The Hase Jäger Chapter 2
Labyrinth City Orario: Hestia Familia Lodgings
Afternoon: Sunset
Third Person: Omni
"Kami-Sama, I am back." He steps down the steps to the basement of the rundown abode, the eagle on his shoulder taking a gander at the place he has been staying with skeptical eyes.
"Welcome back, Bell!" You sure are early today." Not even paying attention, a lady with a white a blue dress jumped into the young man, forcing Khutulun to fly off his shoulder and perch on the coat stand. Though Bell was smiling down at his goddess.
"Yeah, I almost got killed in the dungeon today…" The raptor looks at him in surprise, while the black-haired lady in twin tails starts looking him over extensively, not even noticing the bird on their rack.
"Are you okay!?. Does it hurt anywhere!? If you die it would be extremely traumatic to me!" Her questions were rapid as she grasps at different parts of the body, behind, front, and anything in between. And while speaking the last question, somehow got curled her legs on his shoulders to look down at him.
"It is fine my goddess, I am the only Hestia Familia member. I wouldn't leave you alone in the world." He remarks while kneeling on one leg after setting her gently on the ground. Khutulun just does what can only be the equivalent of an eye roll.
"Glad to hear it! I am choosing to believe that, you better not let me down." Her happy smile was quite cute on her face. Though Bell is still the oblivious child that the bird always knew. Her exciting attitude matches very well with him though.
"Oh yea, I have a delicious present for you today." She hops up, bringing her breasts along with it, quite the distracting sight for anyone with a libido. She quickly turns and gestures to the table, on which there were fried pucks that were fried golden. Yeah, the situation started to be easier to read for the raptor.
"Where did you get those fried potatoes." While he did know that she often worked when he was off in the dungeon, it was not like he extensively asked what she did during the day. He was just happy that she gave him a place to stay and a family to be in.
"Since more customers came in today, they gave me a reward." She looks at him smugly, extremely pleased with the work that she did today. Her hair swaying around with all the movements of her head that she dealt with.
"Wow, Kami-Sama." Bell claps as she cheesily grins at the young man. The third observer just puts her wing over her head in embarrassment. The goddess stands there, extremely happy with the praise that he gave her.
"Still couldn't find anyone who wanted to join my familia." While they ate, they discussed what happened to her for the day, as much as they should have been talking about Bell's day. Her voice while saying that is nonchalant, probably extremely used to the situation.
"It can't be helped considering that I am a goddess that no one has heard of." A bit of a self-deprecating statement, and exaggerated as well, but it did hold the truth of the matter.
"You get the same blessing no matter which god you serve." He passingly remarks as he takes another bite of the fried potato, making sure to sprinkle some salt on it. The apex predator of the room just looks annoyed to not have any dinner of her own, though she did hunt over the three days she flew over here.
"Well, I wouldn't be in distress if it is only us two for a little bit longer." She looks over at the young man while leaning back on the sofa, taking in the sight of him eating the food that she procured today. Though as she mumbled that phrase to herself, he looked over to her.
"No, no, no. It does bother me that I am making you do the work all alone." She quickly dispelled that thought from her mind, blushing and leaning down to her lap, embarrassed at the thought that was unspoken.
"Please do not worry yourself. You are working yourself as well after all. You even brought us dinner tonight." He smiles at her, making sure to say the words on his mind that spawned from her self-deprecating comments. It did help pick up her mood.
"Caw." The only flight-capable being of the room decided to have them note her presence. Though it probably wouldn't even end with anything explicit from the way Bell acts around women.
"Bell, what is up with the bird?" Hestia finally noticed the bird perched on the coat rack, somehow staying balanced even though her bulk should have it tilting to the wayside.
"Kami-Sama, this is Khutulun, My master's eagle who was sent to look after me while guiding a courier to where I live." He quickly introduced the Eagle who took care of him for many years. Khu looked at the young man she took care of, while his master was the one who took care of her when she hatched as the runt of the nest, she decided to make Bell her master.
"Caw." She bowed to the one who took care of her master for the past few weeks. Though she couldn't wait till she heard about how he arrived at the labyrinth city. It would probably be an angering tale to her though.
"Nice to meet you." Hestia looked at the bird with a raised brow, it is not all that common to tame animal companions. Or any animals in Orario besides ones that are being butchered or livestock. Well, those and monsters of course.
_(Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In The Dungeon)_
"Bell, you are too optimistic about the dungeon you know." Hestia remarks whilst ricking her finger with a needle. She sits atop him with you man only wearing the bottom half of his usual wear, though neither of them felt it was inappropriate.
"You will never pick up the girls you are looking for in a brutal place like that." The drop of divine blood falls onto the rabbit-like teen's back, making a stylized tattoo of a hearth appear upon it. Besides the obvious lines that would make it look that way there were, there was a set of numbers and letters.
"Like that Ais girl." She remarks a set of words and letters float up off of the back of her only familia member. The numbers adjusting themselves like an analog clock counting up digits. The white writing was surrounded by blue light, adjusting themselves to be in line with his achievements.
"There will be guys after her aswell. I bet that she has a man or two she likes already." She remarks in an annoyed manner, though both of the others in the room could tell that she was annoyed with that tone of voice, only the bird could tell it was because she was jealous of the swordswoman.
"My Goddess, are you upset?" The only one who decided to voice his question was obviously the one who caused her annoyance in the first place.
"Of course not." She remarks in a clipped tone, shutting down that avenue of conversation. Her eyes widen as a previously blank section began to form words. The first one that appeared was something that was already inline with a skill that she would expect that he would gain. The other was something she did not expect at all.
"Is something wrong?" And he noticed her gasp in surprise at the sudden development of three skills, though she would try her best to hide one of them. She quickly made some words to assuage his worries as she updates the lettering on his back.
"Listen up, you need to pay attention to what is around you. The girls you are looking for might just be infront of you already." While she was talking conversationally, a paper was placed on his back in order to copy down the status changes that happened while she was updating his stats.
"Infact, you have already met a woman who will hold and love you." She made several expresive moments from utop his body. Getestureing animatedly, though it was not like he could see her doing these things. Definitely could feel it, however. Khutulun just put a wing to her beaked face as she watches her master being as oblivious as when he left the town.
"Well, since she is in the Loki Familia, it is not like you could marry her anyway." She hopped off his back and sat to the side of the bed, making sure to rub on the last skill of the list, trying to erase it before he gets a chance to see it.
"You should forget that girl and look at the happiness right infront of you." She states in a slightly teasing tone as she brings the page to his hands. Not quite able to wipe off the skill fully before the ink dried itself.
"You are being mean my goddess." He remarks as he finally takes a look at his new stats. Of course, there are the obvious changes in Str, Dex, and Agi, with his strength reaching the upper eighties and dex finally making it into the 100s. But the most massive jump was his agility, all the way to 200. His mana was still rock bottom at 0.
"Seems that my agility went up a lot." He remarks while looking at the numbers section of his sheet. It was only at 156 originally. Going up into the G rank from H.
"Probubly from being chased by a minotaur." She remarks while looking away from him. The bird just looks at her with exasperation, already knowing the skill she was trying to hide and the reason why she was trying to act uninterested.
"Mana is still at zero… will I ever be able to use magic?" He questions his aptitude for it, though he really wants to be able to use magic. He had seen his master use water magic before, and even the guest could do wind magic.
"My goddess, I have skills now!" He quickly turned to face her, though the goddess was picking at her fingernail. The first one was something that he had not heard of before, Hunter's Footsteps: Whenever running, mutes the sound of footsteps. And the second skill was Ranger's Intuition: The ability to notice fine details much easier when compared to others.
"You only got two, my finger slipped." She remarks while trying to be as nonpulsed as possible. But he was already happy with the two new skills that he gained. But she was happy about the two other skills as well. It made him happy, and most importantly, safe enough so that he could return to her. Khu just kept staring at her with an unamused look in her eyes.
"I am going to prepare for bed… though I think I might not be able to sleep with all this excitement." He placed the paper back down onto the bed before doing his nightly ritual. Hestia waited till she heard the door close before looking at the page. Rubbing the line with her index finger, the words Realis Phrase showed itself, white filling in what wasn't already shown in black. The ability to grow quickly as long as those feelings last. The stronger the feelings the stronger the effect is.
"Congrats Bell, you finally got some skills." She breathed under her breath, Khu looked happy as well, she got the feeling the skill would do more harm then good if it were to be revealed to others.
"But it bugs me that it was someone else that changed you." She pouted, in a cute manner if you were to ask anyone that would have observed it. Khu just did what can only be considered the raptor version of a smile.
Labyrinth City Orario: Hestia Familia Lodgings
Early Morning: Dawn
"Mmm." The sound of a female was what Bell woke up to in the morning. Though she is incredibly close to him… made especially clear by the fact that he was sleeping on the couch when she decided to join him on it. He smiled lightly at the sight of her under the blankets, in a wholesome manner ofcourse.
But then she moved up a bit in her sleep, her breast bouncing on his body as she climbed up to him. He panicked slightly as he changed their positions so that he could get the day started. Khu looks over from her perch, having woken up long ago. She was far used to early morning practice with Bell's mentor.
He quickly put his stuff on in a hurry, he needed to send Khu to pick up the person who had the rest of his stuff before heading down to the dungeon. Khu quickly flew to his shoulder, making sure not to grasp too hard, otherwise the jacket and shirt underneath would be torn to shreds, much less her master that was under both layers.
"I am off my goddess." He quietly states as he slowly walks out the door in order to make sure that she did not wake up unneeded. She mumbled something in her sleep that had Khu looking amused when she caught the last sight over her on her living perch.
Labyrinth City Orario: Merchant District
Morning: Little Past Dawn
"Man that was close, maybe she was half asleep." He mumbled to himself while scratching his face with his gloved right hand. He suddenly felt someone was looking at him. His skill quickly worked itself without his notice as he turned to one of the towers for the Freya Familia. One that he only knew after trying to apply for it a few weeks earlier. It felt like someone was watching his soul. Khu quickly got ready to fly and support him, though she looked oblivious to the untrained eye.
"Who was that?"He thought to himself while looking at the building. But the feeling was already gone, it looks like they noticed his alert movements. Khu returned to her regular state, keeping a vigilant eye incase things were to happen.
"Um…" A young woman's voice sounded out extremely near his ear as if she was speaking only a few inches away from his ear. He quickly turned to face the person and ended right infront of her face. She stepped back a few steps in surprise.
"Sorry bout that. Do you need anything?" He kept his voice cheerfully polite, though his alert state did not die down just yet. She quickly noticed her attire and silver hair with a white headband that would be seen on maid uniforms. Green dress orange tie and a white apron to finish off what he could see in the first few seconds along with her silver eyes.
"You dropped this." She remarks in a slightly demure manner. The small blue magic stone rested on the palm of her fair hand. He knew that he had traded in everything and did not drop any of his magic stones. He did keep count of how many he kills and how many are at the guild with him.
"I thought I traded them all yesterday." In order to make a clueless appearance, he decided to hold it up in the air. He did not know her motivations or if she had thought he was a different pers.
"Thank you for giving it back to me." He quickly bowed to her in order to see what her reaction would be. If it was supposed to be a gift to boost a new adventurer it was done in quite a strange manner.
"You are an adventurer, right? Heading to the labyrinth early?" She quickly asked him while leaning forward slightly. A cute attentive expression on her face as she looked into his eyes as if to measure something.
"Yeah I guess, well after I send her off to get some stuff for me." He remarks with a smile as he gestures to the beautiful eagle… it is surprising the number of times they ignore her when talking to Bell. But he quickly had his stomach grumbling since he had not eaten anything today.
"It may not be much…" She said with a smiley face, all of a sudden without even noticing it, he already had a bento in his hands. Wrapped in orange and white cloth, it was fairly small in the palm of his two hands.
"I couldn't though. I can't just take the lunch of someone I just met. And it is your breakfast isn't it?" He made the exclamation quickly, now he knew that she was indeed a caring person on the full way through… but why did she give him that magic stone.
"Don't worry about that. I can get something to eat once the pub opens up." She looks over at the store that was currently closed, the tables with chairs on them, and the other servers running around to get things ready. One of them looked over at the pair from inside.
"In exchange, you eat here later tonight when you come back. It's a promise. Or is it not okay?" She said the first sentence with a hand under her chin before leaning forward to have an admonishing gesture towards him. And upon the final words with a finger to her lips as she spoke in an extremely demure tone.
"O-okay. But I can't just take it without giving anything. Please take it." He remarks with a smile and in a stunned manner. Khu just put a wing to her eye, a face wing if you would. He could see that she was already interested in him. He then gave her the magic stone back and ran off before she could speak about it.

FFN
Archive keeper: So is the Rabbit hunter trained by Artemis? Or not?
Response: Bell was not trained by Artemis before this… could do so in the future, but that might be a while before they meet.
Haziq Saffar: Wonder who is Bell's master?
Response: Bell's master is… a surprise still waiting to be triggered. But is definite an OC in the meta sense, however, as more details come out, the characters might get in inkling of who he is.
pix25: Good start
Response: Why thankyou, glad you enjoyed it.
