A/N: Good day. A lot has happened since I uploaded last. A few days after uploading the previous chapter, I was diagnosed with COVID-19, and sort of… maybe forgot about the story for a few months. But i'm back, and with my second case of covid! So, I am going to be uploading chapters periodically.
"So Logan, you are going to be here-" She pointed at a spot on the map, not too far from the creek, "I think this is the best position given your skill set. Malcolm, you are going to be directly guarding Zeus's fist with May and Bianca." She kept droning on and on like that for some time. I decided to take the time to look at her stats.
Annabeth Chase
Title: Daughter of Athena

Annabeth Chase is the head counselor of the Athena cabin. She is a genius, but she is almost as strong as she is smart.
She has a very positive opinion of Logan, she loves to be around him but would never admit it.
Likes:Planning/strategizing, Logan, Camp
Dislikes:Spiders, Cyclopes, Stereotypes
Huh, a very positive opinion of me? Hmm, i wonder why? She noticed me looking at her, and looked away and blushed a little bit. I started to wonder…
"Logan!"
"Huh, what?" I said as I was startled back to the real world.
"I said 'does that sound like a good plan?'"
"Yeah, it does. Say, What time is it?" She looked down at her watch
"It's around 8:30, why?"
"The game starts at 9 right? We still have some time to spar, if you want?"
"Uhh, sure!" So we made our way over to the arena, where we saw Clarisse and her goons training for the upcoming game. She turned around and saw me, Annabeth, Malcolm, and about 7 or 8 more Athena cabin members walking towards the arena.
"Hey guys look, it's the loser squad!" Her goons started laughing. I used my mana to find the river that was running near the arena. I found it and snapped my fingers, summoning a large ball of water directly above their heads. I pointed above them, and as soon as they looked up, I dropped the ball of water on them.
Ding!
Skill leveled up!
Water controlling
Level: 2
Can manipulate water, and move it around.
Mana cost: 8 MP
Wow! I didn't think each level up would be this good! I need to train some more. Maybe after the game. I dismissed the notification and looked at Clarisse. She was fuming mad. She stormed over to me, as I pulled out Whirlpool, and uncapped it to reveal a long, Celestial bronze blade. She kept walking over to me and angrily tried to slam her spear down on my head. I blocked it just in time, side-stepped her next strike, and hit her in the side with the flat of my blade. "Really? Is that all the daughter of Ares can do?" She got back up and ran at me with her spear pointed at my stomach. I hit it aside with my sword and kneed her in the side, knocking her to the ground. "Now, are you done trying to kill me? Good, now, get out!" I said while looking as fierce as i could to the rest of the Ares cabin members.
Ding!
New skill unlocked!
Bloodlust
Level: 1
You have a chance of scarring your enemies away.
Chance: 15% (-1% per level they are more than you)
Wow, this could come in handy. I dismissed the notification, and looked back at the Ares Cabin. They all looked scared and they ran off. I helped clarisse up off the ground.
"No hard feelings?"
"This isn't over, you hear me? This isn't over!" She turned and ran off to join the rest of her cabin mates. I turned to look at Annabeth, and she was just staring at me with her mouth open.
"You know, you should shut your mouth before you swallow a fly." She shut her mouth and shook her head.
"You just scared away the entire Ares cabin."
"I know, pretty cool huh?"
"Pretty cool? We have been trying to get them off our back for years! You are insane!"
"I know! Now, we need to spar!" The horn sounded to alert us that there are only 15 minutes until the game starts. "Everyone grab a partner, and start sparring. Find your weakest skill and work on it!" Annabeth came over to me, and pulled out her dagger. I pulled out my sword. "I won't use my water powers cause that's a little unfair." She ran at me, and I put up my guard. She ducked under my guard, and caught me with the flat of her blade right in the stomach.
"Your main problem is that you think that everyone is going to be predictable. You need to be able to read your opponents to know what they are going to do. Never assume anything. Now, let's start again." She ran at me but this time, I was watching her eyes. They were fixed on my stomach, so I put my guard up around my stomach at the last minute, deflecting her dagger away. While she was recovering, I hit her leg with the flat of my sword making her fall to the ground. I pointed my sword at her. She got her dagger, and pushed my sword away, putting her leg behind mine and forcing me to the ground. Then she got behind me and put her knife to my throat. "Yield." she said threateningly.
"Ok, ok, I yield. Damn, you are good!" i said while brushing the dust off of my shirt. Then the horn sounded, alerting us to 5 minutes until the game started, meaning we needed to assemble in the main field. Annabeth turned to the crowd and assembled them. We all started towards the main field, where I saw all of the other campers arranged by cabin. I got in my own line beside Thalia, who was also by herself. I then saw Percy running towards the line, his hair was in a mess, and he looked like he just woke up.
"Hey! How are you doing?" I greeted my cabin mate.
"Good! What about you?"
"Pretty good, I just got done sparring with Annabeth. She is good!"
"Yeah, she is." he looked over to the other cabins. "Hey, what's the deal with the Ares cabin?" I looked over and they were all glaring at me.
"Oh them? I kinda kicked Clarisse's ass, and then scared them off." He stared at me like he didn't believe me. I stared back, and after about 5 seconds he cracked a smile.
"Nice man! You know, that's one of the first things i did when i got here too. She was trying to give me a swirly, and I accidentally made the toilets explode and get water all over her." He started laughing, then he quieted down when Chiron stamped his hoof on the ground.
"Good evening campers. The game starts in 5 minutes, but before it starts, I have some announcements. First, please try your best to not injure anyone. Absolutely no maiming or life threatening injuries. Second, magic items or artifacts are allowed. Any enchanted items or armour is allowed. Everyone get to your places, the game starts when you hear the horn." Me and the rest of my teammates, which included the entire Athena cabin, Percy, a few people from the Hermes cabin, and the entire Hephestus cabin. We all got to our proper spots, and waited for the horn to sound. After about 2 minutes, we heard the horn. The game has begun.
