Chapter 7
The next day, Caroline and I get up for school and head out the door. Getting out of the car, we are greeted by Stefan and Matt. I am so glad to see Caroline and Matt hanging out. They make such a cute couple. "Good morning." I say as Stefan hands me my coffee. I could get used to that. "Good morning Beautiful." he tells me and I can't help but smile. He intertwines our fingers and walks us to our first class. Sitting in class, I have Caroline in front of me and Stefan behind me and the class seems to go faster and I am not sitting in class wondering when I can get out of there and go back to my hiding place. It feels good to be happy.
After school, we are sitting at the Grill, just me and Stefan. Caroline and Matt are hanging out somewhere else. "You seem happy." Stefan says. "I am. Before you, I was used to just going to school and basically hiding out from everyone. The only ones that I would really hang out with were Matt and Caroline." I tell him. He takes my hand and asked, "You wanna play some pool?" I smile and we stand and head to the pool table. After the third game and I beat him two of the games, he sits down in one of the chairs next to the pool table and pulls me between his legs. Kissing me softly, he tells me, "You are so beautiful." I start to shy away and he tilts my head to look at him. "Don't hide. I love looking at you." he tells me. "I lean into him and he wraps his arms around me and holds me. Kissing the top of my head, he whispers, "You want to take a ride?" I smile and nod my head yes.
A few minutes later, we are at the boarding house. He walks me into his room and tells me that he wants to show me something. I sit down on the side of the bed and he sits next to me. Showing me a picture, it was of him and Damon when they were younger, right before they turned. "Wow, is this you?" I asked. "Yeah. I was seventeen. Damon was twenty-four." he tells me. "So that makes you?" I asked and he responded "171 years old." I look at him and smile, "I always did like older men." He pulls me into his side and I hear him laughing. Tilting my head up, he kisses me softly. I start deepening the kiss and he lays me back. Pulling back from me he says "We don't have to do anything you don't want to do." I kiss him again and we stay like that for a while. After a while, I tell him, "You have told me your secret, now I have to tell you mine." He looks at me and waits for me to continue. "I'm a virgin." I tell him. "Princess, we will take this at your pace. However you want to do this. I just want you to be happy." He tells me and I snuggle into him. "It doesn't scare you off?" I asked. "Never. I care about you not what I can get from you." he tells me.
That night, he drops me off at home and I walk in at the same time Caroline does. We are sitting in the living room and talking and I asked. "What's going on with you and Matt?" She looks at me and smiles and says "We are dating." I hug her and she asked "What's going on with you and Prince Charming?" I laugh and say, "Things are going great. I went to his house today and we got into a pretty hot makeout session. I told him I am a virgin." She looks at me shocked and says "What did he say?" I smiled and said, "He told me that he would take things at the pace I wanted and that he cared about me and not what he could get from me." She smiles and says "Layne, that's great. But do you see yourself giving him your V-Card?" I think for a minute and say "Yeah. I do. He's so caring and gentle and doesn't push me. He's not like most guys." I tell her and I honestly think he couldn't be more perfect.
