Artoria had her tail between her legs, ashamed while Kay scolded her, her blue draconic eyes didn't leave the background as her older brother repeated the accusation for the tenth time in half an hour.

"Really Artoria, how many time did Ektor has said it? Don't go to the village without supervision, especially if you aren't sure you can hide your dragon attributes"

It was a Monday afternoon, usually that day would be dedicated to less training and more helping around the house, cleaning and tending to the horses as well as fixing whatever needed repair, it was also the day they would go down towards the Village and pick up groceries.

Kay was the one who would go to the Village but lately Ektor have been giving the twins more freedom to roam around, not only because they've been learning to hide their more animalistic attributes but because they've started to become restless cooped up in their small isolated house.

It's been two years, two whole years since Merlin had knocked in their front door, carrying two little half-human half-beast children.

At first Ektor had denied to take both of them, the deal was to take on the heir, one, and seeing that one of them was a girl he would take the most logical choice and adopt the boy.

But Merlin had explained that even he didn't know who would be King in the end, so they both were to be raised as if they were the chosen ones.

Ektor has sighed, his wife was not going to be happy, she was already doubtful of having to adopt one.

But maybe... maybe she would change her mind once she saw that one of the children was a girl.

In the end he accepted.

Kay woke up as usual just to find two little beasts, as he refered to them, eating something in the kitchen while his mother was preparing some food and humming, Ektor was nowhere to be found.

And that's how the now 12 year old boy found himself in charge of two brats 5 years younger than him, one of which was an absolute rascal and just made his life impossible.

The boy sighed.

"Look"

He stopped on his tracks and turned around to see his sister, said girl also stopped, looking at him from below her hood.

"I know it's difficult to be cooped all day in the same place, specially since you used to run around the forest before"

Artoria only scoffed and moved her blue scaly tail from side to side.

"I won't tell Ektor about this, I took you with me to buy groceries and that's it, okay?"

The girls eyes opened a little more in surprise.

"Okay"

"Alright then"

He got closer to her and ruffled her hair minding her horns.

"Just don't do it again, let's keep this as a one time thing"

Artoria laughed slightly.

"Fine"

He turned around and resumed walking.

"You're lucky Ektor and Mom weren't home today"

"Uhm"

They resumed walking on the setting sun, the dirt road becoming a bit more difficult to walk in as they got far from the village.

Finally as the last lights of the sun started to fade they arrived to the house, everything was mostly silent.

"They aren't back yet?"

Kay didn't answer, he just went to the door of the house.

"Go help Arthur with the horses, by the time you two finish your work they should be back"

And with that the older boy got into the house and closed the door in her face.

Artoria didn't had time to answer but shrugged, she loved the horses anyways so it was more like a treat than anything else.

Doing as she was told she went around the building towards the stables were some light could be seen.

"Where were you?"

Artoria had just go there when she heard his brothers voice.

"I just went to take a walk"

"To the village, right?"

The girl sighed "Yeah"

"Uhm"

Arthur resumed his work with one of the horses, his sister went to help with one of the new foals they had bought that spring.

"Hey"

Artoria looked up from her work.

"You should take me with you next time"

"Maybe I will" she said scoffing.

"How was it?"

"Amazing!" She threw her arms up "It's all full of life, there were lots of children playing and I think I saw a caravan with some Royal people"

"What? Really? Here?" Arthurs ears twitched a little.

She nodded

"Weird, Merlin didn't said anything"

"I know right? Oh, Oh! Listen to this!"

The boy looked at her.

"So ... It was hot and I went up a tree to cool down in the shadow, I stayed there a bit looking as everyone that passes around"

"Did they saw you?"

"Nah"

He nodded

"And the this girl came by chasing something that got stuck in the tree, she attempted to climb it and got stuck, it was way below me so she didn't see me."

He suspired.

"And then"

"Well the thing she was chasing was close to me so I took it, I think it was a lace, I admit I laughed a bit seeing her there trying to get down, she was so cute"

"Hey! Who are you and why are you laughing?!"

"Sorry"

The dragon passed her the lace, still covered in shadows, the other girl came close and took it before steading herself in the branch.

Artoria just admired her, her skin was fairly pale yet it was easy to say it was a light pink, brunette long hair floating around her, freckles adorning her hands and face, she was wearing an uncomfortable looking green dress.

She saw her struggling for a bit more before deciding to go down help her.

She hide her Dragon attributes and went down a few branches.

"Do you need help?"

When the other girl looked at her Artoria was stunned seeing those almond eyes.

"... Yes, that would be helpful"

The country girl nodded.

"Okay so you have to put your feet her..."

In mere minutes both children were down the try, the brunette made a reverence towards her saviour.

"Thanks a lot for your help" she lifted herslef to be able to see Artoria to her eyes, the blonde gulped a bit.

"I would've got in a lot of trouble If my father had seen me there"

Artoria dismissed it.

"It's okay, nothing too bad."

Just as the royal girl was going to reply they heard some horses.

"Ah, I think that's my carriage, then I'll be going, again thanks a lot for the help errrr-"

"Arthur"

"Thank your your help Arthur" She smiled.

Just as the girl was leaving Artoria made a question, curious about this girl.

"Wait, you have my name, so what's yours?"

"Guinevere, my name is Guinevere"

This specific plotline may continue but I'm not sure, there's a basic plot I can follow but not sure if I'm capable enough of writing it so this One-shot will do for now.
