The question made all of the women uncomfortable. Agnes and her sister stared at her fearfully – knowing how close it came to Telma's origin. Lavender, Violet, and Nightshade all looked down at the floor and squirmed nervously. Rose glared down at her – narrowing her eyes with suspicion.
Only Safflina – the woman's one friend and confidant, was brave enough to answer her. "If one wishes to not be with child, she drinks the black potion provided by the midwife or alchemist. If one desires a strong, pure child, she takes the yellow potion instead. Each must be taken before… 'meeting'."
"What… does the yellow potion do?" Ivy asked timidly – causing Rose to frown even harder and fold her arms. "It…" her sister began, but struggled to think of the right words, "It… 'cleanses' the mother – making her pure and fertile - ready to bear for the Goddess." "It also fills you with powerful desire and vigor." Grunted Rose, "… or so I am told." She added after a moment's pause.
Telma could feel the tension rising in the room. Not only were these women afraid of the approaching caravan, and the elder witch, but the box of yellow potions had brought new terror into their lives: The possibility of becoming a mother against their will. The desire to disobey their lord quickly grew, but the horror of what that might bring… caused each of them to shiver in fear. Furthermore, the reminder that Ivy was an unexplained outsider – who seemed to be completely unaware of how and why the Gerudo lived as they did – made each of them wonder if she were not too great of a threat to keep around.
"Why not simply lay with him, without the potion?" she asked. All flinched and Agnes turned a disgusted sneer toward her. "That is forbidden." Answered Safflina quickly, "One or the other, but never without." Ivy wanted to ask more questions – she had never heard of the Hylians using potions or medicines in this way; neither upon themselves or their animals – but the foul looks from her mistress and the other girls withered her resolve. "You heard what she said, they will be here by nightfall." Said Agnes, putting an end to the discussion, "Go rest now, you all have a lot of hard work ahead of you. I will bring the potions to you by sunset."
The sisters drifted apart, some to their rooms, some to the bar, while the two elders spoke in hushed voices to one another. Telma, knowing that her night would be occupied by cooking and preparing drinks, decided to go into the kitchen and prepare everything she would need for that night. Due to the heat of the day, she could not yet light the oven's fire, but she could gather all of the necessary pots, pans, and utensils – arranging them around her workspace as she needed. In truth, she was only doing what was necessary to distract herself and attempt to calm her nerves. Sitting alone in her room would have been unbearable – knowing what was coming.
Opening some of the bundles of food that they had purchased from the merchants, Telma was surprised to find several familiar fruits and vegetables from Hyrule. Crisp, red apples, succulent green pears, vibrantly orange carrots, and even… several bags of dark brown potatoes had been included in the delivery.
Quickly, she realized that these must have been brought back by the new gerudo-operated farms in the east. It was – at first – a nostalgic and comforting thing to hold the familiar foods in her hand again… but… she couldn't help but wonder… who now was tending her father's field? The very ground that had been stained with his blood -right in front of her.
Gradually, a crippling sense of shame came over her. Before, she was a terrified young girl – a victim of kidnapping and the war – but now… now she was 'one of them.' How could she eat these foods – knowing where they had come from?! How could she… let herself be nourished by that monster's conquest?!
Bitter tears formed in her eyes as she quickly dropped the food back into their bags and leaned against the counter. "Blessed Hylia… Forgive me!" she whispered aloud.
That evening
The sun had finally set below the western sky and the bright, silvery stars began to peek out, one-by-one in the heavens above. The night air was usually calm and so the dust and sand which normally obscured the sky was absent. The moon slowly rose up in the east – at its crescent phase – and shone softly down upon the desert below. At a glance, one might believe they were looking at a snow-covered, winter's landscape: the soft white sand below, and the deep blue-black of the sky above.
Lord Ganondorf's guests arrived silently – marching at a gentle pace and giving no shouts or cries to move or to halt. All knew of the delicacy this mission required and the secrecy it naturally demanded.
All of the women – except Telma of course – gathered around the foyer to greet them. Agnes and Audra remained behind the desk, but the beautiful 'comfort vai' of the house eagerly stood beside the doorway – dressed in their softest (and most revealing) clothing. Many of them were still nervous – the potions that Audra had brought to them were still contained in the yellow bottles, but the manager had assured them that "there was nothing to fear." Only Safflina seemed to bob up and down on her feet, eagerly smiling and awaiting the guests.
The troop approached the building quietly – pausing a few paces away as a lone gerudo warrior came in to eye the girls threateningly, before waving to the men to approach, and stepping aside. Each of the hylians were wrapped in hooded, long cloaks – so as to hide their true identities and not draw attention from the gerudo they passed on they way through the valley.
The first man to enter, was quite tall and firmly built. After drawing his hood back, he revealed a bald head – with black-turning-grey hair at the sides - and a well-trimmed beard. Though none of the women knew the sigils of the hylian households – he wore both a shirt and trouser-set of ring mail, covered by the tunic of Akkala beneath his grey cloak. Entering after him, came a young man in similar garb, and bearing the same smooth, black hair and grey eyes – an obvious relation of his.
The girls had been instructed to match themselves against the men's height as best as possible, so Rose stepped forward. With surprising gracefulness, and feminine charm, she softly set her hands upon the man's chest and slid her fingers upward to the cloak-clasp at his neck. "Allow me… my lord." She breathed in a seductive tone. The man's younger companion blushed deeply and stared at the nearly-nude, exotic woman before them, but the elder remained hard and cold. He merely stared into Rose's golden eyes with a… almost hateful sneer.
Undeterred, the great warrioress withdrew his cloak and hung it upon a peg on the wall behind where she had stood. Returning to him, she delicately wrapped her arms around his neck – softly massaging the back of his head – and nearly moaned: "I am Rose… let me be your pleasure tonight… my lord." When he did not respond (except to continue his cold, dark scowl) she pressed her breasts against him and offered her lips to his mouth. He hesitated -for maybe half a breath- but accepted her gift, and briefly kissed her in return.
She led him away to the bar now – by the hand – and the other girls performed similar rituals of greeting for each of the men in turn. Lavender approached the younger Akkalan – who blushed deeply and nearly looked away from her – and Violet and Nightshade greeted the pair of Necludans (again, an elder and a younger). Cruelly, Safflina had been forced to remain until the last, but she shrieked and squealed with joy when the fifth man entered.
"MASTER GRU!" she cried, nearly leaping into the man's arms when he drew back his hood. "T-that's… 'Guru' my dear!" he awkwardly laughed, as her energetic hands were already working their ways under his tunic to claw at his body. "Oh, I never thought I would see you again!" she continued – finally finding those parts she had longed for and vigorously beginning her 'massage.'
He half-laughed, half-coughed in anxiety at her 'energetic greeting' and gently pushed her back. "Later, my dear flower, later!" he muttered, before a slightly smaller, younger version of himself stepped inside. Both were Faronian Hylians, with dark-tanned skin, and curly black hair. Their domain lay to the east – along the coast of the Great Southern Sea – and (as it was now revealed) had maintained some kind of ties with the Gerudo prior to the war.
The junior Guru frowned when no woman stepped forward for himself – his father had promised the most beautiful and skilled women to be waiting here for him, so Safflina was obliged to release "Master Guru" and wrap herself around his eldest son. "I knew my lord was strong, but I never knew how virile he was! Just look at how strong and handsome his progeny is! I think we're going to have a lot of fun together!" she giggled, rubbing herself against him.
After a few seconds of her teasing (and discrete rubbing) the bouncy, energetic Safflina was able to make him smile. But behind her, Audra leaned over to her sister and whispered, "If we don't find a girl for both of them… we're dead!"
