The battered smuggler ship exited hyperspace, drifted into orbit around the planet Yavin, and proceeded to land on one of its three moons.
"A gas giant with habitable moons?" Blake asks as she gazes at the approaching planet. "Well, that's good to know."
Seeing a planet with two suns and her homeworld shattered moon made Blake wonder what other surprises the Galaxy has in store for her.
"Trust me, kid. This is nowhere near the strangest place to be," Han said. Chewbacca spoke a few growl's that made Solo shiver. "Burr...don't remind me, pal. I still have nightmares of that place."
Blake raised an eyebrow at the two. "Do I wanna know?"
"Not unless you want nightmares for weeks, kid."
"Too late for that."
Soon, the smuggling vessel enters the moon's atmosphere and soars over the dense jungle. A watchtower mand by an alert guard, his laser designator in hand, scans the countryside. He sets the gun down and looks toward the temple, barely visible in the foliage. Near it was a temple where the rebels converted to be used as a military outpost.
Landing on an open area next to the stone structure. Blake, Leia, and the others are greeted by a squad of Rebel troops. They escorted the group ride into the massive temple on an armored military speeder.
As they got closer to the temple, Blake had a perfect look at it. It looks imposing in her opinion and ancient and a clever place for a base in her mind.
Blake snaps out of her train of thought when the military speeder stops in a giant improvised spaceship hangar.
Several men approached them. One the base Commander rushes up to the group and hugs Leia. Everyone around them is pleased to see the princess and points at the scene with smiles.
"You're safe! We had feared the worst." Willard said, still hugging her but composes himself, steps back, and bows formally. "When we heard about Alderaan, we were afraid that you were… lost along with your father."
"We don't have time for our sorrows, Commander. The battle station has surely tracked us here." Looks at Han. "It's the only explanation for the ease of our escape. You must use the information in this R2 unit to plan the attack. It is our only hope."
Again Blake shouted in her head that escaping the Death Star was not easy! Seriously, if that was as she said, easy, she hates seeing the Empire when they play hard.
Luke being by her side and not seeing the moment, drags her attention away to look at all the ships. He pointed at the one-man ships, X-wing fighters, and Y-wing bombers. Then started talking and explaining their roles to her, similar to what Ruby did with weapons. The tone he spoke was better than what he had on before from the Old Jedi's death. Also, making her feel better.
But like Leia said, the Empire was tracking them.
At the edge of the system, the Death Star ominously approaches the red planet of Yavin, and in the Death Star's control room, Grand Moff Tarkin and Lord Vader are interrupted in their discussion by the buzz of the comlink. Tarkin moves to answer the call.
"Yes?"
"We are approaching the planet Yavin. The Rebel base is on a moon on the far side. We are preparing to orbit the planet." The voice on the comlink says to his superior officer.
Tarkin didn't show it, but internally, he was smiling.
Back on one of Yavin's moons, one of the Rebels high-ranked officers gave a briefing on the Death Star to a group of pilots in their orange flight suits. Luke sat with them while Blake, Solo, and Chewbacca standing in the back.
A gray-bearded rebel officer stood up in front of the meeting. Named Dodonna from when Leia introduced the group before this meeting started. Behind him is a large electronic wall display going what Blake assumes to be the black and white blueprints of the Death Star. Leia and several other senators are to one side of the giant readout. The low-ceilinged room is filled with starfighter pilots, navigators, and an array of R2-type robots. Everyone is listening intently to what Dodonna is saying.
"The battle station is heavily shielded and carries a firepower greater than half the star fleet. Its defenses are designed around a direct large-scale assault. A small one-man fighter should be able to penetrate the outer defense." Dodonna says to the group. As the men and women of the Rebel Alliance murmured and whispered to each other.
One of the pilots stood up. It was the leader of Gold squadron. "Pardon me for asking, sir, but what good are snub fighters going to be against that?" He asks, voicing his justified concern.
Blake agreed with that question about how big that station was. Why attack it? Why not run while they still can before that planet-killing weapon gets here? Save as many as they can before they lose everything.
Blake fear at the thought of that planet-killing weapon found its way to her Remnant, that would be a nightmare, and it would kill all her friends as well. But she heard the briefing continue, so she listened more than voiced her concern.
"Well, the Empire doesn't consider a small one-man fighter to be any threat; otherwise, they make a tighter defense. An analysis of the plans provided by Princess Leia has demonstrated a weakness in the battle station." Dodonna points out that as Gold leader sits back down, Artoo stands next to a similar robot, makes beeping sounds, and turns his head from right to left. "The approach will not be easy. You are required to maneuver straight down this trench and skim the surface to this point. The target area is only two meters wide. It's a small thermal exhaust port, right below the main port. The shaft leads directly to the reactor system, and a precise hit will start a chain reaction, which should destroy the station."
A murmur of disbelief runs through the room. Blake could hardly blame them as well.
"Only a precise hit will set up a chain reaction. The shaft is ray-shielded, so you'll have to use proton torpedoes."
One other Pilot spoke. "That's impossible, even for a computer." One said.
"It's not impossible. I used to bull's eye womp rats in my T-sixteen back home. They're not much bigger than two meters." Luke says, telling them something he did in the past. Now Blake could not help but smile at this.
"Crew your ships! And may the Force be with you!" The group rises and begins to leave then to go to their ships to the desperate attack on the Death Star.
Blake sees Luke going with them and gives a concerned look for him. They may have been with each other for a short time, but she really felt like she bonded with him, and if he died, she would feel like a part of her died as well.
Her gaze was torn away when a hand landed on her shoulder. She turned to see it was Han's hand.
"Come on, kid. It's almost time to go." Solo says to Blake as he leaves with Chewie. Blake follows behind while looking at Luke once more before going.
The Death Star begins to move around the planet toward the tiny green moon that has the rebels resided.
Tarkin and Vader watch the computer projected screen with interest, as a circle of lights intertwines around one another on the screen showing its position in relation to Yavin and the fourth moon.
"Orbiting the planet at maximum velocity. The moon with the Rebel base will be in range in thirty minutes." The voice on the speakers said.
"This will be a day that will be long remembered. It has seen the end of Kenobi, and it will soon see the end of the Rebellion." Vader Declared.
On Yavin's moon in the temple at the hanger. Luke's ship was ready as he was going with the others to attack the Death Star. But he walks to some people first and sees Solo, Chewie and Blake pack the reward money onto the falcon.
"So… you got your reward, and you're just leaving then?" Luke asks Han as the smuggler turns to him.
"That's right, yeah! I got some old debts I've got to pay off with this stuff. Even if I didn't, you don't think I'd be fool enough to stick around here, do you?" Solo asks as Luke sighs. "Why don't you come with us? You're pretty good in a fight. I could use you." Solo offered Luke. Blake hears this part of her hopes Luke would accept…but she knows better.
And she was Right Luke got a little angry. "Come on! Why don't you take a look around? You know what's about to happen, what they're up against. They could use a good pilot like you. You're turning your back on them."
Blake looks down. What he said almost reminded her of how she left her friends on Remnant. She's not sure what happened to them and how much had changed after she left her world. She could only hope for the best.
"What good's a reward if you ain't around to use it? Besides, attacking that battle station ain't my idea of courage. It's more like suicide." Solo may be harsh on what he said, and Blake knew it, but she had to agree he had a point.
"All right. Well, take care of yourself, Han. I guess that's what you're best at, isn't it?" Luke goes off then.
Han hesitates for a bit then calls to him. "Hey, Luke… may the Force be with you."
Luke turns and sees Han wink at him. Luke lifts his hand in a small wave and then goes off. But stops once again when Blake calls out.
"Hey, Luke." Luke then turns to her. "When you attack that monster of a station, please don't die" she says in a soft tone. Luke feels his face heat up when Blake goes up and gives Skywalker a hug. To which he slowly returns.
"I don't die easily, Blake…well, hopefully, we see each other again," Luke says more kindly to her than Solo before they separate as he goes to board his ship then.
The car Faunus turns around to see the amused faces of her smuggling duo, making her face turn red.
"Shut up." She walks past them to grab another crate.
"I didn't say anything." Han raised his hands. "Chewie, back me up on this one."
The Wookie growls in amusement before picking another crate.
While they loaded the crates on the falcon. Someone walked up, wore armor similar to what stormtroopers wore, but the armor looked aged. It had some red markings on the man's elbow and knee pads. He had his helmet to his side with red markings over the eye sockets, making it look like an extra pair of eyes and two pistol holsters to hold two pistols. The said man looked old but well fit for his age.
"Excuse me, ma'am." He says, catching Blake's attention, who turns to the said man.
"Ah hey…" Blake says to the older man.
"Is it alright if I talk to you?" The man asks Blake.
Blake was hesitant but nodded. "Yes."
"Ok first nice to meet ya. I heard from the princess that you met with General Kanobi." The person says as Blake looks at him. "Kanobi and I go back, were old friends. Well, let me introduce myself, Captain Fordo. Former ARC trooper of the Grand Army of the Republic."
Note: Well, heres the next chapter, and sorry its short.
And also yes the Captain Fordo is the one you all know well!
Also i like to thank Helljumper206 for helping me Edit, well hope you all enjoyed the chap.
