"Watch where you're going or you'll walk into the door." The blonde said, laughing a bit. "You've done it before, at least." Bakugo set the groceries down so he could still hold the other's hand while getting the keys out of his pocket to open up the front door of his house. He was excited to spend his afternoon with Kirishima, for it wasn't very often he'd do this.
"huh? oh yeah, probably " Kirishima said with a chuckle, well aware that he wasn't the most observant when it came to his surroundings. The redhead paused for a moment, scooping up the few bags sitting on the steps before the other could say anything, staying hand in hand with the blond while looking up at the others home. The outside looked really nice, like magazine nice. The yard was neatly trimmed, there weren't any fallen tree branches and the bushes were trimmed perfectly. All in all the home looked really nice, much nicer than any of the houses in his neighborhood.
"You idiot-" Bakugo sighed, knowing well he told the other not to pick up anything. The blonde let go of the redhead's hand to hold open the door. "Just put it all on the kitchen counter, it's straight down the hall to the right, 'can't miss it. I'll go get you some clothes for you to change into so you don't have to stay in your uniform all day. You can put your bag on one of the hooks by the door." He closed the door behind him and slid his keys back in his pocket, making sure to safely lock the door before sliding his bag off and placing it on one of the larger hooks/hangers near the doorway. "I'll be right back, don't break anything while I'm gone." he said, shooting Kirishima a look before making his way up the stairs to his room.
The redhead nodded, 100% planning on looking around as soon as he was out of Bakugos sight. As he made his way through the home he looked around curiously, eventually being met with the kitchen. Honestly, Kirishima didn't exactly know what to expect the others' homes to look like. He knew Bakugos parents made good money but he was sorta relieved that he hadn't been led to a manchon. The shark-toothed male placed the shopping bags on the counter, beginning to unpack everything.
Bakugo quickly speed-walked to his room to find clothes for the other. What was he supposed to do about his broken binder? He didn't have an extra because the rest were in the wash, something he thought was really clumsy of himself. Maybe he could just go out in the middle of the night to get another? Bakugo wasn't sure what he'd do so he tried to focus on searching for an outfit for Kirishima.
Kirishima checked that he had gotten out everything that was needed, organizing everything and placing his bag on the floor for now. Once finished, he slowly wandered around both the kitchen and the nearby living room to look around, careful not to go too far from the kitchen area just in case he got lost. The home was sensibly decorated, modest to put it simple. There was a large window in the living room that welcomed in natural sunlight, said window was hidden behind blinds, most likely so that neighbors couldnt snoop around while the family was gone. Knick knacks and memorabilia sensibly filled shelves. There was lots of white that filled the rooms but not an overwhelming amount. The home felt both welcoming and modern.
A few moments passed and the blonde came back out with a pair black shorts and a red shirt. He didn't notice that it basically matched the redhead's hero costume until he handed the outfit to the other. "Here. You can go change in the bathroom. Down the hallway, second door on the left." He said, before mumbling, "Thanks for organizing the kitchen, Kiri." He turned around to go right back to his room without another word. "don't do anything stupid."
"okay! thanks for letting me borrow your clothes!" he chirped with a nod. the redhead was internally buzzing from something as simple as being called 'kiri' in place of 'idiot' or 'shitty hair'. He knew that 'shitty hair' had turned into something less of an insult and more of a nickname but it felt totally different when he was called Kiri. it made him feel..well, specal. 'Aah! He called me kiri! Oh my god! It's been forever since he's called me that,, holy gorgonzola! Wait, hold on- Jeez, get a hold of yourself Eijiro, everything is fine, chill. Be calm.' The redhead followed the others instructions, walking down the hallway while humming to himself as he looked around. For a house that looked so modern and magazine-like, the family photos that filled the walls really gave it a storybook feeling. Once Kirishima navigated himself to the bathroom he changed into the shorts and t-shirt given to him by the blond, glad that the clothing fit. He folded up his uniform and checked the cut on his neck. Said cut wasn't deep but seeing yet another mark on his body caused him to sigh in a mixture of frustration and disappointment. He reminded himself that scars meant a story and everyone had them whether they were visible or not. Who wants to be a blank page anyways? It was better to wear his stories with pride instead of covering them up anyways.
When the blonde got back to his room he closed the door just a bit before collapsing on his bed. Goodness, it had been a long day and it wasn't even dusk yet. They hadn't even sat down together to watch the movie but the blonde could feel his heart beating rapidly. Did he really like Kirishima this much? It couldn't be possible, right? He sighed heavily, quickly getting up from his bed to change before he left the other waiting for too long. He grabbed a black shirt and slipped off the old slitted one. 'Guess this shirt should probably be sewn up so that it doesn't look weird' He thought to himself while examining his broken binder in a nearby mirror. Maybe he could get away with wearing a compression bra? though, it's not like that would fix his problem with being uncomfortable.
Kirishima stepped out of the bathroom and looked around, noticing family photos here and there which made him smile, he'd never been able to picture the blond as a kid so it was cute to see him less angry in his younger days, plus it was neat to see the resemblance between him and his parents.
Once back in the kitchen, the redhead slid his clothing into his backpack and carried said bag over to the front door as instructed by his companion. When poking around to look for things he noticed the stove, it looked different then the one he had at home so he knew he probably shouldn't touch it with Bakugo gone. After exploring to his content, he took his phone out of his pocket and scrolled around, beginning to worry about the bakusquad and their classmates noticing the pair's disappearance due to the fact that school would be coming to an end soon. Because his worry got ahead of him, Kirishima followed where he had saw the blond walk off to and looked around, pushing open the door he assumed was the blonds and poking his head in without even knocking "hey bakubro, what do you think we should do if everyone starts asking where we are..-" his words slowed as his eyes fell on the other, realizing he had completely forgotten that Bakugo went to change clothing.
The blonde immediately froze, his heart stopping as soon as he made eye contact with the other. At this point, the binder was completely visible, so he didn't even attempt to cover it up with a lie of some sort. "I- shit" He stuttered, not being able to even spit out a sentence, causing him to just give up. He rushed over to the door, pushing the other's face out so it wouldn't get caught as he slammed it. Even though the two were separated by the door, Bakugo's harsh and heavy breathing was very noticeable. He slammed his fist against the door, with a mix of fright and anger to double-check it was shut. "Just- go away- '' He managed to say, pausing briefly between each word to take a gasp of air. The blonde was shaking at this point, still trying to sort out what just happened. He had worked so hard to keep it a secret, to keep his image up and now everything was falling out of his hands like sand. Why did he have to be such an idiot and miss shutting the door completely?
Kirishima was speechless, He hadnt meant to walk in on Bakugo or invade his personal space. What just happened…? He screwed up big time, that's what happend. It's not like he didn't know what a chest binder was, he knew the ropes of things like that so he wasn't dense but if Bakugo wanted to say that it was something else then he would go along with it. His heart felt heavy with guilt and frustration, knowing that he should have paid more attention and that his absent-mindedness was coming back to bite him. The redhead stood cemented in the ground where he had been pushed, an outstretched hand placed on the door while processing what had just happened in silence. "I'm really sorry for not knocking. I should have knocked and I'm sorry." He apologized, pausing to think and soon coming to the conclusion that it would be better to give the other some space. "I can go make the spaghetti if you're ok with me doing that. It shouldn't take too long" He hated hearing Bakugo upset in any way and the fact that it was his fault felt horrible. Kirishima waited for a moment, hesitating to move, just in case. He counted to 20 before pulling his arm away and stepping back. Sometimes Bakugo needed his space so maybe if he left the other alone it would prevent the situation from getting worse.
The blonde felt sick as he leaned his head against the door, faceing his room. Even though he managed to say at least something before, the guilt of not telling the other about the binder sooner ate his last bit of confidence to speak. The blonde took a few deep breaths, trying to get himself under control so he could speak again. "Kirishima- wait-" He paused, trying to keep his voice from cracking in the middle of his sentence. "You're not- mad.. are you?" He choked out, not really sure if the other was fine about not being told. Sometimes not telling people felt like a lie. It felt like he had this big secret that if he didn't keep it hidden his life would be worse in every way, but if he hid it he felt like a fraud. The door was a barrier between the two and Bakugo didn't know if it would be scarrier to open the door and see Kirishima's face or for him to possibly leave. "I understand if you are," He added, his voice sounding disappointed in himself.
The redhead paused, scurrying back over to the door in seconds "of course I'm not mad, why would I be mad at you? i'm a little confused but i'm far from mad Bakugo" He said, thoroughly meaning what he said and it showed. "no matter what youre the coolest and manliest guy i've met. i've got your back through and through bro" He didn't know what to say exactly but he hoped it helped in some way
Kirishima's words caused a wave of relief to wash over Bakugo. He was overflowing with a mixture of happiness and relief to know the other wasn't mad, even just a bit. The blonde's face, as pale as it could ever be, faded back to a normal color as he started to relax, no longer feeling like he was being crushed by a steamroller. A smile made its way onto the face as he quickly slipped on an old compression bra from his dresser drawer and tugged a new shirt over his head before opening the door to tackle the other into a tight hug. This whole mess sorta put things in perspective for Bakugo, Kirishima had always been there for him through thick and thin. This boy really was something special and he knew he couldn't take the chance of losing what they had, he had to make the next move sooner than later. "God, you're amazing." He sighed, squeezing the other while tears dripped down his face onto the other's shoulder. "What would I do without you?"
Kirishima pulled the other as close as possible, extremely glad that everything was looking like it was going to be okay between the two. "Probably have less heart attacks a day" he joked lightheartedly, continuing to hug the blond before pulling back to wipe the others' tears from his face. "Do you still want to go watch tv and eat pasta?" he asked softly, not wanting the hugging to end even though he was starving.
A crack of a smile appeared on the blonde's face "Of course I do, idiot". He was really in need of and loving the other's comfort at the moment. "Now I'm really happy my parents aren't here." Bakugo said with a chuckle, Embarrassment tingeing his words as his smile grew by the minute. The dry eyed male intertwined their fingers together and tugged Kirishima down the stairs to the kitchen to prepare the pasta.
Kirishima smiled, relieved to see Bakugo happy as they walked to the kitchen. the redhead stuck close to the other, not wanting to separate for one moment. Staying close seemed to be the trend today, one that the redhead couldn't complain about. "When i was getting things out i looked at your stove and its waayyy different from the one my family has'' he commented, filling the comfortable silence as the pair continued to hold hands until the very last moment
"Everyone says the same thing. That old hag doesn't understand how to use it herself." He sighed, tapping the metal frame of the stovetop. The blonde let go of the other so he could reach into one of the upper cabinets and grab a pot on the larger side along with a wooden spoon. "Here, you can fill this up with water, while I prep the other stuff." Bakugo handed the redhead the pot before going grab the ingredients that they hadn't picked up from the store.
"ok!" Kirishima chirped, obliging happily and filling up the pot by turning on the sink. "what movie do you want to watch?" he asked, glancing over at the other
Bakugo grabbed the pasta and opened the box, working as he talked. "How about 'World War Z?' It's a zombie movie." He offered, a smirk appearing on his face. "Unless you're too scared."
Kirishima especially disliked movies about the undead, all the rotting flesh and gruesome shots where they ate people made him feel uneasy but there was no way he was backing down. "No way, I'm not scared.'' An obvious lie. "I've heard of it but I've never seen it," he said with a smile, internally hoping that the movie wasn't too bad. "Want me to start cooking the ground beef?" he asked, putting the pot on the stove and soon figuring out how to turn on the burner
"Good? Yeah, it's good." Bakugo said, a mischievous smile forming. "Sure, just don't burn it." He added, looking back at the redhead to make sure he didn't mess anything up. The blonde put the portioned pasta to the side along with the wooden spoon before getting out a pan for Kirishima.
"As long as you're next to me i think it'll turn out just fine" He said sweetly as he turned on another stove burner and put the pan on it. Kirishima had noticed the others' smiles but he didn't say anything, figuring that the blond had already seen the movie or at least a trailer. He unpacked the meat, plopping the beef onto the pan and taking the wooden spoon that Bakgo had also handed him to cut the beef into little pieces.
"You'll probably still burn it." The blonde teased, working on the pasta sauce by popping open the jar of sauce along with the bag of basil that he had collected when at the store. "Can you hand me the sciss-" He paused, remembering the other had a quirk just like a knife. "Can you cut this open?" Bakugo held out a bottle of red pepper flakes, in which the plastic casing wouldn't come off by hand.
"I'm glad one of us knows how to cook," Kirishima chuckled, turning over to the other. "Sure" the redhead beamed, taking the bottle, happy to help. His first instinct was to use his teeth like he had as a kid, never really growing out of the habit but then quickly remembering that it probably wasn't the most sanitary to do so and therefore he harden the tip of his thumb and cut off the plastic, handing it back to the blond "here you go" Over the years of getting used to his quirk it had become easier and easier to control designated parts of his body with ease.
"Thanks" The blonde took the bottle back and immediately measured a portion of it into the bowl along with some more additives, adding the pasta to the now boiling water.
"No problem" Kirishima said as he stirred beef around with the wooden spoon, stepping to the side when Bakugo reached over to add onion powder and other seasonings to the meat.
"So- what were you asking me earlier? When you came into my room-" Bakugo asked, looking over at the other.
"oh! umm" Kirishima paused for a moment, trying to remember ''I wanted to know what you thought we should do if the class starts texting us to ask where we are. i don't doubt Iida would be one of the first people to notice but school is pretty much over now and i haven't gotten any texts"
"Iida would definitely tell on us unless we made up a good excuse." He said, tasting the sauce to make sure it was done. "It's strange that no one has noticed, though. I mean, I'm not complaining." The blonde stirred the boiling pasta, thinking for a moment before adding, "If they happen to mention anything, just think of something quick."
He nodded in agreement, pushing around the meat as it cooked "there's probably a pop test or a pro hero who showed up..oh! or maybe something new for training" The redhead suggested, glancing over at the blond and smiling to himself before focusing back on trying not to burn anything. "Are you sure I should be the one thinking of reasons why we are gone?" he joked before asking "are there any uncooked noodles left?"
Bakugo couldn't help but smile at the redhead firing off ideas. It was pretty expected of him but he still enjoyed it. "You're right. You'd probably get us caught." He laughed softly, knowing it was actually very true, at least when it came to knowing Kirishima. The blonde nodded his head, beginning to pick up the trash and leftover ingredients. "Yeah, I figured we wouldn't be able to eat a whole box alone. I can cook the rest if you want."
The redhead couldn't help but smile even more from hearing the others laugh, he'd always loved how it sounded. "ah,ok!" he said with a nod before asking "can i have one? an uncooked noodle i mean"
The blonde paused for a second, confused on why the other wanted an uncooked noodle of all things. "I mean- I guess-" Bakugo was still very confused as he handed Kirishima the noodle. "Do you like uncooked noodles or something?"
"mhm! they're fun to chew on" he hummed, popping the uncooked pasta in his mouth as half of it stuck out. "when i was younger i used to sneak into the cupboard to eat them, or that's what my mom told meat least" he said as he went back to stirring around the meat that was pretty much done, stifling a laugh at the thought of his younger self doing something so silly
Bakugo found it funny that the other still enjoyed his childish habits. It was really sweet and he liked that side of him, it made him feel like a kid too in a way. "You're acting like such a kid again." The blonde snickered, really enjoying the other's company. He set the sauce aside so he could work on draining the pasta, turning off the burner as well. "Everythings almost finished. How's the meat going?"
"Hey, I thought you said you liked it when I acted like a kid" he said while nudging the other playfully, the bright smile on his face was clear as day. "I think it's done cooking. All it needs is the sauce" the redhead turned off the burner before taking a step back from the stove so Bakugo could take over, internally proud of himself that he didn't burn anything.'' Want me to get the plates and silverware?"
"That would be helpful." The blond replied, looking back at the other while he poured the noodles into the strainer. He was glad to know the other liked to help, though the blonde didn't have the foggiest idea how to return the favor. Paying more attention to Kirishima than what he was doing himself,Bakugo managed to pour most of the boiling water onto his own hand instead of in the colander. "Damit!" He snarled, trying his best to not drop the noodles into the sink, while holding it all with one hand.
Kirishima immediately put down the plates he was holding and rushed to the blond's side. "Crap, are you ok?" he asked, his voice filled with worry as he took the pot noodles from Bakugo and placed it down in the sink next to the half full colender "how badly are you hurt? Do you want me to get you some ice?" His eyes quickly flicked around the others face, searching for something, anything to give him a clue on how to deal with the situation
The blonde's hand was burning red, almost matching the other's hair while swelling like crazy. "I'll be fine-" He said, wincing at his hand in pain. "Yeah. It's perfectly fine." Bakugo was obviously just acting tough to show off. His hand would probably get worse if he didn't handle it now. "Don't worry about it-" He added quickly, reaching back for the pot to continue sepperateing the noodles from the scorching water.
Kirishima winced at the others injury while grabbing the back of blonds shirt and pulling him away from the sink, not roughly but just enough so he couldn't grab the pot or anything else "You're not fine and it looks like it hurts so i'm absolutely going to worry about it" he stated, grabbing a paper towel and running it under cool water before turning to the other "no more cooking until your hand is wrapped up."
"Whatever..." He sighed, appreciating the other's help but not wanting to accept it. "You don't even know where the first-aid kit is so you can't do anything until you find it." He teased, just being stubborn for the fun of it. The blonde peered at his hand, before quickly looking away. He didn't like the look of any injury, no matter what it was, it grossed him out a lot.
"Well the more you put up a fight the longer it's going to be till we get to eat '' Kirishima countered before reaching out and carefully taking the other's wrist so he could see the damage. The sight of blood and injuries made him ill but the redhead didn't hesitate to help. "you're not supposed to put ice on burns like this so a wet paper towel should help cool it down for now" The redhead said, lightly placing the folded paper towel on Bakugos hand, hoping that it helped with the swelling "i need gauze, some sort of wrap bandage and burn cream so unless you want to eat cold spaghetti for dinner than i would like to know where the first aid kit is" he said, not minding the other teasing him as long as everything ended up ok.
He huffed, and a small smile appeared on his face. "Okay, okay, fine." He sighed and had to admit it did hurt a lot, almost too much to handle. He pointed to one of the small, lower cabinets. "Unless that old hag moved it, it's in there." The blonde's hand was shaking, he was trying his best to act like it didn't hurt.
Kirishima reflected a smile before going to retrive the kit, pulling out the box in no time and setting it on the counter so he could rummage through it. "You know you can say if your hand hurts, right?" He mentioned, pulling what he needed out of the container and tearing open a packet of burn cream. "if I got burnt as bad as you I'd probably be crying" the redhead said honestly, walking back over to the other "its ok to not be tough all the time. i'm never going to judge you so there's not much use in suffering quietly" he said softly, taking the others hand and trying his best to touch the sensitive areas as little as possible as he applied the cream to it.
The blonde stayed silent for a moment, knowing the other had a fair point. "But heroes are supposed to be tough and not show off their weaknesses, shouldn't they?" He asked, before adding, "That's how my parents raised me. 'Heroes shouldn't cry','Heroes aren't supposed to be weak' " Bakugo tried to relax his hand, not wanting to move it too much and possibly cause it to hurt more.
"Heros can be whoever they want. As far as I know there isn't a strict definition of what a hero is, just an idea that's different depending on the person. No matter their quirk, Heroes are human and without emotions like sadness, frustration and pain we'd just be robots" Kirishima said as he carefully placed the gauze on the others hand, picking up the wrap bandage next "tell me if i wrap it to tight" Kirishima added as he began wrapping Bakugos hand. "it's always ok to cry and express your feelings, especially if you're hurt because those feelings are the worst to keep in"
He smiled inwardly, knowing the other was right and he shouldn't have let all the negative things in his head take over. The blonde nodded slowly. "You're right, I don't know what got to me." He admitted, watching the redhead as he wrapped his hand. "You're the real reason I'll work hard to become a hero." He looked back at the other. "Without you, I'd be a mess." The blonde didn't mind opening up every once in a while, especially to Kirishima. The other had always been so understanding, and compassionate when he did.
A warm smile appeared on Kirishima's face, the words meant a lot, even more so because of knowing that the blond had difficulty when it came to talking about things like this. He reached up and cupped Bakugos cheek once he had finished wrapping his hand, brushing a peice of hair away from the blond's eyes as he spoke "I'm really glad we met. You push me to be stronger and tougher, you never back down from a battle and that's really manly so it makes me want to give every challenge my all too." he admitted before adding "without you i probably wouldn't have been able to develop my unbreakable move or manage to pass math class" he said with a chuckle
Bakugo took his unburned hand and placed it on top of Kirishima's. "No doubt you'd be failing." He laughed softly, smiling at the other as neither of them said a thing, their connected gauze lingering as if they both knew the. The blond wasn't sure whether to say it or not. Was it too soon? Surely it wasn't, they'd known each other for a long time but the question was whether the redhead felt the same. 'Just go for it- Don't be a scared baby, Katsuki-' He took a deep breath, trying to relax. "Listen, I know we've been friends for a while and hang out alot but- well I just," Rip off the bandage, just do it " I can't stop thinking about you, no matter how much I've told myself not to."He paused, making eye contact with the other once again. " I really really like you Eijiro. Hell, i love you even"
Pink dusted on Kirishima's face as his stomach filled with butterflies. Was 'love' it? Was that what he had been feeling all this time when spending time with Bakugo? Love was something that the girls in class sometimes talked about. it was what those cheesy hallmark movies were about. The ones where the hard working business lady goes back to the small town where she grew up in but then meet-cutes with either her childhood friend or some guy who she thought was rude but instead was just misunderstood and a little emotionally aloof (yes, he's seen a few of these movies with his moms and no, it's not unmanly of him). He didn't exactly know what love truly meant but he knew that there wasn't a better fitting word for how he felt about the blond. "I love you too Katsuki" he quickly pulled the other into a hug, nuzzling his face into the crook of the others neck while smiling so much that it hurt
The blonde squeezed the other tight, taking in the warmth of the familiar contact that suddenly felt so dearly special. He was shocked, yet happy that the other had the same feeling. All this time Bakugo thought his feelings for the other were weird and didn't really understand why he had felt this way for Kirishima for such a long time. Suddenly, everything just felt right. Like the pieces had clicked into place. A smile was brightly plastered to his face. "You're stuck with me now." The blonde said. "Forever."
"I wouldn't have it any other way, '' Kirishima replied without any hesitation. The redhead pulled back after a moment, his arms loosely draped across the others shoulders, still wanting to stay close together, longing to stay in whatever lovey-dovey trance he was in. he cupped the others face with his right hand, caressing circles onto Bakugo cheek, savoring the moment as if this was all a dream that he was going to wake up from in seconds. "I can plate the food while you go put on that movie you mentioned earlier. i already got the plates out so all i need to do is mix the everything together" Kirishima said before adding "we can snuggle on the couch if your ok with it too"
"That's perfect." The blonde replied, booping the redhead on the nose before laying his forehead on the other's, earning yet another smile from the shark toothed male that was reserved for him and him only. "Snuggling sounds great, I'd love that." He said, not wanting to leave the other for however long it'd take to prepare dinner. He felt safer around the redhead and liked the comfort of being with him. Bakugo kissed the other's nose before stepping back to get the movie ready. "Don't take too long, I already miss you." He winked at the redhead, walking away to the living room.
"O-okay!" Kirishima chirped, quickly turning a red from both the wink and the kiss as he mentally face palmed from stuttering. Wasting no time, the redhead got to work, picking up the sauce that the blond had made and mixing it into the ground beef. He poured the rest of the noodles into the colander before back into the original pot, double checking that everything was still hot but not overly hot as he worked.
Bakugo smiled to himself as he picked up the remote. He loved to tease the redhead and flirting made it so much more fun. Even better, the other got flustered pretty easily so the blonde didn't need to do much to be satisfied. He clicked a few buttons on the tv remote before making it to Hulu, searching for the movie. "You sure you'll be able to watch this?" He called out from the living room, wanting to double-check with Kirishima.
"Mhm!" Kirishima hummed, plating the food and placing the dirty dishes into the sink. He grabbed some napkins and forks as well, trying to clean up as quickly as possible. He felt more confident when it came to watching the movie so as long as he stayed by Bakugos side he trusted it would be fine. The redhead gathered everything, carefully picking up the plates along with the napkin wrapped forks and carrying everything over to the living room. "Will your parents be ok with us eating in here?" He asked, holding out the others plate for him to take
The blonde set down the remote on a nearby table, turning to Kirishima. "They're pretty much fine with anything, but wrecking the house is a big no." He said, taking his plate from the redhead. "Thanks for finishing up dinner, Kiri." Bakugo gave the other an appreciative smile before patting the couch cushion next to the one he was sitting on, gesturing for the other to sit down.
"It was no problem" He said while obediently sitting down where the other had patted. The redhead's smile brightened, there it was again, that special pang in his heart from being called Kiri.
"I'll go grab a blanket for the both of us, stay right there." The blonde put his plate down onto the coffee table next to the remote before going to get one of the many blankets stowed away in the nearby hallway closet .
As he waited for Bakugo to retrieve a blanket, Kirishima looked up at the tv to read the description of the movie in the meantime. His legs subconusly bounced as he sat quietly, giddy to say the least.
Moments later the blonde came back with a large, fluffy, grey blanket. He sat down right next to Kirishima, laying the blanket across their laps. "Ready?" He asked, grabbing both his plate and remote. Bakugo noticed the redhead's excitement and thought it was cute to see the other so happy. He loved hanging out with him, and this was a step further than what they'd usually do.
"yep!" Kirishima replied, situating the way he was seated so that he was sitting criss-cross while his plate was balanced on his lap, purposefully scooting closer to the other when he did so. The redhead glanced over at Bakugo with a small smile before his attention soon flicked over to the tv in front of them. He found horror storylines to be interesting, even if gore was something that made up a good percent of the plot.
"Fair warning, there are a few jumpscares so don't drop your food." The blonde teased as he clicked the 'play' button and placed the remote on the couch armrest, smiling to himself. He loved that they got to be so close together.
"i'll try my best not to but if i end up choking on a noodle make sure to bring daisies to my funeral" Kirishima joked, letting out a nervous chuckle before picking up his fork and stirring his food around, his eyes flicking from the screen to down at his plate as he ate like a game of pingpong
As the movie went on Bakugo had finished most of his meal, managing not to get frightened by the realistic zombies on screen. He'd watched this movie more than once but some scenes got him occasionally. The blonde jumped, his fork slipping out of his hand and onto the plate, sounding off a loud clatter. 'Holy Fuck, that zombie- jesus' He huffed, mentally cursing at himself.
For most of the movie, Kirishima had kept to himself, his arms crossed as he dug his dull nails onto the biceps of his arms as a way to brace for whatever jump scare popped up on the screen. At least a quarter of his spaghetti sat cold and untouched due to all the gore upsetting his stomach. The redhead quickly glanced over at the other when he heard the clatter of the fork hitting the plate, letting out a chuckle as a small smile appeared on his face. "I thought you said not to throw any food around" he teased lightly, picking up his own plate and moving it to the nearby coffee table. He took the opportunity to situate himself comfortably, leaning his head on the other's shoulder while covered in the welcomingly warm blanket.
"Yeah, yeah. I know." He sighed, smiling to himself because of the other. His face heated up a bit when the redhead got closer, putting his plate to the side before running his fingers through the other's hair. Kirishima's hair always looked so soft and Bakugo wasn't really sure, but to his surprise, it was. He easily fixated on the redhead, not minding the movie very much anymore. "You're adorable..." The blonde said in a tired tone, almost as if he were nodding off. "I love you.."
Kirishima's smile brightened as he sat contently, he'd always liked it when people played with his hair so his worry and nerves from the movie melted away with ease from the comfort of the others touch. "I love you more," he responded as if it was second nature, wrapping his arms around the blonds waist and cuddling up to him, paying less and less attention to the move.
"Mmmm, no." Bakugo replied groggily. "That isn't possible." The blonde turned the volume down on the movie, mostly to not get jumpy by an unexpected gunshot of such, pulling the other closer and enjoying the moment. Even if he liked his personal space, the crimson-eyed male adored being able to be so close to the other, both being doting over the redhead and being doted over himself was more than his heart could take.
"I disagree," Kirishima said before adding "I love you more than there are stars in the universe" he pulled his attention away from the other for only a second so that he could situate the way he was sitting, earning a familiar hand in his. "you're my favorite to hang out with," he said, sighing happily. If he could, he would have skipped school every day to be able to do things like this.
"Well, yeah- but what about Mina? You hang out with her a lot." He mentioned, sounding a bit jealous, even though the redhead spent a lot more time with him than Mina. The blonde couldn't help but smile, glad to know that he was loved. Even if it couldn't last forever, these moments with the other would be ones to remember.
"Mina can be a lot to handle sometimes, but don't tell her I said that" The redhead said before gasping dramatically "wait- is thee Katsuki Bakugo jealous? I didn't know that was possible" He said, purposefully playing up his awe, finding the others' obvious jealousy to be cute. Him and Mina had gotten closer through the end of middle school but not to the extent that he and Bakugo were at now. She was like a sister to him, someone who he trusted to tell pretty much everything.
"Shut up, am not." He muttered, before adding "Maybe a little- but that's not my point." The blonde's face immediately heated up, pink scattered all over, just like he'd just gotten an overload amount of blush from one of the girl's infamous makeovers.
"Aww, don't be embarrassed. Pink really is your color by the way, you're cute when you blush" Kirishima commented, bumping the other with his shoulder.
"That's not helping." He said, processing what the other had said after a beat, causing his face skyrocketed in color. The blonde mentally facepalmed, imagining himself being less flustered than he actually was. "I'll get you back for this." He huffed, grabbing the blanket and covering himself with it so he couldn't be seen "There. Problem solved"
"Wait, noo, i wanna see your face, cmon Kat" he whined, tugging on the blanket "it's lonely without you, cmooon" The nickname felt natural to use being how he already had one himself.
"Fine, fine." He sighed, enjoying the other being so impatient. Bakugo lifted the blanket off of himself before quickly dropping it over the other, then immediately pushing the other down to tickle him insensitively.
The redheads giggles filled the room in seconds, squirming underneath the other as he tried to wiggle free. "Kat! I can't breathe-" he protested, his words interrupted by another wave of infectious giggles.
"I guess you have to defend yourself then." He said, knowing the redhead probably couldn't fight back in the situation he was in. After a moment the blonde pulled back so that the other could breathe, tugging back the blanket as well so that he wasn't baking like a hot pocket under such fuzzy fabric. "I could've gone a lot longer, y'know." He teased, sending a playful smirk Kirishima's way.
The redhead's chest heaved heavily as he caught his breath, pushing his hair out of his face so that he could see as he laid sprawled out on the couch, trusting that the other wouldn't attack him once again . "i could have suffocated" he pouted, looking up at Bakugo with a playful frown.
"Still worth it, your laugh is priceless. Told you I'd get revenge." He boasted with a grin, sticking his tongue out at the redhead. The blonde let out a happy sounding sigh, his eyes lingering on the others lips before slowly glancing up at Kirishima's bright red eyes. Just like before it was like they both knew what was on their minds, a peaceful silence that spoke a million words.
"Can I kiss you?" The question came out barely above a whisper, almost as if he was afraid of the answer.
Kirishima nodded, a smile blooming as he propped himself up with his elbows. "yeah" he whispered back, matching the ash-blondes tone. His heart was pounding so loud that he was sure the other could hear. He'd never kissed anyone before but he knew that it felt right for Bakugo to be his first. A lot of his friends had already had their first kiss, along with other firsts, but he had never felt the need to rush it.
Bakugo leaned closer, closing the short gap in between them and kissing the other without the tiniest bit of hesitation, going by instinct and keeping it short but sweet. His first kiss had been stolen by a girl in elementary school whose name had been forgotten after time; she had an annoying crush on him, something that ticked him off to no end. This was his and Kirishima's first kiss and it for sure wouldn't be their last. Skipping school really was a great idea.
After the blond pulled back Kirishima beamed a smile of pure and unwavering happiness. Who knew that liking someone could be so incredible? He had no clue what to even say so the only thing that came to his 'fuzzy with love' mind was "wow.."
"Is that a good wow or..?" Bakugo inquired, chuckling as he simply took in the view of being able to see the other so blissfully happy.
"A good wow for sure. A great wow even" Kirishima said, leaning forward to peck the other on the lips, earning a reciprocated kiss that caused the blond to crawl closer.
"Dork"
"Rude," Kirishima replied with feigned annoyance, tugging the other by the cloth of his shirt to signal that he wanted to cuddle.
Bakugo gladly crawled next to the other, placing his hand on the others cheek once situated. The air was peaceful and the only sound that could be heard was the faint noises from the tv that seemed to have been tuned out.
"your eyes are pretty" The redhead commented absentmindedly, enjoying the comfort of the other being so close
"Not as pretty as yours." Bakugo said, before adding, "It even matches your hair, which if I should mention, is fucking adorable by the way" he pressed a kiss onto the top of Kirishimas head, tucking his firetruck red hair behind his ear
"My hair matches artificially" Kirishima mentioned, adoring all the attention he was getting. He had no clue that the other could be so affectionate. Yes they often sat close to each other, tended to use one another as a pillow during long field trips or held hands here and there but this was something that he could have only dreamed of.
"That doesn't make any part of you any less amazing." Bakugo replied with a smile before adding, "I'd know, since you always ask me to help you dye it." He chuckled before glancing in the direction of the Tv, noticing how the end credits were already being shown.
"It's over already?" Kirishima mostly asked himself, lifting his head up to see the tv fill with the names of everyone involved in the film. His attention easily shifted back over to Bakugo, right where it always tended to be. "Is your hand doing any better?"
"Eh, it's a little sore and it still stings a bit but it's better than it was," Bakugo said, flexing his bandaged hand a few times to double check.
"Im glad its doing better" he said simply, reaching out to run his fingers through the others hair, playing with some strands here and there
"Yeah, thanks to you" The blonde replied, making sure not to move too much so the redhead could still play with his hair. "Got any texts from the other extras yet?" He asked, shifting closer to the outher.
"I don't think so? lemme check'' Kirishima patted down his pockets, pulling out his phone seconds later. Opening up the messaging app he saw a notice of 169 texts. Oh no. The group chat had been filled with texts since school had ended, heck even around lunch time there was a good amount of texts and they just kept coming. How could he have been so stupid as to forget that Airplain mode had been on since the start of the day.
"You idiot." He sighed, knowing this was very common for the redhead. "Lemme see." The blonde sat up, snatching the phone from the other to read the missed messages. He scrolled through, and like usual, Iida was monitoring the group chat as it was filled with concern
"What should we do? They've been texting for awhile " The redhead asked, hesitant to even respond. Things wouldnt exactly be getting any better the longer they left everyone on read. It was typical for the blond to leave everyone on read but not him, Kirishima tried his best to respond right away.
"You could tell them you're with me but then they'd want all sorts of details. Just ignore them" He groaned, seeming more exhausted, not wanting to worry about the others himself. "Especially Dunce face and Tape arms. Don't get me started on what they'd want to know." When those extras wanted something they didn't stop till they got it.
"they're probably already making up theories on where we went," The shark-toothed male said, receiving his phone back after Bakugo had finished scrolling. It was interesting to see what everyone was talking about with them gone, from questions about homework to study meetups, everything seemed relatively normal apart from the frenzy of questions asking where they were.
"No doubt that's happening." He replied. The blonde enjoyed staying close to the other. Kirishima was relaxing to be around and it was a relief that this was the outcome from the whole situation rather than the exact opposite scenario that his brain had thought of. Over the span of their friendship he'd made the effort to get closer. He went out of his way to train with the other, figuring out his schedule in the least creepy way possible so that they could work out together and even walk to and from any destination possible while making it seem like a complete coincidence at first. He'd figured out what protein powder the redhead liked the most and picked it up whenever he dropped by the store so that the other was already fully stocked. Hell he even willingly put up with the others' idiocy when teaching him math. "We could play hookie tomorrow, that way those extras won't be able bombard us"
Kirishima already felt bad about causing the class to worry, plus they could've missed something big in the time that they were more he thought about it, the worse he was starting to feel. They were supposed to work hard to become heros while others hadn't even been able to get into UA. They were in the best of the best when it came to schools so wasn't it irresponsible of them to have skipped class? "I don't really think that's the best idea"
The blonde looked at the other, noticing the redhead's guilt. His face could be read like a book and by the look of it, Kirishima didn't seem on board with the suggestion of skipping school tomorrow. "You're right, we probably have a catch up day anyways since the third years are testing," he said, settling back down next to the other.
Kirishima laid down as well, setting his phone to the side so that he could get comfy while buried under both his lover and a very fluffy, grey blanket. "I hope we won't have to do much tomorrow, worksheets and paperwork are boring and practicing writing hero reports are tiring" He sighed, not exactly looking forward to having to do paperwork but knowing that it was the responsible thing to do.
"It's gonna be a pain in the ass to get up" He muffled, wrapping himself closer to Kirishima, not even bothering to lift his head up so the redhead could hear him any better. It was going to be hard to pry himself off of the other in the morning but he knew that he would have to get up whether he wanted to or not. If the shark-toothed male didnt want to skip school then that was fine with him, as long as he was happy. "I love you, Ei. More than anything words can describe." He said, meaning it completely.
"I love you more than I even know how to express" Kirisima said, meaning it with all his heart as he ran his fingers through the other hair. He was glad that there were moments like these where they could simply relax and lay in eachothers arms. "i'll be lucky that i'll ever be able to wake up" Kirishima said, placing a kiss on top of the blonds head "But, if we don't show up then i'm pretty sure the class is going to try to come find us"
The blonde laid there for a moment, looking dead, or maybe he had just fallen asleep. He was really just taking a second to think. "They invented lockable doors for a reason" He said, enjoying the affection as he laid there contently, finding it nice to be like this with the redhead.
Kirishima picked up his phone, snapping a few photos of Bakugo, 100% planning on saving one as his phone wallpaper asap. "i dont think a locked door is going to stop even azawa from hunting us down," he joked, placing his phone on the top of the couch cushions.
"You're probably right-" Bakugo sighed before adding "He also wouldn't be very fond of us skipping class today, at least if he found out." The blonde pointed out, not sounding as concerned as he probably should be. He just figured skipping a few hours of school wouldn't be any harm, I mean it's not like they were doing anything anyway. At minimum, the pair got both lunch and training sessions to spend together but even then others weren't ever far away. It would be nice for them to get some more one on one time together.
As the pairs talking slowed and became sparse and spread out, the boys became more and more drowsy. Simply laying in eachothers arms and responding with monosyllables, exchanging kisses and "i love you"s every so often.
Soon enough, Bakugos arms around the redhead loosened as he fell into a deeper and deeper sleep. Even if it was a bit early to fall asleep he sure was tired.
When Kirishima noticed Bakugo had fallen asleep he tugged the grey blanket on top of them, covering them both in warmth as he nodded off.
