Mortal Kombat: Elemental Realm
AN: Hello there, my dear readers! I hope you didn't wait too long for this chapter. Hope you enjoy!
And I saw the latest Kombat Pack for MK11. It's great to see Rain and Mileena back. And Rambo is quite and addition as well.
Now to reviews.
Abyss Trinity: Thanks!
Guest: I hope it does.
Guest(2): No.
Max the Demon Wolf: I would disagree, but it's not like only Naruto and Sasuke will be the only ones fighting.
And thanks.
bloddymoon: Sorry, but I have no idea what you said.
benedict616z: Yeah, I really hoped that Hotaru would be there.
Guest(3): It's up now.
4 It Has Begun!
The ninjas of the Hidden Leaf Village were currently being escorted by the Seidan guard led by Hotaru and accompanied by Raiden. They just finished meeting at the Emperor of Outworld, and just from a glance, they could tell they don't like him. And when he spoke it didn't help the situation.
"Can you believe the nerve of that guy?!" Kiba asked in frustration. "I mean, who does he thinks he is. 'Think of it as a privilege', 'Now be gone'. He acts like he already won!"
"That's the nature of Shao Kahn," Raiden said. "It may seem arrogant, but he was successful in conquering many realms, and in his eyes, your realm is just another one in line to fall."
"Well, he won't win," Naruto said with narrowed eyes. "All of us will make sure of that."
"Naruto is right," Lee said. "Whatever challenges he has, we will overcome them through will and determination!"
Raiden cracked a smile. They definitely had enthusiasm, he had to give them that. He just hoped that the tournament will proceed smoothly.
Hotaru raised his hand which made all the Seidan guards stop in their tracks simultaneously, also making everyone else stop. The ninjas saw that they were located in a hall with several doors lined up on each side, indicating this is where they would be staying.
Hotaru then turned towards the group and motioned towards the door next to him. "This room is designated for one Kiba Inuzuka," he said after which several guards broke formation and gave an opening to the door.
Kiba was a bit uncertain about what to do considering he wasn't used to the behavior of these guards, but then he walked into the room with Akamaru in tow and closed the door behind him, the guards coming back to their previous station.
Hotaru then motioned towards the door on the other side. "This is the room designated to Hinata Hyuuga."
The guards once again moved, and Hinata walked into her room.
The process took a minute or two, but everyone got to their assigned rooms, with the Kages going in last.
"Never thought tournaments could get this much luxury," Onoki said as he walked into his room. It was lavishly decorated, with a large bed with red sheets pillows and covers, a table seemingly made of some rare wood, wardrobes, and a window. He floated over to the bowl of fruit and saw several he had never seen before.
He grabbed one of the purple ones and took a bite. It may have seemed careless but he knew that trying to do something like poisoning them would be illogical. Besides, he could recognize when something was poisoned.
Onoki had to admit that the fruit was really good, one of the best things he tasted. But then he also remembered what exactly this place was. He was sure that Outworld wasn't the place that fruit this good grew.
The old Kage sighed. "I hope the youngsters win this," he said under his breath. He didn't want the fruit of their own world to be the next to be served here.
Mei was the last one to be assigned to her room, but she stopped just at the door and looked back at Hotaru.
"Why don't you stay with me?" she asked suggestively. "I would feel much safer with you guarding me personally."
Hotaru kept his composure, though several twitches on his face indicated that it was pretty hard to do so. "I apologize, lady Terumi, but my presence is right now needed elsewhere. I have paperwork to finish for this and I can't be late. I hope that you understand."
Mei gave sigh. "Oh, that's very unfortunate. I looked forward to having you by my side," she said in a sad tone, which actually made Hotaru blush a little. Some of the Seidan guards fought of their chuckles, not really used to seeing their commander this uncomfortable. "And I told you to call me Mei. Do you really disrespect me that much?"
Hotaru quickly bowed his head. "I'm very sorry, lady Teru- Excuse me, Mei," he said not catching on that the Mizukage was only teasing him. "I'll be more careful in the future."
She gave him one of her charming smiles. "Better, dear Hotaru. Good night," she said before entering her room.
Hotaru stared at the door for a few seconds before looking back at the guards, seeing their lips twitch into several smiles. "You better stop that or I'm doubling your shifts," he threatened which made every guard go stone-faced again. "Now, watchmen formation!" The guards then separated with two on each door to guard the guests. "You'll be guarding these doors for the next two hours until the next squad comes to take over. Understood?"
"Yes, Chief Commander!" they all said in unison after which Hotaru left to do some proper paperwork, with the guards standing ready to defend the participants and guests with their very lives.
Naruto lay in his bed, hands behind his head as he began thinking of what is to come. So they will fight twelve of Shao Kahn's own fighters of who knows what levels of strength and skill. He wasn't really worried for himself but for his friends. Raiden was adamant that without him and Sasuke, they wouldn't be able to win the fight, and others weren't as powerful as they were.
The young Jinchuuriki gave a sigh. This isn't what he wanted so soon after the Fourth Shinobi World War ended. He was hoping for some rest and relaxation, not a tournament to decide the fate of the world.
He heard someone knock on his door.
"Come in," Naruto said after which Sasuke came in. "Oh, hey, Sasuke. What do you need?"
"Just some talk," he said. The guards at his door wouldn't let him out despite him trying to explain himself, so he ended up putting them in an illusion so he could go and talk to Naruto. Not the most honorable deed, but he wasn't in the mood for games.
Sasuke then pulled up a chair and sat across from Naruto who also sat on his bed. "That man, Shao Kahn," Sasuke said. "Have you felt his power?"
Naruto nodded. "Yeah, I did. And that guy definitely isn't something to scoff at."
"So have I, and the only person of who I think has more power is Raiden, which just shows how dangerous he is," Sasuke explained. "Considering that Raiden wanted us specifically for the tournament, I can guess we'll end up fighting him. And if either of us ends up fighting him one-on-one, then I'm not sure we would be able to beat him."
"You worry too much, Sasuke," Naruto said with a grin. "That guy is arrogant, he won't take us seriously, and then we will find his vulnerable spots. I'm sure we can take him." Naruto then remembered one other thing. "Hey, what about Sakura? Shouldn't we also speak to her about this?"
"No, she doesn't need to get involved," Sasuke said, inwardly worrying for Sakura's safety. "This matter will come to either me or you, no need to worry Sakura about it. In either case, when it comes down to it…"
"No holding back against him," Naruto finished the sentence. "I know that, Sasuke. I'm not that big of a moron." He then grinned. "Did you really come here just to have a little pep talk?"
Sasuke grinned back. "Maybe I did."
Naruto chuckled. "Damn it, Sasuke, I thought we were friends again. Stop with the 'cool guy' attitude."
Sasuke shook his head before turning away. "Have a good night, Naruto. See you tomorrow," he said before walking away.
Naruto gave him a wave. "To you as well."
After Sasuke left, Naruto went back to laying on his bed, his head going through scenarios about what could happen tomorrow. He hoped nothing went wrong.
The next day came sooner than anyone would like, and the ninjas were once again in the coliseum from yesterday, with the non-participants being located in a special spectator booth on the side while the twelve chosen stood in front of them.
Raiden and Hotaru stood with the ninjas, with several Seidan guardsmen positioned around. Raiden himself has been in this position many times, in many tournaments. He knew immediately what will come next as he gazed at the door where Shao Kahn came out.
The Emperor of Outworld himself came to the scene much to the adoration of the crowd and walked in front of his throne.
"Kombatants and spectators, welcome to this special occasion!" he announced with his arms raised. "The Mortal Kombat tournament held in Outworld itself!"
The crow once again erupted into cheers. The tournament is usually held in the realm that was about to be invaded and seeing the one being held in Outworld was quite a treat for them.
"This is it," Cee said. "It's all up to us now."
"Yeah, no pressure," Darui jested as he looked at his friend.
"The participants of the Elemental Realm have gathered!" Shao Kahn said while gesturing to the twelve kombatants.
"I'm surprised he didn't insult us," Kiba commented.
"And now, let us introduce the kombatants on the side of Outworld!" Shao Kahn exclaimed as another door opened, with twelve people walking out.
The first was a man with shoulder-length black hair and goatee, dressed in a red shirt under brown leather garment, brown gloves, pants, and black boots accented in gold.
"The Outworld sorcerer, Shang Tsung!" Shao Kahn announced as the crowd cheered.
Next came a man who had no visible hair on him, with very sharp teeth and no lips, slitted eyes, clawed hands, and several bony protrusions on his arms. He was dressed in a white vest, black pants, and boots.
"The Tarkatan Leader, Baraka!"
The next was a man with short black hair and white eyes that had black pointed tattoos over them. He was dressed in a black sleeveless bodysuit, with a red west, fingerless and spiked gauntlets, and red shin guards.
"Army general, Reiko!"
Some of the ninjas raised an eyebrow at the name considering where they come from it was usually a woman's name. They just chalked it up to different cultures.
The next was a woman with long black hair with a blue mask over her mouth and nose, dressed in a pretty revealing outfit. She wore a blue-colored halter top, a loincloth-like thong, thigh-high boots, and arm gauntlets.
"Princess Kitana!"
Mei fingered her chin. "Well, she certainly has the looks of a princess."
"And a great warrior considering she was chosen for this tournament," Ay said. "But what is she a princess of?"
"She is Shao Kahn's daughter," Raiden said making some of them look shocked.
"I don't see the resemblance," Tenten commented.
Next came a woman that strongly resembled Kitana though with shorter hair and slitted eyes. She also dressed similarly, though it was definitely more revealing than hers considering it showed more skin.
"Princess Mileena!"
Tsunade narrowed her eyes. "I'm surprised that Shao Kahn would let his daughters fight in this," she said
"I think it shows how much confidence he has in them," Onoki said.
Kurotsuchi crossed her arms in annoyed. "For goodness' sake, is this a fight or a strip club?" she asked as she looked at the way the two princesses were dressed.
"Well, it definitely works on having the men distracted," Sakura said as she looked at Kiba, Chojuro, and Darui who were seemingly enamored by the two women.
The next participant was very interesting. He seemed to be some sort of humanoid reptile, with green scales, eyes, and a tail. His face was covered by a mask, and he was dressed in some sort of tribal clothing.
"The Zaterran, Reptile!"
Next was a bald man with completely white skin, red eyes with small black tattoos around them with two long lines across his forehead. He was almost bare-chested with only a spiked shoulder pad, black pants, and green boots.
"The sorcerer of the Netherrealm, Quan Chi!"
The coming behind Quan Chi really gathered the ninjas' attention. The man was incredibly tall and heavily muscled, with black hair held in a ponytail, and the most striking feature being his four arms, with three fingers each. The only article he wore being the belted loincloth.
"The Shokan prince Goro!"
Then the next person to come was surprisingly another man similar to Goro, though his skin was darker and he had a small goatee. His loincloth was accented with red and he wore sandals.
"The Shokan prince Duroc!"
"Whoa. These guys look like they could snap us like twigs," Kiba said.
"No need to worry," Rock Lee reassured him. "Size isn't everything in a fight."
Behind the two Shokan princes came a woman who seemed to be the same species as the two. She wasn't as tall or muscular but still impressive in those areas. Her outfit was also very revealing, with it only being strings of cloth that covered just enough to be somewhat modest. She wore spiked arm and shin guards.
"The Shokan warrior, Sheeva!"
Kurotsuchi sighed in annoyance seeing yet another woman wearing in her mind a really stupid outfit.
The next kombatant was a man dressed in a black bodysuit with a purple vest, shinguards, and armguards, with a purple mask concealing that had his eyes revealed.
"Army general Rain!"
And the last to come out was a man wearing a combination of black and red, with his head covered in black bandages his glowing green eyes, his hands also covered in a similar manner, a golden belt with a green jewel in the middle, and metallic boots.
"And the last kombatant, Ermac!"
The crowd cheered at the sight of their twelve champions, all of whom lined up in front of Shao Kahn and gave a deep bow.
"All the kombatants have gathered!" Shao Kahn exclaimed. "Now, the rules are simple! They will fight one on one, and if the kombatants of the Elemental Realm are successful in getting at least one of their champions through the tournament, they will have to face one more kombatant!" Shao Kahn grinned as he looked at the twelve ninjas. "Me!"
Sasuke and Naruto narrowed their eyes. It's just as they thought. They would have to really try to pass other kombatants if they planned to fight Shao Kahn.
Shao Kahn then sat on his throne as the twelve Outworld champions turned to their challengers. "Now, let the first fight of Mortal Kombat begin!"
The crowd cheered while the ninjas tensed. The time has finally arrived.
"The first combatant will be… Baraka!" Shao Kahn exclaimed as the Tarkatan walked in front of the group. "And his opponent will be… Kiba Inuzuka!"
AN: And that's it for now! This chapter was mostly setting up the next one, but I hope that you are hyped to have Kiba and Baraka fight. I'm sure some of you will be disappointed that I didn't include someone like Scorpion in this, but I really don't see him giving any special contribution
And I implore you to check out my other stories. You won't regret it. And leave a review, they are great motivators.
See you next time!
