New battle lines

form the philistines

to one hill

and the Israelite's

to the other

standing up

the ground shook

beneath Goliath's outcry

"Come on down

ya men of God,

chose a man

to fight me.

If he slays me

my people

will be yours

but if I kill him

you'll be ours."

For forty days

the giant jeer

and flooded

the Israelite's

in fear.

Than David

reach camp

with provisions

for the men

greeting his brothers

Goliath step out again

slurring such filth

it made David rage inside

he asked a man

near by

"Who is he

that defies the armies

of the living God!

What will be done

for the man

who kills this disgrace?"

"The king will give

great wealth

to the man

along with his

daughter as a bride."

What David said

was overheard

and reported

to Saul who

sent for him.

David said

to Saul

"Let no one

lose heart

on my account.

your servant will fight

this philistine."

"You cant go out

against him.

You're only a boy.

Hes been fighting

men since his youth."

"As I've been keeping

my fathers sheep.

a lion prowl

near the herd

pouncing,

it jaws nab one

but I struck it down.

I even face

a bear

who turned on me

I seized it by the hair

and it fell.

This philistine

will be no different

he's defied

the army

of the living God.

The Lord will

deliver him to me."

"Go," Saul said.

"The Lord be

with you."

David took his staff

in hand chose

five smooth stones

from a nearby stream

put them in a pouch

and with his sling

in hand approach

the giant

"Watch out,

Goliath's coming down!"

The men shriek.

He look David over.

"Am I a dog

that ya come

at me with sticks.

Come here boy

I'll give you're flesh

to the birds!"

"You come

against me

with sword

and spear,"

David said.

"But I come

against you

in the name

of the Lord."

David ran

to meet him

stone in hand

he went swinging,

the stone

sunk Goliath's forehead

crashing face down

on the ground

the philistines

saw their champion

die.

They turn tail

the men of Israel

chase em

in hot pursuit

strewing their carcasses

along the way

David took a sword

cut off Goliath's head

and brought it

to Jerusalem
