Batman entered the door which was previously locked. He then headed down the stairs and out the doors, coming into the sub-basement. Like the rest of the rebuilt Gotham Chemical, it was filled with vines come out of the walls but there was a mini-tree on the other side of a large vat of acid and at the top of the tree was Poison Ivy sitting up a perfectly shaped plant throne.

"I know it's not enough but…" Mayor Hill stood at the base of the throne, offering up a case of money.

Only Poison Ivy didn't seem pleased. "You disappointed me, Mayor Hill." She held up a small vial with a bluish liquid inside. "One drop of this could have cured you belly ache for good. But since you insist on trying to cheat me…"

She leaned forward, giving off a dark look as she looked down at the mayor.

Batman had decided he had heard enough. "Ivy."

Poison Ivy looked up, spotting him and smiled. "Batman."

She didn't seem worried he had tracked her down. If anything she had likely anticipated his arrival and had prepared. Three large tentacles sprouted from the giant vat of acid and latched onto the pipes above, pulling what looked like the creature's head. It was a bulbous faced creature with one giant eye and a mouth with sharp teeth.

"Kill him, my darling!" Poison Ivy shouted.

The hideous creature opened its mouth and let loose a stream of acid that Batman quickly dodged.

Poison Ivy laughed as her creature forced Batman to hide. "Look upon my wondrous creation and understand this. Humanity is weak, Batman."

Batman looked up at the pipes the monsters was hanging and realized what kind of pipers they were. Jumping out, the Dark Knight bombarding the left and right tentacles with Batarangs. As soon as it released its grip on the left pipe, Batman kept on firing away at the tubes where it hung on to release steam. The stream from the exploding pipe tore the creature's tentacle from its body.

"NO!" Poison Ivy shouted in horror at her beloved creation's injury.

Batman wasn't done as he did the same to monster's right tentacle, making it let go of the pipe and then threw a batarang that hit the pipe and let loose another blast of steam.

"STOP!" Poison Ivy shouted in fury at what the Dark Knight was doing to her 'baby'.

Now he had disabled both sides, Batman focus his attention on the center tentacle, throwing a Batarang that caused it to lose its grip.

Poison Ivy let out a laugh as it dropped in the vat. "You haven't destroyed my creation, Batman. You've only scratched the bark. You'll never reach the roots. Nature is like a hydra, cut one branch off and an-NO!"

Batman immediately grappled to the other side, taking Ivy's threat seriously that he only made it stronger.

"GET AWAY FROM THERE! DON'T!"

However, he heard her carry a different tune as soon as he got near the breaker and pulled the switch.

"No! What are you doing?! STOP! STOP!"

It was too late.

Electricity sparked and traveled through all the infested and machines, frying planets, cracking monitors and shot out to shatter a light bulb. Just as five tentacles sprouted from the vat of acid to attack the monster was next to feel the surge of Gotham Chemical's power being restored. The monster let out a pained, gurgle shriek as its tentacles thrashed all over the chamber. Batman ran for cover as the monster and the rest of the plants began dying.

And Poison Ivy could only look on in saddened rage. "My babies!"

Her eyes widened as a single tentacle lashed out and hit her, giving her a mild shock that knocked her unconscious as she fell to the ground, the vial containing the antidote slowly rolling out of her hand. The vat of acid containing the monsters finally burst and shattered. There was a moment of silence as electricity continued coursing through the dead plants…

And in all of this, the Dark Knight stood unharmed and victorious.

He landed on the floor below and picked up the vial just as Mayor Hill emerged from his hiding place. "Make sure everyone on Ivy's list gets treated."

He tossed the vial into the mayor's hand and moved to cuff the unconscious Ivy.

Mayor Hill watched as Batman picked Ivy up and turned to leave. "Thank goodness. You've saved us."

Batman didn't acknowledge the mayor's gratitude as he took Ivy back up to the surface. As soon as he was outside he spotted a blimp flying over the wrecked but now working Gotham Chemical sign…
