Obi-Wan made it back to his tent before Anakin woke up. He had left his lightsaber in Sundari, and he felt strangely bare without it. But the guards had taken with them when they left the room, and he had needed to sneak away before they returned, so he had been forced to leave it. He had to hope that Anakin wouldn't notice its absence.

Of course, he intended to distract Anakin as soon as he woke up, so hopefully it wouldn't be noticed. But for now, Anakin was sleeping, and Obi-Wan intended to get as much sleep as possible, because he wouldn't be getting much again the next night.

Anakin shook him awake shortly after sunup. "Wake up, old man." He laughed. "You're getting lazy in your old age."

Obi-Wan groaned. He wanted several more hours of sleep, but this would have to do. He swung his legs over the edge of the bed and slipped his feet into his boots. "I had an idea last night."

"What was it? How to sleep til noon?"

"No." Obi-Wan shook his head. Anakin was having far too much fun with this. "You know I've been to Sundari before?"

"Oh yes." Anakin laughed. "Visiting your girlfriend, yes, I know."

"She is not my girlfriend." Obi-Wan protested, but not too hard. Better Anakin think that than dig farther and discover the truth. "But I have been into the city before. I think I could get in again. And I know where the royal apartments are. If we can get there, we could kidnap the Duchess, and force the Mandalorians into surrendering."

Anakin nodded. "We'd have to wait til nightfall. Otherwise they would see us coming. That's good. Our men know we have reinforcements coming. They can take the day to rest and repair their equipment, and plan to join forces tomorrow. But if our plan goes well, we won't even need those additional men."

"Now can I go back to bed?" Obi-Wan groaned.

"Sure, old man. If we can capture the Duchess tonight, I don't care what you do."

Obi-Wan slept most of the day, waking up in the evening to plan out his adventure with Anakin. The men had enjoyed the day of rest, and were eager to attack the next morning, as soon as the reinforcements arrived. Obi-Wan and Anakin slipped out of the camp as soon as the sun went down. No one but Rex and Cody knew where they were going. The two men weren't happy about the plan, but they were too well trained to argue. The trip back to Sundari seemed faster the second time, and the moon had barely moved by the time they were through the outer walls.

The two scaled the garden walls together, then climbed up the walls of the palace onto the balcony, hoping to reduce the noise they made. They crept into the room, sneaking toward the bed. Anakin ignited his lightsaber, just as the door crashed open. The room flooded with guards, and the figure in the bed threw off the covers and pointed their rifle at them as well. Anakin attempted to fight them off, but with a rifle to Obi-Wan's back, there was only so much he could do.

The guards grabbed their weapons and bound their hands, dragging them out into the corridor, and into the throne room. The duchess was sitting on her throne, her gaze angry. "Jedi. What are you doing in my city? I thought I had made my position on your occupation quite clear."

Neither of them answered her. What exactly could they say? 'We were hoping to capture you while you were asleep and kidnap you?' Not exactly what you want to say to the woman who was holding them prisoner.

The duchess waved her hand. "Take them to the dungeons." She ordered. "I will contact the Republic in the morning to inform them we have their generals in custody."

The two were dragged down to the dungeons. Anakin attempted to resist a couple times, and after that, their jailers were not incredibly gentle in their handling. By the time they were thrown into a cell, Anakin had several bruises beginning to form, as well as a black eye, and Obi-Wan had a couple of broken ribs and was bleeding from a cut above his eye.

As the door shut behind them, Obi-Wan sank against the wall. Anakin hurried to his side, helping him down to the ground. "That went well." He muttered wryly.

Obi-Wan huffed a laugh, then winced, doubling over in pain. "They were prepared for us. We must be more predictable than we thought."

"Well, the plan was sound. Our execution was a little off, however." Anakin sank to the ground beside Obi-Wan. "What do you think they're going to do with us?"

"I have no idea. Before we invaded, I think I could have answered that question, but now that they're no longer the peaceful system they once were, I have no answer."

Obi-Wan leaned his head against the wall, the lack of sleep finally catching up to him, along with the pain of his injuries. "Whatever it is, there's nothing we can do about it now. Let's get some rest. It sounds like we have a call to the senate in the morning."
