The Gamer chapter 17

Breakfast was pretty quick, but it was also really good. As always, it was exactly what I wanted. A bacon, egg, and cheese on a home made biscuit, and a side of hash browns. After I ate, I turned to Percy.

"Hey, Percy?"

"Yeah, what's up?"

"Where do you go to train?" His face lit up as I asked him the question.

"Come on, follow me!" He jumped up and ran out the door. A did the same and followed closely behind him. He stopped abruptly and I almost ran in to him. "This!" he said dramatically, "is the rock climbing wall!" He gestured to a rock face in front of us.

"Doesn't look to special." I said, honestly a bit underwhelmed.

"Well it isn't on yet!" I was confused about what he meant, but when he walked closer to it, I understood. It magicaly started moving. Hand and foot holds were moving, there were rocks being dropped from the top every once in a while, and after a second, lava started pouring from the top.

"What the hell!" This is looking pretty good! "Is that real lava!?"

"Yes sir!" He said in an over-exaggerated southern accent. "one hundred percent gen-u-ine lava!" He cracked that iconic shit eating grin.

"What happens if you fall?"

"Sucks to suck!" He saw all the color drain from my face, and started laughing. "I'm just screwing with you! There is wind spirits that will catch you before you hit the ground." He started up the wall, and I just watched him go higher and higher. Then, oonce he reached the top around 3 minutes later, he just jumped off. He fell and fell, then when he was right next to the ground, he slowed dramatically and landed on his feet.

"That's so cool! Let me try!"

"Whoa dude, be careful!" He wanked me away from the wall just as a huge boulder fell right where I was standing.

"Holy Shit! I could have died!"

"You wouldn't have died. A few days in the Apollo cabin and you would have been good as new!" I shot him a rude look, and he shut up. I walked back up to the wall, looking up the whole time. This actually looks like a pretty easy rock wall. I grabbed in to the rock face, put my foot in a foothold, and started making my way up the wall. "Logan, look out!" I looked up just in time to see a large boulder coming my way. I just manged to jump to the left. It took me a second before I realized 'Oh wait! I'm 45 feet in the air!' So I start falling. I try to grab myself, but I just scraped my hands on the rocks. I finally just resigned to the fact that I'm gonna have to trust the wind spirits. Sure enough, right before I hit the ground I was caught by wind and blown upwards on to my feet. I still stumbled a bit before I hit the ground.

"Thanks for the heads up!" I said.

"No prob!" I got back on the wall, and started toward the top again. I was a little slow going, but I started to build confidence and started to do more crazy maneuvers. I had to jump to the right a couple of times to avoid boulders and lava.

I saw a boulder coming towards me, so I looked around for any hand holds. There weren't any in my right, so I jumped to my left and hoped there were some there. Aha! I grabbed with one hand and hoped my strength stat was good enough to hold on. It was, but just barely until I could grab on with my other hand,

I got distracted by the notification, causing me to lose focus and to get hit in the head with one of the smaller rocks that were falling. It was still enough to hurt a lot. I saw my vision fading

and then… black.

Time skip, about 3 hours, around noon

Health and mana have been restored to 75%. You are well rested

I woke up in probably one of the brightest rooms I have ever seen. I squinted my eyes as they adjusted to the level of gold and white that was around me. When my eyes were fully adjusted I noticed where I was. Right were Percy said I would end up. The Apollo cabin. I was in a room, with just a bed, and some hospital equipment. I looked around and saw that Thalia was sitting next to me, looking more nervous than I've seen her since we met.

"Hey Thals." I said weekly, barely audible even in the dead silent room. Her head jerked up so fast I thought she was going to hit her head on the wall.

"Logan! What happened? I see you and Percy running out of the mess hall with that fucking grin on your face, then I hear you being brought to the Hospital wing! What happened?" her hair was getting frizzy from the static electricity she was generating.

"Calm down, calm down! Let me explain! I asked Percy where his favorite place to train was. I followed him to the rock wall, climbed it, and got hit in the head with a rock! That's all!"
"Three hours, seaweed brain! That's how long you've been out! I've been worried sick!"

"Relax! I'm fine!" I tried to sit up, but promptly collapsed back on the bed.
"No sir, you are not moving until Will says you are dismissed!" I tried to protest, but she shut that down immediately.

"Come here, I have to tell you a secret." She started to lean towards me, and I grabbed the back of her head and kissed her. It was a long kiss, like the kind you see in movies. It was honestly amazing. When she finally pulled away, both of us were blushing like crazy.

"Ahem" I see Will peaking his head through the door, also blushing slightly from seeing it. "I'm here to check up on Logan, as long as I'm not interrupting anything?"

"Oh, uh, no, that's fine." I said, barely audibly. He pulled out his stethescope and checked my heart and my breathing. He then pulled out one of his more shiny arrows and told me to follow it with my eyes. He did a few more simple tests like these, and proceed to say "Okay! All good! Anything else you need me to check out?"

"Nope! I think I'm good! Thanks!" I said, already making my way towards the door.

"Okay!" I was about to shut the door behind me when he called again. "Hey! You behave yourselves, ya hear?"

I turned back towards him and said, with the iconic, Poseidon child trademark, shit eating grin and simply say "No promises!"
