Hello everyone! We're back with another chapter! I'm not going to waste time; you know the drill!
UntoDelirium: We'll have to see how everything plays out for our kitsune now that he's awake!
AndTails: I wanted to really make sure we covered that whole thing! It's going to be much more important this time around! But I'm glad you liked the information presented! We'll have to see what Tails and everyone else thinks this chapter!

Noonui: Both sides certainly have their own opinions on the war. I wanted to give each side a chance to give their perspective on the events that transpired!
Ieju: I'm super happy with how much it's improved so far! We're just getting started and it feels so much better for me as well! I feel like the improvement over the past two years is noticeable!

The Kitsune Legacy

"I told you... I don't know anything about where I came from!"
"How did you not know anything? You had to know something about your parents or what you are!"
"Well, what am I exactly? Obviously, you know more than me!" Tails exclaimed. He and Sonic had been going back and forth for a minute there, the whole situation had certainly shaken things up between the two of them.
"Knuckles told us everything about the temple, your species and everything… Tails… You're a Kitsune…"
The fox sat seemingly in shock for a moment before he spoke. "It wasn't just a dream…"
"What do you mean?" Sonic asked, puzzled by the comment.
"When I was asleep, I was visited by a fox with multiple tails, he said he was a kitsune and that I had some magical abilities and powers and stuff like that… I just kind of brushed it off as a weird dream but…"
"Well do you have powers?"
Tails seemed to focus for a moment before the palms of his hands began to glow a light blue color. Tendrils of light and energy sprouted from his fingers as his eyes began to glow like they had back at the temple. As Sonic, Amy, and Knuckles watched on in curiosity, another figure materialized into the room. An exact duplicate of Tails...
The trio were taken aback for a moment, Sonic slowly approached the doppelganger and tried to place his hand on its shoulder, as soon as he tried however, it phased straight through and caused the spot to flicker a bright blue color before the fox dissipated entirely.
Sonic looked back over at the kitsune, "Dude... That's awesome! What else can you do!?"
It was Tails' turn to be taken aback, he hadn't expected that response. "Well apparently I can use illusions... I learned a bit from the fox I met in my dreams as well... There was a whole species that we didn't know about and-"
"Yeah... About that Tails..." Sonic responded, "We already know..."
"What? How do you-"
"I told them." Knuckles interjected, cutting the kitsune off. "I'd had my suspicions for a while now."
The kitsune made his way to his feet from his spot on the couch. Sonic instantly sensed something was wrong but before he could do anything, Tails had already tackled the echidna pinning him down to the ground in surprise.
"You knew this whole time!? And you didn't think to tell me!?"
"Tails I-"
"I never knew where I came from or why my parents left me! You're saying you knew this whole time!?"
Sonic tried to pull the kit off the echidna before things could get even worse, only to be met with a punch to the face. "You stay out of this!" The kitsune added. While he was distracted however, Knuckles grabbed the kit by the shoulders and tossed him to the side, maybe with a little more force than he'd intended and sent the small fox soaring into the nearby table, he let out a loud yelp as he struck it, violently overturning the piece of furniture and snapping one of the legs clean off in the process, sending the scrolls the echidna had brought with him flying into the air.
Sonic and Amy were over by him almost instantly, the kit winced in pain as the looked him over, sort whimpers escaping his voice box. It seemed he'd struck the side of the table with his back, leaving a good-sized red gash across it. Knuckles quickly made his way to his feet and over to the group. "Tails I'm sorry I didn't mean to! You're just a lot lighter than-"
"Just shut up!" The fox growled through gritted teeth.
"Knuckles just wait…" Sonic responded, rushing to grab some bandages. As soon as he returned, Amy started to patch up his back as Sonic pulled Knuckles aside.
"Look, I'm sorry." Knuckles began. "It's just that-"
"You're ok, I know you didn't mean to hurt him. I just think Tails is a little overwhelmed right now and he's lashing out. He did this a lot when I first met him and I don't think he's ever quite got over it. I just don't know why he attacked you like that…"
"It's probably because of whatever that fox in his dream told him. I'm going to talk to him once he's calmed down a little bit."
"Sounds good…"
Amy had finished wrapping the bandages around his chest and Sonic helped the kit to his feet and upstairs where they could have a private conversation.
"Tails, what came over you back there? I haven't seen you lash out like that in a long time…"
The kit still appeared somewhat angry, and it leaked through his words as he spoke. "Cause I was lied to! What else? How much did he or anybody else know? Not to mention his species killed my parents? How about that!?"
Sonic was somewhat in shock at his response, "Tails, I understand you're upset. You're probably overwhelmed with everything you've learned recently… I'm here for you… We can help you, I'll tell you everything Knuckles told us… He said that it'd always been an idea in his head the whole time, bit he'd never said anything because you never showed any of the powers that would make it true. He probably just thought it was a fr- strange coincidence. He also said he was ashamed of what happened to your parents and the other Kitsune. He's really sorry, and I'm sure he just wants to help."
The fox seemed to let the idea settle into his brain for a bit before a response came. "Well, he didn't have to throw me into a table..."
Sonic let out a slight chuckle at the statement, putting a hand on his shoulder "Well to be fair, you did attack him first. I don't think he meant to do that."
"Still hurt..."
"Hey... Maybe you two could apologize. What do you think of that?"
"It's fine I guess... I'm just still really overwhelmed by this whole thing; I just don't know what to think..." As he said those words, his palms and eyes began to glow once more as more of the blue energy emanated from his hands. The kit quickly vanished from view, though Sonic could still tell he was present from the feeling of the soft fur under his hand as it rested on the now invisible fox's shoulder.
"Tails... You're vanishing on me bud..."
The fox materialized back into existence, the glow fading from his eyes. "Sorry..."
"There's no reason to apologize! You're nervous and stressed, and that's alright! I'd be stressed out if I suddenly got magic powers and realized that everything I knew about myself was wrong!"
Tails threw his arms around the hedgehog, feeling the odd softness of his quills and the warmth of his embrace as Sonic returned it. The two sat in a comfortable silence for a while before they separated. "I suppose I should go apologize now..." Tails added.
The hedgehog nodded as the two of them made their way back down stairs, once they'd reached the bottom, Tails turned to Knuckles, embarrassment shining through his features. "I'm sorry for attacking you there, I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed with everything that's happened..."
"It's alright," He responded. "I should have at least mentioned it to you and... I'm sorry for throwing you into a table as well, how's your back?"
"Fine... Still hurts a little though. I just don't know what came over me there."
"You being angry was fine, I know I would be... I'm sorry for what we did to your species..."
"No, it's alright... From what I've managed to gather, we attacked you first. It was self-defense..."
"It might have been, but we still shouldn't have killed them like that."
The two sat in comfortable silence for a bit before Knuckles spoke again, "Though I've got to admit, those powers of yours are pretty cool. I've read of kitsune that could control fire, ice, wind, but never any that could use illusions like you can."
"They're interesting for sure. Hopefully they'll come in handy with fighting Eggman."
"I'm sure they will bud!" Sonic interjected, "You seem like you've got a grasp on them already!"
As if asked to, Tails' eyes began to glow once more. Conjuring another two Sonic's alongside the real one. "I can only imagine the look on his face."
The hedgehog allowed a small smirk to cross his features. "He'll be in for quite a shock!"
Both illusory Sonics flickered blue and dissipated as a more hopeful tone filled Tails' voice, "But this brings up more questions... Maybe there's more to this whole thing we're not aware of, the fox that talked to me in my dreams knew quite a bit, and I'm sure there's more knowledge out there for us to find!"
"Well, no matter what happens, we'll be with you every step of the way!" Sonic responded, a bright smile crossing his face as he pulled Tails under his arm.
"Yeah," Knuckles added. "While our ancestors might have been enemies, there's no reason we have to be!"
"You're still the same Tails," Amy injected. "In the end that's all that matters!"
The high spirits in the room were almost tangible as they settled into the new changes.
"So..." Amy finally spoke, "Who's getting me a new table?"
