Flashback
Sasuke was sweating and twitching in his bed. He was having a nightmare. Sakura held on to him.
"It's okay… it's just a dream…" She whispered
His eyes opened in a flash, Rinnegan in one and the dreaded glowing Mangekyon in the other. Sakura released her regeneration jutsu and held him in place. "Sasuke! Wake up!"
He blinked slowly and his shoulder's relaxed. Sakura let go of him. He sat up.
"Did I…." Hurt you was left implied as he panted…
"No…" She said
He pulled her onto his lap and hugged her. Sakura was held him and stroked his hair. He felt every single one of her curves pressed up against him. He couldn't remember the last time he had human contact. He breathed her in like she was the reason he was alive. From that fist night she had been next to him. His days were filled with interrogation with Ibiki and his nights, they were filled with pain and nightmares but on some lucky days she was there and he could hold her. His 2 year sentence had come to an end. He didn't know what he wanted anymore. He could stay, he could leave. He didn't know if he was looking for a reason to stay or if he felt weak because Ibiki had been particularly horrid to him today, but as she pulled back he drew her in and kissed her.
The kiss was tentative but before they knew it, it got deep and passionate. They came up for air panting Sakura looked at him for moment before leaning in to kiss him. Taking the permission he pulled her out of loose t-shirt she had on and ran his hands along her skin. It was like a fire within in came to life. He rolled them over began ravishing her with as much desperation as she was touching and clawing him with. He didn't know when the rest of their clothes were discarded, but the second he buried himself in her, he felt complete. She bit onto his shoulder as he thrust deeper and deeper. "My perfect, my precious, my beloved, my sakura…" He whispered in her ear as they moved… "I love you" she's said and he'd responded with a kiss. That night he showered her with every emotion he'd held back. He swore to protect her. He made love to her over and over and over again. She was his first, he vowed in his heart, she would be his only. It was only when dawn began to lighten the night sky that they finally fell asleep in each other's arms. As he held her, a single tear fell from his eye and his heart felt lighter than it had in years. He looked out the window, the Sakura tree in his backyard had a few flowers blooming. Spring would be here soon.
Flashback ends
Sasuke woke up at the crack of dawn. His house had been rebuilt as it was but the rest of the Uchiha compound was gone. It was simply part of the village now. He was glad that his house was still in the outskirts and that he had his own little patch of land to tend to. After spending a little time in the mud hoping to recreate the garden of his childhood, he dressed and left for his first day at work. Walking through the village was like a bad dream, not much had changed he thought, but at least she didn't have to go through this. When they were stuck in the time loop she'd said it was not his choice, silly girl, of course it was. There was no way, he would let the woman he loved be insulted by his status or lack thereof. Even today there was animosity, but his police commander's uniform ensured that it stayed quiet and distant.
Flashback
He had been watching her sleep with a smile on his face. When she stirred, he pushed a lock of beautiful pink hair aside. She opened her eyes and he kissed her forehead
"You're smiling…." She observed with a smile "I didn't know you could…" she teased
He raised and eyebrow and kissed her on the lips this time
"What time is it…" She asked
"Afternoon…" He said still watching
"Oh… well… I'm off from the hospital anyway… so…." She said suddenly shy of the nakedness between them
"Hungry?" He asked stroking her hair
"Yes" she said with a smile….
"Hn…" he said with a smile and got up and started getting dressed "Wait for me…" Was all he said as he jumped out the window to get food
When he reached the market however, the same old slurs and whispers started again. Only Ichiraku was willing to serve him. As he brought two bowls of ramen Ichiraku said
"You have company? That's nice…"
He gave a polite smile and began to walk the whispered conversations started following him.
"Wonder how much he paid for company… I doubt any self respecting girl would want a traitor… " a woman said to another as they tutted
A little ahead he heard a couple of men talking "I've hear Sakura spends time with him…" "Haruno san? Why?" "I guess all girls like bad boys" "Well, I'll be there when he chucks her aside like he did the village… " "Oh yea? Get in line…" Sasuke clenched his jaws but continued to walk ahead
"I'm glad the Uchiha line is ending with him, I hope he doesn't sire any more worthless traitors…" A man said to which a woman replied "Who knows how many he's sired out of the village, boys like him, they like to sow their wild oats you know…"
"My, isn't he hot…" a girl whispers "Wasn't he Orochimaru's lab rat, god knows if he's even stable enough? Who knows what he might do to someone when he's alone with them…" her friend whispers back "Really?" The girl asks and her friend nods in disapproval
"I've heard he was Sakura's first love, so she spends time with him…" an old lady said "We all like our first love till we meet out second…" the other old lady said and they laughed "Now that boy from Suna… he's a nice match for our girl…" "which one?" "The kazakage! Didn't you hear, he's very fond of her since she saved his life…" "oh really?" "Brought him back from the dead is what I heard…"
"Look there goes the embarrassment of Konoha…" A man said loudly and another spat at Sasuke's feet
By the time Sasuke got out of the village, he knew, he knew he couldn't put Sakura through any of this. When he landed inside the house, Sakura was in the shower. He kept the food on the table and wrote note 'I'm sorry…' He picked up his trusty Katana and left.
End Flashback
People glared at him from a distance as he made his 5 minute long walk to the Police Station. He could feel their resentment and hatred. He held his head high and vowed to make them all eat their words. When he arrived, he expected it to be a lonely day because who would want to work with an Uchiha, but he was pleasantly supposed to find Neji with a few Clan members as well as Ino and Shikhamaru with a few people waiting. There were even a few Jounin who he recognised as friends of Naruto and Sakura who were waiting for him. He gave small smile and a nod and they got to work.
