The Story of Fox McCloud part 1

Fox McCloud had been through many close calls and hair raising journeys in his life. He'd avenged his father's death defeating the enemy that killed him, explored an entire planet of dinosaurs, and fought his life-long rival time and time again with no visible end to their rivalry in sight. And most recently he'd undergone another life alter decision, marriage.

Yes, after some time together Fox finally managed to pop the question and asked Krystal for marriage and she said yes. The reception was small, a gather of close friends although not everyone was in attendance.

It was now a week after the wedding and the newly married McClouds were preparing to go on their honeymoon. And Great Fox was in a buzz as they prepared the last of their things for the journey. So the couple packed up their things and prepared to head out, they'd board their flight and in several hours they would be in Delfino Plaza for a tropical getaway.

Fox was in his room packing any last minute necessities and Falco surprisingly lent a hand. Falco crouched on one knee picking up any and all the clothing he found and stuffed them into a bag, Fox didn't notice.

"Fox!" called Krystal from the front door of Great Fox." The cab is here."

"Alright!" called Fox from his room. He turned to Falco and reached for the bag, Falco calmly handed it to him and walked with Fox to the door." I really appreciate you helping me with the packing Falco, you've help me save a ton of time."

"I was glad to have helped." Falco said, not in his usual sarcastic or sly tone but in a calmer more genuine one. The two then came up and met Krystal at the front door.

"Ready to go?" she asked Fox as he approached.

"I'm all set." Said Fox showing her his bag and then tapping it. Falco stood behind the couple as they prepared to make their exit. Krystal took Fox's hand and prepared to leave with him following, but Fox stopped himself and turned back to Falco.

"Are you sure you'll be fine without us for a while?" asked Fox turning to Falco.

"Don't you worry about me." Said Falco." This trip is about you two. Go on, go and have some fun." Fox smiled a very genuine smile in return, remarking at this new and warmer side of Falco.

And with that Fox and Krystal bid him their last goodbyes and headed out the door and off to begin their honeymoon.

Falco stood in the doorway with a plain look on his face. He stood there and once both their retreating figures disappeared in the cab slowly his eyes squinted and his lips curved into a sly smile. With a spring in his step Falco pivoted on his heel and his body moving to an unknown rhythm he danced around Great Fox.

As he made his way around he came across Peppy and Slippy in the dining hall, the two looked at the bird with confused looks as he danced past them. But then out of the corner of his eye Falco spotted the two and swung half-way into the room, resting his arms on the doorframe.

"Greetings." He addressed them with sly tone in his voice.

"This isn't gonna be good." Commented Peppy based on Falco's voice.

"Gentleman after all the years we've spent on this team, together I like to consider us to be on friendly terms, as acquaintance you might say." The two continued to listen on in confused horror at what might come next." That being the case, I think it's only fair to give you this warning." He took a brief moment to pause before continuing." You have about five minutes to vacate the area before Rouge gets here and we get down to the nasty."

"Surely you can't be serious." Said Slippy. Falco pulled a pack of cigarettes and flipped one out and into his mouth, giving a toothy smile with the rest of his mouth.

"Try me." Was all he said as he lit his cigarette and smoke went into the air. Just then at that moment there was a knocking at the door and Falco jolted up with the smile still on his face." Times nearly up guys, better get goin while the going is good." Then he turned and went to the front door.

He opened it up and there was Rouge the bat standing before him.

"Right on time." He said upon seeing her." We've got the whole place for ourselves." She cocked her head up and him with a raised brow.

"You said you had a job for me here." She said to him.

"Sure." He answered in a sly voice, at the same time blowing smoke all into her face." Come in and we'll talk about it."

Peppy and Slippy stayed where they were but could faintly hear Falco's voice and smell his tobacco smoke. But then they heard the sound of feet hitting against the ground. Then they saw Rouge walk by followed by Falco. The bat paid them no mind but Falco stopped in the doorway much like he had before. He smirked at the two with a malicious glow in his eyes before he turned and continued to follow Rouge down the hall.

In the aftermath of his leaving Peppy and Slippy turned to each other with wide-eyes.

"I'm out." Said Slippy as he got up.

"Right behind you." Added Peppy as he got up as well.

Meanwhile Fox and Krystal continued on their honeymoon to Delfino Plaza. They took the taxi to the airport and from there took a plane to their destination. Within a few hours they flew over the tropical islands. The couple looked out the window in awe as the clouds disappeared and they saw the islands below, with golden beaches and clear waters all around them.

Once they landed the couple made their way to the hotel that they would be staying at. A very luxurious place with big golden halls. Together Fox and Krystal entered the hotel, marveling at the size and grandeur of the place. Then they came up to the front desk.

"Reservations for McCloud." Fox said to the clerk standing there. The man clicked away at the computer and answered once he found the name.

"Yes, room for two in the honeymoon suite." He responded.

"That's us." Said Krystal while Fox just smiled. The clerk ducked behind the counter to retrieve the key. And as he did, Fox was now looking forward at the glass.

He jolted in surprise as he saw the reflection of Wolf O' Donnell standing there. In quick reaction Fox turned around and prepared to face his enemy but to his further surprise no one was there.

"Fox are you alright?" asked Krystal reaching over and putting her hand on his shoulder. Fox had a strange feeling, a feeling that he was being watched. He slowly turned his head and scanned the area around him. But he did not see anything suspicious or anyone he recognized, so she shook his head and cleared his mind of any thoughts.

"Yea." He replied." I'm fine."

"Sir." Said the clerk. Fox and Krystal turned to him." Your room key." He handed it off to Fox.

"Thank you." He replied with a smile." Shall we then?" He said extending his arm out to Krystal. She put her arm around his and the two continued up to their hotel room.

But there was a set of prying eyes in the lobby that watched them go.
