There was nothing special about his camouflage to be honest. It was merely a bearded version of Bruce Wayne with a scar on the right eye dressed in a classic suit but it would serve its purpose. Funnybones Warehouse, the official headquarters of the Joker was easy to find as it was merely a front of a dummy corporation to hide the Joker's operations. It was no Batcave but it had its own security that made it nearly impossible to break in, not that anyone else was sane enough to break into the Joker's hideout.

Bruce turned and went to the right all the way to the second to the last trailer, avoiding the searchlight, and discovered a clown sculpture covering its eyes with the number one its lower portion. Knowing the Joker he had some sort of lock on the front door and he had spotted a combination lock the last time he had visited Harley Quinn. Rather than leave a key or a piece of paper under the front doormat it was likely the Joker left a combination scattered around the warehouse. Bruce then returned to where he started and moved past the crates.

To the left was a door which he opened and saw another clown statue, this time covering its ears and a number 6 engraved on it. All right, that's the second number. Bruce walked back outside and right beside the room was a trailer and a whole lot of boxes. Jumping over the boxes until he got to the roof Bruce took out his scope and looked around, spotting the last clown bust holding its mouth and a prominent nine on it.

Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil.

Joker was big on making fun of classics and making them his.

Bruce headed for the door with the combination lock beside it to the right. Using the clues he had gathered (eyes 1, ears 6 and mouth 9), he turned the dials appropriately which unlocked the door. Bruce opened the door and peeked inside before proceeding to enter Funnybones Warehouse.

Funny indeed, considering the number of crates that kept him from actually seeing anything inside. They easier to climb compared to the ones outside (pretty stupid, really). Anyways, Bruce proceeded to the right until he reached a dead end. Climbing one of the crates Bruce went to the one next to it leaning on the wall and jumped to reach the one in front.

Proceeding to the box slightly on the left, Bruce jumped to reach the next one and stepped on the light colored crate. He then jumped on the lower box to the left and dropped and reached for that last crate that would lead him out of this labyrinth. He dropped again then, climbed the stairs immediately. Knowing better to go roaming around anymore on the lower floor or he'd just wake up the jacks-in-the-boxes where they'll follow him all the way to the top level Bruce turned to the left and climbed the crates to surprise attack the two goons (one in black, another in white). Even though he left his utility belt and gadgets back in the Bat-Cave Bruce still had some cuffs which he used once both thugs were down.

This was not good.

Harley had told him that Joker's men had mostly scattered, operating on their own. So why would they be here guarding the warehouse, especially if their boss was supposed to be gone?

And where was Harley?

Bruce continued climbing the crates to the left until he got to a ladder. He climbed up and entered door. He had to vanquish another underling roaming along the corridors and advanced to the far end with a smiling clown portrait and turned on the control to open the middle door which was indicated by a green bulb. Knowing there was likely a timer Bruce reached the door and entered, having to put one more lackey on his knees and turned on the switch situated on the far right side of the room.

He left the room and saw the door on the right was now activated. He entered and finished off another worthless foe before pulling the lever he found and went outside. Bruce ran near the end of the hallway and turned on the first control he had seen which was now operational from the green light over. Bruce went back to the last room he entered and used the other door.

He crushed another character in what was the dressing room. He found the dress and makeup Harley used to disguise herself as Mary Flynn. If Harley were to be anywhere she would have been in this room.

How did she slip by Batgirl's surveillance?

And if she wasn't here then where was she?

Bruce opened the cabinet and looked inside. He found and picked up a penknife that was very familiar, as was the signature on it:

TOBY

Bruce's mind flash back to that night on Gotham Bridge…

It all played in rewind right before his eyes.

Slowly his mind rewound, watching as the Joker was falling up instead of down and he zoomed in what the Joker had in his mouth as he let out what was supposed to be his final laugh.

The penknife .

TOBY

Batgirl had been monitoring police activity and radio transmissions when Bruce finally returned.

She turned around, facing him. "Well, what did you find?"

"The only clue I know for sure is that the Joker is not dead and if I don't find him soon." Bruce said, an intense look on his face to show how serious it was. "He's going to be the only person in Gotham who is not."
