Percy's POV

Percy was...having quite a fun time in the Maze.

Or rather, Nico was having fun breaking the rules and shadow-traveling in to give him updates on the Granger and Weasley duo's inability to understand what flirting was. Will was definitely fuming about Nico's lack of self-preservation but oh well. Percy needed to pass the time anyways-his goal wasn't to get to the Cup after all.

It was to minimize the threats. Because of course, monsters that no wizard would know of were popping up.

Percy groaned as he stabbed another monster and saw the sparks flying over the top of the hedges. "You gotta be kidding me, right?" He asked no one, jogging towrads the general direction of the sparks only to run into Cedric and Harry leaving the scene.

"What happened?" Percy called to them.

"Fleur and Krumm got knocked out." Cedric answered. "Think someone's coming for them now."

"Nothing else nearby?"

"I think it's safe for now."

Percy exhaled. "Good." he sighed in relief, before turnign down a different path. He'd probably stay in the general area until the other two Champions were fished out of the maze. Harry and Cedric were together, they'd be fine.

Besides he couuld always get Nico to stalk them. Nico was more then capable of hadling the monsters that would come of the two wizards.

Probably.

"What do you mean they're gone?" Annabeth asked.

"They just are! I don't know why, it's like when Nico does his disappearing trick but I don't think Cedric and Harry can do that kind of stuff!" Percy exclaimed.

"Can we track where they went? We should be able to-" Hermione started to ask but McGongail shook her head.

"They may havve been taken by a Portkey. If so, then it's going to be rather difficult to do that."

Dumbledore glanced at Chiron. "Are all of your students acounted for?"

"I believe so...let's see, Percy, Annabeth, Hazel, Piper, Calypso, Will, Leo- Where's Lou Ellen and Nico?" Chiron frowned.

"RIght here." Will had both Lou and Nico by the arms. "They both wanted to do dumb stuff."

"It wasn't dumb!"

"Yeah right. The last time you went frolicking all over the place, you almost died, Death Boy."

Nico pouted. "Rude. Lou, tell Will I'm dumping him."

"That's your problem, Nico." Lou just grinned.

"Okay, enogh bickering you three. All students acounted for, Albus. Jason, Reyna, and Thalia went back to America already." Chiron told Dumbledore, who just nodded as he got confirmations from the other teachers that all the students were there.

"Should we evacuate the stan-" Flitwick started to say, just as Harry and a very dead Cedric reappeared, causing instant chaos.

Percy glanced at Annabeth and the duo immediately jumped into action. With all this commotion, monsters were bound to come running form the maze.

And they did. Hazel, Leo, and Frank were already in the thick of battle, just inside the entrance to the maze. Lou was guarding the entrance, weaving the Mist in an attempt to cover for the others. When Percy and Annabeth caught up, Hazel fell back to help Lou with other entrances to the Maze.

"Whose dumb idea was it to bring in our monsters into the maze?" Percy groaned.

"Wizards who think they're other creatures, obviously." Annabeth sighed. "Or were blinded by the Mist." She stabbed her sword through a monster Leo was having a little trouble fighting, disintergrating it into dust.

"Can't be too many more, right?" Frank winced as claws raked across his shoulder.

Nico, Piper, Calypso, and Will came running towards them. "We got all the monsters in the maze, so that should be it if you guys got the ones out here." Will reported.

"I think we did. We should probably head back before someone notices we're gone." Frank suggested and the others agreed, the group heading back to the crowds which had thinned out.

Several of the staff, as well as Harry, had disappeared as well but the group paid little mind to that, instead spreading out among the people still there to try and figure out what was going on.

Percy watched as Cedric's father, his son in his arms, stumbled away, supported by some others he guessed were Aurors or castle staff. "So, who won the Tournament?"

"Harry Potter, but I doubt the celebration will be very cheerful though. Cedric's girlfriend, Cho, she's really upset." A Ravenclaw standing nearby told him.

Nico frowned. "Am I going to have to do the funeral rites or do you guys have stuff for that here?"

"Huh?"

"Nico handles pretty much anything related to death at our um, school." Percy quickly jumped in.

The girl didn't look satisfied iwth that answer but shrugged it off anywyas. "I think Mr. Diggory is going to arrange that. We'll probably get a memorial service or something."

"Remind me to get that guy a fastpass to Elysium." Nico muttered to Percy.

"Your dad is going to go nuts if you keep doing that, y'know."

"Eh. The counts won't be off. It''ll be fine, he'll probably make it anyways. Heroic deaths and all." Nico and Percy had moved away from the Ravenclaw girl by now, walking towards the castle.

"That's true." Percy agreed. "So, where'd the Portkey take them anyways?"

"Dunno. But it ended in death and I don't think Potter did it." Nico shrugged.

"Guess we'll just have to wait and see then."
