Hello! I'm sorry it's been a minute, I'm having a tough time trying to wrap this story up, (I'm one of those people who will put off reading the last chapter of a book just because I don't want it to end) I don't want to give you guys anything other than something great, it's been a slow process, but I'd rather take a little longer than publish something that wasn't good.

Anyway, Jake's back! I know some people hate the Jake/Renesmee imprint thing, I'm still not completely sold on how the love triangle ended in Twilight, I guess I sort of understand why it panned out the way it did but still it's a little weird, but I digress. Enjoy the chapter!

BPOV

I swore only Alice could bring a vampire to the brink of exhaustion, at least mentally I was exhausted. This all seemed excessive, but Alice insisted that I no longer wear Edward's clothes as a substitute for maternity clothes. I had made every argument not to go, but she ultimately prevailed.

Right now, I was overly-eager to go home. I had spent most of the day separate from Edward and Renesmee, and I missed them so much. As a human it had made me anxious to be away from Edward, but now that feeling had intensified. I was completely restless being away from them. Once Alice had gotten sick of my anxious mood, she finally let us us leave.

I smelled the wolf stench a few miles out, why had one of the wolves stopped by? Which of them had stopped by? I hoped it was Jake, I hadn't wanted to say goodbye to him, he was probably one of the only things from my human life I didn't have to leave behind, but this complicated the situation.

What would he say about Renesmee? Had Edward explained what had happened or did they get into it again? Through the foggy memories, I remembered that neither of them had gotten along, it was a mixture of the natural inclination that came with having centuries of feuding under their belt but Jake had never like Edward for me either. The last few times I had seen Jake had been filled with tension about what my future would look like. And now here I was, still at least kind of alive. The last time I had seen Jake was like this, the day of my funeral, had he changed his mind? Would he loathe me and everything I had become?

"Alice hurry up, please," I implored, now even more anxious to get home.

I was even more curious when Edward and Jacob met us outside.

I rushed to Edward's side. I was hardly showing yet, but the heartbeat was definitely obvious. Edward wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me into a loving kiss, I smiled against his mouth. The anxiety that flowed through my system had almost all been washed away.

I pulled away when I heard Jake clear his throat.

"What are you doing here, Jake? Is everything okay?"

"It's good to see you too, Bella," he scoffed. I rolled my eyes and out of my peripheral I saw Edward shoot him a warning glare as I walked over a gave Jake a hug. He took note of the slight roundness that hadn't been there before.

"Jake it's..." I paused, not knowing exactly how to explain.

"It's alright, my love. I've already explained everything to him," Edward said, and I couldn't help but wonder why he had explained everything to Jake. "Everyone is inside. Shall we join them? Renesmee's been asking for you," Edward added before I could question anything.

I nodded and took Edward's hand as we walked inside.

I had barely made it through the door when Renesmee ran over to me and I scooped her up, enveloping her in a tight embrace.

"Are...er... should you be that close to her? Isn't it dangerous for a newborn, you know bloodlust and all?" Jake asked hesitantly.

"It's fine, Jacob," Edward defended. I tried to keep myself calm, but all I could think was who was he to be judging if I was a danger to my daughter. "Bella has amazing control, and she'd never hurt our daughter. Just because I'm understanding doesn't mean I won't hesitate to throw you out," Edward snapped to my defense. I narrowed my eyes at the two of them, there was something they weren't telling me.

Everyone's eyes were volleying between the three of us, like they were all waiting for something to happen. Emmett's growing smirk was another tell-tale sign that something was amiss.

"Maybe we shouldn't push your limits, Bella?" Jake asked. I was trying really hard not to be offended by his lack of faith in me or that I would even think about putting my daughter in danger. She was months old and I had never even come close to harming her. How dare he come in here and try to set boundaries with my own child?

"What's your problem?" I demanded, still trying to keep myself calm.

"Oh, do tell her, Jacob," Rosalie said slyly as she came to take Renesmee from my arms, this time I let her because I could feel myself getting angrier.

"Er..."

"This should be good," Emmett snickered.

I puzzled over it, watching him stare at my daughter staring at her like...like he was a blind man seeing the sun for the very first time. I searched through my distant human memories, I remembered Jake talking about imprinting.

"You didn't," I seethed.

Edward placed a comforting hand on my shoulder, but I shrugged it off, "Please don't touch me right now. I don't want to hurt you, Edward."

He hesitantly dropped his hand, and I could see the worry growing on Jake's face.

"Take Renesmee out of the room, Rose," I asked quietly. I didn't want her to see me lose my temper. This time Jake flinched in concern. I grabbed him by the back of his neck and dragged him outside.

"How dare you imprint on my baby? Have you lost you mind?" I thundered as I threw him down the front stairs.

"Alright, pay up," Emmett snicker quietly. I knew everyone had followed us, but I couldn't bring myself to care at that moment. I didn't even care that they had wagered against this scenario. I was too furious.

"Edward, stop her," Esme whispered. "She'll be upset if she hurts him."

"No, it's fine," Jake assured.

"See, he said it's fine," Edward laughed. "Just be careful, Bella."

"Amazing isn't she," Edward added in a murmur.

"She hasn't even gone for his throat yet," Carlisle agreed in fascination, then he called, "Bella, please take it easy, I don't want you to hurt yourself."

Despite the urge I felt to lunge at him, I knew I couldn't take this any further, if only for the new addition to our family. But how I wanted to.

"Please let me at least explain," Jake pleaded.

"She's a baby, Jacob," I growled. "And you think you have some moronic wolfy claim on her? She's mine." I pushed him away once more.

"It's not like that, you think Edward would let me live if it was?"

"I'm still debating it," Edward admitted.

"It's not like that, I swear. It's more like the center of gravity changes, Bella. Like when you met Edward. The way you move — you orient yourself around him without even thinking about it. When he moves, even a little bit, you adjust your position at the same time. Like magnets… or gravity, like a… satellite, or something." Despite the anger I felt for Jacob right now, I could understand what he was saying.

It took me a few minutes to calm down enough to think clearly, and while I wasn't happy about it, I knew ultimately there was nothing that I could do about this.

"Alright, you win this one," Emmett grumbled. "Man, I was hoping for something more exciting,"

I still wasn't in a very joking mood. Edward took my lack of laughter as a cue to smack Emmett upside the head for me.

"Thank you," I muttered.

"Anytime, my love," Edward chuckled.

BPOV

Jake and I had once been close, and for me it was easy having him around. Edward and I were soulmates, but Jake and I were more like kindred spirits, it didn't matter how long we had been separated, my friendship with Jake had always been so natural. We understood each other in ways that we didn't even comprehend. He understood me in a way that almost rivaled Edward.

However, it was not as easy of a transition adding Jake to our daily routine with our family. He and Rosalie were always bickering about something, typically about who was hogging all of Renesmee's time. There had been multiple occasions where Edward and I would intervene for the sake of everyone's sanity.

It had been almost a week since Jake had returned to Forks. He hadn't shifted not once, instead he stayed inside with us trying to catch up on everything that had changed.

"So when's the little monster due?" Jake jokingly asked. If I didn't have an in-depth understanding of Jake's humor, I would have been thoroughly offended.

"All we have are guesses, but I was only pregnant with Renesmee for about 2 weeks," I explained.

Jake just nodded and turned his attention back to Renesmee. As of lately Jake had taken to annoying Rose with blonde jokes. I swore that one day not far from now, they would both kill each other, but not before driving us completely mad.

"Hey, do you know what you call a blond with a brain?" Jake asked, and the continued on the same breath, "a golden retriever."

"I've heard that one, too," Rosalie said, no longer smiling.

"I'll keep trying," Jake promised.

One day in particular, Esme had fixed some food for Jake and Renesmee, only for Rose to bring it to him in a doggy bowl.

Silently, he lifted the doggy bowl off the floor. My eyes widened in shock, I shook my head trying to get him to stop, but he waved me off. Then, with a quick, powerful flip of his wrist, he threw it into the back of Rosalie's head so hard that – with an earsplitting bang – it smashed flat before it ricocheted across the room and snapped the round top piece off the thick newel post at the foot of the stairs.

"What's so funny?" Renesmee mumbled, half awake from the nap she was taking in my lap.

"I got food in her hair," Jake told her, chortling again.

"I'm not going to forget this, dog," Rosalie hissed.

"S'not so hard to erase a blond's memory," I countered. "Just blow in her ear."

"Get some new jokes," Rosalie snapped.

"You both woke up Renesmee," I scolded. I knew she was already about to wake up, but these two definitely didn't help.

The next day wasn't any better.

"Ew. Someone put the dog out," Rosalie murmured wrinkling her nose as she walked into the house/

"Have you heard this one, Psycho?" Jake started. He had started some kind of juvenile quest to find a blonde joke that Rosalie hadn't heard of before. I was incredibly grateful when Rosalie didn't say anything. She made her way next to Renesmee, setting her on her lap and began raking her fingers through her long copper curls. "How do a blond's brain cells die?"

She didn't say anything.

"Well?" Jake asked."Do you know the punch line or not?"

She looked pointedly at the TV and ignored him.

"Has she heard it?" He asked Edward.

"No," Edward answered, a slight smirk forming on his face.

"Awesome. So you'll enjoy this, bloodsucker-a blonde's brain cells die alone."

Rosalie just scoffed, and rolled her eyes.

"Okay, how about-," Jake began.

"I think that's enough, you two are starting to annoy Bella, and myself as well," Edward interrupted. I gave him a look of appreciation, they hadn't stopped in days. I was ready to pull my hair out. Now that I thought about it, I wasn't sure that I could actually pull my hair out.

After Rosalie finished braiding her hair, Renesmee made her way back to me. I looked down at my daughter who was now very much awake, and watched her toothy grin form. She raised her hand and showed a memory of me playing her song. This was usually her way of requesting that we play for her.

There where very few times when it was just Edward, Renesmee, and I were in the house alone. Whenever we had company, it was an unspoken rule between Edward and I that he would play for Renesmee instead.

Of course, Edward had seen the request and suppressed a chuckle at my hesitance, he knew I didn't like an audience, this was something I barely shared with him.

"Come on, Ness. I'll play for you," Edward said, starting to pick her up from my lap. It had taken me a minute to warm up to that nickname, but now I loved it.

"No, Momma play," she insisted. Emmett picked up on the exchange and took this as a chance to tease me.

"Come on, Bella. You can't say no to that face, now can you?" Emmett taunted, and I could see the smirk growing on Jake's face. I was thankful that Rose didn't join.

The things I would do for my perfect child were limitless. I took her in my arms and sat her on the bench next to me. The squeals and giggles I received from her when I finished made all the embarrassment worth it.

"You wrote that for Ness?" Rosalie asked.

I nodded, "I did."

"Alright, let's see what else Ness can get Bella to do," Emmett laughed boisterously.

His laugh was contagious, but once the laughter died down, I retorted, "Need I remind you about the outcome of our arm-wrestling, Emmett."

It started another round of laughter.

"Wait until that newborn strength wears off, little sister," Emmett murmured.

"I'd be more than happy step in for her after that, and I'd be wiling to wrestle you instead," Edward offered.

"You cheat, you would be able to beat me without the mind reading and you know it," Emmett grumbled.

"Well, I guess we'll never know," Edward said mischievously.
