Molly sighed in relief when she finally saw her and Nora's old house come into view as her human was still shaking in fear.
Even though the house was old from no one living in it for two hundred years, it didn't mean that it was in bad shape on the inside since it was clean.
Molly had kept coming back to keep the house clean so she could remember everything from the past by looking at the photos and all the home movies.
Once inside the house, Molly took Nora to her room as it had always been a safe haven of sorts to the young girl who had thankfully calmed down now.
Molly had put Nora down on her bed and was happy to see Nora focusing herself on the room since it was a familiar place for the two of them to be in.
"I'm surprised to see the old place still standing." Nora said as she looked around, Molly chuckled. "Thanks to me, it's still around." Molly replied to her.
Nora smiled gratefully at her big sweet kitty for keeping their old house still standing as she didn't want to lose anything else from her old life back then.
"You okay now?" Molly asked in worry, hearing that question made Nora flop onto her bed. "After seeing Kipo, the memories came back." Nora answered.
Molly could tell that Nora was still scared. "If I may ask, what happened?" Molly asked gently, Nora looked at her kitty before leaning against her and sighed sadly.
Flashback: "I can still remember that day." Nora started, the masked man grabbed Nora by her arm and dragged her out of the room that she'd been in earlier.
"The leader of the group wanted to change the DNA in humans in order to create an army so he could take over the world but needed kids as subjects." Nora said.
Turned out that only kids were compatible with animal DNA so the scientists grabbed over a hundred children then began the testing but sadly most didn't survive.
Nora watched as most of the people in black took the bodies of dead kids away before she was injected with same stuff as they had been as she screamed in pain.
"I was to be the leader of the army since I had passed all the tests and survived the side effects before being placed in a room with another kid." Nora said in fear.
Nora and one of the boys had been ordered to fight but they didn't want to so the masked man forced the pair to fight after shocking them using their shock collars.
The fight however was a fight to the death and the boy wanted Nora to win but she didn't want to hurt the boy since he was younger than her so he took his own life.
"I was in shock at what the boy had done to himself and I got angry at the masked man for making us fight...that's when I snapped." Nora said with a deep shudder.
Feeling the primal instincts from the animal DNA, Nora changed into a mega tiger before she started to destroy the underground lab and freeing all the other kids.
The masked man ordered his scientists to sedate the mega tiger until she changed back then made sure Nora was put into a cryo-sleep chamber as a punishment.
During Nora's rampage, no one had noticed the golden liquid filled with human DNA spill into the ocean before spreading throughout the world causing the mute outbreak.
End of flashback: "So due to the human DNA spilling into the water, that's was caused all us animals to change into what we are now." Molly said in shock, Nora nodded.
Even during her sleep, Nora could still sense everything that had happened but it hadn't been clear as what things had changed until she was woken up many years later.
"I understand that seeing Kipo the way you did must've triggered the memories." Molly guessed, Nora sighed. "Yeah. I'll apologize to her later." Nora promised to Molly softly.
Molly nodded before looking at a photo of her and her family. "Do you remember the song you'd sing to your sister and brother?" Molly asked with a fond smile as Nora nodded.
"I'd like to hear it again, if you don't mind?" Molly asked Nora, she smiled before turning on some music that she knew held the right tune for the requested song for Molly and her.

At the end of the song, Nora saw that Molly was smiling at her. "What? What is it?" Nora asked tilting her head, Molly laughed fondly. "You are fearless when you need to be." Molly answered Nora with a little smirk.
Nora realized why Molly had wanted her to sing that song. "I see what you did there and I love you for it." Nora responded with a giggle, she and Molly chose to spend the rest of the morning at their old house.
Molly showed some of the newer/old home movies to Nora that involved her siblings and friends which made both of them laugh when Tristan got scared by Sabrina during Halloween due to an old clown mask.
"I though Mom had thrown that mask out." Nora said with a laugh, Molly started to calm down. "Your Dad managed to hide it before Sabrina had found it." Molly explained to Nora, she nodded in understanding at that.
Nora and Molly had fun watching their family do funny things since it meant that they had been able to move on all while not forgetting their missing girl which made Nora happy and a little sad that she'd missed out.
A little while later, the afternoon had rolled around so Nora deemed herself ready to talk to Kipo and the others about the past, hearing this made Molly smile with pride at her human so they left the house once more.
Nora and Molly knew that the road to recovery would be hard but both knew that they could count on their friends to help fix the broken heart that Nora has but she hoped to make her new life a bright one this time.
Unfortunately, no one knew that across town, in an underground apartment building, a woman with dark skin and white hair finally escaped from a child-like fungus and she wanted to revenge on all the mutes in town.
