It was early morning when team 7 gathered at the training grounds. Sasuke was the first to arrive. Sakura followed soon after. Naruto and Tsuki did not show up and it was not until an hour later that they arrived.
"You two are late! What if Kakashi sensai showed up!" Sakura called out as the two approached their teammates.
Tsuki just yawned and Naruto glanced around the training field "I don't see Kakashi sensai here, what about you Tsuki?"
Tsuki glanced around and listened for a moment before shaking her head. "Nope, I guess that means we are not late Naruto nii-sama." She said with a smile before she turned back to the other two. "Seems like we are fine."
"Since he was so late yesterday I wanted to look into our Sensei, turns out he is famous for being late to things." Naruto explained as he took a seat on the ground and started to do some base warm ups. "So when we woke up, we just took our time getting ready. Looks like that bet paid off.
Sakura glared at them a bit just huffed and turned away.
Sasuke watched the two of them from his position at the wooden post. 'Naruto actually looked into Kaksshi's background after the meeting? Guess he is not as clueless after all.' He thought before straightening up. "Did you learn anything else?" He asked, surprising his three teammates.
Naruto looked at his long time rival for a few moments before he got nudged in the side by Tsuki.
"Not much, apparently he fought in the previous Ninja war and was a student of the Fourth Hokage." He said much to Sakura and Sasuke's surprised. "Not much else I could learn aside from the fact he reads a book series called Make Out Paradise...whatever that is."
"Make Out Paradise?" Sasuke repeated as he stared at Naruto
"Hey don't look at me I don't know what it is. Tsuki did but she only told me that if she caught me reading it I would regret it." Naruto replied as Tsuki glanced away from the group with a slight blush on her face.
Sakura and Sasuke blinked but decided to drop the subject. As the team went back to waiting. It took another two hours of waiting before.
"Good morning guys." Kakashi said as he walked onto the field.
"You're late!" Sakura, Naruto and Tsuki yelled out. Sauske seemed composed but annoyed as he looked at their new sensei.
"Well black cat crossed my path so to avoid bad luck I took the long way." Kakashi replied leaving his team minis Sasuke with a dumbfounded expression on their faces.
Kakashi proceeded to walk to an area in front of them and set down four boxes and a clock.
"This clock is set for noon." He said and held up three bells."You have until then to try and take these bells from me. Anyone who does not have a bell by then will be tied to one of the posts behind you and go without lunch while I eat my Lunch in front of you."
"But there are three bells." Sakura said.
"Ah so you noticed. Anyone who does not have a bell will be kicked off the team and sent back to the academy" Kakashi said as he explained the rest of the challenge.
They all gulped and glanced at each other before they turned back to Kakashi.
He smiled at them before tying the bells to his belt. "Your time starts...Now!" He said and the four of them vanished.
'Let's see if they can figure it out.' Kakashi thought as he looked around the clearing before walking deeper into the training ground.
Kakashi soon arrived at a small clearing near a river in the training ground. 'Let's give them a few moments before I figure out where they are.' He thought as he glanced up at the sky lazily.
He waited a bit before he glanced around the clearing. 'Let's see, Sasuke has taken position in the tree to the west of me, I guess he thought it would give him a vantage point.'he thought as he continued to scan the tree line till he spotted his next student.
'Sakura has chosen a low to the ground approach, probably thought the bushes would help hide her hair. Still a decent hiding spot. Now that just leaves..' his thoughts were interrupted by two Kenai flying in his directions which he effortlessly dodges.
That attack was closely followed by a punch to his head and a kick to his ribs which he blocks before looking at his attackers. "You two." Kakashi said as he finished his train of thought, holding Naruto's hand and Tsuki's leg.
He throws them away from him and the two managed to right themselves as they land.
"You know I thought you two would have hidden like the rest of your team."
Naruto smiles as he grabs another kunai. "Well we are on a time limit and you have our goal, so why hide when you know we're coming after you." He said as Tsuki also got out another kunai.
"Well that is pretty well thought out for one with the class's low scores." Kakashi said, testing Naruto's reaction.
Naruto glared at him and growled. "Hey! I got a lot better than I was a while ago and I'm gonna show you." He said as he crossed his fingers in a T formation. "Shadow Clone jutsu!" He called out and in a puff of smoke seven more Narutos appeared.
'Hmm so it is true that he can create Shadow Clones.' He thought as he adjusted his position slightly. 'But how well can he use them?'
The clones then charged in towards Kakashi. 'Despite their numbers they only have the same skill as their creator.' He thought as the clones approached. He quickly dodged one of their punches and grabbed its arm, swinging the clones body into another one destroying them both.
Two more clones attacked and tried to pincer him but he jumped out of the way causing them to miss but they did not pop.
Two more Narutos lapped over their fallen comrades and aimed to hit him in the stomach but he punched them due to his longer reach causing them to pop. He quickly moved onto the downed clones and hit them as well, leaving one vlone left and the original along with Tsuki.
'Hmm they have been hanging back and let the clones fight for them after our bout. I wonder, does Naruto know the scouting use of the clones? Or are they just trying to tire me out?' He thought as he finished off the last clone with a chop to the neck.
"Seems like your clones failed. Maybe you should try a bit harder, who knows you might even get my full attention." He said mockingly.
Naruto growled and threw two more kunai before charging in with Tsuki close behind him.
Kakashi effortlessly dodges the kunai and ducks as Naruto kicks at him, causing him to miss.
Noticing that he missed and Kakashi was below him now he twisted his body so he was somewhat facing him again as he felt his body get pulled back by Tsuki who pulls Naruto behind her as she gets between him and Kakashi, throwing a punch at him as she comes to a stop.
Kakashi smiled at their actions and jumped back. 'They got good team work but I suppose it makes sense since they live together.' He thought as he glances in the direction of his other two students. 'But they do not seem to have discussed this plan with Sakura or Sasuke, and neither of those two have tried to help them out yet. As it is this team might fail.'
Kakashi then turned his attention back to the two he was fighting as they approached him again this time with some Shadow Clones backing them up.
As one of the clones hit Kakashi there was a puff of smoke. The Clones, Naruto and Tsuki jumped away and upon the smoke clearing Kakashi was gone.
"WHAT?! Where did he go?" The real Naruto asked.
"He must have substituted." One of the clones said as he started to look around.
Tsuki nodded in agreement. "Well he is gone now." She said as she glanced towards their teammates position. 'Their gone too.' She thought before she turned to Naruto. "So what should we do now?" She asked.
Naruto dispelled his clones and closed his eyes to think. After a few moments his eyes shot open. "We should find the other." He answered.
Tsuki raised an eyebrow at him.
"Well if we could not get the bells, maybe with Sakura and Sasuke's help we could." Naruto explained. "Sasuke is supposed to be the best in our class and Sakura is close behind. Add in the two of our skills I am sure we could catch him off guard and get the bells."
Tsuki sighed and nodded. "As much as I dislike them, you're right." She admitted. "Who should we get first?"
"I guess Sakura, she might be more agreeable than Sasuke." Naruto said after a moment of thought.
Tsuki nodded in agreement and the two headed off into the woods.
Sakura's POV
Once their Sensei had finished, Sakura hand glanced around to try and find Sasuke but could not see him anywhere so she took off into the forest.
'If Kakashi-sensei could take on those two then Sasuke could be in danger, I have to get to him first.' She thought as she ran through the forest.
She soon entered a small clearing and comes to a stop when she spots Kakashi standing several feet away from her. 'This is my chance.' She thought as she reached down for a kunai.
Before she could grab one a strange sensation came over her. 'W-what is this?' She thought as she felt somewhat light headed and her vision became unfocused.
However it only lasts a second before her vision comes back into focus and she looks around confused. "W-what just happened?" She said aloud as she continued to glance around the forest clearing.
As she took in her surroundings she realized that Kakashi was gone. "Darn it, where did he go?" She said. She moved to take a step when she heard the sound of a twig snapping and she turned around to face her opponent.
But upon spotting the source of the noise her eyes widened. Right before her was a beaten and bloodied Sasuke, kunai sticking out of her back as he leaned weakly against a tree.
"S-s-Sakura...h-h-help me." He muttered weakly.
Sakura's eyes widened in shock at the sight before her, her body felt like it could not move and she did the one thing she could do and screamed before her world turned black.
Kakashi's POV
He watched as Sakura collapsed on the ground. "Huh I thought she would have broken out of that. Maybe the illusion was too real for her, or the subject of it confused her so much she forgot to check." He said to himself before he jumped down and checked on her vitals.
'Good seems like she only passed out from shock, she should be fine if not a little confused when she wakes up.' He thought before he stood up and turned his attention to the location of his fourth and final student. "Let's see if you live up to the hype." He said aloud and made his way towards his final student.
Sasuke turned to the woods as he heard a scream. "That sounded like Sakura, I guess that means I am the only one he has not faced yet." He said as he glanced around the clearing. 'That also means he has used up at least some of his strength.'
Soon Kakashi walked out of the woods towards him. "Well looks like you're the only one left."
Sasuke smirks as he brings up his guard and moves into a fighting stance, his eyes watching his opponent intently for any movement. "Yes but you have had to deal with the others first, thus using up some of your energy which gives me an advantage." He said as he charged in throwing. A punch at Kakashi's head.
Kakashi effortlessly blocks it. And grabs his wrist.
Sauske quickly follows this up with another punch but his attack is once again blocked. He continues his barrage with a third attack, a kick this time, but once again Kakashi stops him, this time pushing him away.
"You plan would have worked, if not for the fact I have dealt with a lot worse than a handful of Genin at the same time before." He stated as he stared at the last of the Uchiha. "So if your going to stop me you will need to try a lot better than that."
Sasuke frowned and brought his hands up, bringing them through a small series of hand signs.
"Fire style: Fire Ball Jutsu" he called out before a blast of fire erupted from his mouth.
'Hmm what do you know, I guess Naruto and Tsuki aren't the only ones with something up their sleeves.' He thought before the fire blocked him from Sasuke's view.
Sasuke continued the flame fire a bit before he canceled the Jutsu. As the flames vanished his eyes widened as Kakshi was nowhere insight. 'Where did he go? Left? Right? Behind me? Above?' He thought as he glanced in each direction.
Suddenly he felt something grab his leg and he was pulled into the ground.
"I was right under you feet, Earth style: Head Hunter Jutsu" Kakashi's voice called out. As the dust cleared he found all but his head trapped underground, Kakashi standing right in-front of him.
"That should keep you trapped for a little while, but I am sure you will get out before the time is up." He added before he walked away, leaving Sasuke to glare at his back.
'Now let's see if this team can pull itself together in time.'
So sorry for the LONG time without a update, I got focused on my other story, then the year kicked things into overdrive, my laptop died so I had to use my phone to write. Basically a miraid of bad things stop me from writing and when I finally did finish I just kept forgetting to spell check it. I am still going to go over it after the post because I know there is a misspelling in there I missed but I wanted to get this out there.
