The trees rushed by them as Naruto and Tsuki ran through the forest, searching for the scream they had heard from Sakura. Tsuki was leading them due to her heightened sense of smell and sound.

"How much further?" Naruto asked as they continued their search for their missing comrade.

"Not too much farther, he scent is just up ahead." Tsuki replied as they entered a small forest clearing. Lying unconscious in the middle was Sakura.

Naruto took a moment to look around for any sign of a trap as did Tsuki. "Seems to be clear for now." He said as he slowly walked forward to the downed girl. He knelt beside her as he glanced over her body. "I don't see any injuries, what about you?"

Tsuki shook her head. "No and I don't smell anything either. I guess that leaves one option." She replied as she knelt down beside their teammate.

"Genjutsu." Naruto said with a sigh as he looked up at his friend/roommate. "Can you dispel it? I still have trouble just dealing with ones cast on me."

She shook her head at him. "Naruto if you're having trouble then this is the perfect time to practice, you have a teammate down, another missing a d you need to free her from the Genjutsu." She said, giving him a brief scenario to encourage him. 'Plus I can't, my Chakra could do some serious harm to her if I send some into her system.'

Naruto sighed and nodded as he closed his eyes to focus. He slowly willed his Chakra to reach out to Sakura's. Once he felt the two connect he pushed a small amount into her. "Release!"

Sakura's eyes snapped open and she quickly sat up, glancing around her. "W-what's going on? Where's Sasuke?" She asked quickly as she started to gather her thoughts.

"Sakura, it's OK take a few deep breaths. You were under a simple Genjutsu, we freed you, whatever you saw didn't happen." Tsuki explained as she tried to calm Sakura down.

Sakura seemed surprised but followed the advice and took some deep breaths to calm herself down. "Have you calmed down?" Tsuki asked in a gentle tone to which Sakura just nodded. "Good now we need to talk to you and we don't have much time so I will lead us to Sasuke while Naruto explains his plan."

Sakura blinked a bit confused but nodded as the three of them took off into the woods.

"Sakura I know we don't really get along but we are going to have to if we want to pass this test." Naruto said as he walked alongside her. "As good as are none of us, even Sasuke can beat a Jonin by ourselves it's impossible we have to work together if we want to get those bells. Once we have them then we can figure out who keeps the bells and who goes back to the academy."

Sakura looked at Naruto for a few moments before she nodded. "You're right alone we don't have a chance against him but together we just might do it." She replied thoughtfully. "I gotta admit I am kinda surprised you thought about this Naruto, you usually charge straight into your problems." She said but Tsuki could tell it was a bit of playful teasing.

"Oh come on I am not that bad right?" He asked, he was met with silence from both Sakura, Tsuki and Naruto lowered his head in response. "I thought I was getting better at it." He muttered.

"You are but you still tend to be reckless." Tsuki said with a smile as they started to exit the woods. "Also we are here." She added and pointed a bit away from them at the ground. Buried up to his neck was Sasuke.

Sakura saw him and opened her mouth to scream when Naruto stopped her, putting his hand over her mouth "Sakura, he is fine. Just mostly buried." He explained, gesturing to the hole in the ground around Sasuke's head. Sakura took a few moments to notice this before slowly settling down. Once he noticed she had calmed down Naruto removed his hand and stepped away. "Now that we have dealt with that let's get Sasuke out of the ground." He said as he made his way over to him. He waved his hand over his belt and two small shovels appeared.

Sakura blinked for a few moments in surprise but quickly made her way over to help. "Hey where did that shovel come from." She asked as she caught up to Naruto.

Naruto smiled at her. "I have storage seals on my belt for tools like this just in case I really need them." He explained and handed her the second shovel. Once she took it he started to carefully dig around Sasuke's head, Sakura flooded his example as Tauki guarded them.

It took them a while but they managed to dig enough of the dirt away to allow Sasuke some movement and he got himself out of the hole. "You guys know I could have gotten out on my own right?" He asked as he dusted himself off.

Naruto rolled his eyes and Tsuki sighed. "Yes but how much longer would that have been and how much time left would you have left to try and get the bells." She stated as Naruto resealed the shovels. "Listen I know you think you can do this alone but Naruto and I have a plan to get the bells while also possibly allowing all of us to pass." She said before Sasuke could walk off.

He glanced at her and raised an eyebrow. "Oh and who would get the bells?" He asked in an annoyed tone, as if this suggestion was wasting his time.

"If all goes well I can guarantee you will have one of them." She replied, staring him down. "And what do you have to lose, at worst we fail to get the bells and he is weakened giving you a better chance." She added.

Sauske seemed to think about this for a few moments before speaking. "Ok what's the plan."

Elsewhere in the training ground.

Kakashi was casually reading though his favorite book, however his mind was focused elsewhere. 'Naruto has decent Taijutsu, good control of his Shadow Clones as well as good Chakra control considering the amount he has though he could stand to gain more. Overall he has all the beginning of a Ninjutsu powerhouse. Tsuki also seems to have good Taijutsu, much better than Naruto's. She also has a good head on her shoulders but considering what she is that is to be expected. However she has not shown me much else aside from the fact she and Naruto work well together.' He thought as he ran through the test, absentmindedly turning the page in his book.

'Sakura on the other hand is a bit of a disappointment. Great Chakra control, very intelligent, but she went after Sasuke instead of her comrades who were in a fight, not only that but she fell for a rather simple Genjutsu. I wonder if it was because of her lack of practical skills or because it was Sasuke she saw.' His train of thought continued as he reached his final student. 'And Sasuke, good Taijutsu, good Ninjutsu and decent Chakra control, give him a few years and he could easily make one of the top Ninja in the village if he wasn't blinded by his anger and need to avenge his clan.'

Kakashi let out one final sigh as he closed his book and put it away. "Almost time, let's see if they can pull this together." He muttered as two barrages of Kunai flew towards him and he easily dodged them. Naruto and Sasuke leaped out of the forest, charging at him. 'Going for the direct approach huh, let's see how that works' He thought as he got ready to defend.

As they reached the halfway point Sasuke started going through a familiar set of hands signs. 'Fireball Jutsu again? What are they planning?' His question was quickly answered as Naruto started going through a different set of hand signs.

"Fire style: Fireball Jutsu."

"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough."

The two called out as one released a Fireball, the other a large blast of wind that increased the size and speed of the flame.

Kakashi's eyes widened for a brief moment. "So that's it, rather clever of them." He muttered as he jumped back and to the side, making several smaller jumps to give him some room. 'But where are the other two?'' He thought and quickly glanced behind him spotting one of his missing students.

"Water style: Gun Shot." Tsuki called out as she took a deep breath before letting it out. Instead of a bolt of water the size of a tennis ball size attack, a blast of water the size of a building was released at Kakashi, causing his eyes to widen in surprise.

'I thought she had better control then this, guess I might have been mistaken.' He thought as he quickly adjusted his course to evade the massive blast of water just as his foot touched the ground he heard something snap and looked down to see Sakura with a kunai, cutting the bells off of his belt.

She quickly grabbed them and darted away, just as an alarm sounded ending the test. "Mah what a good job. Using Tsuki's over sided attack to distract me so Sakura could sneak up and grab the bells, pretty impressive. I must admit you did surprise me." Kakashi said with a smile, his genin smiles proudly as they gather around Sakura. "But who gets to keep the bells?"

The group looked at each other and Tsuki opened her mouth to speak, but before she could, Sakura thrust a bell at her, Sasuke and Naruto. "Here, you guys deserve it. If it wasn't for you I probably would have remained stuck under that Genjutsu."

Tsuki shook her head and handed back her bell. "No if it wasn't for you we wouldn't have gotten the bells, so you deserve it if anything."

Tsuki you're the one who caused him to move towards Sakura. If anyone deserves a bell it is you." Naruto said as he handed her his bell.

Sasuke looked at his bell before he tossed it to Naruto. "You should have a bell. It was your plan that worked, and you're the one who figured out we needed to group up to take the bells."

Sakura's eyes widened at this and quickly handed Sasuke her bell. "But it was your fire and Naruto's wind that started off the plan in the first place and made it work, I am sure Naruto could have made it work with one of those clones of his."

Before anyone else could speak up Kakashi clapped his hands. "OK that's enough." He said getting their full attention. "Since you four are at an impasse I guess there is only one thing to do, I will decide who is on the team." Kakashi looked at each of them as they stood still, worried at what he would decide. After a few more moments of silence Kakashi stood up straight. "You all pass." He said with a smile.

The four genin stared at him. "What?!" They all yelled simultaneously.

"You all pass, you put your differences and dreams aside for each other, putting the team ahead of yourself. That is the goal of this test." He said as he looked at their surprised faces. "This test was mentioned to divide you, turn you against each other. While it did that initially you managed to come together and get your goal, not only that you were willing to sacrifice yourself for each other. That is the purpose of this test, to confirm you can work together as a team, even when you don't always get along." He explained as he students listened attentively. "If there is one lesson you ever learn from me it is this. Those who fail their mission are scum, but those who abandon their friends and comrades are worse than scum."

The four genin smiled at each other as their new sensei finished their first lesson.

"Well that's all for today, go home, rest and come back here at seven o'clock in the morning. We will start missions and training first thing tomorrow." He said before walking away his four happy genin following close behind him.
