Thank you so much for all the reviews!
For the past month, between Baasan and Sasuke, Daisuke was turning into the perfect prim and proper prince but he was still Sakura's little boy. He still made his mother an origami sakura when he knew she was having a hard day, he still tried to stay up till she got home, he dictated his mother's favourites to the chef and even ensured that her kunais and acupuncture needles were regularly maintained by the manservants who took care of Sasuke's Dojo. He was happy to spend time with his father but he always made time for his mother as well. Sasuke was very proud of his Son's devotion to his mother, he always tried to manage his schedule around Sakura's so that Daisuke didn't have to choose between them. Sakura however was slowly becoming overwhelmed.
One morning before she left for the hospital, Baasan was teaching Sakura about the etiquette of the fan. "So you flick your wrist out to use it to point… remember fluid like water…" As Sakura imitated Baasan her fan went flying and hit Sasuke in the head as he returned from his morning training session with Daisuke. Daisuke chuckled as Sasuke wondered what hit him. Sakura was embarrassed and said "Baasan that's enough for today… I'm really getting late…" She refused to look at Sasuke who was holding the fan out for her with a small smirk playing on his lips. She snatched the fan out of his hands and kneeled in front of her son "Be good today and best of luck on your test…" Sakura said as Daisuke smiled. She gave him a quick peck on his forehead and stood up. That's when she came face to face with Sasuke who was still smirking. "Sasuke Sama…" she said giving him a slight nod which he returned as she left.
Later when Daisuke was getting ready Baasan brought the breakfast for the father and son to the porch by the Sakura tree "It's her day off tomorrow…." She said as she set the food in front of Sasuke who was waiting for his son looking at the tree that was still bare
"Baasan…" Sasuke warned
"I think it will be nice for Daisuke to spend time as a family is all I'm saying…" Baasan continued
Sasuke looked at her and sighed "You never give up do you?"
"Neither should you…" Baasan said and when Sasuke rolled his eyes she pointed out "She actually spoke to you today… For 3 weeks barely a few words and today… Sasuke Sama…"
"You've been teaching her well…" Sasuke said pouring himself some water
"Or maybe she's not as angry as she once was…" Baasan said with a bow as she took her leave.
Sasuke smiled and thought to himself 'Wouldn't that be something'

It was one of those mondays where the hospital was filled with a manic frenzy. Shizune herself was running surgeries with Sakura. A large platoon had retuned from a long mission and they were all worse for wear. By the time Sakura got done with work, she realised she had been standing for almost 17 hours and living of sips of energy drinks. It had been quite a day. She was so tired that she decided to take a short nap before heading home. Little did she know someone was watching her with a lot of interest.

Sasuke was just walking into the village after meeting with the new recruits for the police force at the academy located just outside in the forests. It had been an administrative day. He had been bored to death until he realised he was in charge. He'd decided to change the entire inspection format. He had gotten into the training grounds, picking recruits at random to spar with, tested out new equipment himself and even volunteered for the new ninja technology tools demonstration. He had a fun day and was in a particularly good mood. As he got closer to home, he was looking forward to spending sometime in the Zen garden pretending to rake while secretly watching Sakura put Daisuke to bed, however he was in for a huge disappointment.
As he opened the door, the house seemed silent, almost forlorn and empty like it once had been. He walked straight towards the east wing and found Baasan showing a man out through the side door of the house. Sasuke's heart stopped and temper began to rise. He stormed off towards his room and slammed the door. That night he refused dinner and he couldn't sleep. He only asked for Daisuke and was informed that his son was having a sleepover at Naruto's house. Riddled with jealous rage, Sasuke ended up spending all night in the dojo training till his knuckles bled.

Sakura was a little surprised to be waking up in her own bed the next morning, especially having no memory of having gotten back. She was still in her medic uniform, headband and all. There was a soft knock and the door slid open
"Oh good you're up…" Baasan said smiling at Sakura
"Baasan.. Ohayo… How did I get home?" Sakura asked
"Yuzawa Yashamaru San was kind enough to get you home… He said you had all but collapsed of exhaustion at your desk… I have prepared a meal for you to feel better please eat well…" While Sakura was still processing thing Baasan said "Once you are ready… could you please take some time and tend to Sasuke Sama's hands… he seems to have overtrained again last night…"
Sakura just bowed in response and Baasan left her with the clothes for the day to get ready.
Once she was bathed, dressed and awake, Sakura asked for Sasuke who she found shirtless in the Dojo still smashing and breaking wooden dummies as two men kept replacing them with new ones. The rippling muscles, the sweat, the focussed eyes, the eyes. It was those eyes that spoke volumes what the tongue could not express. She had seen him like this several times, mostly his eyes spoke of anger or sadness but today there was something different in them. Today there was self loathing. The only other time she had seen him hate himself this much was that night. The night where he had woken up with a nightmare and she had kissed him.
Flashback
Sasuke was sweating and twitching in his bed. He was having a nightmare. Sakura held on to him.
"It's okay… it's just a dream…" She whispered
His eyes opened in a flash, Rinnegan in one and the dreaded glowing Mangekyon in the other. Sakura released her regeneration jutsu and held him in place. "Sasuke! Wake up!"
He blinked slowly and his shoulder's relaxed. Sakura let go of him. He sat up.
"Did I…." Hurt you was left implied as he panted…
"No…" She said
He pulled her onto his lap and hugged her. Sakura held him and stroked his hair. She felt his every single muscle clinging to her. He breathed her in and it got harder for her to breath. From that fist night she had been next to him, they had gotten more comfortable touching each other. Holding each other. She pulled back to look into his eyes, he drew her in and waited right next to her face. She tilted her head and kissed him. It was like asking permission for the 100th time to go through the same door, but when he kissed her back she was in bliss. It was like a lifelong dream come true. As they came up for air panting Sakura looked at him for moment as if trying to burn the memory into her mind. Yes this was real. She then leaned in to kiss him again. That night she lost herself to Sakura tree in his backyard had a few flowers blooming and she hoped it signalled the start of something beautiful for her and the man whose name she had whispered and moaned all night long.
End Flashback
She wanted to say something but her breath was caught in her throat. She just stood there and watched as he destroyed everything in that room before realising she was standing there. He was heaving as he looked at her and for some reason so was she. They stood there lost to the world for a moment before he looked away and dismissed his servants.
As he turned away, Sakura broke out of her trance and walked in. "Let me heal you please…" She said softly.
"It's fine…" He said his back still to her
"Sasuke… Please…" She almost whispered gently
This was the first time in years she's called his name… Just his name… no honorific, no malice, just his name like she had the night they had made their perfect son…
"Sakura… Please leave…" Was all he could manage as his heart threatened to beat out of his chest
Sakura walked up where he was standing looking out the window. She placed her right hand over his as it began to glow green. Sasuke didn't flinch, he didn't look at her. She barely even breathed as she healed both his hands and left silently. The throbbing pain in his hands was gone but for some reason his heart was hurting, unbearably so…
See you day after!
