"So, three weeks in a palace by the beach…"
Week 1
Jack had just finished unpacking his personal supplies General Hammond had sent through the Stargate. The room he'd chosen in the palace by the sea wasn't lavish in comparison to the other rooms, but it had the best view, in his opinion. The window faced north, providing an unobstructed view of the ocean and sky. One of the personal affects he'd requested, his telescope, was already set up and ready to go. Astronomy was a hobby of his and, if he had to take this impromptu three week vacation, he didn't plan to waste the opportunity to study the stars from a different planet.
"All unpacked, sir?" Sam asked from the open doorway. She was dressed in a pair of light shorts and a tight-fitting tank top, not military-appropriate attire, but then she was off duty. They all were. Hammond had ordered them all onto off-world medical leave for the next three weeks, meaning that until the effects of the light were gone, they were not permitted to represent Earth or the SGC in any way.
"I see you've settled in," he couldn't help that his gaze roamed over her body. "Sorry," he offered at her questioning look, forcing his eyes back to her face. The impulse-reducing effects of the device were obviously still strong. "You look really nice," he cringed inwardly as that also came out in a suggestive way.
"Thank you, sir," she ignored his inappropriate behavior and breezed into the room. "It looks like you've settled in, too."
A light floral scent touched Jack's nose as she walked past him to examine the telescope. Damn she smelled good.
Sam delicately touched the optical tube of the scope, tracing it with her fingertips. Jack couldn't help imagine what it would feel like for it to be him she was touching. Gah! Stop it! He ordered himself.
Sam smiled at him then bent forward to peer through the eyepiece, giving him a magnificent view of her backside. Her long, lithe legs seemed to go on forever, disappearing into her shorts.
"Nice view," she practically hummed.
Jack bit his tongue trying not to reply, but he couldn't help himself. "Spectacular," the word tumbled past his lips with such awe that Sam turned her head to look at him. Judging by the look of mirth on her face, she knew he wasn't talking about the view through the telescope.
"Carter—" Jack stopped and cleared his throat. "The light, it um—"
"Don't worry about it, sir," her eyes were bright with humor. "I'm feeling the effects of it, too. So is Daniel. He can't stop eating the Twinkies General Hammond sent over."
He shook his head. Daniel had to deal with the munchies while Jack had to fight back carnal urges toward his 2IC. Figures. The space monkey always seemed to get the better end of the deal…although Sam did look amazing in—Ack! He mentally shook himself. Carter. Not Sam. Major Samantha Carter…Samantha. He really liked the way her named rolled off his tongue. He'd like to use his tongue…
It was going to be a very long three weeks.
