The Icon of Sin was ravaging the Earth by its mere presence. Any living being could feel the disturbance in the air.
But one of them, despite being brought here by some strange method, saw that disturbance as an obstacle to eliminate.
And despite having the grace of an elephant falling down the stairs, the titan headed its way towards the disturbance without trouble or being detected as much as expected since all eyes were fixated at the other titan clash.
The Doom Slayer dodged another barrage of flaming balls from a Mancubus as he shot with his Ballista on the Icon of Sin's armored head. After a few red sparks, the armor exploded and the titanic demon roared in rage. All eight parts of the upper armor were gone, leaving its body defenseless.
The wave of demons disappeared in flames as the titanesque demon calmed down.
The demon huffed at the Slayer with a glare and turned around, disappearing in the dark fog of the ruined city.
"Quickly, with its armor destroyed the body is now exposed." Samuel Hayden exclaimed through the helmet's speaker phones.
A giant green portal appeared in front of the man in green armor.
"Take the portal and finish this fight." ordered Hayden.
The Doom Slayer wasn't fond of how Hayden still thought he could order him around but there was no point to fight about it, like the robot man said: he had another one to finish.
The Hellwalker cracked his neck, then his fists then jumped through the portal.
He emerged on some sort of construction site on the rooftop of another building, the giant demon was nowhere to be seen. Until it ran from the fog, enraged eyes fixed on the Slayer, right arm raised high in a fist.
Oh? An overhead slam? That could kill the Slayer… He can take it.
"Slayer! Something big is coming!" Hayden suddenly shouted.
Well obviously, the Icon of Sin was right in front of h-
Then suddenly, out of nowhere, a large line of blue flames crashed on the side of the demon's face, the surprise stumbling down the giant on its side.
All heads turned to see the source of the blue flames and what they saw blew their minds.
"That's impossible!" Hayden exclaimed, "There is no lifeforms like that on Earth! I can assure you! So how on Earth is that monster here?!"
That wasn't any monster…
That's fucking Godzilla.
SKREEEEOOONGKK!
Godzilla roared at the face of the other titan as it was standing back up. The monster cracked its neck in a growl, spat some blood to the ground before approaching the King of Monster.
The two giants stood in front of each other, the Icon of Sin a bit taller than Godzilla, they stared each other down, growling in defiance.
Then, with a roar, Godzilla's dorsal spine quickly started to glow a blue hue as flames of the same color emerged from his mouth, aimed in a straight thick fiery line towards the demon's face.
The Icon turned its head to avoid heavy damage from the flames and counterattacked with a punch to the Lizard's face.
This first exchange of blows echoed throughout the city as now every single living being, human or demon, was staring at the spectacle.
The two opponents glared at each other, glowing blue eyes stared daggers to yellow goat ones before the Leviathan threw himself on the giant demon, claws ready for ripping the monster's flesh.
This was a show down to remember.
The Doom Slayer in particular was pretty impressed with the scenery in front of him, he had a front row seat for this fight.
He wished he had pop corn right now.
"Slayer, I hope you realize how bad the situation is right now." Hayden said, "The Icon of Sin is growing stronger every minute. Assist Godzilla in the fight to finish the demon as soon as possible."
Right, the whole 'the longer the Icon of Sin is on Earth thing.'
The Doom Slayer grabbed his ballista, a quick and precise weapon, and aimed at the demon's left shoulder then pulled the trigger.
The energy arrow pierced the flesh of the demon in a firework of flames and gore, distracting the demon while it was spewing hell flames from its hands towards the giant lizard that was keeping its distance from the flames.
The moment the Icon looked away from its opponent, the King of Monsters immediately retaliated with a spin and powerful slam of his tail on the demon, sending it crashing against a building, the one where the Doom Slayer was. And the powered up human was waiting for the titan with his BFG in hand, charged and aimed at the monster's chest.
The ball of green plasma exploded on the monster's chest, ripping appart some flesh.
The Icon of Sin roared in pain and anger, yellow eyes glared and glowed at the Slayer and with a movement of its hand, large summoning flames appeared all around the Slayer's position.
And from those flames emerged Barons of Hell, Cyber Mancubuses, Tyrants and all the likes of powerful demons with one goal in mind: Ripping the Slayer to shreds.
That should keep the Slayer distracted long enough for the Icon to take care of the other thorn at its side.
Godzilla was ready to bite the neck of the demon while it had its back turned. Unfortunately for the kaiju, the demon was smart enough not to show its back to the enemy without planning something, as a rain of blazing meteorites suddenly fell from the stormy clouds directly towards the leviathan who had no choice but to retreat and shield his face from the flaming falling rocks.
And during that defensive maneuver, the Icon of Sin had its focus back on the King of Monsters and charged with a raised fist, aimed to crush the kaiju's skull.
But Godzilla saw the hit coming just in time to dodge what could have been a critical hit, instead, the demon hit his right shoulder. The loud crack was a clear indication of a broken bone, and to that, the radioactive lizard answered with a ferocious bite to the demon's arm.
Suddenly, the Icon of Sin did something that the leviathan couldn't have expected: it pulled back its arm away from the lizard's fangs, tearing its own flesh apart from the bone with one big pull.
Godzilla's eyes widened at the action and spat out immediately the bloody flesh in his mouth, followed by gagging and throwing up the demon's blood that had flowed down his throat. There was something unnatural and disgusting about the demon's blood that kicked his instincts to not let any drop get further down his body.
The Icon of Sin used this distraction to focus energy around its forehead and released it in a massive ray that hit the King of Monster square on his chest.
Godzilla roared in pain as he stumbled a bit backwards but resisted the assault and counterattacked with his own 'energy ray'. The blue atomic flames hit the demon hard enough for it to stop its attack and crash into a nearby building.
The lizard kaiju let out a smug puff as he slammed his tail to the ground while the demon glared daggers at him with a growl.
The Icon of Sin stood back up and charged at its opponent, only to get slapped by the lizard's tail.
Was the Slayer imagining things or was Godzilla totally kicking the Icon of Sin's ass?!
He was almost done with his wave of demons as he cut the Tyrant's head with his blade. Once all demons were dead, he turned his attention to the Kaiju Fight and fired some missiles at the Icon.
The battle went like that for a couple of rounds:
-The Icon would be fighting against Godzilla after summoning demons to distract the Slayer
-After the Slayer was done with the wave, he would attack the Icon of Sin to assist Godzilla
-Return to step one.
The fight seemed to be shifting on the 'not demon' side, the demon in question was losing flesh and blood with every attack from the unexpected duo, anyone would think it was just a matter of time before Godzilla would rip the titan's head off… At least that was until the Icon's hits got more hurtful to the lizard and the latter's attack got less and less effective. Despite it's sorry state, the Icon of Sin was holding its ground and seemed more powerful. To the point of Godzilla's atomic breath could easily be parried by the demon's hands and the Icon's ray of energy sent Godzilla rolling on the ground.
What just happened? The match was in Godzilla's favor just a couple of minutes ago!
"Slayer, this fight has been going for far too long! The Icon of Sin's power now surpasses Godzilla's. You must finish this fight immediately." Hayden explained.
Alright but how? The Icon seems to be now completely focused on killing the kaiju. And the actual demon wave was larger and tougher than usual.
Godzilla tried to stand back up as he coughed some blood, wondering why the monster in front of him was suddenly so powerful.
He couldn't finish to ponder on the question as the Icon of Sin kicked the lizard's snout hard enough to crack it and keep him pinned to the ground.
Godzilla coughed some more blood on the ground before feeling a pull from his tail and his whole body being dragged on.
The titan demon was actually starting to spin on himself while grabbing on the leviathan's tail, at the beginning he had some difficulties as the kaiju was resisting but a stomp to the legs and a kick to the side accompanied with an energy beam to the back was enough to stop any resistance.
The King of Monster leveled and crashed many structures before finally being thrown in front of the building that seemed to attract the attention of his opponent many times before. He could feel some powerful presence on it. But didn't actually pay attention until now when he was close to it.
The Icon of Sin pulled Godzilla on his feet and then summoned more demons to keep the Slayer busy. Then followed with a punch to the kaiju's side of the face. Once the lizard was stunned, the demon wrapped its hands, as much as it could, around Godzilla's throat.
Despite having most of its flesh and muscles ripped apart from most of its body from the fight with the kaiju, the Icon of Sin still seemed to have enough strength to choke Godzilla.
The King of Monster tried to break free by scratching the demon's body with his claws but it had no effect. The demon let out a loud laugh before charging another energy ray straight on Godzilla's face. Thankfully, the kaiju used some of his remaining power to unleash an atomic breath on the titan's head, canceling the charge of the attack.
The Icon growled in anger and headbutted the lizard one time before deciding to finish him off slowly by pressing its thumbs on Godzilla's windpipe.
The demon let out a chuckle as it watched the kaiju's life slowly drain from his eyes.
"Slayer! The Icon-"
He knows already!
But he can't shake off those stupid Barons and Knights! He needed a clear shot to the Icon with something strong enough to shake it. And his last shot of BFG is the best candidate.
The problem was that with the largest demons around him, he barely had an opportunity to aim and shoot the BFG. When he aimed at the titan, the Pain Elemental floating around or a large demon would get in the way to protect the giant demon. And when he decided to be the closest to the Icon, another demon would be behind him, distracting and annoying him from aiming.
He had an idea, but if he fails he'll have to see Godzilla die, and that would actually suck.
He had one shot at this. And not a lot of time to hesitate. So he executed his plan!
He ran towards the largest demon nearby, it was a Baron of Hell.
The large demon roared at what it thought was an attack as it readied its grey fist and wrist flaming blade for a stab. But when the Baron attacked, the Slayer jumped on the extended arm then stomped the demon's face as a stepladder and launched himself in the air towards a confused Tyrant.
The human warrior grabbed his rocket launcher and aimed at the cybernetic demon's face and fired the moment his foot touched its forehead, launching himself a second time, higher, in the air.
Now that he was away from the ground demons, he switched his weapon for his Super Shotgun and aimed at the Pain Elemental that was about to fire a projectile in his direction, but the Doom Slayer was faster. He fired the flaming grappling hook at the one-eyed demon and then pulled himself towards it.
The Pain Elemental had a terrified expression as it expected the Slayer to fire his Lucifer's Bane but once again, the Doom Slayer shattered everyone's expectations by stomping on the demon's eye and propelling himself even higher in the air, away from any demon.
Now that he was free of demons, he switched for the BFG, he heard the raging screams and roars of the demons below, the Icon of Sin was still entirely focused on Godzilla who was still trying to claw the demon's body.
He took aim, hoping it wouldn't injure the kaiju too much as he would definitely get hit by the BFG tendrils… And pulled the trigger.
The green ball of plasma flew through the air towards the Icon's side of the head.
The green tendrils of the ball stretched to latch onto every being that wasn't the Doom Slayer.
In less than five seconds, the deadly projectile will reach its target.
Godzilla was slowly losing consciousness and strength to resist the strangulation from his opponent, he tried to focus his last remaining strength for one last attack but couldn't with the pain and the growling laughter from the titan in front of him.
He was about to faint until he saw the brightly glowing green ball of energy that was coming his way, towards the titan strangling him. The strange object attached itself to Godzilla's with a long and rather painful tendril.
And one second later, it touched the titan in front of him and an explosion resonated through the battlefield.
The giant monster was stunned for a second, releasing its grip around the lizard's neck before roaring towards the building where the strange presence was.
And Godzilla used that opportunity to focus his atomic power all over his body. And in one instant, he straightened his body and with a roar he emitted atomic energy in all directions from every inch of his body in a pulse. The hands of the demon were pushed away by the Nuclear Pulse and the flesh melted until only bones were left, which shattered almost immediately when Godzilla quickly chomped on the right hand then the other one when the demon roared in pain and confusion.
The tables have turned on the giant demon.
The Slayer landed in the middle of a puddle of blood and gore from the majority of the demons affected by the BFG shot. Only two Barons and the Tyrant remained.
The demons were about to roar but got interrupted by the sudden pulse of energy coming from the kaiju beside the building. The Doom Slayer looked up to see the Icon lose its hands by the fury of the King of Monsters.
Nice.
Handless and panicked, the Icon of Sin couldn't defend itself when Godzilla slammed it against the building, the demon's head now accessible. But the kaiju's dorsal spines were starting to glow blue.
"Now's your chance Slayer! Use the crucible to defeat the Icon of Sin before Godzilla tries to finish it! As a special demon, even dead, the black hole can be formed if it's not sealed with the crucible.
On it!
The Doom Slayer took out the crucible and dashed towards the head of the titan demon, ignoring and dodging the roars and projectiles from the remaining demons behind him.
Time to finish this!
Godzilla was about to finish off this oversized goat-human monster with an atomic breath directly to the neck until the strange presence on the building suddenly got heavy, overwhelming and bone chilling.
The sudden… threatening presence… was enough for the King of Monsters to let go of the monster and almost jump back in retreat and get in a defense stance. His eyes darted over the building, looking for the threat and when he found it, worry turned into confusion when he saw a green armored human with a red sword jump on the monster's head and pierce it's exposed brain with the sword. The human jumped back as blue ropes of electricity enveloped the monster who stood back up in a deafening roar before collapsing back onto the building.
Shortly afterwards, the giant monster fell down to the floor, dead.
Godzilla looked at the corpse at his feet for a second before looking back up towards the strange yet overwhelming human who was looking back at the King of Monsters.
The man in green armor raised a hand with a thumbs up at him before turning around, and walked into a red portal that appeared behind him. The portal disappeared with him once he was inside.
All alone, Godzilla looked around. There was no longer any presence that could be a threat to him. He didn't quite understand what happened but he knew one thing:
He won.
So he let out a victory roar as usual.
SKREEEEEEEEEOOOOOOONGKK!
He let out a satisfied puff through his nostrils and was about to leave until he remembered something important.
How will he get back home?
As if on cue, a giant dark purple circular portal appeared before him. He recognized that thing, it was the same that brought him into this dying world in the first place. He didn't hesitate much as he walked inside and disappeared from this world, as if he was never even there…
Not too far from the battlefield, a strange individual was standing atop of a skyscraper threatening to collapse with the weakest of winds.
The strange creature was full of purple hair and had blue skin. Its arms made of pure black matter were crossed over its chest, a wide grin full of razor sharp teeth adorned its face.
"Alright, the experiment is a success. Looks like giant creatures do not get the horrible nausea any other living being gets for days once they go through one of my portals… Might be useful for another time."
With those words said to itself, the creature stretched itself once before jumping down the skyscraper, the momentum of the action was enough for the building to start crumbling down.
"I know I kiiinda altered the timeline in this Universe but hopefully it won't have too much consequences beside confusion." the individual laughed.
The creature known as 'The Demon' opened a portal in its fall and disappeared through it.
