It had been 6 months since the massacre happened, she finally got used with this body and no longer surprised then moment The System or Sasuke talked inside her head. The first week of Academy filled with mind numbingly boring lesson.

She already read most of the materials inside the library on her weekends plus she had other portable cheat in a form of another soul inside her body. Iruka was talking about Konoha history, to be honest the material was filled with propaganda. It wouldn't work against an adult but it certainly worked miracle against bunch of children.

After a few months of observation, she found several interesting facts inside the academy. For example, this class was filled with clan heirs if you compared it with another class from different years. It made you wonder whether their parents decided to have children in the same year or if there was an order, she wouldn't put it past the old man - Hokage.

There's also this blond haired child, rather hyperactive, she felt tired just by watching him. He was excluded by other people - children and adults alike - A pariah. They called him demon, curious, what type of demon? She didn't sense anything from him even though she observed him for months.

Other thing was, the female in this class was rather excitable. She didn't know why they always calling her name everytime she did something. Nine swear that they would even cheer for her even though the only thing she did was breathing. She asked Sasuke about this but he was not forthcoming. Thankfully they never directly talked to her, she didn't know what to do if they do that.

Ring

The bell rang, ending her misery. Iruka wrapped the lesson while she tidied up her bags. One of the female students approached her and asked timidly, "Sasuke-kun will you practice today's lesson this afternoon?" She blanked out for a few seconds. It had only been a few minutes when she said that they didn't talk to her. Ah, what was she supposed to do? Right! She only need to smile a little, there's nothing couldn't be solved by a smile. The books say so.

Nine smiled a little and said, "Yes, what about it?" She heard a loud chatter full of multiple 'Kyaa', her smile dropped a little bit but she still trying to maintain her expression. Why.

"Uhm, can I go with you?" The girl suffled her feet and said softly, she almost missed what she said, other female students also seemed to be very focused to hear what she would say. She thought, no way.

"No." She directly refused and left the classroom briskly. Before she went down the stairs she heard someone shouted her name, "Sasuke bastard!" Oh interesting, the demon child called her. What did he want?

Nine smiled and said, "Yes? Do you need something from me?"

"You, I challenge you!" Ah, what a high-spirited child. She heard other female students protested against this child declaration.

"Challenge? What challenge?" Nine knew that this demon child overall score was bad, what thing he wanted to challenge her with?

'Hah, let's just go. He will pester you if you give him a response.' Sasuke tiredly said inside her head, she didn't know why he was tired since he didn't do anything.

"Let's spar, you won't be that arrogant after I beat you!" Oh, what an admirable goal, she thought. But this was not an interesting thing to do, she had something else to do at the moment.

"No." Nine entirely dropped her smile and strides to the stairs, she heard several loud noises of protests again then the sound was gone the moment she stepped out of academy's gate.

'How long will I need to do this?' She was referring to the academy.

'You need to do five year of study.' Twelve years old, she needed to do this until she was twelve years old. At first she thought five years was not that long but then she changed her mind the moment she heard a boring drivels that spewed out of teachers mouth. Normally she could spend thousand of years doing nothing but sleep. But now, she couldn't even constantly sleep.

'Hey, we need to practice more. You already read most of the books inside Academy section.' Sasuke was right, she already read all of the books inside this section sans the historical one. At that time, Nine was curious about an energy that filled this world so she read all the books about chakra that was available for her inside the library.

'I suppose so, the first step is probably chakra control. Let's do this at home after we eat.' She readily agreed, it was more or less caused by the novelty of a new thing.

'Say, why don't we eat outside once in awhile?' Sasuke tentatively asked her after she cleaned up all of her dirty plates.

'Why? What's wrong with my cooking?' Nine thought that her foods taste just fine. Sasuke was the only one that was a fussy eater, after all they have the same tongue. How could the taste be so different.

'There's nothing wrong but we need to add some varieties, for health reason.' There's nothing wrong with his opinion, only that she thought there's something odd with his tone of speech.

'Alright, as a boss I need to provide my assistant with a healthy meal after all.'

'...' He suddenly didn't feel like going but then he remembered the outrageous taste of Nine's dish, she should have been thankful that his taste buds didn't become numb.

'So, chakra control... There are several most common ways, leaf exercise, tree walking, and water walking. I don't feel like going outside and I don't want to get wet. Let's just try wall walking, this should have been harder than tree walking because of the smooth surface.' She was not interested to change the methods, as long as it worked.

While still sitting inside the dining room, she channeled some chakra towards her hand then placed it on the table. Ah, it stucked. Nine added more chakra but then it propelled her hand from the table. She just needed to maintain a constant supply of chakra, not too much, not to little. That meant she needed to mind the wight that was being supported by the chakra supply.

She stood up then walked towards nearest wall, 'Oh, you got it already?'

'Uhm.' She channeled some chakra towards her legs then slowly walked up to the ceiling. It's not too hard to maintain the constant supply but perhaps the only challenging aspect of this exercise was the effort to maintain the body's center of gravity with her being in horizontal position.

She stayed on the ceiling for five minutes then release her chakra and jumped down, 'Alright, we're done. Let's go to sleep.'

'You and your sleeping time, I think sleeping is your real hobby. Just remember that you need to practice water walking tomorrow, you don't need to go to academy' She didn't refute him, after all sleeping was her way of wasting time.

Since her mastery of chakra control, she often climbed up through several buildings and watched other people did their daily activities. Many interesting things happened, crimes, conflict, you name it, it was almost akin to watching a show. She liked it all, better than hearing teacher's lesson.

'I don't know what you like about this.' Sasuke once again asked her why she did this, this is the fifth time, she thought.

'It is interesting, don't you think so? Remember the incident last week when Ueda-san was caught cheating by his wife directly in front of one of the brothels in red light district? I clearly remembered you snort joyfully.'

'No, I didn't do that.' He may had reacted to that incident but he definitely didn't joyfully expressed his opinion regarding the matter. But when he recalled her dubious understanding regarding people's micro expression, he let it go.

'Oh look at that, the demon child is scolded by someone.' Nine cheerfully informed Sasuke towards a new development of today's people watching.

'Hah, do you even know his name?' He couldn't understand why she managed to precisely remembered the contents of the books that she read but couldn't even manage to remember her classmates name.

'I don't know, is that important?' She paused for a while to observed, 'Huh, weird. Where did his gut go? He seems to be very passionate everytime he challenge us even when his defeat was already seen from miles away.'

'Ah boring, he doesn't even try to argue. I don't want to be around this type of person. Let's not accept his challenge in the future.'

'I never accept, the only one that accept his challenge was you to begin with.'

'Is that so? Then... I 'll listen to you to this one.'

'Really?' He dubiously asked.

She smiled then answered, 'Uhm, really.'

'Let's go to red light district, most interesting shows happened over there!' She stood up then headed straight towards that area.

Two years passed, not in a blink of an eye. But enough for her to not died out of boredom. During these past two years, Sasuke never asked anything about his clan or the whereabouts of his brother. Perhaps he knew, after all it was not hard to know when almost all of this village residents constantly reminding her - thus, him - about that tragedy with their pitying looks as if afraid that she would break. Thankyou for the sentiments but it was ultimately unnecessary.

Most of the time Sasuke was silent but when he started to needle her to do something, she wouldn't hear the end of it until she finished doing what he wanted. He constantly nagged at her to train her Uchiha kata, wiring, throwing, fire techniques, and several D ranked techniques. Considering that he stayed inside her head, she couldn't exactly stopped him either.

'Stop nagging, I will finish this soon. Then leave me alone, don't talk to me unless I talk to you first.'

'I do not nag, I just merely reminding you. You need to build up your chakra capacity, just use it to train several D rank techniques in a row until it almost empty but not too empty that you get chakra exhaustion.'

'I miss your taciturn self.' Nine really did missed it.

'Ah, have you ever wondered why that demon child keep pestering us for challenge. You would think that since we ignore him for these past two years, he'll give up.' Nine didn't know but since Sasuke seemed to have an opinions regarding that demon child, she asked him instead.

'I don't know, wasn't it because of your previous acceptance towards his challenges?'

'Hm... Is that so? Then, can you tell me why student No. 10 until student No. 20 keeps getting louder the older they got?' She was very polite, with almost three years of practice following various books nobody would find a fault with her etiquette.

Sasuke tried to remember which students they were then remembered that they're 'his' fangirls, he shuddered for a little bit then resolutely said,

'Who knows, just don't get close to them. As you have said, the older they are the louder they got. If you still want your peace, you better not involved yourself with them.' Nine could hear his seriousness regarding this matter. Since this was not an important thing, for the sake of peaceful cohabitation she would oblige his request.

- You don't see her making friends. Reason? She doesn't want to and she genuinely doesn't think about it. Hell, she doesn't even remember their name. She may remember their ability from their faces.
