Raven meditated as thunder and lightning crashed outside the large windows of the tower's great room. Her eyes were relaxed and shut as she chanted softly beneath her breath. She could still feel the warmth of the herbal tea she had just drank while watching the rain. Her cloak flowed around her and she kept her legs crossed in a seated position. All was peaceful. Until it wasn't.

Nothing was touching her. No one was talking. But she could feel a new presence, a disturbance. There was another crash of thunder and Raven longed to be alone with the natural elements. But she could still feel the presence. And Raven knew that a disturbance for her always tended to be chatty, loud, and green. She took a deep breath through her nostrils.

"What do you want?" she asked without opening her eyes.

Beast Boy morphed from a butterfly to a human, landing on his feet in the doorway behind her. He leaned against the wall and said cheerfully, "Is that anyway to speak to your future boyfriend?"

"What did I say about calling yourself that," she said through her teeth. Her eyes were still closed but her eyebrows were bunched together.

Beast Boy tilted his head back and let out a dramatic sigh as he walked further into the room. He whined, "But Raven! Dude, it only makes sense! What else should I call myself? You know what Kid Flash said when he traveled to the future."

Raven's eyes shot open. She continued levitating and muttered, "Kid Flash is an idiot."

"An idiot that saw the future!" Beast Boy sprouted wings and flew up to hover beside Raven. He wiggled his eyebrows and pointed both thumbs at his wings. "Sick, right? Your boyfriend has got some new moves."

Raven covered his wings in a shadow of magic and sent Beast Boy to the ground. He landed on his butt and grumbled. She rolled her eyes and used her powers to lift him back onto his feet. Wanting to be done with the conversation, she floated down and landed in front of him on her feet.

"We make our own futures," she said.

He stared at her with those green eyes she had a hard time ignoring. She bit the inside of her cheek and then turned to walk out of the room.

Raven headed straight for the library, hoping to at least read in peace if she couldn't meditate in front of the storm. But she hadn't made it half-way there before Beast Boy trotted up to her as a green horse. He neighed and shook his mane happily. She let out an annoyed breath. She considered opening a portal and sending him through it and far away from her. But she didn't. And she didn't make him stop following her either.

They both stopped at the entrance to the library. She wondered if he would decide to leave once there because he wasn't one for reading. But he stood there beside her, tapping his hooves. Wordlessly, she tapped on the door to open it.

Raven's eyes widened in shock when the doors swooshed open. She slowly stepped inside as her eyes scanned the room. Normally, the library only held shelves of books, a few leather chairs, and some old paintings that Robin received from Batman. But today, all around the room were bundles of sunflowers.

"Surprise!" Beast Boy shouted. He was in human form with his arms outstretched and a huge smile on his face. "Sunflowers!"

Raven looked over her shoulder to see him beaming at her. She felt her face heat up and she turned away. She took a few small steps to a long-stemmed sunflower placed on a side table beside her favorite chair to read in. She picked it up and twirled it between her fingers.

"Sunflowers are my favorite," she said in monotone.

"Obviously," Beast Boy said as he plopped down in the chair opposite of hers. "They're unique and beautiful and… I don't know. A third thing." He picked up a book and added, "Just like you."

"You… you did all of this?" Raven focused on the sunflower in her hand to keep her heart from beating too quickly.

Beast Boy flipped the page of the book in his hand and murmured, "Just making my future."
