Naruto yawned as he woke up and rubbed his eyes, he glanced out his bedroom window to see the sun just rising over the walls of Konoha. "Well, better get ready, it's my turn to cook." he muttered as he shook his head, trying to rid himself of any remaining sleepiness.

He quickly got dressed and glanced down at his table where his headband was laying. He gently picked it up and smiled before putting it on.

"Alright, today's my first day as an actual genin so I better start it right." He said before making his way into the kitchen.

He made a quick breakfast of bacon and eggs for him and Tsuki which just finished as she walked into the room. "Morning Naruto-nii." She said with a smile as she grabbed a glass of water along with a clean plate and chopsticks before taking a seat as Naruto brought the pans containing the food over to the table.

Ate in relative silence as they enjoyed their food and prepared for their first day of training.

Once they were done eating and cleaned up from breakfast they quickly made their way over to Training Ground Seven, upon arriving they spotted Sakura and Sasuke already waiting there.

"Hey Sakura, how's it going?" Naruto called out in a friendly manner as he walked over to her, Tsuki quickly joined him.

Sakura glanced up at him, turning her gaze away from Sasuke who was leaning against one of the nearby wooden poles.

"Morning you two, and I am doing OK Naruto, thanks for asking." She replied politely. "Though I hope Kakashi-sensei does not leave us waiting for hours again."

Tauki nodded in agreement as she glanced around the training ground. "Maybe he got called in for a meeting." She offered but wasn't too sure herself.

"Well I am sure he will be here soon, after all, he set the meeting time so he can't be that late." Naruto replied.

About an hour passed when Kakashi finally appeared in front of them in a puff of smoke. "Good morning everyone." He said simply.

"YOUR LATE!" Naruto, Sakura and Tsuki yelled as they pointed at him.

"Well you see I ran into an old lady carrying her groceries home and I offered to help her." He replied.

All four of his Genin gave him a deadpan stare at his reply but said nothing.

"Well then I suppose we should get started. First off I would like to congratulate each of you again for passing my test." He said which caused most of them to smile, this did not last however. "But you all have subjects you need to work on." He finished before he turned to Sakura.

"Sakura, you are listed as one of the best in your class yet you managed to do very little compared to everyone else, you even fell to a basic genjutsu." He explained which caused Sakura to glance at the ground in shame. "But most of this can be fixed, we will work on your ability to sense and dispel genjutsu along with more physical training to increase your strength and stamina. Lastly, I want you to spend some time at the library to try and find a discipline that appeals to you."

Sakura looked up at him slightly confused and started to raise her hand but Kakashi predicted her question. "Most Ninja have at least one thing they specialize in and make that the primary focus of their training, but they must also be careful not to let their other skills drop because of that focus."

Sakura's eyes widened and she nodded in understanding., causing Kakashi to give her a brief smile before he turned to Naruto.

"Naruto, your much better off then I thought you would be but your Chakra control is still very lacking, while this is not a major problem for you since you naturally have a massive pool of Chakra to pull from getting better control will help you last much longer in a fight." Kakashi said before giving Naruto a moment to process this before continuing. "We also need to work on your Taijutsu form and your Strategizing. While it may not become your strongest weapon, using your mind in a fight can greatly help you in a fight."

Kakashi then turned to Tsuki. "You have several of the same issues as Naruto when it comes to Chakra control as shown with that overpowered water attack yesterday so we will be focusing on that as well as finding you something to specialize in." He explained and Tsuki nodded.

Finally Kakashi turned to Sasuke. "As for you, while you may be the most balanced in terms of skills, you have a lot of growing up to do. You need to be able to rely on your team and they need to be able to rely on you and right now that is severely lacking." Kakshi turned and glanced at the others. "It's not just Sasuke, while you all managed to pull together at the end of the test you need to be able to fully trust each other when you're out on a mission." He explained before he turned his attention back to Sasuke.

"You're also using too much Chakra in your fire jutsu so we will be working on that as well." He said before he took a step back and glanced at his entire team. "From what I said it may seem like yyou all have a long road ahead of you, which is true, but you have a good start on it and that will make the next leg of your journey a lot easier." he said with a smile. "Now let's get started, we have a long day ahead of us."

Time skip

Naruto collapsed onto his bed, his body aching from the day's activities. It had been almost a month since they passed their Genin exam and He had to admit this was not exactly what he expected Ninja life to be.

Their current routine was to arrive at the training group some time around Seven in the morning. After a hour of waiting Kakashi would finally show up with some dumb excuse before he started their training. First he worked on their teamwork because in his own works it was still "lacking" in some areas. After about an hour of that he would move them onto Chakra control exercises.

Initially he was quite happy since he already knew a few of these thanks to Tsuki helping him out, but that quickly changed when Kakashi started having him do variants of each exercise, like balance a leaf on each finger tip while walking up a tree or hold a leaf on his forehead as he stands on water as Kakashi throws Kunai at him.

Despite how hard and annoying it was, this was already showing results, he was able to make a lot more shadow clones for less Chakra now.

After that they would head to the Hokage's tower and take a "mission" which was nothing more than a glorified chore that other people were to lazy to do: Paint a fence, weed a garden, help plant crops, clean out a rivers, catch a cat(all of them were convinced it was some kind of Ninja or demon cat with how fast it moved). A few times they failed the mission because he got impatient and messed up their objective causing Kakashi to dock his pay to make up for it.

After a few incidents of this Tsuki had sat him down for a rather stern talk and he made sure not to mess up the objective again. Once their mission is complete they would break for lunch, every other day Kakashi forced them all to have lunch together and have each member of the team take turns picking a restaurant.

Once lunch is done they take another one of their "missions'' before returning to the training ground.

This time Kakashi actually has them work on their Ninja skills. For Naruto himself Kakashi started off just with Taijutsu but started putting him under genjutsus as well to have him get used to detecting and escaping them. Near the end of training he will send a shadow clone off with Naruto to play Shogi and occasionally ask him a question about a mission and reveal to him what his answer would cause on the mission.

For Sakura, since she already had excellent control, the training focused on building up her Chakra pool and body strength along with helping her find a fitting Taijutsu style. During training he would put her through various Genjutsu and have to break out of it.

Sasuke's training was primarily focused on Chakra control, he already had a good pool to draw from and he now needed to use that pool effectively. The rest of his training was practicing his fire style jutsu and learning more about team work albeit a somewhat difficult process to do while the others were also training.

Tsuki was similar to Sasuke and Naruto. Lots of focus on controlling how much Chakra she puts into a jutsu since "you don't always want your C ranks unleashing the power of an A rank."

The only exception to this schedule was on Fridays where the last two hours were focused on individual interests.

Sasuke wanted to learn more Ninjutsu so Kakshi gave him a scroll on another fire jutsu and told him to "master it before asking for another.". While this initially irritated Sasuke he had already started to see the effectiveness of it. He had learned the jutsu rather quickly and discovered that the more he practiced it the more refined it got and the less Chakra it cost as he perfected it.

Naruto himself was interested in fuinijutsu and unfortunately Kakashi was not very skilled in the art, but he promised to get him some books or scrolls on the subject when he could. First he had Naruto show him what he already knew after which he told him to practice his writing speed to see if he could get it up to combat level. This initially confused him but he agreed and followed what Kakashi said and as the month progressed his writing speed has slowly increased.

Sakura had not truly found something yet but she was leaning towards medical ninjutsu. Kakshi had gotten her some books to study before attempting to learn anything and had her start learning some Genjutsu and increased her Taijutsu practice in the meantime pointing out that "In Battle the medic will be the first to go if they can't defend themselves."

Tsuki opted to focus on taijutsu for now, at least till her Chakra control was more acceptable to Kakashi, something that Kakashi seemed to be in agreement with and had her practice the same exercise he was giving Naruto. However she was getting them down much faster then he was but she would then turn and help him out with his exercise so it was not too bad.

Naruto let out another yawn as he closed his eyes and started to drift off to sleep.

Sorry for the rather meh chapter, I know the phrase is show don't tell but I just could not build up the energy to write a chapter showing their training so I had to go with the tell option.

For the first and possible only time I want to give a story shout out. I want you all to check out a story by the name of Setsuri by Taelune it is extremely well written Naruto fan fiction with a good premise. I highly recommend. All I ask is that if any of my readers leave a review on her story that it be constructive.
