"Give me that!"
"No, you give it!"
"I want to test the microphone!"
"I got here first!"
You just have to wait your turn!"
"Give it!"
At the home of the Duck Brothers, two of the Brothers were fighting over some extraordinary microphone. The third brother with red eyes sighed as he watched his brothers' bickering.
Just then, the phone rung. The two brothers were bickering at the time, so they didn't hear the phone. the red eyed duck brother let out another sigh and made his way to the phone. He picked it up and answered, "Hello, Duck Brothers' residence. How may I help?"
"Hey, guys," Courage's voice was heard, which the red eyed duck brother immediately recognized, "It's me, Courage. I have another rescue mission planned, and I need your guys' help. Can you meet me at the farmhouse?"
"Sure thing, Courage," the red eyed duck brother said and hung up. He turned around and walked up to his brothers, who continued to bicker. "Guys, we can test the microphone later. Courage has another rescue mission."
The brothers stopped bickering and looked at their brother for a second. "Another rescue mission?" the purple eyed duck brother asked in confusion.
"Who's the hostage?" the green duck brother asked.
"Courage haven't told me who it is, yet," the red eyed duck brother explained, "Just told us to meet him at the farmhouse."
"Well, what are we waiting for?" the purple eyed duck brother asked.
"Let's get the ship running so we can what this rescue is about," the green eyed duck brother added.
The two brothers seemed to be excited about the new rescue mission. Indeed, it has been a couple months since they rescued Melinda, and the rescue mission was a bit risky, but it was full of action. The Brothers couldn't wait to do it again.
"So, we're all alone now," Kitty said. As Bunny laid her head on her chest, Kitty gave a loving purring sound as she ran her fingers through Bunny's ears.
"What do you think we should do in our alone time?" Bunny asked, giggling a bit as her girlfriend purred and ran her fingers through her fur and ears.
"I was thinking we could-" Kitty started, but before she could finish, the sound of her telephone ringing interrupted her. Kitty grabbed the telephone and answered with annoyance, "Hello? Me and my partner are in middle of alone time, so this better be import-"
"Hey, Kitty," Courage's chatted, interrupting Kitty and changing her mood from annoyed to surprised, "I just called because I have another rescue mission planned and needed you and Bunny to come to the farmhouse. I hope I wasn't interrupting anything."
"Oh no, it's okay, Courage, if it's a rescue mission, then Bunny and I can do our 'thing', later," Kitty told him.
"Okay, meet me at the farmhouse," Courage said after a moment.
"I will, see ya, Courage," Kitty said, hanging up the phone and looking at her girlfriend, who was apparently laying on the bed and listening to the conversation Kitty was having.
"Courage has another rescue mission?" Bunny asked as she stood up and looked at Kitty.
"Yep, he wants us to meet at the farmhouse this time," Kitty answered.
"I wonder if it's Melinda again," Bunny wondered.
"Courage will let us know," Kitty told her.
At her wagon, Shirley was looking at one of her crystal balls. In the crystal ball, a woman was being surrounded by a crowd of people. She had millions of money, golden bars, and gemstones. Shirley smiled as the woman was nervous and freaked out by the attention she got.
"Oh, yes," Shirley said, smiling at the woman's suffering, "Oh, now you know what being rich feels like. You steal my money, you get a suffering curse."
Shirley's amusement was interrupted when her telephone was ringing. She picked it up and answered. "Hello? This is Shirley the Medium. How may I help?"
"Hey, Shirley," Courage's voice was heard, "You're not busy or anything are you?"
"Other than enjoying the suffering of my victim, I don't have anything to do," Shirley answered.
"Well, I-" Courage was about to talk again when Shirley interrupted. "Planned another rescue mission?" she guessed.
"How'd you know?" Courage asked with a little bit of surprise. "I'm a fortune teller if you had forgotten," Shirley answered.
"Well, since you already know about the rescue mission, just come to the farmhouse," Courage said.
"Sure thing," Shirley accepted with a warm smile. With that, she hung up and started to leave the wagon. Shirley was certainly ready for another rescue mission."
It didn't take long for Courage's friends to arrive. When they did, they went up to the attic. The Computer was sitting on the desk.
"So, what's this plan of yours?" Bunny asked.
"Yeah, who's the hostage?" the purple eyed duck brother asked second.
"This is the hostage," Courage said. He showed them Audrey's photo of Melissa. Kitty and Bunny's eyes widened.
"Melissa?" Kitty said in surprise.
"You know her?" Courage asked.
"Yeah, Bunny and I used to visit the forest a lot before Bunny was being abused by Mad Dog," Kitty explained.
"Melissa was very shy, but Audrey was happy," Bunny added, "Like, overly happy. Kitty and I can't exactly remember the last time she was sad or angry."
"Well, she was sad yesterday, like really depressed," Courage told them.
"Really?" Bunny said with an confused face, "I didn't think she'd ever, ever, be sad until now. But then again, she did lose her friend."
"Like every living being here, happiness isn't the only emotion Audrey has," Shirley said, "Anger and sadness were the kind of emotions Audrey would feel one day, and that day had came about five years ago."
"Being without her friend for five years?" Bunny asked, "That's really sad."
"Did Audrey tell you what happened to Melissa, Courage?" Kitty asked Courage, who nodded in response.
That was when Courage explained everything that Audrey had told him and Muriel. About the snake. About how Melissa had bruised from being abused and being forced to work as a slave from the snake. How Audrey tried to convince Melissa to leave. How the snake threatened to kill Audrey, and how Audrey have been wandering off on her own since then.
Kitty and Bunny were shocked at what happened. Their own friend became depressed, and it was because a snake was abusing Melissa and forcing her to work like a slave.
"I can't believe it," Bunny said with shock, "Audrey became sad, and Melissa is being abused and treated like a slave by a snake."
"What's your plan, Courage?" Kitty asked.
"The plan is that one of us sneak into the castle, disguise ourselves as royal guards until we reach the dungeon, lock the door so the guards can't get in, get rid of the guards that are in the dungeon, free Melissa, and escape," Courage stated all in one breath.
"That's a great idea, Courage, but how are we gonna sneak into the castle?" the green eyed duck brother asked.
"I went to the Computer for some help in my plan," Courage answered.
That was when the Computer was turned on and started to speak, "True. The twit asked for ideas, so I gave him ideas. If people visit the snake, then perhaps the visitors might have wagons that the seven of you can hide in. My other idea is, well, hiding in bush and walking into the castle while people aren't looking."
"Sneaking into a castle by hiding in a wagon sounds like a easy idea," the red eyed duck brother said, "Sneaking in through a bush is a bit risky."
"But I have another question: what do we do if we get caught?" Bunny said.
"Yeah, I mean when we tried to save Melinda by using last rescue mission, we ended up getting caught," Kitty added, "Melinda almost got put on TV when that happened. We can't take the same risk again."
"I thought about that, which is why I got this," Courage said. He pulled out a meteor about his size and showed it his friends. They looked at it as they awed in amazement.
"What's that, Courage?" Bunny asked as she stared at the meteor the pink dog was holding.
"The source of all the weirdness in Nowhere, the Meteor of Dark Matter," Courage said and started to explain how he got it, "Not too long after we saved Melinda, I started to feel and hear strange things. Then I met this dog, Scooby Doo, who was experiencing the feeling I had. I met his other friends and we were investigating not only the weird things happening in Nowhere, but also the giant cicadas and the queen one that keeps attacking us. We figured out that there was a strange signal and that it was a strange meteor underneath the farmhouse that seemed to be the source of all the weird stuff that happened. After battling the queen cicada for it, we had a huge dance party, along with the General, Lieguent, and the villains behind the entire cicada attacks and signals. After that, the villains were arrested, and the gang had to leave. I didn't want to say goodbye to Scooby Doo or Shaggy, but it was like Melinda had said, goodbyes aren't forever."
Courage's friends were amazed at Courage's second story. They didn't know that all the weirdness in Nowhere was affected by a meteor underground.
"So, how does the meteor work, Courage?" Kitty asked.
"Like this." Courage turned around and gave the meteor a little spin. The meteor gave a blast of light, and Courage and his friends started to float in the air, much to their surprise and amazement.
"Wow, that meteor is really useful," the red eyed duck brother said.
"We should use it more often," the green eyed duck brother added.
It was settled. The meteor would be a great weapon to use against the snake if they needed to. Soon, the friends started to get prepared for their mission. Hopefully, it would be different like last time.
