Valery stepped into her tent a few hours later.
Bucky was waiting on her. "What did you do?"
"You don't need to know that."
"What if they find the bodies?"
"They won't."
"You can't have moved them, Valery. They were full grown men."
"I handled it, Bucky." Though she was shorter than he was, she stood her ground as they argued for control of the situation.
"What now?"
"I'm going shower and then I have to find their camp. If Hydra got this close, they did it to for a reason. They had to have some intel."
"Intel regarding?"
"Me." She grabbed her toiletries bag and left the tent.
When Valery stepped into her room, Bucky had left.
Opening her footlocker, she pulled a gilded mirror.
Checking to ensure that no one was walking past her tent, she tapped the crystal glass surface. It glinted with purple light.
After the light dissipated, the surface became smooth, and the face of a pretty brunette appeared.
"Where are you?" The girl asked, sounding irritated.
"I'm sorry, Peggy. I had to come see for myself." V apologized.
"See what? You know he is out there and that he is looking for you!"
Valery adjusted so she was leaning against her bunk. "I need to know if he has the tesseract."
"So what if he does, Valery?" Peggy glanced up at something across the room from her. "Come home."
"I'm not ready to come back yet."
"Howard says that this has something to do with some Sargent that you've met."
"I assure you that it is not how Howard makes it sound."
Peggy nodded. "Come home."
"I can spare a few hours tonight."
There was a sigh. "I'll see you then."
