Sasuke had a good day. He had met Daisuke alone today as Boruto was off with his father. So instead of doing training, they had done what could be called father son stuff. He had taken Daisuke back to his place. They had spend time in his personal Dojo, he had found the picture of the original team 7 and Sasuke had told him funny stories of some of their genin missions. Daisuke had learnt a little bit about art and philosophy of the Zen garden from Sasuke. He was thrilled that Sasuke had let him rake the sand a bit too. After dropping him off to Naruto's place at the designated time, Sasuke had taken his day off to go buy some groceries.

"Uchiha Sama!" A girl had called out and come running across the street

Sasuke was surprised that a girl would be calling out his name. He then recognised her from the other day as the girl who he gave his umbrella to. The girl had jet Balck hair, but beautiful green eyes, just like Sakura. That's why he had been tempted to give her his umbrella.

"Uchiha Sama, I'm so glad I found you. I made some wagashi to thank you… oh and your umbrella" She said bowing and handing him a beautifully wrapped box and his umbrella

Sasuke loved sweets. He just found it childish to buy them for himself. He was touched at the gesture. He bowed and thanked her and smiled at the box. "This was not necessary… but still…arigato… arigato gozaimasu…"

The girl smiled back and then Sasuke said "I'm going this way…"

"So am I!" The girl chirped and began to walk with him

The fain blush on her cheeks, the way she kept looking at Sasuke with a shy smile. He'd seen all of this before, several times. He knew he had to nip it in the bud.

"Listen… You seem like a very nice girl but I was simply being helpful. I'm sure there is someone out there who will be very grateful for your attentions… So please, there is no need to accompany me " Sasuke said softly and held out the box of sweets to return it

The girl looked a little embarrassed but then smiled at Sasuke bowed and left without the box

Sasuke sighed in relief and thought "Oh well, at least I'll have some wagashi today"

"Oh look at the time!" Sakura said "I need to pick up Daisuke"

Ino gave her a look "Whom are you acting up for? I know how late Diasuke can stay, so just chill and take a day for yourself and enjoy some girl-time okay!"

"No, it's not that, I'm hardly ever home so I want to take Daisuke home early and just spend time with him…" Sakura said "I feel like I'm missing how fast he's growing up…" Sakura quickly put some money down "It was amazing seeing you Ino, we should do this again soon…"

Sakura rushed out and followed the road Sasuke had taken. Sure enough a little way down the road, she saw him coming out of an alley. "Aha! I knew it!" She thought as she rushed up to him

Sasuke had just managed to get rid on one girl when another one pulled him into a corner.

"I don't want Daisuke to go your house at all. Ever again. Don't take him. " Sakura was angry and Sasuke didn't know what he'd done this time or how she could have possibly known that Daisuke was at his house earlier today… "Wow… so this is the power of a mother's intuition" he thought "But hang on a second… If he can go to Naruto's why can't he come to mine? I'm his father! What does she think I'll do to him?!"

"Why?" He asked "Why can't he come over?" Sasuke asked a little peeved

"Because he's a young boy! A young impressionable boy who doesn't need to see this weeks pick for commander Sasuke's bedroom! I want him to respect women, not toy with their feelings like you do!" Sakura angry whispered

Sasuke couldn't not believe what Sakura was implying! "How dare she! I know to keep it in my pants!" But all he managed to say was "Sakura, he's my son too…"

"No!" She said livid "he is not your son! You left, you walked out. He's my son, I raised him, I care for him, I…." Sasuke just watched as Sakura lashed out at him again. He listened as she called him a mere sperm donor, an irresponsible man-whore, a self-absorbed ninja and what not… He just listened as each word from her hurt him worse than anything else in the world. When she was done he said coldly "Fine… You can be the one to tell him that he can't come to my house anymore, and be sure to mention that the reasons are his mother's false assumptions of my character…."

He turned to leave but before he walked away he said "I heard several people in this village pass judgments on me, I never thought the day would come when you would join them…"

It had started to rain again. Sakura just stood there watching his retreating figure as her clothes began to get soaked. "False assumptions my ass" she said angrily before turning and walking away in the opposite direction to pick up her son.

True to his word, Sasuke had not invited the boy home, but he had a suspicion that Sakura had not forbidden it either. Monsoon gave way to autumn, the Sakura tree in Sasuke's garden had shed all its flowers and was barren as can be. He knew Daisuke's birthday was just around the corner. He wondered what he could gift his Son that would make up for missing 5 years worth of birthdays. He had taken to browsing gift shops during his patrols when he met Hinata.

"Uchiha Sama…" She smiled

"Hyuga Sama" Sasuke said bowing respectfully

"It's Uzumaki now…" She said Smiling

"Oh… I thought since…" Sasuke said unsure

"I know, I was supposed to head the clan, but I'm happier just being Naruto's wife… Besides my sister Hanabi is far more suited to the clan politics than I am…" She said off-handedly, then asked "Are you looking for a present for Daisuke?"

"Yes… any suggestions?" Sasuke asked

"I think getting to spend time with you is his greatest gift… even though he doesn't know it, he feels a connection to you in his heart…" Hinata said "However, he's a little boy, and a ninja… so think of something related to that…" She then paid for the items she had bought and bid him goodbye and left

Sasuke left the shop thinking about what Hinata had said. He understood why Naruto loved her, in 5 minutes, Hinata has seen his pain, comforted him and given him a solution to his dilemma. Who knew that the shy soft spoken girl destined to head the Hyuga clan would grow into a mature woman who decided her own destiny. He was happy for his friend and grateful that he could call Hinata a sister. Then suddenly he smiled softly because he knew exactly what he was going to give Daisuke for his birthday.

See you day after!
