Mortal Kombat: Elemental Realm
AN: Hello there, my dear readers! We're finally here, the actual tournament. Get ready for several pure action chapters coming up! Hope you enjoy!
Now to reviews.
Banjo the Fox: Look, I explained already that the Naruto verse doesn't stomp the MK verse.
Akakiru: Well, it's not really that type of story. This is pretty much just a straightforward tournament. I like that pairing as well but I don't think I'll do it.
Abyss Trinity: Thanks.
dlmauricio19: Glad to hear it.
Dragonninja1983: Trust me, there is a reason why I picked Duroc for this.
Carlosxvx: I didn't nerf anyone and I already explained why.
Guest: You'll get more right now.
XenoLucifer: While all these abilities are impressive, Naruto's approach to fighting is a lot more straightforward. And the Truth Seeking Balls won't really come into play considering he doesn't really have them. I mean, after Sasuke destroyed them Naruto never used them again, even in some major battles.
0nnp: Oh boy there is a who lot of nonsense in this.
I'm pretty sure that Shao Kahn did plenty of conquests in over 10 000 years he has been emperor of Outworld.
You say 'let's see feats' but you don't list any actual feats. You just go on assertions. Sean Kittlesen confirmed that anyone with magic in their blood is superhuman. And yeah, Liu Kang is a normal human in context, but that doesn't mean he is only peak human. For example, Sub Zero, also a normal human, has the fatality where he rips out someone's head and spine, which was calculated to be easily over a 100 tons of force. Raiden was able to lift a falling plane easily in Mortal Kombat Battlewave, which should easily be several hundred tons. While Liu Kang isn't as strong as him, he is comparable so his strength is in that range, which means that Shao Kahn is as well. But considering how casual those feats were they are easily far stronger. The outworld army was taken care of by weapons that the ninjas in the Naruto world don't possess, like guns or rockets. The only reason they were defeated was because Liu Kang defeated Shao Kahn in MK3. And not every genin is faster than eye, some that are exceptions, not the rule. And humans like Johhny Cage, Sonya Blade and Jax are superhuman in their feats so that means nothing. I can also point out that a chunin ninja was held back by Nagato's father, who was just a normal human without chakra training. Those Naruto feats don't mean jack. Shang Tsung's power was able to hold his island from crumbling for who knows how long. And this is a casual feat considering that his attention is also on other things, even while fighting other opponents he still holds the island together. And as I pointed out before, Raiden and Shao Kahn shook the planet to the core, Raiden and Shinnok destroyed a civilization and almost destroyed planet Earth. As for speed, Raiden is said to be as fast as lightning. That's lightning in general, not just a lighting strike, which would also mean as fast as lightning's return stroke, which moves at 1/3 the speed of light. And Kotal Kahn in MKX blocked Kano's laser from a point-blank range, showing again lightspeed reactions. THOSE are actual feats. To remind you, people in that range of power scaling from Raiden are: Liu Kang, Shao Kahn, Kotal Kahn, Goro, Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Ermac, Taven, Daegon and some more. So no, Naruto isn't blitzing or outpowering anyone on higher tier as easily as you claim.
From what I've seen you don't seem to know much about Mortal Kombat and skimmed through the material. Cassie beating Shinnok doesn't mean that Shinnok is weak, but that Cassie is strong when she uses the green halo.
The Elder Gods are easily very powerful. Considering they were used for the sustenance of the One Being, a being that makes all of realms in existence which means universes, they could as well be in the universal range so take that as you will. And the crown point isn't relevant, it can be easily explained that it just gives them that big of a power-up but proper magic users are powered up even more.
What makes me think that the MK universe can take on the Naruto universe? Simple, characters that are in the planetary range of power and lightspeed reactions. So yes, it more than makes sense, you just aren't aware of how powerful the MK universe is.
benedict616z: Well, you'll just have to see how the fight plays out. I hope it makes sense
5 Test Your Might!
Kiba swallowed some spit that gathered in his mouth. This was it, the first fight and he was the first to be picked. And his opponent, Baraka, looked pretty vicious.
"Good luck, Kiba," Hinata said.
"Kick this guy's ass!" Naruto proclaimed.
Kiba gave them a grin before he walked over to the middle of the arena where his opponent was waiting, with his faithful ninja dog Akamaru in tow.
"What do you think you're doing?" Shao Kahn suddenly asked as he looked at Kiba.
Kiba stopped, surprised to be called out by the Emperor like this. "Um… what did I do wrong?"
"You were the one who was called to the arena, not your mutt," Shao Kahn said.
Kiba was shocked to hear this, and Akamaru growled at Shao Kahn. "What are you talking about? Akamaru-"
Shao Kahn interrupted Kiba's defense. "Is going back to others, or you're disqualified. As I said, you were called alone, which means that you cannot have help. Your choice."
"Hey, what the hell?!" Naruto yelled out to Shao Kahn. "Inuzuka always fights with his companion! You cannot just separate them!"
With the Outworlders, Shang Tsung let out a laugh. "It would appear we have a hotheaded one among them," he commented.
"That may be," Quan Chi said as she crossed his arms. "But I know you can sense how powerful he is. The boy is going to be a challenge."
"Indeed," Shang Tsung said with a grin. "His soul will be very fun to take."
Shao Kahn pointed at Naruto. "Address me again in that way, and you will also be out of the tournament! I have made my point clear!"
Raiden then turned to Naruto. "Calm down, we cannot have you out of the tournament," he said. "I hate to say this but Shao Kahn has a point, Kiba cannot receive help." He then teleported over to Kiba before grabbing Akamaru by the back of the neck and calling down the lightning, bringing them back to the stands. "Shao Kahn, the fight may resume!"
The Emperor chuckled. "So it may."
Akamaru whined, wanting to be at Kiba's and make sure his friend doesn't get hurt.
Kiba bared his teeth in frustration. This day just couldn't get any worse for him. He turned towards his opponent who stood across him.
"What's the matter?" Baraka asked. "Cannot fight without your pet?"
"Oh, will you shut up?"
The two of them then took their battle stances, with Baraka taking his Tarkatan blades out of his arms, surprising Kiba.
Shao Kahn then gave the sign. "Now… FIGHT!"
Baraka then charged at Kiba, quickly closing the distance between them and swinging his arm blades, making Kiba dodge his attacks, which wasn't easy. The slashes and stabs from Baraka came fast, and Kiba just barely avoided having his heart pierced or leg chopped off.
Putting some distance between them, Kiba reached for a kunai from his pouch, knowing that he needed at least one weapon. Baraka charged again, unleashing a flurry of blade strikes, but Kiba used his kunai to deflect them along with avoiding the attacks.
"Stop running and fight!" Baraka exclaimed as he continued his assault, making Kiba grin.
Baraka made a wide horizontal slash, which Kiba intercepted with his kunai, but let Baraka's blade slide across while Kiba moved to the side. Seeing an opening, Kiba used his own claws to slash at Baraka, with the Tarkatan barely having enough time to react before he was slashed on the side.
Baraka grunted loudly as he moved backward, and saw four red scratch marks on his left side, staining his vest with blood.
"Hm, not bad," Mei commented. "Kiba exploited the flaw in that fighting style pretty well."
"Indeed," Onoki said. "He may not seem like it, but the boy is pretty intelligent, seeing that the man didn't have proper defenses on his sides."
"And the fact he did this without his companion is even more impressive," Ay said.
"Go Kiba!" Ino cheered, with her other friends joining in. Even the crowd cheered at the entertainment of the fight.
Baraka growled at the Inuzuka. "Count your blessings where you can, one lucky shot doesn't mean anything," he said.
"Oh, really?" Kiba said before taking out another kunai. "Then come and get me."
"With pleasure," Baraka said before charging again. This time the assault wasn't all head-on, leaving Baraka with some room to counterattack. Kiba was able to block them with his kunai, even deliver some of his own attacks.
Baraka then brought both blades to the sides of Kiba's head, making Kiba use both to block. The two were then engaged in a blade lock, struggling against each other. Baraka then suddenly retracted his blades back into his arms, making Kiba slightly stumble from the sudden loss of the struggle. Baraka then delivered a swift jab to Kiba's face before uppercutting him in the chin. Baraka then delivered a kick to Kiba's chest which was followed by a spinning kick to his head, throwing the young Inuzuka down and disarming him of one kunai.
Baraka grinned, as much as he could with how his mouth was shaped. His tactic worked, switching from the Tarkatan blade style to the hand-to-hand one to catch the young ninja off guard.
"Now you die!" Baraka said before pulling out his blades again and attacking.
"Like hell!" Kiba then turned around and threw several shurikens at Baraka, who ended stopping for a moment to block them, exactly what Kiba hoped would happen. "FANG OVER FANG!"
Baraka's eyes widened to suddenly see a miniature gray tornado flying at him, before he was hit square in the chest and sent hurtling backward.
The tornado dissipated, leaving a panting Kiba in its place. To him, it felt really weird doing it without Akamaru, but it was good he knew it regardless. He grit his teeth as he saw Baraka get up, the only damage done being a spot on his chest that bled.
Baraka snarled in anger before tearing off the remains of his ruined vest. "An interesting ability," he commented. "But not enough."
"Oh, I have plenty of fight left in me," Kiba said before picking up another kunai.
Baraka then jumped high into the air, Kiba following suit. The two then began their aerial exchange with several slashes and stabs before Kiba was able to deliver a kick that sent Baraka backward, but the Tarkatan then quickly turned around pointed one of his blades at Kiba, and using the other to slash across it, making a blue spark fly at the Inuzuka who was caught off guard by the unexpected move that hit him in the shoulder.
Baraka landed on his feet while Kiba was forced on a knee, holding his bleeding shoulder.
'This is not good,' Kiba thought. 'If this goes on I'll end up losing. I need to be clever with this.'
The rest of the ninjas were worried as well, seeing that the odds were not in favor of the young Inuzuka. Akamaru whined worriedly, resisting the urge to just run over and help him.
"You've fought well, boy," Baraka commented. "But unless you surrender, your life ends here."
Kiba got up with a determined look on his face. "My life isn't what's on the line. Besides… I will never give up."
"Your choice," Baraka said before charging.
Then Kiba threw a smoke pellet on the ground in front of Baraka, making a huge smokescreen surround him. Baraka paused at the move, before out of the smoke came Kiba, ready to pounce on his opponent. Baraka then stabbed one of his blades right through Kiba… which made him disappear in a burst of smoke.
The smoke then cleared as Kiba formed another Fang Over Fang and flew straight at Baraka. But Baraka then moved away from the attack before lifting up one of his blades into the tornado, spilling some blood.
The technique stopped, making Kiba spin in the air for a moment before he dropped on the ground, with his right side bleeding where he was stabbed.
"A very bold move," Baraka said. "It would have worked, but you are apparently unfamiliar with a Tarkatan sense of smell. I knew immediately it wasn't the real you."
"Damn it," Kiba said under his breath as he tried to stop the bleeding. His plan really backfired. He tried to get back up but he lost his balance, his free hand the only thing stopping him from falling.
Baraka then walked over Kiba, seeing the young man struggle before bringing his blades up. "Die."
Then Kiba turned around quickly, throwing another smoke pellet that exploded in Baraka's face. The Tarkatan leader was caught completely off guard as he slowly moved away letting out large coughs, his eyes stinging from the smoke.
Kiba then quickly got up and slammed into Baraka sending him backward while Kiba fell on the ground again.
Baraka, still on his feet, glared at the downed young man. "You're really starting to-" He was interrupted when he heard some sizzling coming from his chest and saw a paper tag that was on fire. The paper tag then explodes making Baraka yell in pain.
Kiba saw his chance and charged at Baraka, hitting him with a flurry of powerful punches and kicks, sometimes even using his claws. This was his last chance and he needed to make it count so he went all out, hitting Baraka with every ounce of strength he had.
After landing several more hits, he then placed one last uppercut that sent Baraka flying backward quite a distance before landing on the floor. The arena was quiet, with many people on the edge as they looked at the kombatants.
Almost a minute has passed Baraka still lay there, unmoving.
Shao Kahn gave a barely audible groan. "Kiba Inuzuka wins!" he proclaimed which got cheers from the crowd, and especially from his friends, making Kiba grin.
Then he almost collapsed but Raiden teleported next to him and held him by the shoulders.
"You did well," Raiden said.
"Thanks."
Raiden then brought his hand over Kiba, with some electricity coming off it. Kiba wondered what the thunder god was doing before his wounds were encased in the electricity and began healing until they were gone.
Raiden then teleported them back to the stands, where Kiba was congratulated by his friends.
"Now, for the next fight!" Shao Kahn said, getting the attention of everyone. "The next kombatants will be… Darui."
The cloud ninja then departed from the other kombatants and walked to the middle of the arena.
"And Reptile!"
The said kombatant went to meet his opponent. Both of them took their fighting stances.
"FIGHT!"
Darui took out his sword and charged at Reptile who avoided a forward slash. Darui was on the offensive, slashing at Reptile with his sword but the Zaterran just kept dodging.
Then Reptile's mask opened, revealing his reptilian mouth that was wide open before they spewed some green sludge that made Darui look in surprise before instinctively using his sword the block it. When the sludge hit the sword it began emitting smoke, which made Darui notice that it was melting.
'Acid,' Darui thought before dropping his sword which began melting into slag.
"Well, that was an interesting ability," Tsunade said.
"It would seem that people here are similar to the bloodline wielders in the Elemental Nations," Onoki said, remembering people like the Kaguya clan who could manipulate their bones and bring blades similar to these Tarkatans, and even some ninja could use acid.
"Except these are completely natural to their species, so they are not chakra based and harder to detect considering how Kiba and Darui were caught off guard," Mei commented.
Omoi turned to his teammates. "You think he can win?"
"He better win," Karui said. "He is considered the next Raikage material. It would be embarrassing to have him lose to lizard-breath."
"That's true, but if the loss of his sword-"
Omoi was interrupted when Karui pulled on his ear. "Oh, no! I'm not suffering your senseless rants now!"
"Will you two please be quiet," Samui said.
"Yeah, sure," Omoi said as he rubbed his ear while Karui crossed her arms with a scoff.
Darui was currently engaged in hand-to-hand with Reptile, and the two seemed evenly matched at first, expertly blocking, parrying, and countering hits. Darui may thrive on sword skills, but he was no slouch in Taijutsu either.
Then in their exchange, Reptile then used his tail to graze Darui on the cheek, making the Cloud ninja flinch with Reptile getting some punches and kicks in before Darui countered the last punch and put some distance between them.
Reptile then charged at Darui, who began to perform hand signs.
"Water Style: Water Wall!" Darui exclaimed as a huge amount of water intercepted Reptile and engulfed him in it. Darui then quickly went through more hand signs. "Lightning Style: Emotion Wave!" Then electricity began appearing from Darui and spread through the water, making Reptile scream in pain.
"Hmm, very interesting," Rain said as he looked at the fight, and seeing that this Darui was able to seemingly manipulate the very same elements he could. "I wish I was chosen as his opponent. I would have very much liked to test myself against him."
"If he wins, you may get your chance yet, Rain," Kitana told him.
"I hope so, princess Kitana."
After the attack ended, Reptile glared at his opponent. He then began charging at Darui again, who once again went through hand signs.
"Lightning Style: Black Panther!"
Black lightning formed in his hand before an actual black panther made of said lightning appeared and charged at Reptile. The Zaterran was surprised to see this but quickly moved away from the attack, using his acrobatic skills to avoid the panther's further attacks.
Once the attack dissipated, Darui went through more hand signs.
"Laser Style: Laser Circus!" he yelled as he brought his hands together. The hands began to glow brightly before several beams shot out of them right at Reptile. The Zaterran moved out of the way of the lasers, but then they began to change direction and moved at Reptile again, who took the attack full force. Reptile dropped down, smoke coming from his body.
Ay couldn't help but grin as he looked at how Darui was handling himself. He knew that the loss of the blade wouldn't put him at a disadvantage. But the fight still wasn't over.
"You gonna give up," Darui taunted at the slowly rising Reptile.
Reptile then glared at his opponent before his mask opened again as he spat more acid. Darui then quickly avoided the acid.
"Sorry, but that won't work again," Darui said before looking back at his opponent but was surprised to see him gone. He looked around for a moment, trying to see if he will appear again.
Then Darui swiftly turned around, his elbow slamming right into Reptile's jaw, making him drop out of the invisible mode.
"You're not the first one to attack me like that," Darui said before attacking Reptile again, landing several kicks and punches before he slammed Reptile on the ground. Darui then made a shadow clone of himself, their hands beginning to emanate black lightning. "Double Black Panther!" they both exclaimed as Reptile was hit with the attack from point-blank, having both panthers slammed into him as he screamed in pain.
Darui's shadow clone disappeared as he looked down at the other kombatant. He then turned to Shao Kahn. "He's not moving anytime soon."
Shao Kahn was silent for a few moments, but then he spoke. "Darui wins!"
Cheers then filled the arena again as Darui walked back to his comrades while Reptile was moved away from the arena by servants.
When Darui arrived at the stands he got cheers from his teammates and allies, with the Raikage smiling proudly.
"Things went well so far," Kakashi said.
"Let us hope they stay that way," Gaara said.
"Now for the next match!" Shao Kahn said. "The first combatant… Cee!"
Cee smirked before looking at Darui. "Looks like I'm going immediately after you."
Darui nodded. "Yeah. Well, good luck to you."
"Trust me, I don't need it," Cee said before taking his place in the arena.
"And his opponent… Reiko!"
Before going to the arena, Reiko turned to Shao Kahn and gave a bow. "I promise, I will not fail, my Kahn," he said before walking to meet his opponent, with Shao Kahn only snorting. So far two of his warriors have failed, and it would bring him great pleasure if Reiko won.
The two got into their battle stances.
"Kombatants… FIGHT!"
Reiko immediately acted by throwing a shuriken at Cee who quickly took a kunai to block it. However, he was surprised to see that Reiko was already upon him, delivering a chop to his hand, making Cee drop his kunai before delivering a mighty punch to the gut, making Cee spit out blood. Reiko then gave an uppercut that sent Cee flying.
Getting his bearings in midair, Cee took a kunai and threw it at Reiko, who instead of dodging or blocking actually caught the weapon before smirking.
Reiko once again went on the offensive, with the kunai in hand.
Cee narrowed his eyes before readying a seal. "Lightning Illusion: Flash Pillar!"
A huge flash of light began emanating from Cee, making Reiko look surprised before he stopped to cover his eyes. Cee then used the opportunity and ran towards Reiko with a new kunai, using the man's temporary blindness to his advantage. He went for a stab right at Reiko's heart, but then Reiko quickly grabbed him by the wrist. Cee was surprised as he saw the Outworlder grinning at him before bringing down Cee's own kunai.
Cee moved but the kunai pierced his shoulder, making him grunt in pain. Reiko then gave Cee a nasty head-butt, stunning him before sending him flying with a kick to the midsection.
Cee quickly got up but began coughing blood. Not good. This man wasn't playing around. But Reiko was again upon him, and Cee was barely able to block his attacks.
The ninjas in the stand were now worried, seeing Cee being dominated by his opponent.
"Come on, Cee," Karui muttered. "You can beat him."
Her teammates hoped so as well.
Cee tried to counter-attack but Reiko's attacks were relentless, barely giving him enough time to respond. And the moment he tried to put some distance between them but Reiko quickly closed that distance very quickly.
After seeing what was the possible opening and went for a punch, but Reiko grabbed his arm before bringing his knee up, loudly bending Cee's elbow the wrong way. Cee screamed in pain but a punch to the face quickly followed.
And Reiko didn't stop, continuously punching Cee, and spilling some blood on the sandy ground of the arena. The ninjas watched in horror, as they saw their ally get pummeled with seemingly no way to defend himself.
After a backhand, Cee went to strike with his good hand, but Reiko grabbed it and snapped his wrist, rendering yet another hand useless. Reiko then pushed Cee away with a mighty shove, which got the Could ninja confused at what the man was planning, but then felt pain in his chest and saw a shuriken sticking out of it. Then one came to his shoulder, another in his left leg.
Reiko threw another shuriken, hitting Cee's other leg, but then took it to the extreme as he began throwing them rapidly, embedding them in different parts of the ninja's body. Cee couldn't defend himself, only being able to take the punishment. Then a shuriken hit him in the throat, making him choke on blood before another shuriken struck him on the forehead.
Cee was rendered unmoving for several seconds, before he dropped on the floor, a pool of blood forming beneath him.
Shao Kahn grinned and put his fist up. "Reiko wins!"
The coliseum erupted into cheers from the crowd as they witnessed the first death in the tournament, while the ninjas weren't in the celebratory mood at seeing their ally killed in such a way.
"He… could have ended it quickly," Sakura said referring to Reiko, who once again went to bow before Shao Kahn while the servants took Cee's body. "But he extended Cee's suffering, to feel as much pain as he could before killing him."
Naruto felt anger the moment he heard that, his fist tightened, his teeth clenched, and his eyes narrowed in anger. "That piece of filth! How could he be so cruel?!"
Raiden could only look at the young jinchuuriki in pity, knowing that while the actions were barbaric, Reiko has done nothing to break the rules.
The servants of Shao Kahn brought Cee's body to stands, with the Cloud ninjas looking sadly at the mutilated body of their friend, and everyone else feeling pity for their loss. Ay had his eyes closed while Darui tried his best to keep his expression neutral.
"His body will be preserved until the end of the tournament," one of the servants said. "That way you can take him after and bury him." Then they took the body away. Nobody protested as they wanted Cee to have the best burial when they finished this.
"And now, for the next challenge!" Shao Kahn exclaimed. "The next kombatant will be… Chojuro! And his opponent… Rain!"
AN: And that's it for now! Ok, I'm sure that some of you are like 'What? Baraka and Reptile lose AGAIN?!' and I get your point, they do deserve some victories considering they didn't get much in the proper story, but some people had to be defeated and I decided on those two. So sorry if you're upset they lost again, but some sacrifices are needed. Still, I hope you enjoyed these three battles. We still have nine more to go.
And please check out my other stories, they'll be worth your time. And leave a review. They are great motivators.
See you next time!
