Okay, so now that we are exactly 7 days in the past, I disable the time circle used for multi person time travel, and we see someone who looks a lot like Ben, but has a red jacket and whitish-gray hair. He is examining the pods, which are full of liquid. I can't seem to make any humanoid figures out in the pods, but I see small clumps of organic matter.
"Umm, is this the guy?" I ask Gwen, who seems to know more about this guy than I do.
"Yeah, is this the doofus we need to find? I'd kick his flank right now if I wasn't worried about time travel rules and stuff." Rainbow Dash said eager to prove herself to me since our last time cop mission.
"Yeah, this is the guy, if you are wondering why he looks like Ben, it's because the Omnitrix's default DNA sample is human, because Ben is the user. The false Omnitrix core used Ben's DNA as the base, trapping Albedo in a human body."
"Huh, so human DNA is like a blank canvas for it? That makes sense, since Ben always becomes a human after his transformation." I thought to myself.
We then see Albedo take out a reddish core, which looks quite similar to the Omnitrix core that Ben wears, and he puts it into a machine.
"I wonder what he is going to do with that thing?" Gwen asks us. I had no idea, best to watch and learn. The machine was connected to a monitor, and projected images of all different kinds of aliens onto the monitor. There were hundreds of them, all sorted in Base 10 format for simplicity, or "playlists". Albedo took a keyboard and mouse and selected individual images of aliens, with a particular emphasis on Vaxasaurians, Chronosapiens, and To'kustars. When each image was selected, DNA chains began to flow inside the pods, and intermingled with the organic matter inside.
"Do you think that this organic matter is human, or is it just a base organism for testing?" Gwen asks me. I really don't know, but it would be horrible if my gut feeling is correct.
The organic matter began to change in shape, looking eerily similar to a human fetus, with certain key aspects changed depending on what alien sample was implanted into the pod. The Vaxasaurian hybrids got tails and more muscle mass, the Chronosapien hybrids had small gears inside their chests, and the To'kustars were much larger than the other hybrids, with dorsal fin-like protrusions on their arms and legs.
"This is bad, this is really bad. Are you sure I can't interfere?" Rainbow Dash asked me. She was starting to get very angry, remembering what I told her about my time in The Foundation.
"You cannot interfere, period. It will disrupt the flow of time." I reply sternly.
"Um, Gwen, why didn't Albedo select a Celestial Sapien sample? Wouldn't that have been the smartest choice?" I asked her, a bit confused as to why Albedo did not select the most powerful alien available to him.
"Well, on Ben's Omnitrix, we put a failsafe mechanism on it to make sure that he doesn't transform into Alien X by accident. Whenever he becomes a Celestial Sapien, he is split into three personas, and rarely makes any decisions. Maybe the false Omnitrix core has the same failsafe mechanism, preventing Alien X's DNA from being sampled?"
That makes sense. I mean, for a time god, I can't mess things up that much, and I must restrict my powers greatly to function in society; I assume Professor Paradox does the same to avoid a quantum cataclysm. The most I ever went, in my opinion, was a bit less than 50% when fighting Luna on the moon the first time, and that was with the Destroyer form. If Alien X is really that powerful, locking him up is probably a good idea.
"Uh, Kronos, I think he might be selecting Alicorn DNA now!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, pointing to the monitor with her hoof. The image looked a lot like Celestia. Was she an Omnitrix sample? No, that can't be right, since Ben's watch scanned Twilight's DNA for the first time. Yet, this could be possible? The DNA flowed into the last pod, and the fetus grew wings and a horn.
"Goddammit, I swore not to interfere, but I have to do something!" I said furiously as I witnessed someone making more hybrids. I can't let this happen to someone else again.
"Well, just wait and see what he does with the hybrids, and then find him in the present." Gwen says, trying to calm me down for a moment so I don't alter the timeline (even though I have done so on multiple occasions).
She is right. Once the hybrid fetuses finished their mutations, albedo took a capsule for each of them and attached it to the pod, absorbing the fetuses completely. Once he collected all 25 hybrids, he disconnected the false Omnitrix core and reconnected it to his own wrist. He transformed into an Aerophibian and flew off, to some unknown location.
"Good thing I put a cosmic tracker on him! Now I know where he is throughout all of time and space!" I said as I snapped my fingers, returning the three of us back to the present. I believe only 30 seconds have elapsed since I went a week in the past to where I am now, so the remainder of our group was not waiting for a particularly long time.
"OMYGOSH! THIS ALBEDO GUY IS MAKING MORE HYBRIDS, AND HE MADE AN ALICORN HYBRID, AND KRONOS IS PISSED OFF, AND I WANTED TO KICK BUTT, AND."
I put my hand over Rainbow Dash's mouth. "I get it, you are excited about this, but calm down, okay?" I said in a slightly scolding manner.
Twilight looked sad. She felt bad for her friend, knowing that he had to see someone make more hybrids again, especially when his mandate is to protect hybrids and make sure no new ones are made. "Well, this sucks, any idea where this idiot Albedo went?" She asked me.
I projected the cosmic tracker onto the wall of the cavern where we were, and it showed the exact location of Albedo over the past seven days. For the first few days, he stayed on Galvan Prime, and then on day 4, he went to Earth, namely Cairo, Egypt. He stayed there for 2 days, and as of right now, is currently somewhere in the vacuum of space, heading towards Equestria.
"Umm, I recognize those universal coordinates, Kronos. This Albedo guy is heading towards Equestria. This is bad, this is really bad." Twilight said, hyperventilating a bit. She does get a bit overworked sometimes, especially when things get quite bad.
"Oh, great, back to magical ponyland. Can't I ever get a break! Frankly, I would much rather be in the Null Void than having to go back to that planet again. What am I, like a 6 year old girl?" Kevin said, fed up about this whole thing. This pissed off Twilight a lot. I mean, yeah, her race does look all cute and stuff, but she literally fought with gods and won, and is friends with a time god, so how "girly" can she be?
Twilight grinned: "I can arrange that for you, Osmosian, if you would like… Much more "manly" for you, strong guy!" she said as her horn glowed, signaling a portal could be made at any moment.
"Okay, calm down everyone!" Max said, quickly silencing the Tennysons and Kevin. "Arguing over where and when we are going won't solve this problem any faster. Frankly, I have never been to this "Equestria" planet in all my years working for the Plumbers, and it could prove to be very valuable. If the talking unicorn and the Paradox wannabe say we should go, by all means." Max said. Gwen and Ben were not interested in arguing with their grandfather, and Kevin didn't care enough to continue arguing.
"Frankly, if we ARE going back to Equestria, I need cider, a lot of cider. This shit is a lot to handle." Rainbow Dash said.
"Frankly, a bit of booze never hurts anyone, maybe I'll get used to this pony thing if I am wasted." Kevin said.
I quickly checked ahead at possible futures to see how urgent this task needs to be dealt with, and it seems that a short break at Sweet Apple Acres for cider would not interfere much with our mandate.
"Okay, I checked ahead at possible futures, and we are basically 99.9% safe if we take a pit stop. I can vouch for a fact that anything that comes out of Sweet Apple is heavenly, and I could go for a pint right now… Tennyson, are you old enough to drink?" I quip as Twilight teleports herself, Rainbow Dash and I back to Equestria.
"Well, I have the coordinates from Nathan, let's go to this planet for drinks, and then keep looking for Albedo." Max says as he leaves the cave and boards the ship. His grandchildren and Kevin follow suit, and they all leave Galvan Prime en route to Equestria.
