Ash opened his eyes as rays of sunlight pierced through his curtains and onto his face. He looked around. His room was quiet and serene. It was the best night of sleep he had in months. No insomnia, no stress, no nightmares, just bliss. He then noticed a warm weight on his chest. He looked down and saw Serena sleeping peacefully, letting out small puffs of air with every breath. He smiled and lightly stroked her golden hair. Ash got out of bed and did his morning routine. A few minutes later, Serena let out a light yawn and looked around the room. Ash is gone. 'He must be getting ready.' she thought and got out of bed and did her routine as well. "Alright Serena, let's go out, shall we? Wait for me at the car." Serena nods and leaves the door. Ash had this day planned out. Hopefully, it won't go wrong like yesterday. He straightens his trademark gap, loads and readies his trusty pistol and tucks it away in his vest. Finally, Ash headed out.
The two headed over to the cafe to have breakfast with Goh and Chloe. After a few days, Serena became good friends with them. She found herself with much to relate with Chloe, with her never the one to judge others hastily and always willing to listen to what she has to say, and Goh being so much like Ash it's shocking they're not brothers, with Goh being laid back, sociable, and quick to laugh while Ash is more serious, mature, and level headed but both are very much kind and loyal to their friends. Ash and Goh would chat over gang business and sports while Serena and Chloe would just smile at the mens' antics.
After breakfast, Ash prepares for the first fun activity of the day. "Alright, Serena, let's head over to the arcade! I remember when me and my pals would spend a quarter of our paychecks there!" Serena nods excitedly, now that she's much more open to new things. The two enter and immediately Serena is shocked by what she saw. Bright neon lightings, people of various ages mingling about, and dozens of arcade machines. Ash hands Serena a handful of quarters. "Alright, go nuts!" the next few hours can be described as childish fun. (Author's note: this next part is best written in a compilation style, so stick with me here, aight?)
Ash immediately headed for the shooting gallery, pinning every single target with perfect accuracy like a gunslinger of the Unovan West.
Serena went for the dance platform and did excellently, much to her surprise, and attracted quite the vibrant crowd which Ash had to chase away.
Serena then tried the whack-a-mole and got so into it she accidentally hit Ash on the hand, twice.
Ash then headed over to the Test your strength machine, and punched it so hard he left a fist imprint on the punching pad, and let's just say anyone who was looking at Serena immediately decided to look the other way.
Game after game, machine after machine, the experience left Ash with a feeling of nostalgia of the old days, when he was just a carefree teen traveling the world. However, he decided that he wouldn't trade meeting Serena again for anything, as he no longer thought of her as an escort mission, but as a friend (and love interest).
Later, Serena left the arcade after Ash told her to wait outside. A few minutes later, Ash came out with a big grin on his face. He appears to be hiding something. "Ash, what's wrong?"
"Um, nothing." Ash is evidently trying to hide something, his smile grew bigger.
"You're a terrible liar, what's behind your back."
Ash's face starts to blush slightly. "It's um, none of your business."
"Aww, do you not trust me?" Serena gave Ash the most adorable puppy eyes she could.
"Alright, you win." Ash brought out his hand and revealed a blue ribbon. "I got this for you. With all the red and pink you wear, I think a little color contrast is what you need."
Serena is speechless as Ash ties the ribbon around her color and as he steps back, he chuckles. He shows Serena her reflection on his phone screen "So, what do you think?"
Serena is still speechless. She places her hand on the ribbon.
"Do you not like it? If so, I'm sorry" Ash said sadly.
"Ash, I don't like it, I LOVE IT! THANK YOU!" Serena tackles Ash with a hug, almost making him fall on the ground. Both of them blush as Ash returns the hug.
The two of them got into the car, with Serena smiling as brightly as a Sunny Day (lol). "Where are we going next?"
"The carnival is in town, I want us to pay a visit!"
"Sure, I've never been to one before!"
They drove down the road to the outskirts of the city, where a carnival came to view, and faint music could be heard.
Ash parked the car in a lot and he and Serena walked towards the fair, along with many other excited citizens.
"Woah, so many things! What should we try first, Ash?"
"The roller coaster," Ash replied, pointing at the towering construct of rails.
"Alright, everyone strap in!" An employee cried out "and try not to fall out!"
Ash looks as excited as a kid in a candy store while Serena looks like she's having second thoughts.
"Ash, are you sure this is saAAAA!"
The roller coaster took off without warning, climbing hills, doing loops, all the while the occupants screamed in either fear or excitement.
"AAAAHHH! ASH! HELP!"
"Cmon, Serena! Put your hands in the air! It's much more fun! WHOOOOOO!"
A few minutes later, the roller coaster finally came to a stop. Ash stepped off first and helps Serena off. "You okay?"
"Give me a few minutes, I might throw up."
"Take your time."
"Okay, what should we try next?" Serena asks. Ash immediately points to a Tilt a Whirl, though Serena was quick to shoot him down. "Um, no. I almost threw up already."
"Awww."
The pair then headed for numerous tents selling snacks and offering games. Ash immediately buys a cotton candy and gives it to Serena, who curiously takes a bite "Mmm! It's like biting into a cloud! A sweet, sugary one!"
Later, they stumbled upon a game. "Welcome to the shooting gallery! Knock down the target and get a prize!" the owner declared, pointing to a rack of plushies. Serena instantly gravitated towards a Sylveon plush."Ash, can you get me the plush?"
"Sure, why not"
Ash pays the ticket and the host hands Ash a toy gun. The game starts and Ash fires with expert accuracy, but to his confusion, none of the targets went down. 'That's odd, I know for sure I hit those!'
"Time's up! Sorry sir, would you like to try again?"
"Alright then." Ash tries again, and once again he hits the targets but none of them went down. Now he's getting frustrated. 'That damn host is smirking! This is a scam! I'll teach him a lesson.'
"Sorry sir! Looks like your time is up!"
"Hold it!" Ash said, putting a hand up. He went into the tent and examined the game.
"What are you doing? You aren't allowed back here!" the host exclaims, but a glare from Ash shut him up.
Ash went up to a target and pushed on it lightly. It won't budge. He flicked it and pushed harder, still nothing. Ash grins.
"Alright, I'll play again." Ash got to the range, and was offered a toy gun but he turned it down. "But sir, you need a gun to play!"
"Luckily for me, I brought my own." Ash draws his pistol, causing everyone to back away. He took casual aim, and…
BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!
All the targets are destroyed instantly. Everyone around the fair looked in his direction.
"So, about that Sylveon plush." Ash says casually, holstering the pistol. The shocked game host hands Ash the plush before fainting.
"Cmon, Serena! Let's go!"
The two headed off and drove back into the city.
8 hours later, Lumiose City Piers
A beautiful night has descended upon Lumiose City. Up in the sky, the stars were scattered over the night sky like grains of salt on top a black table, the water splashed quietly and rhythmically against the shores, the night covered the horizon in the distance like a veil, a contrast to the brightly lit city. And in the cafe on the piers, sat Ash and Serena enjoying the pleasant sea breeze.
"So what made you decide to bring me here?"
"To see the Ferris Wheel, of course."
"Ferris Wheel? Where?"
Ash points to a glowing, towering, Ferris Wheel slowly spinning around. Serena stared at it in wonder before realizing Ash was walking towards it. "Wait up!"
The two then got into a cart and it slowly raised them to the top, giving them an absolute stunning view of the city. "Wow, Ash, this is so beautiful!"
"Not as beautiful as you, Sere-berry."
"Yea- wait, did you call me a nickname?"
"Wha- I, uh, " Ash sputtered, blushing red, though no one can tell due to the darkness.
Serena then leaned on Ash's shoulder. "You don't need to say it."
"I don't?"
"Come one, Ashy, we both know it. Say it at the same time?"
Ash took a deep breath and looked Serena in the eyes, and she looked back. He nods slightly.
"I love you!" they said in unison.
"Did we really just say that?" Serena asked, flustered.
"I think we just did, and you know what's coming, right?"
"Huh?"
Suddenly, Serena found herself being pulled into a kiss. The first true one of her life.
1 hour later, Ash's apartment
"Ash, you ready?" Serena called out. She's been waiting for Ash to finish showering
"Coming!" Ash stepped out of the bathroom… shirtless. Serena's mouth dropped and her nose dripped a little blood. She couldn't help but admire his body. While Ash isn't Bruno levels of buff, he definitely keeps himself fit, with six packs and fairly large biceps. The scars from years worth of criminal work certainly helps, too. Ash sits down next to Serena, causing her to go from hot to volcanic. 'Resist the urge, Serena! It's not worth it!'
But unfortunately, her body betrayed her. Serena tackled Ash on top of the bed and took off her pajamas, leaving her in her underwear. "Serena, what are you doing?!" Ash exclaimed.
"I want you to make me mine!" she cried out, and kissed Ash. Ash slowly kissed back, their tongues-
AND THAT'S IT FOR NOW! I'm sorry but I won't be writing lemons, especially after last time. If you want lemons, sorry, but I want to keep this story off mature! So let's imagine of them had an amazing lovemaking session, let's skip ahead!
"Huff, huff, that was amazing, Ash!" Serena said, lying on Ash's chest.
"Yeah, I don't want this to end." Ash replied, stroking her hair. "But I'm dead tired, let's go to sleep, yeah?"
"Alright, I love you Ashy."
"And I love you, Sere Berry."

And the room went dark.
