Take 2, hoping this works
Before I start I just wanna say 2 things. 1. Everybody will be aged down couple years. 2. This has the characters from One Chicago, but does not necessarily follow a plot line.
Chapter 1
Hank Voight and his partner, Alvin Olinsky, were answering a Noise Complaint Call. In Chicago these were usual for the two cops, however Voight would later realize that this call would completely change his life.
They arrived at the scene, a two story house, and walked up the driveway to the door. The first thing Voight noticed was that the blinds were pulled closed on all of the windows. Olinsky knocked on the door and shortly after a man opened up the door.
The man looked the officers over and asked, "Is there something I can help you with, officers?"
At this Voight looked over at his partner and nodded at him, signaling for him to speak.
"Well, sir, we are responding to a noise complaint. Your neighbors have been complaining about some loud noises coming from your house at night," Olinsky responded.
"Oh I'm sorry officers, it won't happen again. Have a good day," he said as he tried to close the door. However, before the door closed, Voight stuck his foot out and caught it. "Can we take a look?" He asked the man.
At this the man looked wary, but he eventually nodded and opened up the door to the men. Voight and his partner went separate ways examining the house. Voight approached a locked door near the back of this man's house. Voight thought it was odd, none of the doors were locked, what was special about this one, and tried to open the door again, this time with more force, but the door stayed closed.
"What's in here?" Voight asked as he turned around to look at the owner of the house.
"Nothing is in there, you don't need to look in there," the man responded.
At this Voight knew there was something wrong so he called over his partner.
"Sir if you don't open this door we will be forced to use force," Voight said.
"There's nothing in there for you to see!" The man screamed.
Voight noted the man's hostility and looked over at his partner.
Olinsky gave him a nod and Voight went to break down the door.
When he finally got the door free of its hinges, what he saw shocked him. There in the corner of this tiny closet was a little girl of maybe 5 years old. The girl was covered in bruises and cuts and was very malnourished.
Olinsky shook his head and pulled out his cuffs and put them on the man. Voight slowly walked into the closet trying not to startle the young girl.
When the girl saw Voight she started backing up further into the corner, shaking and scared.
"Hey it's ok. I'm not gonna hurt you," Voight said as he walked closer. He looked out at his partner, and saw him talking into his radio. Voight looked back at the girl and noticed the state she was in. Her blonde hair was a mess, her body was covered in cuts and bruises, and her eyes were wide with terror.
"Hey it's ok. My name is Officer Voight," he said as he put his gun down behind him, "I work with the Chicago Police Department. We're gonna get you out of here and somewhere safe, do you understand?" He asked the girl.
The girl looked at him and then got up and ran over to him hugging him tightly. This took Voight by surprise, but eventually he hugged her back.
"What's your name?" He asked the girl.
The girl looked up at him and was about to answer when sirens started outside. This startled her and she hugged Voight tighter and buried her face into his chest.
"Shh it's ok. They're here to help you." Voight said as he looked down at the girl in his arms.
"Please don't let them hurt me," the girl sobbed into his chest.
"I won't let them hurt you. I'll never let anybody hurt you again, do you understand?" He asked looking down at her, she did not respond but just nodded and went back to hugging him.
Voight slowly stood up, with the girl still in his arms, and walked out the door. The two paramedics came running to Voight and the girl, which scared her and she buried her head in Voight's neck. When they tried to take her away, the girl just clung tighter to Voight.
"Don't leave me," the girl cried.
Voight just held her tighter and said he wouldn't. Voight walked over to the ambulance and got in with her. As he promised her before, he didn't leave her side, not even when they got to the hospital.
After Voight took her home the girl told him that her dad, the owner of the house where they had found her, never named her. Voight thought for a while and then came up with a perfect name for this girl, Valarie.
