OK. As for P.E Activity, the last subject in the day to work up an appetite...I'm tossing the boys to Benimaru, Souei and Hakurou to refine their combat skills and polish their Skills to combine in tandem with their fighting ability, while its your job to train Nagi and Lambo. They need beginner levels first while the boys at least, had a clue.'

'Hai.'

'First off, we need a little blessing from you since I also have office work we can't bother with homework and recitations like in a normal school.' Rimuru told her. 'Use your Assimilation and Harmony Skill so they'll learn quicker and never forget what I teach them after breakfast.'

'Assimilation? Harmony?' Lambo piped up. 'Whassat?'

'They are subskills of my Unique Skill: Flames of the Sky.' Touka smiled kindly at Lambo as behind them, Mukuro's eyes widened, familiar with the terminology. 'With my flames' traits, I can do three things...Petrification, Assimilation and Harmony. The latter two having many applications I use in my teaching so my students learn and graduate faster. I'm the only teacher in this town for Civilian School and I can only teach forty children at a time, and there's a loooong waiting list!' she sighed. 'This was the compromise we all have to come up with. And don't get me started on the adults! I'm just glad the Kijin knows how to read and write so our military forces learn from them...they need help in Math, though.'

Sawada Touka, is Mafia, Mukuro thought as he quickly pieced things out about her, so yes, he has a lot to ask the girl after classes.

xxx

Classes came and went, that by the end of the day, P.E Classes...

'Welcome to our Track and Field.' Touka used a clone to greet Nagi and Lambo in their track. 'We will strengthen your bodies first as you can't begin to learn fighting skills if you don't even have stamina and body training. Starting with Stamina.'

'Does this mean...we'll spend quite some time running, Touka-san?' Nagi asked Touka who nodded. 'I think we did enough running in the forest though.'

'That was out of adrenaline for survival's sake against monsters that you guys have high stress levels with no rest nor proper diet.' Touka sweatdropped. 'That's not exactly formal training. For one month, you two will run laps on this field as fast as you can. This will build up leg muscles and your lungpower, while encouraging good bloodflow. Combine this with a healthy diet, this is the first step in body building. So, get running you two! Next month, we will do other workout! You're still safe from Magicule Poisoning for two more years so we have plenty of time! Your duty for now is eat well and body-build so you can endure combat training without easily breaking a bone!'

'To that end, not only is the Assimilation and Harmony Skill good for lesson memorization, it also absorbs all nutrients in anything you eat down to the last scrap, and harmony ensures the vitamins and minerals goes to where it should in your body and begin building and healing. So you'll grow a healthy body.'

In the mornings, they have warm wholegrain porridge with honey and herbal tea for a drink. For lunch, they have Tamagoyaki and Chicken dishes, liver included as well as legume soups. Dinner would probably be...vegetables and fruits?

However, there's a catch with their grain food.

Because Touka part-times as farmer to make the grains grow in a month to feed everyone in time as opposed to a grain's normal growth time of ten months, the grains as a result, contain small amounts of magicules that when eaten, strengthens and energizes the eater, totally redefining Go Foods learned in Grade School. It helps that the honey is nutritious thanks to the Army Bee Queen! Raw honey is better!

And so...

By the end of that 1 and half hour 'class'...they have the privilege of bathing in lukewarm water before dinner.

And dinner is vegetables with fruits for dessert.

'Touka, can I talk to you after dinner?' Mukuro approached Touka who blinked owlishly.

'Eh? Sure...'

'Oh yeah, me too!' Gokudera piped up, making the two kids blink.

'Me three!' Ryohei ran towards them. 'I must extremely apologize for my sister Kyoko! I heard from Yamamoto!' Ryohei bowed a 90 degree bow. He was sincere from what Touka detected, but this only made her sigh.

'Why must you apologize when you didn't do me wrong?' she chided. 'Do not apologize for others. Only apologize for yourself if you did wrong.'

'B-but still, Kyoko's my sister and as her older brother...'

'No buts.' Touka said firmly, patting his shoulder. 'You did not do wrong. This is not Japan Ryohei-san. Your mistakes are your own hence and you have yet to make any. You should not take on anyone's mistakes and apologize on their behalf. How would they learn otherwise?'

'Even so...Kyoko will never get to say sorry or make up for it, given the situation.' Ryohei explained pleadingly. He strongly implies their situation. 'At least please let me do this. I thought I knew my sister. Please allow me to take responsibility for her inaction!'

'Sawada...me too.' Yamamoto approached her, having the courage to go near her because of Ryohei's opening. He told her what he told his fellows yesterday.

This clearly rattled and shook the succubus.

Nobody ever apologized to her.

So if not being isekai'd, Yamamoto would most likely stay quiet forever. Ryohei at least, if he found out, he'd do what he did now but had they remained home, he'd no doubt drag Kyoko, by force if he had to. The others waited with bated breath, taking the look of Touka's eyes as a warning sign. They waited for her reaction...because she was quite conflicted.

'At least you owned up to it. You indeed had a half-selfish reason.' said Touka. 'I cannot blame you for preparing for the future in advance, but that still didn't excuse you from doing the right thing. You could have saved me from abuse in other ways without having to get hurt but you didn't do that.' Yamamoto deflated where he stood, sad she didn't accept his apology even if she accepted his reason. Indeed there were other ways he can go around while at the same time, avoiding being a bully target.

'Ryohei, again, only apologize if you yourself did others wrong or made a mistake. So I do not accept you apologizing for your sister, even if she can never apologize to me. I accepted that long ago and I know what kind of people our class is. So I never bothered to expect anything from our class. I just consoled myself that fate will come charging eventually. I convinced myself of that while burying myself in anime and manga long before my death.'

'Sawada...' Ryohei deflated. She would never forgive his sister. And she clearly implied Kyoko will never own up to it unless made to, further shaking him and got disappointed in his sister. For all she preaches to him, she cannot practice herself in the classroom? Perhaps seeing him disappear, was punishment enough?

'So Mukuro-kun, Hayato-kun, what did you want to talk to me about? Possibly separately though?' Touka inquired the other two.

'That would be for the best.' Mukuro smiled.

'Well, he got first, so I'll wait my turn.' Gokudera decided. 'I'll wait an hour incase this goes long.'

'Ah it's OK Hayato-kun, you should stay too.' Touka smiled. 'Its probably advice or something about skills.' that was a lie. She sensed that they're here for the same thing, so the others left them in the cafeteria. Yamamoto and Ryohei dejectedly leaving with Nagi and Lambo, following Rimuru. Hibari's gone long ago before the awkwardness in the cafeteria.

'Touka, you're a mafia child aren't you?' Mukuro delivered it bluntly to her shock before resignation on her face. Gokudera was just as shocked that Mukuro was also mafioso and knew what Touka was as well before she died. 'You used terminology only high-level mafioso would know.' he said. 'Only high-ranking mafioso would know of, and have access to the power of Flames.'

'Its not like I asked for it.' Touka smiled bitterly. 'I was both in denial and skeptical. Even worse when that baby claiming to be my tutor and world's best hitman with arrogance enough to light up Tokyo for years forced himself into my life that morning and made demands like he owned my very life. I'm apparently, the hidden heir of the Vongola Family after my predecessor's sons got killed.'

'I heard of that.' said Gokudera, deciding to out himself, causing Mukuro to glance at him. 'Enrico was assassinated at a bar night out by sniping. Massimo got the concrete shoes and found in an Aquarium Park by employees. And this year, Federico's bones were found.' he elaborated. 'I was hired by Reborn-san to enroll in your school to motivate you a little by scare tactics but he clearly left out information I should have known.' he said glumly. 'He never said you were mistreated and abused. He just told me that you're clumsy, no-good in school and useless. His instructions on me, would backfire horribly! Not even I would stoop that low had I been informed better! I have standards!' he pled his case that he's a decent person, thank you very much. 'I would have approached you differently if he wanted to instill confidence!'

'At least I got that much from you.' Touka chuckled sadly, appreciating Gokudera's honesty. 'You actually will do the right thing.' Gokudera felt himself preen with praise in his heart. He's a good guy for all his crimes, OK? He's a professional, he doesn't enjoy his crimes for shits and giggles, he does it to GET PAID.

'I will continue.' she continued. 'He then asked me if I have a crush on someone. I said no and he smiled so arrogantly, saying, I'm lying...and then took out his gun and aimed at me, saying, 'regret with your dying will' and shot me in the head.'

'Nani?! He himself, killed you?!' Gokudera's eyes popped. 'I was told you got assassinated! He lied to me!' he burst out indignantly.

'Now now Hayato, there is something in that snarky arcobaleno's words.' Mukuro told him with a dark smile. 'He used a Dying Will Bullet on Touka. Its a bullet manufactured by Vongola Famiglia.' Hayato gaped at him while Touka was intrigued with his explanation. 'Once it's shot at a person, they die. If they feel regret when they were shot, they are resurrected with a flame on their forehead and compelled to do a task they have regrets with and accomplish that task...with the embarrassing side effect of destroying clothes, except for underwear.'

'Ah...' Mukuro must be a high-ranking mafioso in an organization, Gokudera thought.

'Well, I accepted my death.' Touka smiled. 'You seriously expect me to believe his nonsense? I don't want to be a mafia if that helps. I smiled at Reborn mockingly, before passing away in peace as my one and only moment of telling him, 'fuck you'.' Mukuro's dark smile got wider in glee and...respect for her while Hayato was astonished with her. 'And then I began to hear Voices as I died. My regrets in life and wishes I wished I had manifested as Skills in this world before I reincarnated as a human orphan named Dita. But one thing I did not expect, was something about my flames...I gained the knowledge about Sky Flames, gaining it as a Skill, and a memory sealed away.'

'A sealed memory?' Gokudera inquired.

'Yes. Apparently, my father took his foreign boss home when I was seven years old, before I began elementary school. He stayed with us for a week, acting like a nice grandpa...but on his last day, they took me to my room and daddy put me on his lap. Grandpa then pointed at me, his finger lighting on fire and there's a cold look on his face and poked my forehead...and I knew no more after that. It was a memory buried and that week-long visit was buried as well.' Touka continued. 'When I woke up as Dita, I never felt so betrayed by my own father in my whole life.' she shook in anger. 'Why he did that with that old man, I never knew...even after Reborn told me about this mafia business. He let that old man hurt me.'

Mukuro and Gokudera did NOT expect that. Vongola Nono did something to her, and made her forget that crime. Why, is anyone's guess now.

But for Mukuro, because Vongola Succession is through blood, unless Sawada Iemitsu gets his wife pregnant, Vongola will collapse for sure. The biggest mafia famiglia will meet its fall through arrogance! Their fault for being so smarmy and ahem, mishandling their last heir! Mukuro felt sadistic pleasure course his veins and gained respect for Touka for dealing massive damage with sheer bravery at her last moments. She unwittingly aided his cause, by the way!

'At least by choosing death, I was free and got happier over here. I have a life I lived to be proud of. I wouldn't change it for anything.' Touka smiled happily. 'In my orphanage, I had many siblings out of fire-forged bonds as we all suffered under shitty sorry excuses for caretakers. We all starved and we were stress relief punching bags, going hungry for days until I awakened and killed them, so I could begin caring for my fellow orphans until I was age thirteen when I became a Demi-Human. I did what I could, so they can get by because I cannot come with them or I will be killed by the city's forces just for being a monster. I found a niche eventually as a teacher here, and adults who did right. I finally had people to turn to when before, I had nothing.'

'I see...well, that's one way of living well.' Gokudera scratched his head. 'Guess we should find our own niche here too. Naa?' he glanced at Mukuro.

'That's true.' Mukuro chuckled. 'We should accept our reality, and find our calling in this town.'

'But about Yamamoto and Sasagawa...' Gokudera frowned anxiously. 'How will you deal with them?'

'My business is long finished, Hayato.' Touka told him. 'Ryohei has never done me wrong like I said and he is not obliged to apologize for someone who never will.' she said coolly. 'And Takeshi will take a long while to earn my good will back. By the way, in this world only sovereigns, nobles and respected social figures can use surnames here, Get used to yobisute.'

xxx

'Well, you all heard what she has to say.' Rimuru told them in his office. The Namimori boys were there as well as Nagi and Lambo while Mukuro and Gokudera stayed behind to talk to Touka in the school canteen. 'And you must accept her decision.' he said. 'A few minutes of sorry, cannot easily wipe away what happened to her. That is but a small step to the path of forgiveness and reconciliation. After that first step, you must keep walking until the day she forgives you. You must make it up to her in a way she would accept, Takeshi-kun.' Yamamoto nodded. 'Ryohei-kun, she is correct, even if your sister Kyoko could never make it up to her. But at least, you did the right thing. That's what's important.'

'Hai.'

'Off to bed now kiddos, to rest.' Rimuru smiled. 'Its another long day tomorrow.'
