"You should see them." Peggy scoffed, handing Valery a teacup. "Some of the most brutish men have been inducted into this program."

"Do any of them show promise?" She took a sip.

"One. Abraham is so excited about him, his name is –"

"Steve Rogers." Valery nodded. "He showed me the file."

"You need to meet the man."

She set her teacup on the table. "I …"

"Valery, tell me." Peggy set a hand on the other woman's knee.

"I didn't think Johann would become what he was."

Peggy squeezed her leg. "No one could have known."

"I should have seen it." She shook her head. "I have gotten away from looking into the minds of humans for my own selfish reasons, I suppose I forget how selfish humans can be on their own."

"Look into my mind, V. You need to know the man you're going to choose."

"The program hasn't even been completed yet."

Peggy leaned in closer.

Valery cupped her cheek in one hand, her eyes glancing over purple.

After a few minutes, she retracted her hand and her eyes went back to normal. Picking up her teacup, she took a sip.

Peggy looked at her expectantly.

"He is truly one-of-a-kind." She admitted.

Peggy toyed with her own tea.

"You are developing feelings for him."

"You saw that as well?"

"You let me into your mind, did you think I could miss that?"

"What about this Sargent?"

"He appeals to me."

"The way I appeal to you?"

"The way Steve Rogers appeals to you." She admitted.

Peggy stood. "Perhaps you could remind me of my appeal before you go back to the front."

Valery smiled, getting up and following her.
