Bucky held the door open for his date, watching her step into the establishment.
Music poured across the floor, and V turned at the beginning of the dance floor, taking Bucky's hand she practically yanked him out after her.
She smiled up at him, her eyes lighting up as his arms settled around her.
He smiled down at her, noticing a slightly purple dot in her bright green eyes.
"Valery?" Dr. Erskine called, knocking on the door. When there was no response, he gently turned to knob. "V?"
The room was dark and the bed was unused. Stepping into the room, he tossed a file on the desk. On the note clipped to the top it simply read, 'We have found him.'
Stepping off of the dance floor and up to the bar, the couple ordered drinks.
"Don't you have to ship out at dawn, Sergeant?"
He glanced down at her, "I do."
"Wouldn't you like to get sleep?"
"I'd much rather dance the night away with you."
She smiled, taking a sip of her drink.
"Is your father going to be worried about you?"
"My father trusts me to come home."
He nodded, watching the band start to box up their equipment. "Looks like you'll be coming home sooner than later. The dancing's over with."
She looked back. "Shame, I was looking forward to dancing the entire night away."
"If they're closing here, then most of the bars in the city are closing or closed already."
She set her drink down, watching him settle with the bartender before offering her his arm and heading for the door.
"I suppose it is about time to get you home."
The streets around them were vacant, just the two of them and the odd alley cat.
"Or …" He started, wandering away from the street lamps, "I know somewhere we can go, if it's alright with you?"
She glanced up at him.
"If you'd like to keep dancing?"
She nodded. "Yes, I would."
He took her hand, heading across the street in a new direction.
