When I hear your voice, I know I'm finally free.

"Miko, come out at once," He was already regretting his decision on the matter. Inuyasha's mouth was mostly to blame, which caused Sesshomaru to ban everyone else from coming.

Sango nodded at Kagome. "I feel stupid in all these layers," Kagome lifted her silken sleeve. The silk was thick and heavy.

"You look excellent, Kagome, almost like a princess,"

The light blues and pinks were pretty, as were the patterns. Kagome could tell Sesshomaru spared no expense, or more correctly, his mother, whom he sought aid from, to Kagome's great shock. Meeting her Ladyship was most intimidating indeed.

"Come out, Miko, and do not waste our time, or are you insulting my son's generosity?"

Kagome rolled her eyes; everything was so overthought with these people. She just felt overdressed.

Sango opened the door, and both demon's eyes fell on her.

"Well, will you look at that, the human girl with little modestly cleans up rather nicely," His mother stated as she approved her work.

The dress mostly definitely showed off her tiny waist, and the tightness gave way to the fact that she actually had decent breasts.

"Hn," He approved,

"You are not pleased?" His mother seemed offended,

"I just feel overdressed?" Kagome was not confident in her words.

"One should think so when you gallop across the countryside unmarried looking like nothing more than a common whore,"

Kagome's mouth dropped up, and she was stunned silent then, her eyes moved to Sesshomaru. She wondered, did he think the same of her? Not that it ever matter to her before, but now, she did want his respect.

"Enough, mother, we are well aware of her virginity,"

She knew he meant nothing by it, but her face turned red nonetheless.

"Come, Miko, let us be on our way,"

"Hia," Was all she could think of.

"Are you leaving now?" His other asked.

"Indeed,"

"You think she ready for such an event?"

He really didn't care, and so he turned and began to walk away. Kagome, of course, tripped on her first step, but Sango was there to catch her. His mother gracefully laughed "The great Shikon Miko indeed,"

"Miko," Sesshomaru snapped.

Ignoring his mother, Kagome quickly and carefully caught up with him.

"She's too skinny," His mother said to Sango, who looked at the demoness with uneasy eyes. Sango could not read this woman.

"I look silly, dont I?"

"You look your station,"

"Sesshomaru, even I know Miko's dont have clothes like these,"

"You wish to wear the colors of Kikyo?"

Kagome stopped moving and looked down. Did he actually take that into consideration?

"Thank you,"

Before he could tell her that her thanks were not needed, a laugh broke out. "What the hell are you wearing!"

"Inuyasha," Miroku scolded, "I think she looks very lovely,"

Kagome blushed,

"She looks stupid," Inuyasha ears twitched,

"Says the mouth of the fool," Sesshomaru spoke clearly,

"Oi, why you are dressing her up anyway Sesshomaru, wasn't it you who said not to indulge these humans,"

"While my reason are no concern of yours, my reputation is on the line,"

There was the insult she knew was coming. Two for two or three for three if you included his mothers.

"As well as her own Inuyasha, or do you really care so little about your friend?"

Kagome looked up at him, and he looked down at her. "You are at a marrying age Miko; keep that in mind,"

"Marrying!" Inuyasha said, shocked, "She ain't getting married!"

Sesshoamru wanted to roll his eyes. "Do you think Inuyasha that the Miko wishes to end up an old maid as your lover's sister?"

Kagome sighed; Sesshomaru was very good at both insulting her and complimenting her at the same time.

Miroku snickered behind his sleeve.

"Come Kagome," Sesshomaru turned and began to walk away

Kagome blinked at her name off his lips and quickly followed behind him, ignoring Inuyasha as he called her name.

The noble and the followers waited. They started to bow,

"Enough, let us be on our way," Sesshomaru was over all this.

The leading man in blue bowed and stepped aside to show a carriage "For the Lady Miko,"

Kagome looked up at Sesshomaru, who nodded to her.

"Are you going to ride with me?"

He leaned down. "Men do not ride inside carriages, Miko,"

"Oh right,"

"Besides, these men are useless should we be attacked. I am your only savior,"

"Cant I be my own savior?" She teased,

"With your track record Miko, no." He wasn't teasing. "Come," He offered his hand, and she, with hesitation, took it.

He helped her into the carriage, and she sat down; he could see slight panic. "What Miko,"

"I wasn't prepared for all this,"

"You fear this over Naraku?"

"I was so much younger yesterday," She said without thinking; she quickly gasped at her own loose lips.

"Even I, who is forever young, must grow up Miko, and while it may seem like something that happens over time, it is but a mere moment that enacts the change,"

Her pink lips parted slightly,

"Yet, you are still young Miko; playing dress-up has not changed that fact,"

Insult,

"Though I must agree, you do clean up rather nicely for a human," He slightly smirked and shut the door.

"Sesshomaru,"

"Hn?" He said through the door,

"When did it happen for you?"

"What?"

"The moment?"

Sesshomaru was thoughtful for a moment. "I must think on this, but I will give you an answer,"

"Hai,"

Sesshomaru nodded, and away they went. Inside, Kagome bit on her lips. The more he spoke, the more she wanted to listen, and the less he spoke, the more she wanted him to speak.
