Chapter 5: Nights End
~ Friday the 13th, 11:39 PM ~
Sienna was led from the Generator Shed, down the path by the lake, out to the center of the camp. For every step that she takes she can feel the killer poking her in the back with the point of a blade. The rain has long since stopped falling but the night is still dark and occasionally there is a small lightning flash accompanied shortly by thunder. Sienna knows what is coming next but wondered why she wasn't dead already. The killer could have run her through with her blade as soon as she entered the shed, but they didn't.
"That's far enough." The gravelly distorted voice tells Sienna. Sienna finds herself in the middle of the Campgrounds.
"You're going to kill me here for the owner to find when he comes back tomorrow," Sienna asks her would-be killer.
"Yes." The voice replies.
"Then tell me why... what could I and my co-workers have done to merit dying?" Sienna asks. Sienna knows she doesn't have anything to lose so she turns around to face her killer. The person's face is masked but Sienna can clearly make out the piercing blue eyes that are staring into her own.
"You killed my son." The voice answers.
"No we did not. No one has been seriously injured, we haven't even had to send anyone home." Sienna tells the deranged individual.
"My son drowned here because little hussies like you spend more time on your backs than they do watching their charges. Victoria, Melinda, Sydney... all of them spent the night fornicating and they died for their sins." The shadowy figure yells. The problem is they are moving about so much because they are so agitated that they are not speaking into the voice changer directly.
"I didn't know you were old enough to be a mother... Denise." Sienna says backing off just a bit. The figure just glares at Sienna's accusation. Sienna then points two fingers at her eyes and then points to her killer.
The killer reaches into the neck of their coat and grabbing the bottom of their mask pulls it up and off their face.
"You?" Sienna says in surprise. Standing before her holding a very sharp machete was the last person Sienna would suspect. Paula, the waitress at the diner that they frequented was looking at Sienna with a deranged expression on her face.
Paula takes a step forward holding the machete parallel to the ground. "My son was innocent. The staff never kept an eye on the kids after dark... He should never have been anywhere near the water alone. Your lot never do what you should... you never pay atten..."
Sienna did not realize what was about to happen until it happens. Paula was in her tirade and looked like she was about to run her through her machete when a metal garbage can was dropped over the head of the five-foot-nine-inch tall deranged waitress. Once the can was over her head the machete falls to the ground and Paula is shoved through the brush into the woods.
Sienna stares at Jackson Fuller who is breathing heavily after that action. Sienna hopes she has not lost her grasp on reality but Jackson takes her hand and pulls her from the spot she was rooted at and leads her down the path towards the direction of the archery range.
Paula found herself rolling into a tree inside of a smelly metal garbage can. She was dazed by the fact that something metal came smashing down atop her head when she didn't expect it. Her neck was in pain from having the weight of the can coming down on her head and she was shoved over some brush into the woods. She rolled a few times and once she stopped Paula squirmed until she was finally able to climb out of the can that reached her thighs. Picking herself off the ground, Paula let out an angry cry as she reeked of garbage. Standing up, she dusted off whatever crap was stuck to her and trudged from the woods back to the spot that she last saw the blonde Sienna Logan. She picks up her machete and looks around at the campground.
"Fuller... it has to be," Paula says looking around and seeing no new vehicles. Jackson Fuller looked dead, he was bleeding from an open wound but Paula was so busy with Manning and then searching for Sienna Logan that she did not have time to make sure that his wound was truly fatal. Running the situation over in her head again she knows she cut Fuller based on the fact that his poncho was cut and when he hit the water his bloody back was super obvious. She could see blood in the water via the moonlight but again, she did not have time to ensure that he bled out nor to see how deep his wound truly was.
"This time I don't stop until I've hacked them into cutlets," Paula says aloud as she makes her way to the lesbian's cabin to make sure that the keys for the truck are still in that cabin..
Jackson and Sienna race into the barn and once inside push the doors closed. Sienna puts her weight behind the doors while Jackson grabs the bar to put across the doors to keep the barn secure. The two teens are now out of breath as they ran as fast as humanly possible. Sienna starts to get highly emotional and just about tackles Jackson who is still trying to catch his breath.
"Thought... thuuu... I... thought you... were dead." Sienna finally manages to get out as the tears of joy run down her face.
Jackson doesn't try to speak at that moment. Words are hard to come by until his breathing goes back to normal. He also is a bit lightheaded from the massive blood loss he has suffered. Jackson gives Sienna a soft kiss and then turning her head points to the first aid kit mounted on the opposite wall. Sienna stands and goes to collect it. Jackson is leaning against the wall and reaches for his soaked shirt. Sienna sees the look of pain on Jackson's face as he tries to pull it over his head. When he finally gets the shirt off he turns around and Sienna sees the giant gash running down Jacksons back. The cut fortunately is not very deep but it looks awful. Jackson kneels down on his knees and Sienna pulls out the Neosporin to clean his wound. Once that is done she applies a liquid bandage to the wound as there is not enough wrap to apply to Jackson's back.
Jackson points to the shirt in the tool area that was left by Steven the last time he was here. It was a button-down red flannel shirt that had the sleeves ripped off. He had brought it as he knew there would be physical labor and he didn't want to wreck a good shirt. Sienna helped Jackson put it on to keep from hurting his back.
"How are you still alive?" Sienna asks doing her best to comfort Jackson.
"Mike's warning," Jackson says wrapping his arms around Sienna. "Even though he didn't get it all out I got the gist of it." Explained Jackson. "I felt the blade running along my back so I pushed out and away from the attack. I felt the blood running down my back so I overacted and hit the water face first. I let the water carry me out and held my breath as long as I could until I was sure it was safe to turn my head and take a breath. As soon as the killer turned their attention towards finding you I just maneuvered myself under the dock. Paula was so busy dealing with trying to find you that she forgot all about me."
"Thank you for saving me," Sienna says following it up with another kiss.
"Rescue... I rescued you. We won't be safe until this crazy bitch is dead." Jackson states.
"Dead?" Sienna repeats.
"Sienna, I don't mean to be harsh but it's either her or us. She can't get away with everything she has done if you and I are still alive. We are living witnesses... she has to kill us or she can kiss her life goodbye." Jackson reminds Sienna. Sienna quickly realizes that Jackson is correct, it's Paula's life, or theirs.
"Ok, what should we do?"
~ 11:54 PM ~
Paula trudges down the dark path from the campground down towards the archery range. There are only two things down this way where the two teens can safely hide. She reminds herself that after killing then beheading John that she set out all of the bear traps that she had purchased for this evening. The quality of said traps varied in quality but they would do the job of trapping either man or horse. She knew that someone might slip away from her and think about using one of the horses. The horse path would be the most logical path to take so she booby-trapped it and various parts of the woods to keep anyone from trying to hide in that area. Likewise, she had disabled Melinda's truck and has her keys so the truck is no longer an escape method.
Stepping up to the door of the archery cabin, Paula pushes the door open with the ax that she used to kill Mike Manning with. The lights are out so reaching into the cabin on the right side, Paula flips the switch. The room is empty of people but there are several spots that someone could hide in. Paula uses the ax to pull open the weapons closets to check to see if Fuller or Logan are foolish enough to hide in them. The closets are filled with the arrows the kids use and the bows. moving about she quickly finds the cabin bare so she decides to move on to the final spot they could logically be hiding in... the barn.
Paula grins as she sees the barn door is secure. She knows for a fact that it was not like this an hour ago while she was tearing her way through the camp looking for Sienna. Paula reaches the double door and plants her machete in the wet ground. Reaching out with her now empty right hand she pulls on the right door handle. The door jiggles but does not pull open. Paula pulls on the door harder trying to see if she can pull it open some but it does not budge.
"You put the heavy bar in place... well, that won't keep me out for long." Paula screams to the teens she believes are in the barn.
Paula winds up and brings the ax down around the door handles. The psychotic waitress talks to herself as she hits the door as hard as she can. "Kill 'em, mommy... KILLLLL THEMMMM!" She is talking in a squeaky high pitched voice.
"Don't worry Jason... mommy will get them," Paula replies in her own voice.
Paula chops away with a maniacal pace until she has broken enough of the door that she can now remove the bar holding the door in place. The deranged waitress enters the barn and taking a quick look sees that one of the stalls is empty. "I know you're here. Doors don't lock themselves from the inside."
Seeing the futility of hiding, Sienna Logan stands up from the empty stall. She exits the stall but she is not unarmed. In her left hand is the pitchfork that the counselors use on the hay. Sienna holds the pitchfork out in a defensive manner.
"Where's your boyfriend?
"Didn't you see him? He took a horse and went for help. I told him that we had to get the word out about you... even if I die, your cover as the saintly waitress will be blown." Sienna says holding her ground with the pitchfork.
"You're lying," Paula says but quickly notes that one of the horses is indeed missing. Her heart begins racing as she can't risk being discovered. Until the day this camp is closed forever she has to ensure there are no survivors.
"You're right," Sienna says with a grin on her face.
From the ledge of the second floor, Jackson drops down with the rope used to lift the hay bails to the second floor. Jackson waited for the right moment to lower a rope with a noose from his hiding spot above Paula. The moment the noose touches Paula's shoulders Jackson drops down and yanks, Paula, up. The noose tightens around the deranged waitress's neck and she grasps at the rope while her feet dangle in the air. Everything happens so fast Paula doesn't realize she's being lifted off her feet until it happens and she is at least a foot in the air.
Sienna watches as Paula's feet begin to kick, but they are slowing until finally they stop and Paula's body is swaying in the barn doorway. Jackson, satisfied that he has dealt with Paula walks over to Sienna who lowers the pitchfork and hugs Jackson Fuller. Sienna sobs as the events of the day come crashing back to her. She knows for sure from Paula's insane rant that the others are dead. While all life is sacred and should be cherished she feels sorriest for Melinda and Sydney. They were so cute together and their love was apparent.
"She killed them... she killed them all..." Sienna says crying into Jackson's chest.
"I heard," Jackson says running his hand down Sienna's back trying to soothe her.
"They loved each other..." Sienna tells Jackson. "They didn't deserve to die for something they had nothing to do with."
"I know Sienna... I..." Jackson shoves Sienna away from him.
Sienna watches as Paula smashes Jackson across the face with a shovel. Jackson Fuller flies backward unconscious from the blow. Sienna scrambles back and barely evades the waitress's next attack. The blade of the shovel embeds itself in the ground and Sienna sees the rage on Paula's pale face. The traumatized mother sheds her overcoat and Sienna can see the rope burn around her neck. The waitress does not retrieve the shovel, with fire in her eyes she jumps on Sienna and begins throttling the blonde. Sienna fights back as best she can but the crazed mother's grip is like a vice. Grabbing hold of Paula's sleeves Sienna manages to roll her attacker off of her. However, Paula still retains her grip on Sienna. Sienna sees a spare bit for the horses that have been knocked down during the scuffle. Sienna reaches for it, straining for all her might. Sienna gets the end in two of her fingers and moves it closer to her until she can grasp the bit.
"Gahhh" Paula screams as she tightens her grip on Sienna's throat. She is so focused on strangling the life out of Sienna she never sees the younger woman swinging the bit at her face. The bit catches Paula in the temple and stuns her causing her to release her grasp on Sienna. Sienna gasps and sucks in a big breath of air. Her eyes are red and tears are in her eyes as her lungs are once again filled with life-giving air. Sienna crawls away from Paula and towards Jackson to check on him. She crawls two steps away before she feels those hands on the back of her head, grabbing two fists full of hair, yanks back Sienna's head, and rams it into the ground of the barn. Sienna feels her head being pulled back again and thrust into the earth once again. Paula pulls Sienna back again, this time pulling the bruised blonde back so that her lips are right against Sienna's right ear. "I'm going to kill you, then I'm going to kill your little boyfriend. Go join your slutty friends in hell!"
Sienna hears Paula's words and in a flash, she thinks about the six lives that have been ended by this psychotic witch. On instinct, Sienna jams her right thumb into Paula's right eye causing the psychopath to release her hold on the young blonde. As Paula reels from the injury Sienna scrambles back to the spot where Paula was hung from the noose. Sienna shuffles about on the ground until she finds it... Paula's machete. Gripping the weapon in two hands Sienna raises the blade up.
"I'll kill you, you little bitch... I'm gonna..." Paula says but then see's her target. Paula's left eye goes wide as Sienna closes the distance and swings the blade. Paula feels a sharp pain for only a second before her head comes away from her neck. Paula's head hits the ground and bounces into the corner of the barn.
Sienna stands breathing heavily holding the machete for several long moments before she makes her way over to Jackson's prone figure. Dropping the machete she plops down beside Jackson and cradles his head in her lap. Jackson has a massive welt on his forehead but she could feel him breathing steadily in her lap. Placing the machete beside her leg, Sienna rests her head against the wall before she passes out.

When Sienna Logan started coming to she found herself strapped to a gurney being loaded into the back of the Crystal Lake ambulance.
"Jackson... Jackson..." Sienna says looking around her.
"Sienna." The voice of her faux boyfriend says. Turning to her left Sienna sees Jackson is sitting in the ambulance. His head is bandaged but he looks to be fine. "We made it... we're ok." Jackson reaches out and takes hold of Sienna's hand. Sienna clutches his hand with all the strength she can muster. After the events of the past twenty-four hours, she feels very week.
"We're safe." Sienna meekly says as the doors to the ambulance are closed. The sirens wail and the EMT vehicle pulls out of the campgrounds, transporting the two teens from the place the locals call, Camp Blood.
~ Friday, July 27th, 2:25 PM ~
Donnie and Jessie Brown were parked at the five-mile mark before Camp Crystal Lake. The police determined that the power pole was cut down two weeks ago by Paula Voorhes. The deranged waitress wanted to cut power to the camp and sawed the pole so that the bad weather would knock it down. The pole was replaced by the replacement crew yesterday after they dug up the remains of the previous pole. Donnie moved the bucket of the truck to the town side and connected the first line. After the line was connected the brothers switched spots and ran the line.
"Wow... all this work because some psycho had to cut down a power pole," Jessie says putting their tools back in the truck.
"Look at the bright side, the work is done and we can take it easy for the rest of the afternoon," Donnie states pulling out the cooler with their food and drinks.
"Very true Donnie, very true."
"Hey Jess, can you set everything out, I have to go take a leak.' Donnie states.
"Yeah man, go."
Donnie makes his way into the wooded area on the camp side of the street and when he is sure that he is out of sight of any passerbyers he unzips his work uniform, and taking out his member begins peeing on the tree. Donnie is so busy relieving himself that he does not hear the footsteps behind him. Donnie is just tucking himself back in and turning around comes face to face with a machete. The blade is already in motion and cuts across Donnie's throat. Donnie grasps his throat in vain as the blood leaks from the wound. Donnie crashes to his knees before falling to the ground, lifeless.
Jessie is sitting in the bumper of the truck finishing off his submarine sandwich. Putting his sandwich down on its plastic wrapper collects his beer and pops the cap. Taking a big swig from his beer Jessie looks around for his brother. "Donnie... where are you?" Jessie yells.
Jessie looks in the van for something solid as he is worried about his brother. Even if he was deep in the woods he should have heard his name. Turning around, Jessie's heart is split in two by the same machete that killed his brother. Jessie gasps as his heart stops beating and his eyes roll into the back of his head. Jessie's body falls back into the truck and the killer stuffs Jessie's body into the back of the truck. Walking back to the woods, the unseen killer drags Donnie's body to the truck and loads it into the back. The killer then climbs into the front of the truck. Upon entering the truck the individual sees a treasured memento of Donnie Brown hanging from the rearview mirror... a hockey mask. The unknown individual takes the mask off the mirror and places it at their side. Starting up the truck, the killer drives off to hide the truck.
The End... For Now
